Update & Activate Using Line 6 Monkey:


Line 6 Monkey is the free intelligent updater that will make sure your computer software and Line 6 hardware are up to and ready to support your new purchase.
Early PODxt units with version 1.01 firmware must be updated using a MIDI interface and MIDI cables to prepare them for License Key activation. See the License Key Activation Guide for details.

Detailed instructions for using Line 6 Monkey to activate your License Key are in the License Key Activation Guide. Or just follow these simple steps:

1. Get Line 6 Monkey for your computer from our software downloads page.

2. Connect your Line 6 hardware to your computer using a USB cable. (We ship one in the box with GuitarPorts, TonePorts and PODxt’s.)

3. If your computer offers to install software, cancel that. Instead, run the Line 6 Monkey software while your Internet connection is active.

4. Log in to Line 6 Monkey using your Line 6 user name and password.

5. Select the Monkey’s Updates tab. A triangle shows to the left of the listing for your Driver if a newer version is available. In that case, highlight the Driver item and click Update Selection. You may be required to restart your computer when updating. If so, restart Line 6 Monkey, too.

6. With your Driver up to date, highlight Device Firmware under the Updates tab, and click Update Selection.

7. Then select the Optional Add-Ons tab in Line 6 Monkey, click the Activate Purchase button, and enter your License Key as shown here and in the email we sent you.

8. Line 6 Monkey will communicate with the Line 6 server. When it tells you to, turn your PODxt on and off, or unplug and re-plug your GuitarPort or TonePort. Your License Key has now been activated!
