hi matt

i seem to be getting forum letters sent to my email concerning other issues related to you .i thought these would be posted in the forums then answered by the line 6 team .no big deal just didnt no if this was the normal case. anyway been tinkering with record and pod farm thanks for the tuts ,really helpful .but im going to be getting a new system up and running with win 7 i5 650 3.2 ghz and wanted to know if there is a reason for getting 64 bit. is the software capable of handling it or is this a bit of overkill.(is 32 bit more appropriate .im only using the guitar port as my interface with pod farm and record (not the demo and getting reason 4 crossgrade? soon)an old oxygen 8 midi controller .dont know if you have any relevant answers to this or if im being a little short on the tech knowledge but would like to hear what your thoughts are on this.

Thanks for getting back on this Matt. From memory I think the waveform looks okay (I'm at work). Definitely bigger than just the dry output, but I would expect that. I forgot to set it to stereo, but I wouldn't think that would cause this problem. I did dial down the tone volume and the input meter was well under what you show in your video without anything close to a yellow bar.

I did install the V2.0 but I hadn't updated Gearbox yet when I did the recording (didn't realize it needed it yet). Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm not convinced that V2.0 went in correctly though as I haven't been able to find the new stomp boxes/effects that were supposed to come with it and I've been having some problems with X3 Live shutting down on it's own and occasionally having trouble initializing. Monkey does show it as installed properly and after getting Gearbox updated I haven't seen the initialization and shutdown problems (but I haven't had much time to play lately).

I'll play with it more tonight and see what happens when I record.

My system is Win 7 64 bit with 8 gigs or ram. I would love to remove the Profire 610 from the mix as I think the audio drivers for that are causing Record to lockup at random times...

Hi paulicus,

That is a strange problem. Does the waveform in Record (on the track you record) look maxed? Have you tried turning down the Tone Volume (and/or the Master Volume) on POD X3 Live? Just curious: Did you do that v2.0 update for POD X3 Live? What Operating System (XP, Vista, Mac OS 10.?.?) are you using?

Hi Matt, thanks for continuing to create these cool tutorials. I get a lot out of them.

I have been using a M-Audio Profire 610 for digital in and out with Record and "just" using the X3 Live for the additional tones it and it's add-ons provide. After watching this tutorial I decided to take the 610 out of the setup and use the X3 Live for ins and outs with Record.

It works as I expect it to when monitoring as I play whether I'm recording or not, but when I record the live signal (inputs 1 or 2) when I play them back they are WAY too loud and overdriven almost beyond recognition. Recording just the dry signal works fine just like it does using the Profire 610.

I am only using external monitoring, I've tried reducing the input level and I have the monitor level low already (running gearbox at the same time). What am I missing with this one? Thanks!

There is not an ASIO driver in the X3. The ASIO driver must be installed in the computer itself. If you installed Line 6 Monkey on your computer, the POD X3 Live drivers are probably already installed on your computer.

A driver is a little bit of software that is installed on your computer so that when you connect a device like POD X3 Live (or a printer, or a webcam), your computer can recognize what the device is and make use of all its features. Some devices may be able to use generic class compliant drivers already built into the computer's operating system, but those drivers may only offer limited functionality, and in the case of audio interfaces, ASIO drivers are never included in the computer's operating system.

Hi...I just bought a new laotop and already have a pod x3 live. I do have a recording computer but it is out of date and ram!!!! I am interested in purchasing record for the laptop and use my x3 as the interface!! Does record come with asio drivers or would I have to get one separately?? If so ,where is the best place to get a driver!!!!
