Both are basically free, uncrippled and very straight forward.

If your boyfriend really gets into the whole computer recording thing, later on he can always get a new recording program. There are a few great, albeit, expensive recording programs with offer more features than he'll ever need.

Oh, and have him check Line 6 for updates. This place is great for updating the software.

BTW, as a girlfriend, you rock. Great gift. Make sure he appreciates you.

Line6Andy, Thank you for getting back to me. I have read everything. find the instructions a little confusing and I still have 2 questions: 1. Can you explain the backup and restore procedure to me . If I make changes on the computer and want to make them permanent am I changing the NEW file. It asks if I want to save changes to NEW. Hoe do I backup and restore changed settings that I have made permanent. 2. Can I set the unit on a particular user setting and pick a style or band setting to go along with it changing these settings to go over the user setting I choose or are all the settings individual standing on their own. For example Can 5 shades of blue be played with Clean crunch or heavy from style whichever I choose? Do you mix them together one from user and pick one from style? And what about Band. Can you explain what these setting are and how I mix and use them? Sorry this is a little confusing but its new to me. I hope you understand my questions?
