Lowdown amp noise

I have a question. I have just got a Lowdown 300 and the amp generates quite a bit of noise (I think it is coming from the fan that is used to help cool the interior. At 1 metre (3 feet) or thereabouts from the front of the unit I tested the sound with a sound meter, the sound is 37 db (which my chart tells me is between the background noise in a library (30db) and that of a quiet office (40db) -- and closer to the latter). Placing the sound level meter at the rear of the amp gives a correspondingly higher db reading of 63 db (which is equivalent to conversational speech or an air conditioning unit).

In my view, it is a noisy amp given the background hum from the fan (I don't think it is the speaker/amp) since the sound levels above were taken when the master volume was set to zero.

My question is as follows: is the sound level I have for the amp to be expected or is it unusually noisy for this kind of amp. I know it is pretty powerful unit and hence probably does need the fan -- but I am not very pleased with the background hum it is generating.

Does anyone have the manufacturer's spec on what the ambient sound to be expected from the unit is? What are other users experiencing in amp noise? Do I have a faulty fan/unit?

Apart from the above, I like the rest of what the amp does -- in particular the way it 'emulates' certain distinct amp systems, plus the other added features. And its power!

Every time I plug my bass into my amp (while the amp is turned on), it starts making a druming bum bum bum bum sound. If my bass isn't pugged in (while the amp is turned on) it won't make the noise. Does anyone know whats wrong? The Amp is an LD15

Lowdown as monitor

I bought a lowdown 150 combo. I need much power so I decided to use it as monitor. Can I connect de direct XLR output to another bass head, or it can only be connected to a PA Mixer?. Are there any options to use the lowdown as monitor with other bass cabinets?.

Just got the HD400 head and 410 cabinet. Is okay to run with head sitting on the cabinet, yes? I notice there are cooling vents in the bottom of the (rack-mountable) head, is the reason I ask...

LD150 - Using MP3/CD Input Jack

Greetings,

I am new to the LowDown Amps and I am wondering if this is an issue or by design.

If I plug a MP3 player into the jack and turn on the AMP, it plays thru the speaker for a second or two and then goes silent...

However the input jack source always plays thru the Headphone jack.

Shouldn't an MP3 play thru the main speaker?

I added the HD400 tag to this as I also have a HD400 and have not yet tried it, but hope that it plays thru the speaker on that AMP when I get to position where I can test it.

New to LowDown Studio 110 (general impressions)

Hi All,

So I have played guitar for about 5 years now and decided to pick up a bass.

Bought Yamaha RBX374 (didnt have any cash for an amp at the time) and plugged it straight in

my old Fender Champion 30 (30W) guitar amp, I know it "shouldn't be done", but w.e.

And you know it sounded rather very good, for a low 30W old guitar amp i loved it.

So i played for about 2 weeks, loved every second and decided to pick up a "proper" bass amp,

i play once in a while with my buddies so Studio 110 seemed like the best choise (wight/watt/price)

So i got home and plugged it right in, wanted to see what it will do on just a clean tone, and i was

surpised (as my bass has active pickups) i pushed in -10Db button, i had to go to almost past half (6)

on the volume knob to get the same amount of crip sound i had on my old Fender ... that got me worried.

I tried to play -10Db disabled, that sounded better or i guess louder at least, but at some point distorted, as expected,

and i did put a new battery in for my pickups just in case. All in all not too bad, and i have read the FAQ about the "volume pod"

that line 6 is using which is aparently not too responsive, i still failed to understand why (would be cool to know

who exactely can help me replace that, to have it increasing smoother).

Even though i have not spend too much time with it, only 2 days so far... i couldnt get this clean, crisp sound out of it as

easy as i was able to out of Fender guitar amp (appologies to mention fender here). Maybe i am just used to play and sound

of a guitar. Anyhow ... if there are any advices for the preset that would sound - maybe clean and ringy that would be cool

Maybe i am not using opto compressor right, kinda have an idea for what it is, just seems like it makes sound too dull if its

turned up too high?

Hope this amp grows on me... and thanks!

110 "Clean" Is Now Dirty

I'm getting a hissy hum or a hummy hiss — in any event, significant background noise — when I have my Lowdown 110 set to the clean channel. The noise is most pronounced when I sound a note on my bass.

The other channels, thankfully, are still pristine.

I've tried the factory reset and swapped out the cable. The problem persists.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Does anyone have any advice? I've had the amp for a year and a half.

Problem with knobs on Studio 110

I am on my second Lowdown studio 110. I really love the sound and size. I am on my second because the first had a bad knob. My current one also has a couple bad knobs. the troublesome knobs do not turn smoothly. they feel like they are grabby and there is sandpaper inside. Is there a remedy? I need to know soon so I can return it if it is a warranty repair, because the local service center has a 4 week wait time.

HD750 + 410 Cab

750 watts (at 4 ohms)

375 watts (at 8 ohms)

My question is:

Is it possible to get all 600 watts out of 410cab? Or will it be only 375 watts due to the fact that 410cab is 8ohms?

Hello,

I just purchased some Line 6 equipment, one of which is a Lowdown LD300 pro. We will be moving to the U.K. in a year and I was wondering if the Lowdown can handle the voltage over there. I know I would at least need an adaptor. On my computer I just have to buy the adaptor and flip a switch on the back of my power supply. Is there a way to do this with the Lowdown? If I have to buy a transformer for this baby I know it will have to be a biggy. I hope I don't. I know they sell this Amp in the U.K., but I don't want to have to buy another one.

Has a Passive and Active inputs. Can a Passive Bass and Active Bass be plugged in at the same time. Will this damage the amp. I use both guitars during our shows and want to cut the time down trading them out. When I use my wireless will that make a difference.

Hi,

I'm having trouble with my Line 6 Low Down 300 Pro Bass Amplifier. My speakers work, there is an input signal as well detected in the amplifier, however, i do not hear any sound when i plug in my bass. once again, i've tested the speakers independently and they work but not when amplifier is plugged in to speaker. what problems are typically associated with this? Are there any tests I can perform? Is there a schematic available for this amplifier online or via email through line 6? Thanks for the help!

Hi. Newbie JD here. I realize it is physically possible to connect two 410 cabs to a single 750HD, but is this practical? Would it effect the volume so much that it does not make sense to do this? I see photos on the line six web site showing "stacked" 410s with a 750HD on top, but I can't find info about this setup. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Built-in Fan not working?

I recently purchased a LD175 and am very happy so far with what I have experienced. However I did notice there is a built-in fan in the back of the unit that does not engage when the unit is turned on. Is this normal? or does it only turn on when it reaches a certain temperature?

Also, sometimes when I flick the power button to switch the unit on, nothing happens. I flick it to the off position and on again and usually it will then turn on, sometimes I have to repeat the process twice, is this something I should be worried about?

[edit] Ok I gave it a good work out and it appears the fan turned itself on, so I am going to just go ahead and assume it automatically activates at a set temp, good to know. however I am still a little worried about this situation with powering the unit on. Any help would be fantastic, thank you!

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use an external pedal board through Lowdown LD400 pro, such as the Boss GT10b or GT6b?

I think it would be ok, I assume it would work if it were plugged into the amp through the MP3/CD socket which I think would bypass the onboard effects circuitry, or could it go in to the Preamp socket on the LD400?

LD175 synth model doesn't work well

The other 5 models seem to work ok. I can select them then begin turning knobs to experiment with sound variations.

The synth model MIGHT give a sound, but peters out as I being to play notes.

I followed the suggested settings in the manual and the same thing happens. No sound, or any weak sound I get quickly peters out as I begin to play.

I have an active bass (has a battery) and the only time I can get any consistent sound out of the synth model is when the I plug into the Passive port.

Is it possible for the 300 to overheat? Here's why I ask...

This weekend, I played at a neighborhood "Rocktoberfest" -- there were several other bands on the bill, with my band "headlining." It was an outdoor gig, with a complicated stage setup, so to simplify things, I offered to let all the other bassists use my LowDown 300. The show started around 1pm, with bands playing all day in the sunshine (temps were in the low 70sF). The 300 performed like a champ all day -- every one of the other bassists remarked on how much they liked my amp (you'll probably sell a half dozen of them this week to the others that played it that day). I was running the board for most of the day, and the direct-out sounded great through the PA. The volume was set at around 5-6 all day (the amp was not on continuously -- it did get shut down in between bands), with no problems, including with the band immediately before mine -- I sat in with them and the amp sounded awesome.

But when my band took the stage, around 7pm, I plugged in and got nothing but nastiness -- farting digital-clipping distortion. It sounded exactly like the noise I get when the battery on my Fender Deluxe Jazz bass dies, so I swapped out the battery for a new one, to no avail. I tried a passive bass, and a new cable but nothing made a difference. Tried all four of my presets and "manual mode" but still had the same problem. I ended up having to use a DI box, and we had to shorten our set because of the time lost.

I brought the amp home, and the next morning, it worked perfectly (of course), with no sign of trouble. I even left it on all day in my house, but it still sounded sweet. The only thing I can think of is that some component overheated because of the long day outdoors.

I love my 300pro, and it almost never gets a workout like it did Saturday, but this experience shaken my confidence in the amp.

Any clues?

Question about LD300

Situation:

I have a Lowdown 300 pro. I've had it for about 3 years or so & loved it. Last Friday, I was playing a gig & it died, bad. I had to turn the chan. volume, master volume, guitar volume & my wireless units gain all the way up & plug my active bass into the passive input just to finish the gig. Towards the end of the night, it was sounding like the the envelope filter had kicked in as well. Given it's age, I now have a large black paperweight with a Line 6 logo on it!!!

Questions:

1) I know it is WAY out of warranty & I will have to pay for any repairs. Is it worth fixing or should I just look to replace it?

2) I always loved the sound from this amp, but I tend to play larger venues & needed a little more power, would it be advisable to buy an HD400 head & install a plug in the cabinet so I could, basically replace the 300w head with a new 400w head?

Any additional thoughts you have would be appreciated as well.

Hi There!

I keep hearing mixed reviews about the little 10incher but I do like the price.

Do you think the 75watts that the 110 offers is enough to act as an on-stage monitor? I play a Godin semi acoustic and at the moment it goes straight to the desk. All I hear is what I can pick up from the front of house speakers. When there's good fold-back its not an issue but in some cases there may only be one foldback and it may only be used for Vox. The band is an acoustic style funk/hiphop band so I get pretty intricate and whip out some funky riffs and solos - there's no crazed distortion etc - I figure if the amp is near me and facing me it may be good enough to hear myself... Ultmately it'd be cool if me AND the drummer could hear it but I'll be happy if I can jsut hear it myself...

So what do you think?

I bought my son a bass guitar and a ld175 amp, it has many neat effects and sounds but now he turns it on and it's making a fast steady beat by itself, a "doom-doom-doom-doom-doom-doom-doom-doom" just continous and fast............he can't stop it and I don't know how, any ideas what it can be? I'm wondering if him or one of his pals didn't set some effect button somehow and this is what's making the noise.

I'm reorganizing my project studio and love my lowdown for bass tracks. I really don't need the speaker/amp etc and would like to know if your bass pod proXT or whatever it is called, has the exact same tones as the lowdown or if they're different animals entirely. I had a bass pod pro years ago and really wasn't impressed with the bass tracks from it, but the Lowdown is much better. Does your newest version of the bass pod pro have all the tones that the Lowdown does and more or are their sounds unique to each unit and not using the same modelling? I'd love to have a rack mountable version of the Lowdown. What would you recommend?

Lowdown 110 Studio Default patch settings

Can you please give me settings for the default "patches"? What I mean is; describe where each knobs default position is on the 4 (5 actually) presets. I'm asking this because it sounds like no matter where I have the knobs physically set ... if I choose to modify the sound by turning a knob ... it seems to just JUMP to wherever the factory postion was (and vary from there). I have no way of knowing how far I've tweaked it from factory preset settings. I'd like to know this. Hoping you will say, "Sure, Michael. Clean setting is factory set (knobs left to right) 6, 4, 5, 6, etc. Thanks in advance for your response.

LD400Pro & an external cab

I am interested in the expandability of the LD400Pro, and have several questions to explore this:

1. Does the built in head unit of the LD400Pro have the same exact electronics & power output as the separate HD400 head unit (both have the identical preamp & power amp sections)?

2. Does the LD400 put out the full 400 watts to its 2 X 10" speakers?

3. Do the internal 2X10 speakers have 4 ohms or 8 ohms of impedance?

4. Is the 'Extension Speaker Output' in parallel or in seriers to the 2X10 internal speakers of the unit?

5. When an external cabinet is connected (such as your LowDown 410 Cab at 8 ohms), will both the internal & external speakers be driven equally? At what wattage?

6. If I were to start out now with just the LD400Pro for practice and small gigs and then later found it necessary to add an external cabinet for more volume to handle larger gigs and outdoor events...and I connected a product like your LowDown 410 Cab, how well will the power amp section of the LD400Pro be able to drive this new array (now a 6X10 setup)? Will it be very underpowered to the point that a more robust solution should be considered instead?

Mein nagelneuer Lowdown 110 läuft nach dem Einschalten ganz normal.

Aber nach ca. 10 Minuten fängt er an zu verzerren und schaltet sich dann ganz aus.

Ich habe ihn schon auf die Werksounds zurückgesetzt, hat aber nichts geändert.

LD Bass Amps - 'Design Flaw' ~ No FBV-2

Do all LD bass amps have this 'design flaw' as the tech describes it? I bought a LD 150 w/ FBV-2 and the FBV-2 did not work with the amp. The tech said 'early LD 150s' had this known issue. So for 2 years my LD 150 sat unused while I rocked away with my Roland Bass Cube 100 (whose 2-button switch works flawlessly by the way). I finally decided to try again with Line 6 as I really like the idea of saved tones and quick recall via the footswitch. So I paid big $ for a LD 300 Pro and...Surprise! It fails with the FBV-2 exactly like the LD 150 did. Do all Line 6 LD bass amps have this issue? The tech said his works and I should buy a FBV Express…not exactly the resolve I had expected. Anyone need a LD 300 Pro…cheap?

Can you run the Lowdown 750 at 8Ohm impedance

Hi all - I recently bought the HD750 and, while the manual is very easy to read and specific about a 4 Ohm minimum impedance there's no reference to the impact of an 8 ohm box it's not clear the impact of higher impedance. just say you are running two 8's and one fails leaving only one 8 online, will this have long term effect or just short term output reduction?

Have not had a response from any of the local (Aussie) tech's on this one yet either.

No sound and all lights on Lowdown 15

I've recently bought the LowDown 15 Bass Amp. The sound is great and all, but today... all of a sudden there was no sound anymore. When I looked at my LowDown 15, All the lights from the "Clear, R&B, Rock and Grind" settings are burning and the threshold light is blinking. No matter what I do, switch off and on the Amp, Disconnecting the mains cabel and reconnecting it... pressing a button or several buttons while starting up, it doesn't fix the problem.

For a short while there was a plopping sound coming from the amp, that was in sync with the blinking of the Threshold light... but even that has stopped

Can anyone please help me out. Thank you very much in advance.

I'm a Lowdown newbie (but not a Line 6 newbie, as I've owned a Variax bass for a few years now), I purchased an LD175 a few weeks ago, have been familiarizing myself with it ever since. That includes playing around with it, putting it through its paces, reading the manual, checking out this site (forums, FAQs, etc.)...I even downloaded the Lowdown Preset Charts and have been having a lot of fun with those, too.

But I have a few questions...

Q1 - Does the Lowdown always start in the same setting, regardless of what I was last playing? It seems like it. Let's say I'm playing in the Grind preset (the amp model knob is set to Grind, and the Grind LED is on). The I shut the amp off (leaving all knobs alone, of course). When I turn the amp back on, the Clean amp model LED is on, the Deep button LED is on and the Channel A button LED is on...even though the amp model knob is still pointing to Grind. And the sound coming out if I play is obviously clean. If I adjust the amp model knob (which is pointing to Grind, remember) just a hair, the Grind LED lights up and I'm in Grind mode. Is this normal?

Q2 - Each time I select an amp model (Clean, R&B, etc.), the Channel A button LED lights up. It appears to be blinking as well. Why is that?

Q3 - I know that if I push the Channel A button to "turn off" the LED (and turn off the channel memory presets, I assume), then amp is in "manual mode" for that amp model? Is "manual mode" different for each amp model?

Q4 - Let's say I choose an amp model, then futz around with the Drive, Tone Control, Channel Volume, Opto Comp and SmartFX knobs until I get the sound I want. If I immediately select another amp model, do the positions of the knobs from the previous amp model affect the new amp model I just selected? Or, if I turn the amp off, then come back later and turn it on, do the positions of the knobs come into play...or does it 'reset" to the original amp model preset sound? [I already I know I can save those settings by using one of the Channel Memory knobs by pressing and holding for a couple seconds...

HD750 mysteriously cuts out

I bought an HD750 about a month ago and it has been great, however about 2 hours into my last practice it decided to cut-out. I switched it off and and on and I worked for about 5 secs before cutting out again. boxed it up and took it home, checked it the next day and it was working fine. Could it be that there is some kind of thermal protection on the output stage that would cause this? I can't believe it would of overheated at the volume I was playing unless there was a fault with it. I use 2 8ohm cabs so there should be no issue with incorrect loading. I can't afford for this to happen at a gig so I figure I should send the unit back, but suspect I may get told no fault was found.

Lowdown Tech Question

Hello I bought a Line 6 Lowdown used and would appreciate any help you might have for me as I think it has 2 major problems:

(1) The Amp seems to work fine except when I try the synth function, it only plays a synthysized sound if I pluck the E string really hard then it immediately fades out.

It will not pick up any other notes. I have tried messing with all of the settings to no avail. Can this be fixed?

(2) The amp selection light (whichever one I select) blinks randomly, even if I am not playing anything. Is this an indication of a problem?

Hi,I have the Lowdown 300 and Ive grown to love it. Its light and sounds great..easy to carry and setup.

I was just wanting a backup incase it stopped working at the gig.

I also have the fbv 4 selector footswitch with built in vol/wah pedal.

I was going to get a BassPod and run it into a powered speaker as my backup system

but I wanted to check with you guys first...so I can

have the exact sounds I am getting out of my LD300. Should I go with the Pod XT?

Is the circuitry the same in all the bass pods? Thx!

How do I get the same volumes on the banks of FBV Shortboard on my Lowdown 175 ?

I just hooked up my FBV Shortboard (formerly used with Spider II ) to my Lowdown 175 & calibrated it per instructions. My D bank presets are synth presets which are barely audible. Most of my other presets are fine. Should I reset my Lowdown to factory presets as I had changed settings with panel buttons before connecting Shortboard ?

i got a lowdown 15 for christmas, a long time ago. and ever since it has had really bad problems with volume

i know its only 15 watts, but if you put the volume past 4 or so, i get this really bad sound of a mix of distortion and air being pushed

is this just with mine or everybody's, is there a way to fix this?

The Guitar Center near me has a discounted LD300 bass amp for sale that I'm thinking of buying. However, it is not a LD300 "PRO." I'm just wondering what is the difference between the regular 300 and the "PRO" and is it worth buying the regular 300 or should I look around until I find a LD300 PRO??

I currently own a LowDown 150 that I use on stage as a monitor and run direct into the board. I was pretty blown away by a demo of the Bass POD xt Live and was wonder if I could use the LowDown 150 as my onstage monitor and run the xt live into the board. Would the modeling on the LD150 make the xt live sound too weird?

Lowdown 300 FBX longboard problem

I have both a Lowdown 150 and Lowdown 300. Both amps work fine, but my FBX longboard does not function properly on either. The FBX is volume pedal works, but can only change between the bank 4 bank 1 tones. When I try to page up, the name of the other tones will show and sound for 1 second, then it switches itself back to the bank one tones. This FBX works fine on my Vetta 2, and BassPod XT. As you see I am a big Line 6 user, but this has me very perplexed. Can you tell me what I can do to get this to work. Is there another FBX longboard review that does work with lowdown that I can get you to swap me out with? Or maybe a firmware upgrade? Thanks... You can email me an answer to vettamann@yahoo.com.

Pardon the newbie-ness of this post . . . I have a Variax bass and love it. I'm looking for a smaller amp for practice/small room gigs, AND a device that can deliver a nice compressed sound into a Digi 003 (Pro Tools) setup. My understanding is that the LD series (300 & 400 at least) have a direct out (XLR) that is independant of the volume setting. This would be good, because I record late at night and don't need to rattle the house! Are effects (compressor, chorus,etc.) applied to the signal out of this XLR output? Can I merely turn the volume to "0" and still have signal out with a quiet room?

HD400 Power Ratings

The spec for the Lowdown HD400 claims 400 Watt @ 4 ohms, but does not going into the rating for using an 8 ohm cab. I am guessing it would be somewhere between 200 and 270 Watt depending on the efficiency of the head. I am currently driving a 300 Watt 8 ohm cab with a 180 watt head and I want to upgrade my head (not often you get to say that and mean it) to better use the cab to the full. I could live with 270 Watt but if the 8ohm power rating was closer to 200 then it would not give me much more umph than my current head. Does anybody know the power rating for the head at 8 ohms ?

any advice would be much appreciated.

I love this llittle amp ... for GUITAR. Problem is, it isn't set up for guitar with switchable presets. Don't care. I love it. I bought one because of the single 10" speaker in a closed back enclosure and the wattage ... and the way a Tele sounded through it when I cranked it. You should hear it! Amazing with just a little tweaking. Now to the problem. I returned the first one I bought after using it for recording and finding a hum problem with the input. Yes, it was intermittant (the worse type), but it happened only when the guitar cord was plugged in (with or without the other end plugged into the guitar. This happens only after the amp has been turned on for a number of moments. Tried different cables. Same result) ... so I returned it to Guitar Center where I bought it. Actually, I exchanged it for another 110 Studio. The guy behind the counter told me that this seems to be an inherent problem with this particular Line 6 "line/model." Even though I hated to hear that, I still told him "I don't care. It's in warantee. In fact, I'll take a second one, as well." Which I did. Why? So (using an A/B box) I can create some basic switching between a clean setting and an overdrive setting ... and because I'm afraid you guys will stop making this great little find for guitar, albeit intended for bass.

Now to why I'm really writing you guys. I'm on the road a lot and may not actually get to use these amps a lot while still in the warantee period. If there's a known problem (static hiss and crackling when plugged into the input and using a lot of the drive) i.e. a bad capacitor or resistor problem (I'm guessing) ... I would like to ship you BOTH units right now (as new) and have you make the modifications under warantee. Can you assist me on this assuming you have heard of this problem before and in fact it is a flaw in the design? Please advise by email at Furryoldgrover@aol.com, if possible. I'm new to this site, so don't know if I have to come back here to get the answer or if you'll respond to my email. I'll be watching just in case.

I was beginning to doubt that clean and r&b presets would sound so similar, (grind is diff and rock is slightly different)...but I'm wholly missing the funky twangy sort of sound I expected from the clean preset...I resetted and tried with various EQ settings, but to no avail. One of the main reasons for buying a Lowdown Studio 110 was the XLR out. I just tried to use this for the first time.

I connected it to the line in of my computer (Creative Audigy soundcard), using a mono XLR to female cinch adapter and a regular male cinch to 3.5 mm stereo cable (connecting one of the leads to the XLR-cinch). This should give me a recordable signal on one line in channel.

Well, it does give me a signal, but it is VERY low. It doesn't make any difference if I use the left or right channel. The manual says there is a CHAN VOL but there isn't on the Studio 110.

Is there any way to raise the signal level on the Studio 110? Or is my amp broken?

LD150 FBV Express issue

I can't seem to return to manual mode from a preset when using the FBV express. The manual says to press and hold the lit button on the FBV Express until the light goes out. That doesn't work... Is there a misprint in the manual or is my FBV Express or LD150 defective? Thanks.

Hi! I just bought a Lowdown 150 and when I plug the FVB2 that I was using with my POD 2.0 and Spider III 75W with no problems, it stops working, it switches the channels but the sound disappears completely and I have to turn the amp off and on to make it work again.

Low output level of the XLR direct out on LD150

I just purchased an LD150 and patched it into my audio interface (RME Multiface) via the XLR direct output. The output level seems pretty low even with the channel vol turned all the way up on the amp. I can only get peaks of about -10 in my audio interface with a clean tone dialed in, a little hotter when I boost the drive and add compression (this is with my RME set to a -10 input level). Aren't these outputs supposed to be +4 balanced? I've also been able to reproduce the same behavior when running the XLR out into the line input of a Universal Audio M610 preamp. I have to boost everything to full to get a good healthy level. I just want to know if this sounds right or if I'm maybe missing something with regard to the wiring of the cable (I'm using a standard mic cable into the M610 and an XLR to balanced 1/4 inch for the RME connection), how I'm interpreting "Line Level" ect. Any thoughts you could offer would be helpful. Thanks.

Do you have future plans to incorporate a speaker output for an external cabinet on the LD 300 Pro? If so, when? I think this thing would have unbelievable sound when combined with an external 210 cabinet. The lack of a way to use an external cabinet is the only thing that is stopping me from purchasing this amp. Everything else about it is near perfect and no other amp I have looked at even compares. One more thing for your design guys... put castors on this thing.

Studio 110 - Clean + Rock buttons

Hi,

So when I turn on my Studio 110 amp while holding Clean and Rock together, it seems all the lights will flash when I turn any of the knobs, as if the knobs are to select a certain button. However, I can't figure out what it's doing or hear any audible difference when I move any of the knobs in this mode, including the master volume. It almost seems to just turn on and play fine, but all the controls, even volume are disabled. I can't find what this is in the manual either. So what exactly is this setting?

Please note it is in fact Clean and Rock, not clean and R&B to get the Brit setting.

LD300 Pro - Effects Of Insufficient Power Source

At my last show, my amp (LD300 Pro) was intermittently changing volume in drastic manner. The power to the unit was not shutting off...only the volume was changing (through the built-in speaker and the direct out). Hoping that it was an electrical problem and not an equipment issue, I switched to a different outlet and the problem did not occur again.

The amp has always worked perfectly before, and I used it the next day with no problems.

so...My question would be:

Is this the expected behavior for this amp when insufficient power is being delivered (Ex: overloaded or almost overloaded circuit)? If so, how much headroom should I leave on a circuit to avoid the problem in the future? Is there maybe another problem with the amp?

I have a Line 6 LowDown 300... I love this amp more then I love more family members. Now the problem I'm running into is that when i play with my band my amp sounds wet, it sounds like it's under water. I'm having a really hard time trying to get the sound and tone that I want. I have a LowDown 300 Prod with the FBV Shortboard. I like some of the settings but want to group them for easier use on stage. I also would like to mold my own. I'm new at this and I can't easily re-stack my presets for the ones I use on stage most. I also wanted to get updates/ tweak the 36 presets but the Line6 Monkey doesn't have an option noted. Am I hosed with this configuration or can someone tutor me a bit?

Which Size Rack Case

I have recently purchased an HD750 bass amp (which by the way is awesome) and I want to get a rack case for it. The unit itself is 4U and has vents in the top at the back for cooling so I'm guessing I'd have to buy a 6U case (which is kinda bulky). Maybe a 4U plastic one would allow enough airflow to get away with a 4U. Any suggestions welcome.

I'd like to plug my soon to be home Boss GT-10B into my LD175 and am not quite sure how to bypass all the electronics built into the LD175. In other words, when using the Boss GT-10B, I don't want any processing to occur on the LD175, just be an amp, that's all!

So. I know this is an stupid question but.

Is there anything more to it then plugging in the included CAT 5 cable both into the LowDown 400Pro and then into FBV EXPRESS?

The pedal lights up but then it go's dark for about 45 seconds, then a green light comes up on "VOL"

none of the lights on the fallow what is happening when I switch presets from the LowDown 400Pro itself?

none of the switches on the FBV EXPRESS do anything?

Even the VOL pedal does not doing anything?

Is there anything I am doing wrong? Anything to try?

I just go it today. I ordered it direct from line6.

I work for Universal Audio as a Tech Support Manager so I can say I have looked into the LowDown 400Pro manaul and tried all the ushal stuff.

Plug it in before I turn it on the LowDown 400Pro or plug it in after I turn it on the LowDown 400Pro.

I did try hold my foot down on the "A" switch and then plugged it in. I get a neat light display but still no work-y!

Please call me and let's us arrange a RMA for the and a advance replacement?

I have a new LowDown 110. Audio in through the CD/MP3 has a bad whine except when the source device is battery operated. This is a major problem.

The source devices played back through anything else do not generate the "whine", so this is a problem in the 110.

Any Solutions? Is this related to the headphone jack problem? I'd like to get both solved or I will need to return this product.

the forum states that using the fbv floorboard will work with the hd400 but numerous buttons will not work, i have a vetta II guitar combo with the fbv floorboard, i am interested in the hd400 for playing bass but am struggling to find a straight answer as to how the fbv will work...will i get effectively the same as the fbv shortboard? since the shortboard has buttons to select wah/volume for the rocker pedal will the two rockers work on the full board?

i must admit the conflicting reports i have recieved so far are putting me off buying, after all i don't want to have to buy ANOTHER floorboard when i have a perfectly good one here already :s

Lowdown 110 trouble

My 110 started acting funny, it would work fine, then next time I turned it on it would be barely audible. I turned it off then on again and it worked alright.

But after a while turning it off and on wouldn't work anymore, now it's always barely audible.

And when I turn it off it has a quick burst of feedback.

Warrenty ended a year ago, so I can't bring it back.

Anyone else have this problem? What should I do? Way to fix it easliy?
