Guys,

I'd like anyone who is having issues with pops and clicks with these sepcific processors and our drivers to please post on this thread EXACT computer specs and a concise and detailed recipe of how you are able to reproduce these pops and clicks.

I've been streaming music now on an HP DV9 laptop with an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile processor on Vista Home Basic 32 bit now for about an hour without one pop, click or CPU spike. Help me reproduce this so I can help you guys get up and running! Thanks.

Crackling in monitors, using Toneport UX1

I've tried the recommendations that have already been posted, including optimizing my computer settings, downloading the latest drivers and software versions, and trying different settings for buffer size, bitrate, and so on. I've checked all the hardware (monitors are brand new, cables are new/not damaged). My computer should be plenty fast enough (and when I'm not using monitors, it handles the recording software fine, with processing and memory to spare). So I've kind of reached my wits end...I just spent a bunch of money on these monitors and I can't hear anything but crackling static.

Hardware:

Laptop (Windows Vista, 64bit, 2.10GHz, 4.0GB RAM)

Toneport UX1 (connected by USB 2.0)
M-Audio Studio Monitors (connected by two 1/4" cables to Output from Toneport)

Guitar or Amp (into 1/4" Instrument input on Toneport)

Software:

Line6 Gearbox (usually set on bypass, if I'm recording direct from an amp)

Ableton LiveLite 7.0

i'm unlucky to experience the TonePort pops & clicks issue.

I've been said to start a new topic and post my pc's specs, so it could help.

So:

ASUS k50AB (notebook)

Windows XP SP3, 32-bit, slightly modified (just for the looks +few program installed, not important)

AMD ATHLON X2 QL-64 (2.10 GHz, 1MB cache)

4 GB RAM (Windows reads only 3,25 GB because it's an XP, still)

ATI Radeon 4570 (i doubt that's important, but whatever)

250 GB HDD

WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n
LAN 100 Mbps

So you can see i experience the common noise problem on Windows XP and having an Athlon, not Turion.

I've got TonePort UX1.

None of the solutions posted helped.

Please do something, i hope you guys will be able to fix this.

Sound suddenly choppy/distorted

Hey Guys,

Got my Toneport UX2 running through my Mac via USB, and have the main audio running out of that to monitors. When using it sometimes, the audio suddenly becomes choppy and distorted, almost at a rate of 1 'blip' per second. I restart the mac and everything is fine again until it happens. What is going on??

POD farm vs Guitar port

Trying to decide which to purchase. Basically a beginner and just want to record some rhythm tracks and play lead over. Maybe send a file or CD to friends to listen to if I get something that sounds good. Also interested in software to assist with learning the fretboard and maybe has some exercises to improve rhythm, timing, etc.

Direct Monitoring Problem

I am unable to enable "direct monitoring" in cubase. I have only acquired the PODFarm plugin recently so I didn't notice this before. This was happening under cubase 3 sx and now under 5. All steinberg has to say about it is the driver doesn't support it. This is highly frustrating! I have reinstalled all line6 software/drivers and the cubase 5 is a fresh install.

Any ideas?

UX1 MIC INPUT NOISE

Hello

My MIC entrance in my UX1 makes a lot of noise for itself, even if i have nothing plugged to it!!

Here are the printscreens (again, nothing plugged into MIC)... the noise is, as you can imagine, quite a lot, especially because the only way of hearing myself decenlty without licking the microfone is pushing up the gain up to almost 10dB.

0dB - 7dB - 8dB - 9dB - 10dB -

Please note the noise is independant from the setup i choose, it appears in the dry input as you can see. My guitar input works perfeclty, without any noise, wich makes this even stranger

TonePort DI-S No Sound

I just received my TonePort DI-S from my GuitarPort bundle. I installed all of the software. I have the TonePort plugged in. I have a green light. I have re-installed drives more than once. I have restarted the computer more than once. I have switched USB port, computer front panel not a hub. I have all of the up to date Drivers, USB, Gear Box, etc.

I am getting no sound through my computer speakers from the Guitar. I see needles moving on Gear Box. I have twisted knobs, pushed buttons, tried combinations of things. I can hear the video tutorials played from the embedded browser at the bottom of gear box just fine.

I know there is something super simple that I am not seeing here. Why can't I hear my guitar played through my PC speakers?

Hello,

I have a UX8 that suddenly stopped working, when i pluged a guitar in INST, port 1

What happened, is that the UX suddenly froze, some clip lights were on, others were dim red, it simply felt like my system was twitching.

So i tried to turn it off, but it didnt work.

I unpluged it and when I pluged it back in and turned it on, the clip lights were going form left to right ( the two clip lights next to the meters were not on nor were they flashing).

and i cannot turn it off, so I have to unplug it again..

I thought it was a tough piece of hardware..

Can anybody please tell me what has gone wrong?

High pitched whine

While recording a kawai k5000 I get a high pitched whine this also happens if I even turn on gearbox or podfarm. So far I have tried 2 different computers, running the laptop off battery power, switching outlets, switching the power cord on the Kawai, using all ports on ux8, switching the ux8 and k5000 to different outlets, using new audio cables and using a new usb cable on the ux8.

Some strange details: usually I run things through a mixer and effects before going into the ux8, even with the voulme down to 0 on everything the whine perists. Plugging the audio cable from the k5000 1/4 of the way into the mixer and there is no whine, but I can't change the volume! It's only the k5000 that is doing it. The whine is there even with the k5000 off, but goes away if it is unplugged. I tried using a behringer ufo interface and it is fine, plugging straight into the onboard sound card it is fine, plugng right into a zoom h4n it is fine as well. In some ways it seems like a k5000 problem, but all other recording interfaces have no whine.

Any other ideas?

so your telling us that we have to use the pod farm or some audio software to hear the line inputs on the kb37? this again is misleading in your advertising. and if I use podfarm I am getting distortion on the line in even when I delete all amps and other devices from the podfarm audio chain. I also don't get a dry channel it still runs through the amps or whatever else is in the audio chain. also I am using the line 1 and 2 inputs, why am I getting audio on the 3 and 4? I am not using an spdif input????

I have contacted sonar support and have completed all of their trouble shooting steps. They say it must be my input device. I have tried switching over to my computers sound card and the noise does stop. I have updated all my drivers and have completely reinstalled my ux2 software. I have tried changing all my buffers, driver selection......nothing works. I have had it for over a year. Previously no issues. I have added no new hardware or software. What is going on? -thanks,

UX2 Crashes when receiving a powerful signal?

I've had my UX2 crash on me three different ways, all related to high input levels, or so I believe.

Running a bass into the instrument input, had it turned up loud, needles were over on the right. The UX2 shut down. I unplugged/plugged it back in but Reaper wouldn't recognize it. Had to reboot everything. Creative inspiration killed instantly.

Running 2 mics into the UX2, setting levels on guitar amp. It was loud and the mic gain was up. The UX2 shut down, similar results.

Playing a mix back via Reaper, some of the levels were set high and before I could drop them, the UX2 shut down...

Is this supposed to happen when the UX2 receives too strong a signal or do I have a bad unit? I can't imagine that any level of audio input would physically damage the UX2.

Running Windows XP on a laptop, Reaper, POD Farm. This seems to happen intermittently...which makes me wonder if I have a bad piece of hardware (yet again).

Pod Studio UX1 Not Working With Windows 7

I've gone through all of the support FAQs/discussions so this is a last-ditch attempt. I am getting sporadic performance from the UX1 on my laptop (brand new, core i7 processor, Win7, 4g ram). Playback stutters, system sounds only happen sometimes (e.g. - running the "test" function on the sound devices control panel only plays sounds less than half the time) - thus I know it's not an issue with my DAW software. Following the manual and support FAQs, I have:

1. disabled antivirus

2. disabled all wireless/bluetooth network adapters

3. disabled the computer's sound card

4. adjusted sound settings (buffers, size, etc.)

Still, the stuttering problem when playing back and the sporadic appearance of system sounds persists. I have the latest Line6 drivers and software. Any other tips?

I want to be able to use the plugin with my M-audio profire 610, without having to hook up the x3 live, (which i only use for amp situations). I travel a lot and I can't carry a lot of gear with me, so it would be very convenient for me to use pod farm platinum with my m-audio.

can you let me know how can i unlock it?

Two weeks ago I purchased the line 6 ux 2 (the version with the gearbox.new version still unavailable in my country...). when I installed the gearbox it didn't work as a plug in and it told me to download the pod farm fron your website....It works only as a standalone and the plug in costs extra. On the box of your product it specificly sais i can RECORD using this product and it doesn't say I need to purchase an additional thing in order to make it work(also in your website). I paid over 200 american dollars for your product and I think That's totaly unfaire twords your customers. Please reply I am getting desprate with this thing.

I'm using an M Audio Fast track pro interface, to send my output signals to my monitors, however, i can't seem to find a way to do it, when using my Line 6 GX. Is there any possibility i could still use the Line 6, but use my m-audio interface, to carry on sending output signals to my speakers, so i don't constantly have to use headphones when i'm playing/recording guitar?

POD Farm Plugin Audio Cuts In/Out When I Edit- But Works Otherwise???

I have a registered POD XT Live, which I use (as a dongle, effectively) with the basic POD Farm, which was a free download in September. When I instantiate the plugin inside Cubase (4.52), all is well. The sound is fine and works as it should.

THE PROBLEM: When I open the POD Farm Plugin GUI to change an amp tone, or otherwise edit the sound, I get audio dropouts lasting several seconds at a whack, interspersed with an occasional (brief) bit of sound. It makes editing the tone virtually impossible. Once I close the GUI, the plugin works fine again.

THE SYSTEM: It's a Quad Core AMD 2.8 w 4 gigs of RAM. I have Guitar Rig 3 and a few other amp sims that work perfectly at the 256 buffer setting I use. The size of the project doesn't matter, I get this problem even if it's the only track in the project.I also have a UAD Duo and Liquid Mix, which both operate without issues. Bottom line is that the system is brutally powerful and this is the only glitch. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the POD Farm, as well as all of the other drivers.

I would really appreciate a fix for this, as I'm very pleased with the sound of the POD Farm and would like to be able to rely on it. As it sits, it's worthless. Please help.

when im starting to power up my ux8, its working nicely. but after a few minutes turning on. the signal clips blinks on and off the line 6 monkey

detects that theres no usb firmware installed so i connect and reconnect again the usb, still the same. when itry to update that selection no response from the monkey

It is regarding POD Studio UX2 operation. Currently owning UX2 and Variax 600. Typically when playing a song, will switching the Variax 600 to acoustic guitar and set the Gearbox's amp and effect to a configuration for the acoustic guitar. Down the song, when come to the 'solo' part, which typically will switch to electric guitar on the Variax 600, will also wish to switch to another set of configuration for the amp and effect. Any advise on this endeavor with the current devices I own or is there any additional device I will need to make this endeavor possible?

Read about footswitch in the UX2 and MIDI cc on the Gearbox. Seem like these features are relatively close to making the job above. Any advise on the procedure if these features are possible to do the job. Thanks in advance.

Blue screen with POD Studio UX1

Recently i'm on Windows 7 (Ultimate Version) and now I've got 'Blue screens" showing the following Stop Message :

L6UX1.SYS Address 9237B0B1 base at 9236A000, DateStamp 4a53c2b9

The first times, bluescreens appear while I was listening MP3 ine Windows media player, then in Winamp. My UX1 is my default sound material.

I had the bluescreen a few times when watching Videos on MPC Home Cinema and another time whereas I do nothing on my computer.

The message on bluescreen is always the same and showing an UX1 conflict. I think it can be an incompatibility problem with Win 7 and UX1 Driver. When I was on Wondows XP, I never had such problem.

Je suis récemment passé sous Windows 7 (version intégrale) et depuis, je rencontre un problème de type "écran bleu windows" (blue screen) m'affichant le stop message suivant : L6UX1.SYS Address 9237B0B1 base at 9236A000, DateStamp 4a53c2b9

Les premières fois le bluescreen est apparue durant l'écoute de MP3 sous Windows media player puis sous Winamp. A savoir que mon UX1 est mon périphérique audio par défaut.

J'ai rencontré le problème plusieurs fois en regardant une video avec MPC Home Cinema puis, à nouveau le même problème sans faire quoique ce soit.

L'erreure ne se produit pas intantanément et de façon aléatoire. Le message d'erreur du bluescreen étant toujours le même et indiquant le UX1 comme conflit, je soupçone un problème de compatibilité entre le Driver du UX1 et Windows 7. Je n'ai jamais eu de tels problèmes sous Windows XP.

I've registrated the program on web site, i've activated the ilok license and download it in the key.

I tried to open Pod farm Platinum with ilok plugged in but the program that run it's the normal Pod farm.

I'm running two SM 57s through the mic inputs on the toneport, and into my Macbook pro via USB. The computer sees the toneport, but the toneport doesn't seem to register any signal (the "level" meters on the unit do not move, and the software (garageband) also doesn't show any signal coming through. I have updated the drivers and the firmware to the latest versions.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to have a really simple and portable studio setup. I read about the KB37 and I'm really curious as to whether it (Along with a laptop, Cubase, instruments/mics and a set of headphones or studio monitors) is everything I'd need to do record/mix an entire project. Does the KB37 act as a low latency ASIO sound card? Or would I also need an external soundcard like an M-audio Fast track Pro or a Presonus Firebox to get the full mix output (including midi vsts and all inserts) to headphones or monitors? Also, can you completely bypass all the Line6 software and just use it as a digital interface to record dry and then use other plugins like Guitar Rig or are you forced to always have extra Line6 software running?

It seems potentially really powerful but if I'd need another DI Box or couldn't just bypass all the Line6 Software when I would like to just record and use other tools, I'm probably better off to just buy a small USB sound card and midi keyboard. Thoughts?

HP laptop vs. POD Studio UX2

Hey, I have a Line 6 POD Studio UX2, and also have a HP laptop. But everytime i got to use my UX2, theres big time glitches comming from my headphones. I tried everything that other people told me, and also what the manuels told me to do, i also called the support line, and still didnt help. So now im wondering if there something i can change in my computer, for it to not have any glitches sound? Because one of the guys told me from support is that POD studios dont work well with HP laptops, witch I find rediculouse, so any help would be awsome. Thanks.

Toneport DI - Gold vs iLok, How can I select which license to use

I own 3 PodFarm licenses (1xUx2, 1xTonport Gold, 1xiLok)

So the ilok version is the basic version, which i got when it was free, cause the toneport gold is annoying the hell out of me when traveling. Sadly I can't transfer my model packages to the ilok license.

But there's the horrible part: At home I have the toneport gold plugged in AND my ilok (due other licenses I need).

If I run PODFarm standalone I can get all my models (Gold). As soon as load the podfarm plugin in logic 9, it lists the iLok as authorized device. If I unplug the ilok it switches the DI-Gold, but as soon as I plug the ilok back in, it authorises of the ilok. (which reduces the number of amp models to min set)

So I need the ilok plugged for other purposes , but I still wanna use all the models.

How do I force the plug-in to the authorize of the dI-gold and let the ilok license in piece???

It is not helping if the pod farm plugin is automatically choosing the smallest license!

Or can I trade my basic ilok podfarm for ilok platinum and on the same token downgrade my DI-GOLD to silver - basically swap them ??

POD x3 Amp Emulations and Tones

I really need assistance with this matter. Is it possible to hook an external mixer to the ux 2? I have a yamaha mg 12/4, now can I go from the main outs of the mixer to the line inputs of the ux2? if so how do I do this? cause in pod farm you have to select the line input 1 or 2 right? I want to hook up a mic pre amp too, so is it possible to hook these things up?

Gearbox plugin connction problem after Podfarm install

Is there some kind of conflict between these 2 programs. I have owned GB plugin since it came out(using it in Cubase). I have it installed in Podxt and I installed the free Podfarm plug in Toneport ux2.

Now the GB shows as not connected in cubase. Podfarms size is just too big to use in my DAW or I would just use that. I like GB's small size--thats why I bought it. I uninstalled Podfarm on UX2 and refreshed my GB in Monkey but still no luck. All my drivers are up to date and I am familiar with connection trouble shooting/rebooting/unplugging usb and so forth.. I have mixes to do.

any ideas?

I´ve been using my UX1 with an Intel-based laptop running WXP Sp3 and it worked perfectly for the last months. One month ago, I got an HP TX2000 series laptop (AMD Turion X2, Ati Radeon 3200, 2gb RAM) running Vista and my UX1 just can´t seem to work. I´ve updated everything to the latest drivers, tried disabling Wireless, Onboard Soundcard and everything that has been sugested in this forum, but nothing seems to work. When I change buffer sizes I get some difference (some sounds I play in the guitar are recognizable) but it´s still no good. Is there any known issue with Toneport UX1 and Vista or AMD?

I am trying to use a volume pedal with my UX2. Can someone confirm that this is possible at all? The UX2 has 2 'footswitch' outputs and I have tried connecting various volume/expression pedals to both of them, including a genuine Line6 volume pedal, but it does not work. In fact, I can't get any footswitch to do anything..... It would be good to be able to use a latch-type footswitch to do punch-in and out during recording/overdubbing. I would be grateful for any hints and tips. I read all the documentation I could find, but to no avail.

I have been struggling for quite a while to get Pod Farm to work in Sonar 8.0. If I run Pod Farm stand alone it works great. As soon as I attempt to use Pod Farm as a Plug-in in Sonar the tone goes from great to horrendously awful. I have done all of the obvious things that I can think of, including updating to the latest version of Pod Farm, making sure the firmware on the Guitarport is up to date, checking and adjusting the buffers in Sonar, and so on. I'm not sure what to do next. If someone has a list of systematic steps to follow so that I can identify and resolve my setup I would be very, very appreciative. Here are some details about my computer:

Pentium D dual core running at 3.00ghz

3 GB ram

Plenty of SATA hard drive space

Delta 66 Audio card with most current M-Audo drivers

Guitar Port interface

Pod Farm with fully activated plugin packs

Latest Line 6 divers (verified by Line 6 monkey v. 1.31)

Sonar 8.3.1 installed

Symptoms when I use Pod Farm in Sonar:

Recordings are jittery, and break up.

Sound cuts out intermittently.

Has a tone similar to a ring modulator, even when I am using a basic setup (JC-120 model with no effects - no chorus or anything else)

I'm feeling very frustrated because I can't seem to figure out how to resolve this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should try next?

Problems with UX2 and video+audio

Alright, so basically I have this damn annoying problem with my UX2.

It overruns my normal soundcard, which is what it's supposed to do of course. I disabled my internal soundcard. I had some problems with crackling but I thought I solved that by changing USB port and optimizing my PC.

Turns out, the audio starts crackling hard when I, like watch a video on youtube, or when I play music out of anywhere in general whilst something on the screen in moving. Even when I scroll in IE, it starts crackling. When someone comes online on MSN while I am typing this, it is enormous crackle. And the stupid thing is, CPU usage doesn't go above like 20% or something. I just want to be able to properly watch video's on YouTube, or listen to some music while surfing the internet, without having annoying crackles. Oh and it doesn't crackle when I'm using podfarm (which also moves, but apparently doesn't affect anything... UX2 is set as soundcard everywhere, so any interferring is not possible)

tl:dr; audio starts crackling whenever something on the screen is moving.

What do I do? I already tried adjusting stuff in the MIDI control panel (you know, Control Panel -> Line 6)

Specs: Acer Aspire 9414ZWSMi

Intel Pentium Dualcore 1.86 GHz, 120 GB harddrive, 2GB DDR2, GeForce GO 7300 up to 400 mb.

Bad Sound

Hi.

I got the podfarm just above one week ago.

I was happy with sound etc. But wanted more bass amp.

So i bought expansion package.

And after downloading/following instructions

my pod farm lost its good sound.

Before the basspackage i was able to play along with songs,

but now i can hardly hear the bassguitar while playing.

I can almost hear it as well from my fingers then from my headphone.

This was not a problem before getting bassexpasnion.

After getting this troubles, i uninstalled everything in order to reinstall, got cd.

But nothing happend, just the same problems.

Actualy i was not able to install at all, so i downloaded the podfarm from your

netpage.

Whats up with my pod?

I notized while reading instruction, trying to figure out whats wrong, there are no plugins

in the folders where they are supposed to be according to instruction.

Pod 2.0, conneting to computer

I'm trying to connect my pod 2.0 to my computer so i can download different tones/ effects. I have bought what i think are the correct midi cables ( its a MIDI USB IN and OUT... im not very familer with any of this). The cables connect into the pod easily and have put the MIDI IN cable and OUT in the correct slot in the pod.

I downloaded the Line 6 edit and Line 6 Monkey but have had problems getting it to recognise my Pod 2.0. When I insert the USB into an open slot in my computer, the computer recognises the device (a balloon comes up saying its recognised device and ready to use). BUT... on the line 6 edit when i try to configure i click "Refresh"... nothing happens, so i click add and select my Pod 2.0 and click "ok" and i get "no device" "Could not connect to pod 2.0, please check all MIDI and power connections and click 'refresh' in the tone locker" and i still cant get it to recognise.

On the MIDI cable i have the power LED light lit... but there are 2 other LED lights IN and OUT which arent lit. Everything seems to be connected fine.

Any ideas? any advice would be great!

I can't find a straight answer for this anywhere.

I have a Tone Port DI, which came with the GearBox Gold bundle. I got the free upgrade to Pod Farm (Platinum). I have other audio interfaces, so the Tone Port is just a big dongle, and I would much rather use my iLok for Pod Farm (which I use as a plugin, never standalone).

Exactly how much would it cost to transfer the PodFarm Platinum license to my iLok?

I have the Gear Box Plugins Gold package and I'm using a Tone Port DI to run them ( I don't use it as a sound card )

I use the Tone Port UX2 for my sound card.

Mac OS 10.5.7

Logic 8.0.2

I keep getting this message..

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

If I restart Logic it will work and then just the plugin will stop working at random times.

I've tried different usb ports as well.

This is a pain.

How can we fix this ?

Also all the line 6 drivers/software is up to date.

Using PodFarm and Gearbox as plug-in

Bought a Toneport UX2 a couple of years ago. Been using it a lot lately with Garageband. Downloaded the latest version of Gearbox and added PodFarm. I just discovered it could be used as a plug-in. When I try to do so with either, Garageband recognizes them but I get Line6 error messages.

With PodFarm, it's the one that says something like "an authorized device is not connected or blah-blah-blah." Went to Monkey and tried to activate by typing in Refresh per a post I'd read. It goes to the server, downloads some add-ons and says transaction was successful. But then I have the same problem back on Garageband. Is it possible that I now need to purchase a license for this software for $49?

That's fine since PodFarm came out after my Toneport but I have the same problem with Gearbox. I would have assumed I was already licensed for Gearbox plug-in use when I bought the Toneport. When I open it in Garageband, I get a message that says I need to activate Gearbox and when I try to click it, it says that Monkey is not installed - which is incorrect.

So what do I have to do to get one or both of these guys going? Thanks in advance.

I have a Toneport UX1 which has been happily connected to my PC and working for over a year.

Yesterday, I launched PODFarm standalone and it complained that no compatible device was detected.

I took the time to dowload the latest drivers, monkey, gearbox and podfarm and re-installed them all.

Still, no apps can see the Toneport.

Note :

The green light is on.

The Toneport is my audio interface - windows sees it and it works.

ASIO Drivers see the Toneport and work with it, too. I can still get sound out of it.

Anyone seen this before - any ideas of what to try next ?

Hi, we have had the Toneport Ux2 for over 12 months now and have not yet used it till today as been busy working and editing midi files on Cubase; We have mixed down our files to audio tracks now and I have been told that we should use the Toneport as an interface between the laptop and our mixer for playing back our music for live performance. I have connected the system as such; from USB on laptop to the USB on the Toneport, then from the two Analog Outs of the toneport to the channel inputs on our soundcraft desk. I have previously connected the laptop directly to the mixer via the headphone output of the laptop and have been able to play the files. However, on connecting the Toneport, we are unable to open the Windows Media Files to play the audio tracks we wish too; I have also tried connecting from the headphones output on laptop to the Line Inputs of the Toneport and have still had no success. Failing this I went to the section on the toolbox to load tracks into Toolbox and play them through there though it wouldnt let me do this either. I know there is something simple and silly that I have overseen but could use some help on this to use our Toneport.

Toneport UX2 - Huge glitching problems on Windows Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 - HELP!

I'm using a Toneport UX2 on my PC (Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83ghz with 8gb RAM).

I had been using this without issue on a 32bit Vista system up until recently. I'm getting "glitching" (cracking, popping) during playback of any audio (*including playing guitar, cd's, even windows tones).

I was using Vista 64 but today upgraed to Widnows 7; I thought Win7 might take care of these issues but they're still there. I;ve tried the new Windows 7 beta drivers. I;ve tried messing about with latency settings, 16 bit, 24 bit, 32 bit options etc. No Joy!!!

Can anyone help with this? I have read about others with this problem but posts seem old and nobody seem to have an answer in anything I've found to date.

I've spent alot of cash on this gear and the add-ons, I really dont want to have to buy something non-Line 6 just to get over this.

Any comments/thoughts would be appreciated.

I have tried in several ways on how to load the plug-in but I still haven't really found how, I have loaded it by adding an effect channel on a track and it loads but it doesn't detects sound and I don't hear anything, I set the VST Audiobay to an ASIO UX1 (which I think is my pod studio device) and it seems that Cubase detects the sound I'm playing with my guitar but when I load Pod Farm it doesn't detects sound and therefore I can't hear anything. I recently bought the UX2 and I'm having some difficulty recording. Actually I'm not able to record anything at all. I'm using cool edit pro 2.0 at the moment. I am able to use pod farm and get sound through the headphones and output signals but when I try and record I have sound but no signal registering in my recording software. Thats is to say I have the sounds and tones I'm using in pod farm but nothing in my recording software as I record or when I try and playback the recording. It seems like this is just a simple error in settings but I haven't been able to fix the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have been using Pod Farm without any problems for over a year in Pro Tools 7 and Pro Tools 8. I just switched from an Apple 5 to a MacPro 8-core. I uploaded the latest drivers and version 1.11. The Pod Farm stand alone works fine, but the VST plug-in causes problems in Native Instruments Kore 2 (the program freezes while launching, while it is scanning the Pod Farm plug-in) and the RTAS plug-in causes Pro Tools 8 to freeze while trying to open the Pod Farm plug-in. Please help, I have been trouble shouting for a day now, trying older versions, etc. Nothing seems to work and I am on a couple of deadlines.

Unable to select Mic input

I'm running PodFarm on OSX and when I plug in a mic on my KB37, I'm unable to select it in PodFarm. I'm only able to select Instrument. Logic and Garage Band don't seem to be too helpful in determining how to get the mic to work. The keyboard doesn't work in PodFarm or Logic, but I am able to use the keyboard in Garage Band.

My laptop broke down some time ago so I got myself a new one. I installed Gearbox and Toneport UX2 drivers but I can't get them to work properly. I use FL studio as my main DAW and every time I start it I get massive amounts of digital crackling and stuttering. This also happens when I start Gearbox. I can't play mp3 music through UX2 either. I've tried maximazing all possible buffers, shutting down all the other audio devices and so forth and I have the latest drivers but nothing seems to work. Once after I booted the system I got a few seconds of proper operation, but then the crackling started again and I haven't been able to replicate this behaviour.

If anyone has any useful advice, it would be appreciated greatly. I'm getting rather desperate not being able to make music.

My laptop is HP Pavilion DV7-2050eo with an AMD Turion X2 dualcore processor and 4GB of RAM and my primary audio device is an "IDT Audio" high definition audio device.

So I've had the toneport ux2 for about a year and recently bought an imac. I installed gearbox and when I connected the Toneport nothing lit up. I downloaded the drivers off of the Line 6 website and installed them and now the Toneport lights up, but does not read my guitar when I connect it and play (the knobs on the LED readers don't move and I don't get a sound/reading in gearbox.)

Is there any way possible to get replacement discs for Podfarm Platinum, Abelton Live, and Reason. I just purchased a TonePort KB37 and the box didn't include any of the discs. I paid $350.00 (US) for it and expected to be able to use it right out of the box, but I have no use for it if I have nothing to use it with. I specifically bought it for the PodFarm plug in. I just recently bought a Macbook and have just been installing Gearbox to use in conjunction with Logic Pro 9. However, upon installing and going to use it, despite being plugged in and the meter lights on the UX2 being lit, whenever I open Gearbox it cannot connect to it/doesn't recognise that it's even plugged in. I went into system preferences to look at the settings etc and on clicking the "Pod Xt Family USB" icon I got the message

"Can't open because it doesn't work on an intel based mac"

Please advise as I would like to use my UX2 with my Macbook.

Gearbox PodFarm interaction errors- unsupported patch

Firstly I do not understand why I have to use Gearbox to get tones in and out of my PodXT Live. Why can't PodFarm do that for me? It makes no sense not to have the functionality of PodFarm and Gearbox integrated into one application but the PodFarm standalone does not work with the PodXT Live.

Anyway, given that I do, I am having problems. If I modify a tone in the PodFarm plugin in my DAW e.g. just by adding a note, when I try to load that tone again in Gearbox (say I wanted to put the tone back onto the PodXT Live) then the tone will not load. I get the message "Unable to Load Tone. Reason: (Code 8000A009) Unsupported patch type.

I also don't understand the difference between the .gpt files that seem to come out of my PodXT Live and the l6t files that PodFarm seems to want to save

Can anyone shed any light on this and, more importantly, fix it? Currently I can find no way of modifying a tone in the PodFarm plugin on my DAW and then playing it live on the Pod

I'am having problems installing my Toneport KB 37. On numerous occasions i have installed the software following the disc orders. For exapmle: My Gearbox version 3 states "Install this software BEFORE connecting your hardware. I install the gearbox along with the KB 37 divers and plug in when asked to towards the end of set-up. However my computer fails to recognise the toneport is plugged in. When plugged into my hub the KB37 does have two flashing lights. in the past i have tried using many downladable drivers to help solve my problem but to no joy. To be honest i'm not the most technically minded person so please help.

I have an Advent laptop, Windows Vista if that helps?

Pops/clicks in Vista-64

I previously had Windows XP 32-bit installed with my KB37 TonePort and POD Farm software...seemed to run fine.

Then, I upgraded to Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium and now I get periodic pops/cracks in the sound. These pop/cracks happen when using my guitar through the KB37 TonePort with POD Farm and even when just listening to MP3s. I believe the problem lies withing the ASIO drivers and how they interact with a Vista 64 environment...not 100% sure though.

I have tried the tweaks presented here http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-1490 , but to no avail. Has Line6 identified the cause of the problem and have a "get-well" date and patch to fix this? I am deeply concerned with being able to continue use of this equipment and future Line6 purchases. It would be disappointing to have to look to other companies for my equipment & software. Your support is highly appreciated!

im using pro tools 8.0.1 with dual monitors with windows xp when i open pod farm as an insert it hangs on the right hand monitor but not on the left hand one. I can scroll through all the amps and everything when the plug in is opened on the left hand monitor but not on the right. Even if i put the plugin in the middle of the 2 screens the left hand side will scroll but the right wont. Has any one else had this problem also has any one had any plugins that conflict with pod farm ive been pulling my hair out with this for about 4 weeks. PLEASE HELP!

crackling noise coming from ux1 interface

I have had my ux1 now for a few months. it worked well on windows xp, although it did crackle a bit but it was tolerable.

I recently bought a new laptop with vista premium and the noise that it produced was ridiculous!!

I got a windows 7 upgrade when i bought the laptop but even when that arrived it was still terrible

the noise is like a horrible crackling sound and you can just barely make out the sound of the audio im playing back underneith it.

This makes my ux1, pod farm and riffworks completely useless because they only work with line 6 interfaces.

since the ux1 is my only interface my sonar 7 is now useless too.

if its not fixed soon ill have to sell the line 6 and buy an m-audio or guitar rig usb interface which i didnt want to do.

what can i do to sort this problem out??

i need a reply asap please or this is the last line 6 product ill ever buy.

Lagging / Delays

I am running my UX2 through POD Farm and Reaper for my recording software. Lately I have been experiencing some lagging when I play, for example I'll play a note and it will be picked up half-a-second later. I noticed it starting to happen when my band recorded the drums and I set POD farm to dry input, after this when I changed it back to processed I started noticing the problem. I tried messing around with the buffering settings and muted the track while recording, this is what the Guitar Center employee told me, but it went to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

I own a POD X3 PRO and now try to get PODfarm working in Cubase LE. For reasons I don't understand Cubase can't find PODfarm however standalone PODfarm seems to work fine. I have tried to activate this application in Line6 Monkey, but as I do not have a licensekey I get "transaction failed code 80003024" (probably PODfarm is already activated as I own the POD X3 Pro). When I try to open PODfarm standalone I noticed it does not recognize the POD X# Pro; I need to choose another device (UX1 for instance).

I hope you can help me with this issue.

Hi.

I have a Toneport KB 37, a variax acoustic 700 and workbench. I've bought a laptop in the summer to use as a dedicated homestudio. It had Windows Vista on it, the KB37 worked fine but the recording software was plagued with problems due to Vista's clumsiness. I gave up and waited for Windows 7 which promised to be better. It seems it is but I'm guessing I don't have the right drivers for Windows 7 and i can't seem to find them on your website.

Have I missed them?

I just bought POD Farm for my Mac running Logic Studio Pro 8. After running Line 6 monkey it informed me there was a newer version, which I downloaded and installed. Now upon booting Logic Pro POD farm v1.11 repeatedly fails the AU validation scan procedure and has to be disabled for Logic to run. So far I cannot use POD farm until this is resolved. See the text string below for details.

Planning on purchasing Studio UX2

The box includes Ableton Live lite 4 and I have a few question about this.

Once the 4 tracks have been utilised can I save as an MP3 or WAVE?

CAn this saved file then be reopened as a single track? Why format can I save projects in?

I'm not looking to be the next Phil Spector, I just wanna know if I can play around with multi tracks.

How Do You Connect PC Speakers To UX2?

Hi, I want to use the spare rear speakers for my Creative Inspire 5.1 5100 speaker system that is normally connected to my PC. As I said, I don't have the two rear speakers connected and instead have connected them to the analog outs of the UX2. The speakers themselves have phono outputs so I connected these to a phono-to-1/4 jack input and then plugged those into the analog outs of the UX2. I then set the UX 2 as my default soundcard for both playback and recording in XP's audio settings (I currently also have a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 soundcard as default but I just changed it around to the UX2) but I hear no sound coming through the speakers when I try to play a music file for example. I can see the needles on the two level gauges at the front of the UX2 moving around so I know that sound is going through but I just can't hear it via the speakers. I tried disabling my Audigy soundcard and restarting the PC and still get the same results. Am I doing something wrong? I've opened up Gearbox but there doesn't seem to be any setting for selecting the analog outs or anything.

This then leads me to another problem, once I get the speakers working and have the UX2 as my default soundcard, I then want to make use of the ASIO driver so that I can use my Behringer UMX49 USB keyboard as a midi controller in my M-Audio Session software. I have tried selecting the UX2 as the ASIO driver in Session but it always comes back with errors saying it is either already being used or isn't connected. I know that the UX2 has supports for Reason and Garageband amongst others but I just want to be able to play midi keyboard through Session as a piano rather than having to use my huge Yamaha non-midi keyboard for practicing (I am currently having piano lessons). Does Toneport not work well with M-Audio's Session software? If not does that mean I have to get another piece of software instead? My piano teacher has a Mac and Garageband as well as the UX2 and a midi keyboard and all of them seem to work in harmony and she has speakers connected to her UX2's analog outs and has no problems, I just want to be able to do the same.

Sorry for the very long post and all the questions but I really don't know what to do and the Gearbox manual is just a waste of time. Thanks for any help you can give.

I am considering purchasing the Pod Studio UX2 for some quick and easy first-time home demo-ing. I really like the idea of the UX2 hardware, particularly the fact that it seems to be optimised for recording guitar, and the zero latency monitoring feature, but I have some queries about the bundled DAW software. I am reasonably familiar with Cubase but I have never used Ableton before. I wondered if anyone here could provide me with a few bits of specific info?

Does the version of Ableton that is bundled with Pod Studio support VST plug-ins? There are a number of VST plug-ins that I really like and would want to be able to use them if I can.

I read on the forums here that the 16 tracks you get with the UX2 is actually 8 real audio tracks and 8 midi tracks? Is this definitely the case and if so does that mean there is no way to get 16 real audio tracks in this version of Ableton?

Does anyone know how easy it is to move projects between Ableton and other DAW programs, such as Cubase? The reason I ask is that my band mates work in Cubase and we often email eachother small projects to work on when we are writing. I'd like to know if I'd be able to port audio tracks from Cubase into an Ableton project? I suppose I could do it on a "wav by wav" basis? Conversely can you export wavs so that my band mates can import back to Cubase?

No Sound: Toneport DI-G

I have recently purchased a new Toneport DI-Gold. The program opens up and installs just fine, but when I proceed to plug in my guitar (which works on other amplifiers), I hear no sound. My guitar cord is brand new as well. I have installed all the latest drivers for the program, and done every update Line6 Monkey has to offer. I have checked to make sure that the USB drives are functional, as well as making sure the gearbox is using the sound card on my laptop for playback. My gear is registered, I have looked at threads for help, I have extensively read the PDF (though I may have missed something), and I am out of ideas. I have checked everything I can think of: my sound works, my headphones (should I choose to use them) work, and everything seems completely functional with the toneport. I am even considering setting it as my default speaker and buying a headphone adapter (size 1/4 inch) so I can plug into the toneport and listen directly from there. However, I don't want to have to do that.

I also feel it is important to let you know that the GearBox indeed detects my guitar: When I strum a note, it shows up on the meter, as well as on the tuner.

After running a compatibility check, everything passes but:

- the chipset (it says I may have limited privelages, but I doubt that means no sound)

- My processor, Intel(R) DuoCore P6800 @ 2.4GHz (I read from one of your support threads that I need not put too much weight on what the monkey says)

- Drive DMA mode (Apparently mine is in PIO, but I don't know how to change it. Perhaps the problem?)

I may be able to take into a different room and use it with a desktop for troubleshooting's sake, but it cannot stay there.

I am using a 2 month old dell laptop, with 32-bit version of vista.

UX2 Loud noise when running pod farm

i recently bought a pod studio ux2 about last week. i have been recording fairly well until about yesterday

everytime i load pod farm, i get a very loud noise at the outputs. this noise comes up on the level monitors in pod farm

and in adobe audition which i use to record. the noise does not come out to the phones output.

i have since tried reinstalling pod farm, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers and changing the usb ports of the device and properly configuring them

this loud noise overpowers any input i might want to record thus making it impossible to record anything other than the noise.

i have seen other posts similar to this and have also tried plugging and unplugging the usb ports. i have also tried turning the phantom power switch on and off a number of times before, during and after reconnecting.

the last thing i did before the problem arised was try to monitor my yamaha psr 1100 (basic midi keyboard) which i had also connected to my pc from adobe audition onto my ux2, which i had done a number of times before.

i bought this item in tom lee hong kong while on vacation and am now back in the philippines.

please help. i am completely at a loss. i dont know what to do.

if not, are there other programs which i can use to configure the ux2 other than pod farm? i dont know if this is a software or a hardware problem.

I posted a thread a few weeks ago about my toneport having sudden failures. The instrument inputs all of the sudden became extremely degraded. I haven't violated anything in the warranty. My toneport has been sitting in my rack since its arrival to my door in March. I am needing to get a new one or have it repaired soon so I can get back on recording, Since it was purchased in march and I have a 1 year warranty on it I would like to know how I can redeem my warranty and have a working interface once again. Custom preset changes tone with different laptop

I was using a tohsiba laptop connected to my tone port UX1 and was using it as a EQ in the effects loop of my amplifier. Now my laptop has changed and I set up my new laptop to authorize the tone ports using the line 6 monkey and after that the same preset is sound absolutely horrible. I have copied the file I created on the old laptop, I even recreated every parameter unit to unit and still it doesnt sound like the old one. I know that the DSP engine works in the UX1, but this has baffled me. I used the EQ to get a good smooth distortion with a mid boost, some thing like VAI and now I am missing it. I can get my old laptop, hence I am in a fix as I am in the middle of a session recording and my producer will be mad at me.

I have seen a few other people with the same problem as me, when I try to launch POD farm I get this message: "POD Farm failed to initialize L6TWXY framework. (Code0x80007401)"

I am running Vista 64 bit, that is the only thing that I think could be a problem as I had to download a new version of Gearbox for Vista 64 bit. I just downloaded POD farm today so I cannot understand why it would not have 64 bit support.

Computer Blue Screens after upgrading Toneport Drivers

Just purchased a Gear Box Plug In package (Gold Version) that includes a Toneport DI-G USB interface. After using the included CD to load Gearbox version 3 and the included Toneport V3.2.7.0 drivers - everything worked fine (both Gearbox and Podfarm).

I then used the Line 6 Monkey to upgrade Gearbox from R3.0 to R3.7 and the Toneport Drivers from V3.2.7.0 to V3.4.3.8. This worked the first time I reconnected the Toneport but after disconnecting and reconnecting once - the computer attempted to re-install the Toneport drivers and then blue screened. Now everytime I plug in the Toneport the computer tries to re-install the drivers and then blue screens.

I tried re-installing the V3 gearbox software and this allowed the Toneport drivers (V3.2.7.0) to be installed and seems to work. But as soon as I upgrade Gearbox and the Toneport drivers - the computer again blue screens (this has occured at least 10 times now).

I have also tried other USB ports on the same computer and end up with the same problem after upgrading. (i.e. the Toneport works the first time it is upgraded and then blue screens after being disconnected and reconnected).

Is this a known problem? Is there a work around?

UX1 Recording Acoustic

I have recorded with my acoustic using the 1/4 inch standard input but it sounds rather electonic.. I'm not sure if it's the pickup which is a piezo or if there is a better way to record. My Strat sounds great though with no issues there.. Can I use a mic in the xlr port or can I use an acoustic directly connected using an xlr output? What type of mic would be recommended? Also I see that the UX1 does not supply phantom power can a separate power supply be used? Any info on this would be appreciated.

UX2 Pod Farm

I was wondering about installing Pod Farm 1.11.0 (L6TWXY Version 4.22.0) on 2 of my computers. If i do so, will they both allow me to authorize/use the same Studio UX2 on both of them if i activate it on both? Also, since I've already activated it/installed it on this one, but it won't run it garageband. When I open podfarm in garageband, it says no authorized device at the bottom. But the stand alone Podfarm says my Ux2 is connected. If it helps, I'm running a mac with OS X 10.4.11 on it.

hello...my device was working properly up until an hour ago. i had a guitar plugged in the normal input...with my hand on the strings i grabed a speaker cord to plug into a monitor and when i grabbed the cord the it made a loud buzzing through the speakers. now the instrument inputs on the toneport seem to be damaged. is it possible that a current ran from my hand to the strings then back to the toneport frying something in the input section? if so what did it damage and how can i have it repaired. thanks for your help.

Everything works fine with my midi keyboard (Edirol PCR 300) but when I try to play guitar through my UX2, i get no sound out

I have installed all disc,s (pod farm ver. 1 livelite7, riffworks, reason adapted) i have completed all product activates, and updates apart for pod farm 1.00 to 1.11, this has failed in spite of 3 attempts, i have sound through the headphone socket on the pod and also from the pod via my amp. But have yet to find any way of recording to my computer.

Can you help me with simple instruction on how to check my installation, i do not want to use the pod as my normal sound card.

KB37 noise when used as play interface

Hello I am having this "noise" problem. When I am using the KB37 as a play card (listenind to music trought it) I am getting this strange "interference noise" I've attached a sound I just record to exemplify my problem.

The problem is intermitent. Sometimes it start when I am watching something in Youtube or listening to my iTunes colection. I've try to restart the computer and the noise keep coming back.

Error trying to return model packs

The deposit doesn't succeed though it executed again many times.

iLok.com account is normally made, and other plug-in licenses were able to be deposited.

How to connect acoustic guitar with built-in piezo pickup and preamp to TonePort UX2

Hi,

I experience a problematic performance of my piezo-acoustic guitar with built-in active preamp/eq when trcording through instrument input on my TonePort UX2. The sound is thin, full of harmonics and subtle resonances, and I can hear more of a staccato than a melodic string sound. I/ve tried everything: changing the preamp's battery, checking out cables, changing strings, picks etc - all of them with no effect. Yesterday by chance I came up with an idea to plug the guitar into line input at the back of my UX2 and the guitar finally started to perform as it should! The difference is huge.

And here comes a question: how should such a guitar be connected to UX2? Should I use front Instrument normal input, or stick to back Line input?

And maybe the Instrument Input is corrupted and makes also my electric guitar and bass sound unnatural? Is there any way to check it out in terms of sound quality (No, I don't have any other guitar interface to compare with)?

More info:

- I record through Gearbox with ALL the amps/mics/cabinets/effects off

- I keep levels securely under peaks, no possibility of distortion

- Recording is done with the same software and settings in both cases (instrument normal/line in)

- I/ve also checked my piezo-acoustic guitar through Instrument pad input, as it has lower sensitivity. The sound was slightly better than the one recorded through normal instrument input but worse than line input option

the pickup/preamp/eq built into my acoustic guitar is signed by Shadow, should work well at least.

So, to put it another way:

- how should I connect acoustic guitar with piezo pick-up and active preamp to UX2;

- how can I know if the UX2 Instrument input doesn't lower also the quality of my electric guitar and bass sound?

I have a couple issues with the UX2 on my Imac.

Monkey tells me that i have all the current drivers etc.

1) Although it works for the most part,

When opening Pod Farm as a stand alone, I always have to choose the UX2 if I start Pod Farm where it used to be able to find it.

2) If possible, How can i get the UX2 to record two inputs at the same time, on seperate tracks in logic 9 ?

for example: Mic 1 and Inst 1 (Gear box seemed to offer this, although I never tried it)

3) Is it possible yet to choose the UX2 inputs within the logic as the host app?

I am in the great position of having my ilok stolen. It was stolen from my laptop bag at Malga airport which security would not allow through, because of two kensington laptop padlocks!, therefore I had to put the bag back through check in. KB37 Laptop Issue (noise, distortion etc)

I've read most of the posts relating to issues with the KB37 working with laptops, I've followed the PDF instructions and disabled everything on my laptop, tried all 4 usb ports on it and still get TONS of distortion and noise when trying to play audio. It doesnt matter what settings I change, what buffers settings I use etc.

I have a gateway MD2614u laptop, AMD Turion X2 RM-72 CPU @ 2.0Ghz.

Has anyone had any luck with using a usb expansion card, instead of using the built in usb?

Should I sell this and get something else? I've been using it flawlessly on my pc for years, but now it's time to take it on the road.

Hy guys, i need you help with this one

I have aquired a second Toneport UX1 and have successfully registered the serial number to my account.

I have also purchased the license key for Pod Farm Plug-in. (i am considering buying the Metal Shop and Fx Junky model packs providing this following problem is sorted out)

I have a Macbook AND a Windows PC and wish to have Pod Farm Plug-in running on BOTH computers simultaneously. I have been successful in activating the license key on my macbook but sadly when i tried to activate Pod Farm license key on my windows pc, it said that it was already registered to TonePort UX1 - ESN 1664363

Is there any way possible for me to use the same license key on both computers without having to buy it again.

The reason why I have 2 of the Toneport UX1 is so that I can be running both computers simultaneously with a toneport plugged into my Macbook and the other toneport plugged into my Windows PC (this helps to get work done faster in my home studio)

How can i successfully use the same Pod Farm Plug-In License Key on both devices without purchasing a second license key. (I think that its ridiculous that i have to buy the exact same thing a second time)

Problem with POD Farm VST Plugin on POD Studio GX Device.

Hi everyone.

I have some problems with my Pod Farm plugin. It does not proccess any sound. I'm working under Reaper 2.x and when I load the podfarm nothing happens. Plugin receives no input. All other ampsims (i.e. various freeware and commercial ampsims ) work just fine.

I thought that it may have been a problem with activation. Perhaps my local distributor lied to me about the plugin being free xD. But I've checked with the L6 store and there's no PodFarm plugin for Pod Studio GX available for purchase, so I take it's really free with these devices. On the other hand in the Line6 Monkey plugin is displayed as activated but still, there's the activate button. I tried the "refresh" trick and still, nothing happens.

Somebody please tell me what's going on because i did buy this device mainly for this plugin and now I'm left without it. What's wrong? :/

Standalone version of Pod Farm works fine.

Audio Glitches with Toneport UX2 on windows vista home premium

Hi,

although i have set up my toneport ux2 as instructed by the manuals on my new laptop that runs the 32bit version of windows vista home premium i'm suffering from audible pops and glitches when using gearbox. I've updated everyhing to do with the toneport and have cut background windows activities to the minimum.

Any advice on how to get rid of this? Anyone else suffer from it too?

I have more than enough ram (3gb).....it's just sooooo flipping annoying especially as i can't use the toneport for recording at the moment!!!

I have a UX2 and POD Farm with all model packs. It works fine in Windows 7 64 with a 32 bit host(minihost) however, in SONAR 64 it has a strange problem where when you select a preset, some of the elements(such as amps or effects) are not enabled even though they indicate enabled and even if you disable and reenable(clicking the "power" button on the display for that amp or effect) the amp or effect don't work. I have tried this with bitbridge(native to SONAR) and Jbridge(another 32 to 64 bit vst wrapper). Any ideas?

2nd question: Is there a native 64 bit version of PODfarm coming? Thx.

How Do I Rename A Modified Preset In Pod Farm?

I can rename a modified preset with Gearbox but Pod Farm (both programs in stand alone mode, not VST) doesn't seem to be able to do this so stilI have to do all my editing and saving with Gearbox and then I play the renamed preset through Pod Farm because I prefer the GUI. Am I making a stupid mistake or was this capability left out for a reason? Thanks in advance for your help and patience. snedlow.

I have a PodXT Live. If I purchase the POD Farm upgrade for my unit ($49), this should provide me with some bass amp models and cabs (5 each I believe). My question is: are these new bass amp models available to me when I am not hooked up to the computer and Pod Farm? While I may indeed use PodFarm from time to time for recording with Riffworks, etc, I am looking at this as a means to get a few bass amp models on my Pod XT Live without having to spend $99 for the bass expansion pack.

In short: I want to be able to use the bass amp models provided via the Pod Farm upgrade in a live situation, without any link to Pod Farm.

Thoughts?

UX2 right output is louder than left

I bought my UX2 last November and have been using it happily ever since, but today I came to do some work on a song I'm mixing and suddenly the right speaker sounds way louder than the left. I checked the speakers but they seemed fine; I then swapped the cables in the left and right outputs (so the left speaker was now connected to the right output, and vice versa), and sure enough the left speaker was now way louder.

It's as if there's a balance control somewhere that's been thrown over to the right accidentally, but I can't find it, either on the UX2 itself or anywhere in software. It's connected to my MacBook, and I've checked the balance in System Preferences for the UX2 -- that's set to dead centre, exactly where it should be.

Is there a secret balance control that I've somehow knocked? If so, where is it? If not, how do I fix this?

I was just looking at the foot controllers available. When looking at the compatibility tables I found that there was no mention of the UX2. So I'd like to know whether this means none of the foot controllers are compatible? or was there just no data? or will I have to find an alternative...

Furthermore, I have read in places it is possible to "assign" "any footswitch" to POD Farm, now i have tried and tried but have had no success. Are there footswitches in particular? or is there something specific i need to do? I would love to see the process described to me rather than just being told to "Assign" stuff.

I'm just wondering if the Pod Farm plug-in does anything differently than GearBox that would justify having both.

I have the Pod XT live, all 5 model packs, Riffworks, GearBox Plugin, and a Guitar Port Online subscription.

Needless to say, I'm a line 6 junkie. (2 amps, and pod 2.0 as well).

The stand-alone PodFarm I have (email promotion - it seems I don't qualify for the free upgrade that works as a plug-in) doesn't work with the XT live, so all I can tell is that the interface is awesome, and looks easy.

So, does it do anything the GearBox plug-in doesn't?

At $50 bucks, seems cheap enough to try, but will it be redundant?

UX2 and Computer Speakers

I just received a UX2. I have it setup and sound comes out the UX2 to a guitar amp fine. I would also like to select having the sound come out the computer speakers attached to the computer's sound card. It seems like this should work but doesn't. I've upgraded all the software and drivers.

Is there a way to make this work? Or can I make computer audio route through the UX2? I only want one set of speakers. Don't really care if their hooked to the sound card or the UX2 (I think).

Live sees the Pod Farm plug-in fine, but with everything connected and the plug-in open, I still can't hear anything (headphones connected) and Pod Farm won't detect anything from the guitar. It works just fine in standalone, so I really don't know what's up. I'm kind of new to the whole DAW/plug-in deal so maybe I might have screwed up somewhere, who knows.

Hello,

I want to try the free 15 day trial Pod Farm for iLok.

So I've created an iLok account, downloaded the iLok software (on my intertet pc and on my main/cubase pc) and synchronized my iLok so that the Line6 license is on the iLok.

So far so good (I think). Next, I'm downloading the PodFarm Installer, version 1.11 (from the "free software downloads" page, product: iLok, software: podfarm, OS: windows xp), 113 MB. Again, everything seems allright. I'm activating the installer on my main pc, it start to do it's thing (just like the instructions video and guide).

When I try to "run" podfarm in Cubase, podfarm doesn't seem to be there. So I check C:\program files\line 6. There's nothing there (just 2 MB)!

I've tried downloading the software 4 times now, but it doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong?

No Input POD Farm VST

I have searched, read FAQ and the manual and still can't get this to work. It has to be something very basic I am missing.

I'm running Reaper 3.02/XP SP2 32-bit. I have an activated version of POD Farm 1.11.0 w/ TonePort GX. I refreshed activations. TonePort GX plugged into USB and is recognised by POD Farm as authorised device. Using Firestudio as audio i/o device. (Using GX as dongle) I have POD Farm added as plugin on track. Gtr is plugged into Ch1 on FireStudio. Track is armed. I see (and hear) input on the track in Reaper. I get no input in POD Farm (input gain in POD Farm is full up.). What am I doing wrong?

In POD Farm stand-alone, I get input using GX but have no options to choose another input/output device in the mixer. It says "ASIO Client: (none) " Again, I hope I'm missing something because I do not wish to use the GX for i/o.

I read the forum and saw that some of you have problems with your line 6 products in windows 7 but i didnt find a similar problem to mine. So when i connect the ux2 via USB to my computer it doesnt work, it wont get recognized neither by the computer or line 6 monkey, and the only thing that is working are the clip lights that are blinking. Does someone have a similar problem, did you fix it? Thank you for the answers!

I'm considering runnning Win 7 on my macbook but can't find a version of Pod Farm that might work. I am trying to use some old and new plugins that were cross platform before Mac OSX went intel. So in trying out Win 7 beta, I wanted to keep using PODfarm on my projects and switch OSs to use Cubase with Darbuka, Latigo or Wizoo W2 reverb, which are not intel, but still cool. Is there a version of PODfarm that I can get that runs on Win7 that would use the license on my iLok?

Toneport GX

I'm running a MacBook Pro and trying to use the GX with Garageband, with no luck. Yesterday I was finally able to get a signal to garageband from the guitar and hear the output through my computer's sound system. However, there was unacceptable static and distortion. I boxed the GX up last night and was going to send it back, but thought I'd give it one more chance today.

Today I can't even seem to get a signal to show up in Garageband. I've checked the system sound settings and GarageBand audio settings and set the input to GX and output to system settings, which is what I think worked yesterday. I can hear the guitar through the line out port on the GX box, and when when I tried Gearbox, it seemed to be interfacing with the GX box OK and I could hear the effect changes through the earphones on the box, but nothign through the computer sound system after I unplugged the earphones. I read available information on your forums and downloaded and installed the latest GX driver, plugged the USB from the GX directly into the computer, and I am not running wireless.

I am running Snow Leopard. Should I try the beta driver before giving up?

Hello there,

Today I very happily recieved a large cardbard box containing my band's new PA system, and my Pod UX1. Both work great!

I was wondering if its possible, and/or a good idea, to plug the UX1's output into a line input on the PA system? I would have thought so, I'm just posting this in case I'm about to do something horribly wrong and blow up my new stuff.

Also, if I can plug the UX1 into this PA system, what output should I use on the UX? There are two "analog outs", which I imagine are line level? Just use one of these and set the balance in Pod Farm to that side?

my question regards using Toneport KB37 with Mac OS X...I've installed the driver from the net, but when running Garage Band I can't find detailed audio preferences to select mic 1 and mic 2, line 1, line 2 etc....the only inputs avail are mono 1 -4 and stereo 1/2 stereo 3/4, none of which allow the mic's to be sending signal. Inconsistent sound with TonePort DI-S

Sound from my guitar cuts out every few seconds and sound from the Player function in GearBox pauses every now and then. Itunes does the same when played through the TonePort, but is okay thorugh the internal speakers. My PC fails two compatibility checks in Line6 Monkey - the processor is not a Pentium 4 (its an Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, 4GB RAM, 64 bit Vista Home Premium) and the chipset cannot be tested (it's a Dell Studio 1537, whatever chipset that has). After reading the discussion threads I checked control panel and under Sounds and Line 6 is listed as speakers - no way to change anything like a buffer. In Device Manager Line6 TonePort DI-S is listed with driver 3.4.3.6 and there are no variables to adjust. Seems something needs tweaking, but I'm out of ideas.

Hello. I have been recording music practically non-stop with my trusty UX2. That is, until today. I plugged my UX2 into my USB port, and started PODfarm all up ready to toy around to find some nice effects for a riff that I'm working on, when all of the sudden, the UX2 starts farting at me. It's like a constant bubbling sound through my headphones. I don't know why, or how it's happening, but I double checked all of my connections, and it won't stop. I'm not exactly Pete Townshend with my equipment either. Also, the sound doesn't register on the vu levels on the front of the UX2, however, they do register with PODfarm. I uninstalled everything, and reinstalled all of my software, and downloaded the latest drivers, and it continues to happen for some reason. I'm not a real computer whiz, but if I have instructions, I can likely manage. Any help would me insanely appreciated. Thank you all very much. Have a nice day.

Hey, i just bought the ux2 and with the new driver 4.2.4 i really don't have problems. Well, there are some latencies, but i didn't check all yet (puffersize, etc. - Logic).

But my problem is, that i have to switch the audio settings every time i start up my MacBookPro.

I change it to UX2 (for input and output). After i restart my Mac the internal input/outputs are choosen again.

How can i solve this problem?

Hello, i got some bad problems with my Toneport UX2.

First thing to say is, excuse my bad english i am from germany so i hope you don't puke while reading or something.

OK i used to record with my TonePort UX2 and Gearbox alsong with Adobe Audition and Reaper + EZ Drummer on my old machine a AMD X2 2Ghz and all along an average computer.

I was happy.....stuff worked out....and yes it was XP Prof. .....the good old days.

Now the machine is broken and i got myself a new super fancy notebook. It's three times stronger or better whatever then the old computer.

I have Vista 32Bit on it with service pack 2 and all new drivers. it's runing flawless. but i recocnized a few pops in sound during playing winamp mp3 and mediaplayer but i read that on Acer forum. by the way acer aspire 5739G is my machine. so....i didn't gave a flying **** about the onboard soundcard because I have a Toneport UX2.

But here comes the devil into my game....the sound is in low strengh ok, i also tried guitar rig (i love my gearbox more ) but when the song is getting more louder and rougher escpecial the overdrive sound it all becomes a mess. totaly scrached and overdriven you cant understand a thing it's just loud noise!

So Mp3 replay doesn't work aswell good, the same...it's pure noise. So i read a few thing here with wlan and such things.

I think my computer could easly handle 10 toneports just by the power that thing has. I tried everthing getting the most powerfull managment on the PC and the lowest, turning eveerything of but gearbox and reaper to record. but it wasn't making any difference it's just noise.

Please can someone help me...i need the Toneport really bad to get back to work soon. My head explodes cause of many ideas for new songs but i cant recordd.

So i got everthing on this forum to read i think...i read something with a powerproblem and a external USB-Hub with selfpower. would that really help? is the power the problem? can anyone approve that?

Cubase crashes and ASIO more available KB37

Hi @ all,

i´m a so called newbie to the KB37, purchased and registered on March, 20th 2009.

After installation all necessary drivers und updated them, everythings looking fine except...when loading an song in Cubase the system gets an fatal error message - and the notice to save the actual Project under an separate File. When clicking ok, the system crashes completely, all data is lost and the ASIO Driver can´t be found after new start...must shut down pc and start everything new.

This also happens after playing a while some software synthesizers within a new song.

Any issues???

Pod Studio GX drivers installation problems under XP

Hi there,

I got the unit during my vacation and everything installed fine using my laptop.

Now I'm having trouble to get it working as expected under my main daw.

The main problem is that the drivers installation freeze at the DPInst.exe step.

Reading here, I did the import of my laptop's folder from where I'm able to install manually the drivers for the GX.

So now I can listen thru it correctly using Pod Farm & GearBox, but the panel for asio settings is unavailable from both apps, and even from Cubase 4 when I tried to use the GX as ASIO drivers (and from which I'm able to get sound). I also tried in Cubase to load the VST and Cubase vanished but that is maybe another problem...

Anyway, it seems that something around installation still incomplete.

Any workaround, suggestions?

Intro:

I want to say that this is a slightly more involved process than it needs to be due to Sonar's ACT controller setup is one of the worst ui's possable. I almost went to hacking the xml directly to avoid it. I realize that most people aren't used to xml markup so, I did my modifications through the GUI interfaces. On the other hand Line 6's FBV Control Software is really easy to use. That being said, Line 6 should work with Sonar developers to supply a preset or importable surface control xml file. Due to competition in the industry it may be impossable.

My Setup Relevent to the Process:

Goal of My Setup:

The shortboard should control transport and PodFarm plugin in a stage-like fashion for recording or live playing with Sonar.

Setup Test Project:

1. Create a new project with one audio track
2. Add PodFarm to the FX bin
3. Set PodFarm to Dual mode and make sure each tone contains a distortion, chorus, delay and reverb
4. Make sure tone one has a WAH assigned to it

Make the Transport Controls Work

1. Goto Options -> Controllers/Surfaces
2. Add a new "MMC" using the FBV (usb audio device on my system) as the input port. If its not available use the MIDI Devices button to enable it. Select none for the output port and hit okay.
3. Close Controller/Surfaces pane
4. The transport should work now using A - D buttons as stated in my Goal section.

Make the FBV control aspects of Podfarm (The Tricky Part):

*This get a bit fiddly so bare with me*

*Instanciate the FBV as an ACT Contoller*
1. Goto Options -> Controllers/Surfaces
2. Add a new "ACT MIDI Controller" using the FBV (usb audio device on my system) as the input port. If its not available use the MIDI Devices button to enable it. Select none for the output port and hit okay.
3. Close Controller/Surfaces pane

*Prep the ACT MIDI Controller for Use*
1. Goto Tools -> The name of the controller
2. Select the default preset enter in a nave for your preset and save
3. Set the rotary, slider, and button banks to 4, 4, and 2 respectivly
4. Set the Rotaries Mode to Channel Strip and the Control group to Main
5. On the options tab set the following (make sure you set the banks right for the buttons)

    Rotaries Bank 4     Uncheck Exclude from ACT
    Sliders Bank 4         Check Exclude from ACT
    Buttons Bank 2

    Assign the following for the button values

    Button:        Command:        Excude from ACT:

6. Return to the Controllers Tab and save the preset
7. With the Controller Tab open double click the PodFarm plugin to bring up its properties frame
8. looking back at your Controller tab you should see some frames have turned blue and the Active Controller Technology section reads Pod Farm
9. Check the "lock" box to make the plugin have the focus for "midi learning"
10. save the preset

*Frame Assignment and Midi Learn (the tricky part)*

As you look at the frames in the Controllers Tab you'll see that they are not the controls we need so we will have to alter them using the ACT Learn Feature. The help file and manual are brief in their description and in some cases leave out steps when describing this feature. I willl try to be more verbose. My ACT Learn process is as follows:

Frame Assignment Repeated Process:

With both the PodFarm frame and the Controllers tab open do the following:

Note: In the case of the FBV make sure the pedal on your controller is in WAH mode prior to starting as it seems more reliable in being sensed than the buttons

1. Hit one of the "ACT Learn" Buttons on either of the frames (button just says ACT)
2. Then left click the cell you want to assign a function to in the Controllers Tab (it will display MIDI learn)
3. Then adjust a parameter in PodFarm like turning the distortion pedal on or off
4. Move a midi control (in the case of the FBV I use the Wah Pedal moving it back and forth once not engaging the toe switch)
5. Hit one of the "ACT Learn" Buttons on either of the frames (if all has gone well you should have a prompt saying it has seen one control and parameter move.)
6. Accept the change (you should see the frame now contains the parameter you just moved)
7. Left click the cell it will say "midi learn" now click the floorboard button you want to assign to that parameter
8. Test that the button adjusts the parameter ( sometimes it took a few tries for the midi learn to take )

How I assigned my frames(follow my order using th above process and variations in process are labeled with **):

**Make sure the tap is lit and proceed ACT Learning the shifted buttons 1-4

Shift + B1    2 DstDynFltOnOff    Stomp            On/Off button for tone 2's distortion pedal
Shift + B2    2 ModOn/off        Modulation        On/Off button for tone 2's modulation pedal

**Turn off the shift by pressing tap so that it is not lit
**Put the FBV Pedal in Volume Mode
**Assign the next parameter using the toe switch instead of the sweep and there is no need to do the midi learn of the cell at the end

Rotary 1 1 Wah-On/Off Toe Switch On/Off of the tone 1's Wah Pedal

**leave the pedal in Wah Mode and assign it

Rotary 2 1 Wah-Pos FBV Pedal The Wah position dial in tone 1's Wah Pedal

**Now just midi learn the buttons 5-8

Button 5    Go | Next Marker    Bank Up
Button 6    Go | PreviousMarker    Bank Down
Button 7    Edit | Undo        Function 1
Button 8     Edit | Redo        Function 2

**test all controls but you should be done (Clear Midi Learn is your friend if you have bad button to cell assignments)
**remove the check in the ACT lock
**Save your preset

Summary:
The transport controls will work in any context the PodFarm controls will only work in a PodFarm plugin. You Should be done. Post back if you have any questions.

I am about to purchase a pod studio interface. I already own a podx3 pro. Do I need to use Pod Farm to get a cleaner recording and plug directly into the interface from my instrument or would it not matter if I plug into the X3 Pro and Run an xlr from the X3 Pro into the interface. The reason I ask is I don't like the idea of having to shell out more money to get the Pod Farm Platinum when I have everything it offers already on the X3Pro. WHat is the best solution here. Thanx

I've subscribed to www.jimmybrunoguitarinstitute.com All students can upload videos to Jimmy, playing themselves to playbacks. But I don't get it to work.

I have a HP notebook, Line6 UX2, Microsoft Movie Maker, Reaper. I can play to playbacks running in winamp or in Reaper or on the net using the UX2, but when I record a video, I just can hear the guitar, no playback. The format of the playback (midi, wav, mp3) doesn't matter, no difference. Any suggestions?

I had purchased a Toneport UX1 about 2 years ago, and recently have gotten it back out to start recording again.

I came across a problem when I couldn't find the Installation CDs, however I do have the Toneport itself.

I tried to register my product on the site, but for some reason the serial number wasn't recognized.

I can see the serial number clearly on the Toneport, so it's not an issue of whether the numbers/letters are faded, the site just won't recognize my SN.

I did find a download for Gearbox, but can't find any drivers or the recording software ( I can't remember the name of it) anywhere on the site.

I'm basically just trying to get all the files from the CDs back so I can start recording again.

POD Farm Crashes UX8 Hardware driver

I am using pod farm with my L6 UX8. When i launch the standalone program of pod farm it crashes the drivers on the ux8 as the red lights saying driver on them flash up red. the same problem happens when i try to load up the pod farm plugin. I have managed to funnel the problem down to just the pod farm application as this problem only occurs when i load it up.

The driver and software versions are:

Driver: 3.4.3.8

PodFarm: 1.11

Line 6 Monkey: 1.31

USB Firmware: 1.00

Computer Specs are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHz Q6700

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45 Extreme

Soundcard: M-Audio Audiophile 2496 + Line 6 UX8

OS: Win Vista SP1

RAM: 2GB (error free tested by memtest86)

PSU: Arctic Power 550 watt

This is a problem which has only started to occur but I can find no answers online and don't know what to do.. I have tried re installing the drivers and re installing the pod farm application but the problem is still happening even when the only program running is pod farm. The drivers are fine and detected by the computer when it turns on up until I load the PF program. When in podfarm and the drivers have crashed it still says "connected: Toneport UX8" but once the drivers are gone I cant open the line 6 audio and midi control panel device preferences and I can't open up the line 6 monkey program. The problem resets itself after I have restarted the computer and booted up again.

Artefacts while recording with Toneport GX...need help!

Hi!

I've been using my Toneport GX for a long time now and never had any big problems until I switched from my on-board audio chip to a "Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio" soundcard. Since then, there are several things that doesn't work as well as before. I already re-installed my sequencer (Cubase) and even Windows, but it just won't let me record a take without any beeps, dropouts or other artefacts like that.

Of course I changed all buffer times I could find in my Gearbox driver, but I didn't find a solution yet. My system should also be fast enough to provide error-free recording sessions. I'm using a dual core (Intel, 2,13 Ghz) with 2 GB RAM.

You can listen to one of those artefacts in the attachment...

Anyone any ideas, what could be the reason for this? Would be great!

I am just monitor the audio from and external device plugged into the line inputs on my TonePort, but I can only hear the inputs if I open GearBox and by-pass the effects.

If there anyway to get the Line 6 to play-thru the raw audio without GearBox like a good little audio interface should?

ILok will not unlock Podfarm Platinum

I recently bought the Platinum upgrade for my Podfarm along with an Ilok. I set upt he ilok and all of the drivers per the instructions. The ilok website shows my license and ilok to be as being setup correctly. However when I run pod farm I still only get the basic features and I can find no evidence that it even sees the ilok .

Im using Sonar 7, and i have Guitar rig 3, i really like the distortions and effects of guitar rig 3 so i want to use this for recording.. but i cant open them together.. when i open GR3 the audio driver for sonar isnt available, so its impossible for me to record my guitar tracks using guitar rig 3, i know i can use GR3 as a plug in insisde the sonar.. but i want to record while hearing the tone that i like.. the only way that i can record while hearing my guitar is to open POD Farm, then the record will be dry.. then ill add the Guitar Rig 3 plug in into that track.. but i dont want this kind of setup. i want to hear Guitar Rig 3 to hear what im actually recording. is there any setup for this? or maybe using different recording software? thanks.

Toneport GX No sound on main computer when laptop works fine...???

Works on my laptop no issues whatsoever.

Installed the drivers/software on my main computer, so i can start recording - the nightmare begins.

First of all, i got the 'no authorized hardware connected' message. Fixed that, now it recognizes the hardware.

Now, i get absolutely no sound out of it. The level meters stay dark. I uninstall/reinstall the drivers and Pod Farm several times, re-authorize with the Line 6 Monkey, nothing.

Each time, the drivers are recognized properly, the Pod Farm program properties say that the driver is running, the light on the GX is green - but the level meters are always dark, and no sound comes out.

Plug it back into my laptop, works great.

Restart my main computer several times, try different usb ports, nothing nothing nothing.

I'm pulling my hair out here, i've spend hours trying to get the thing working.

Please help??????

toneport audio trouble after sleep on mac

I have a toneport UX2 which I use to record my electric guitar. After I come out of sleep mode on the mac I always have strange audio problems. The guitar sounds like it's popping with a ton of noise and cuts in and out. In order to use my toneport I have to reboot my computer every time which is a big hassle.

Problem with Podfarm plugin and Podxt

I am running my guitar into a PODXT (just updated) then usb to my imac (using newest 4.2.4 drivers) This part is working correctly. I get audio from the POD in my DAW (Garageband) I also have POD Farm installed and I can see the AU in Garageband, I hear audio from it when the "monitor" checkbox is checked. The problem is that when running my signal through the POD into Garageband using the POD farm AU plugin, I get 2 "sounds" One sound from whatever preset the POD is on, and a second from POD Farm (pretty much the POD preset run through the POD Farm preset) How can I eliminate this? Is there a way to use the POD in a "bypass" mode so I can just record the sound from POD Farm? I understand I need the POD connected for the POD Farm software to work, but how can I get just a clean channel (No PODXT) from my guitar, through the PODxt into POD Farm?

Pops and Clicks while recording with UX2

Hey, whenever I record with my Line 6 UX2 on Ableton Live 8, I get various pops and clicks even while not recording or not ever arming the recording. The pops and clicks go away if I increase my buffer size to the max but then the latency is so high (193ms) that it is unplayable. Ive tried everything else closing down all running programs, disconecting my wireless internet... etc etc But nothing seems to work!! Is there some thing i can do to avoid hearing those pops and clicks in my audio... or do i have to upgrade my pc?

Toneport KB37 severe malfunction

I'm experiencing quite a problem with my KB37. I bought the thing used and knew it was defective but since It was such a bargain I just had to buy it. Anyway, here's the problem:

When I connect the thing to my pc via usb, it seems to start okay (the red clip leds flash a couple of times, is this normal?) but then it starts to make this pulsating noise and I can't get any sound through my guitar. Sometimes the leds just flash but nothing happens. It's hard to explain it very well, but it seems that it picks up some kind of signal, since the type of the noise changes when I load a different preset in gearbox, and also when playing a music file I can hear a little bit of it like once a second, I mean that there is approximately a pause of a second, then a little bit of music, one second pause, bit of music, pause etc. I made a little video to show the problem more clearly:

Oh and don't mind that the thing is bare naked I just had to open it in case I could see a burnt component or a bursted capacitor or something, but the insides look just fine. I was hoping it would be possible to repair it, so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them a lot. Like what component could cause this one second pulsing pause etc... or if it could be a software bug (not likely since the previous owner had the same problem, though he was able to get it working by just reconnecting it until it was okay). Every bit of advidce is welcome.

Oh and if it helps I remember the guy saying that phantom power does not work. He said that it turns on but there is so much cracking and popping that it can't be used. Could the problem lie somewhere in the usb/power supply area?

I just purchased a Tone Port UX1 and it comes with the LIVE LITE 7 recording program.... and I'm a newbie to this "recording thing" and I would like to know how can I change, with LIVE LITE 7, the TIME SIGNATURE and/or the TEMPO within the same song without changing the previous one... ?!?!??!

example: I have a song that begins in 4/4 at 148 then it switch to a 6/8 in 142, etc. and I can't change those tempo/time signature without changing the rest... !

im using logic with a new imac and a toneport kb37, i installed the gearbox software that came with it and it works in stand alone but not in my DAW. it just pops up but you cant hear the soundand it says click to activate, strange caus ive already registered it, I also downloaded the latest update that was podfarm and looked forward to using it but when i try and add the plug in, its not there only gear box is, and it wont run it it just crashes logic. can you help me?

My story is a sad one....my old laptop got stolen and I replaced it with a hewlett packard 6735s, which has the following spec:

Processor: AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-70 (2.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache)

Memory: 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Hard Drive: 160 GB 5400 rpm SATA II

OS: Windows Vista

old laptop was a similar spec, but ran with XP as the OS.

i have a KB37 using ASIO drivers with Cockos Reaper as my recording/sequencing software and had a bundle of vst(i) plugins. I use usb 2.0 for connecting the devices, dont use a hub.

with my old laptop, i had no problems, everything worked great, the laptop was optimised for the KB37 and i could record away to my hearts content. Happy days.....

Not so with my new laptop. i have terrible white noise, clicks and pops and its rendered my kb37 pretty much useless. i followed the advise about optimising my new laptop for vista (switching off all the aesthetic stuff, using the kb37 as my default soundcard, installed asio4all etc) none of which has worked.

i also get the same noise issues using gearbox with my guitar plugged directly into the kb37.

is there any magical fixes which you are aware of that i may have overlooked? i tried looking for driver/software updates and line monkey says i need to update my usb firmware but i cant find a link? i also read on one of the forums that HP laptops are incompatible with some line6 products?

if anyone could help in any way it would be very much appreciated as right now ive ran out of ideas. let me know if you require any further info.

Podfarm and Gearbox crash after latest driver install.

Not only do they crash but they completly lock up my system to the point where I can't tell them to force quit and I can restart through finder (I have to hold down the power button!!)

My system:

Mac Pro 2 X 2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

OS: 10.5.8

When I launch gearbox it craps out when it says "initialising DSP"

When I launch podfarm it just sits there then pin wheel of doom.

I hate to be the bear of bad news but your software is by far the buggiest out of anything on my system, I can't even use the plug in versions of either of these because they are so un reliable.

I have the Pod Farm Plug in that i use with fruity loops 8, but i can;t get anything to sound right. All the amps are extremely hissy and noisy when there is any distortion, and its darn near impossible to get a decent output volume. Plus all the eq settings seem weird. Its like there is very little bass and not much treble. Do i have something set up wrong?

I got my pod x3 today and i tried to hook it up to my laptop.

i installed monkey and pod farm, went through all the updates etc and there was no issues.

monkey finds my pod no problem but pod farm give me the "no authorized device detected. pod farm cannot process audio" error.

i have all green ticks on money, including on the pod farm.

i have tried different usb ports.

i have tried with no other usb devices connected.

i have tried the refresh activation and it will not find my pod.

the only thing i can think that may have a problem is that i am running windows 7 RC. has anyone else had this problem of does anyone know what my problem is?

I also cannot get Gearbox or POD Farm to work in Logic Pro 8. (Nor Live 7 on my iMac).
I have checked similar threads in the Line 6 forums, and if anything am more confused than before.
So please bear with me if I repeat things that others have said, I do so in the hope that giving such detail my help someone to help me.

I've owned Toneport UX2 and Gearbox for 2 years and used it in Ableton Live and Cakewalk Project5 on a PC with no problem. I now have an iMac, this is where the problems start.

All my software is up to date. (line6 and Apple)

Both Gearbox and PODfarm work as stand alone items, but not in a DAW.

GEARBOX in Logic Pro.
I plug in Toneport via USB.
I open an audio track and insert Gearbox. When the GUI opens it tells me 'Ready To Activate' in the bottom right. When Monkey opens, Gearbox is not in the list of programs that can be activated. Nor do I have a message telling me that anything needs to be activated.
PODfarm is in the list, but it is not ticked. I tick it and in the 'license code' box I type the word refresh, click 'Activate', it runs through the whole prossess, and then says 'Transaction Complete' but of course nothing has changed.

PODFARM in Logic.
I load PODfarm as above and get a box that informs me 'No Authorized Device. A required device is either not authorized or not connected', But surely toneport is already authorized.

GEARBOX and PODFARM in Live 7
If I can get this lot working in Logic I'm not too bothered about Live, but it would very useful, and I did buy the product intending to use it in more than one DAW.
I have tried the 'You Tube' run through, that didn't work either. It may work for a PC as on 'you tube', but not for an iMac.

Hi everyone,

This fix worked for me.

Right click the monkey 1.27 short cut then click on "Properties".

Go to "Compatibility tab".

check "windows xp (service pack 3)"

Now at same tab under "Privilege level" check "run this program as an administrator".

That will do it.

If for some reason this does not work for you uninstall 1.27 then install 1.26 and be sure to install only the drivers that your hardware requires.

I just updated to snow leopard. i downloaded the newest gear box and newest monkey software. the software works fine, but as soon as i plug in the usb-cable i get a kernel panic ( message: "you need to restart your computer" ). I already updated to the 10.6.1 Version of Snow L, still the same problem. Anyone an idea how to solve the problem?

I went to the gravis store as well, and they said could be driver problems, but should be fixed with the update. also, the toneport works with my flatmates macbook. i just dont know what to do next.

I've had the toneport UX1 for around two years now and I've not had any problems with it so far, until last night it started to pop and crackle for no reason (USB cable was fine, nothing spilled on it, no USB surges, hasn't been damaged or dropped) so I uninstalled Gearbox and my UX1 drivers. Since then I've tried repeatedly to re install them however it keeps telling me that "l6tpux1.dll" is missing. This happens when I try to connect my Toneport and use both the disk provided with the Toneport and the drivers downloaded from the Line 6 website. It also happens with the drivers downloaded through the Line 6 Monkey drivers.

Does anyone have any idea on how I can get my toneport to work again? I've tried using different USB ports, different cables and install after install of both Gearbox and the drivers.

Many thanks to anyone that can help me and I hope this is in the correct place on the forum and not a repost!

I followed all the steps (or so I think).

I registered all software and installed the drivers and pod farm using the monkey.

I set the system preferences to use UX1 as the audio input.

I opened Pod farm and I'm getting a signal (though I can't hear anything).

I can tune using the tuner, and see signal in the mixer.

I open Garageband, setting UX1 to the input.

I create a real instrument track.

And nothing. No signal in garageband.

How do I make this work? I just bought a pod studio ux1 to record guitar/bass and can't make it work.

I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard (latest version) and garageband '08, with all updates, and all the newest line6 software.

I can't even get this thing to play at all.

What am I missing? And why don't you guys have telephone support...

Ok, I'm really hoping I'm just missing some completely obvious setting or button, but after searching the forums, I still can't get this to work...

I have a duo core intel PC with 4GB ram, running Vista, Reaper and a UX2.

The Pod Farm stand alone works/records/sounds great.

But I wanted to try different amp settings with a dry recorded track, so I bought the Pod Farm VST plug in.

It appeared to load just fine, I can see what I think I'm supposed to see within the program when I load it as an F/X in Reaper.

But when I applied it as a VST plug in on a dry guitar track, I hear nothing. The meters don't move (either on the UX2 or within Reaper), and there's no sound. To make sure the channel I'm using works and and I have it set up right, I added another chorus plug in on the same track, and when I bypassed the Pod Farm VST, I could hear my guitar track with a chorus effect. All good there.

But, when I activated the Pod Farm plug in again, I heard nothing.

I've tried every variation of input/output/arming the track to record/not arming the track to record, etc etc I can think of.

Any ideas??

I have a Toneport UX8 and when I load up Cubase and PodFarm the red lights indicating that the device drivers are not ready light up. They appear when I load both programs but not when I start up. Also in podfarm when the lights are flashing it does say ux8 connected and the device drivers in cubase dont say device removed. I can't get on the line 6 audio-midi devices window as it wont load.

The audio is still being outputted from the ux8 but it is not being recieved on the computer so I can't record vocals with it.

All the programs are up to date and the drivers are up to date. What is wrong?

Problems with my podstudio gx

I've just got a podstuido gx, and I'm having problems getting it to work on my computer. I get no recording from my guitar. The only time I get some bars on the eq. is when i choose "use device gx" and then its just random.

When i try to use the pod as my soundcard (disabling the old) i get very low sound with a lot of background noise. I think I've tried every thing that is despribed in the manual, using different setting and disabling and enabling the other sound card, but nothing seems to work.

Please help me.

Toneport DI-G Latency Issues

I received my Less than a year ago, like 10 months ago from musicians friends because it was in clearance for 99.99. The toneport Latency was great with my laptop, having it on the second tick mark to flawlessly proccess my guitar, with absolute no latency at all, even with recording, my guitar signal would be picked up and sent through all my software with no issue at all. Starting maybe 3 months ago, I noticed i started to get pops here and there after a software update, fine i said shoving it off so i would slide the buffer to the right to deal with the pops. Unfortunately now, two weeks ago a set the slider to the extreme far right for the largest buffer, and now i get pops and clicks every other 5 notes on my guitar while doing a scale run, and i get clicks every other 2 seconds having it set as my soundcard for my windows media player to the point where i don't use the toneport at all. There is no pattern at all with the clicks, it is steady for 5 secs, then it goes into click, audio 2 secs, click, audio 1 sec, click. I only used the toneport to record maybe 10 songs, and that was in the first two months i had it. I used the toneport to play my music through using the WMP all the time though, and now i can't use it at all with the clicks and what not. There has gotta be someone there to help me, my cpu usage is always like at 2% with a great system. I don't even care about latency recording issues, the toneport itself is having latency issues and proccessing sound. Some1 please help, sucks because this truly sounds like a hardware issue with my toneport. I've tried updating, reinstalling gearbox to the newest version and even going back to the installation cd to see if it would work and I am still getting Latency issues. The Installation CD is vers 3.0.

I run Windows Xp Sp.2, with a Intel Duo Core 1.83 Ghz proccessor. The only problem with my computer is that it doesn't want to instal Windows networks frame 1.0 or 1.1, i forget, but i have all the rest, would that be the issue, but i don't understand how the Latency has just gotten worse, and worse, and worse overtime. It is the most frustrating thing, to have something you enjoy, than slowly crap out on you overtime. Please help.

Toneport GX power/connection issues?

Hi, here's the problem:

My toneport GX no longer powers on when plugged in via USB to the computer.

I've tried it in several USB ports (all powered) on different computers and still nothing. It has worked fine the first few times I used it but only a few weeks later and it has seemed to stop for no reason.

As far as I can tell the problem is either :

The USB cable is knackered (doubtful but possible)

or A component inside has come loose or broken.

I got it as a present and it's probably outside the warranty but I was just wondering if anyone had had this problem or could suggest a way to sort it out - I will also try to get hold of another USB cable and test that but until then any suggestions are welcome.

I am a Musician with a UX1 which is truly awesome. I may even use the UX1 to record my new tracks for my website: dspickett.com however what is the license on the sounds that I create in POD Farm and then use to record my music? I found the All Right Now preset and Classic Vocal is a great mix for me to use and with a bit tweaking is one of the tones I want.

Example: I record my new song "Jubilation" in Ableton and using POD Farm the All Right Now preset tweaked and Classic Vocal. I then upload the track to my site and it may possibly be sold on an album I am making. Is this allowed?

Please can I get a swift Yes/No answer or whatever as the UX1 is so good I want to add lots of new recordings!

Hi, having installed v1.11 yesterday just thought I'd mention that this version has NOT fixed the following, as described in the release note:

Instrument 2 input not shown as a valid input in dual tone (UX8 Only) - FIXED

In the previous version, I believe this bug was just a UI thing, and you were still able to use instrument 2 for dual tones. However, now as well as "Instrument 2" not appearing in the source dropdown, it won't work at all for dual tones, all I get is silence...

Hi guys, wonder if you can help me....

I bought a Toneport UX8, as an upgrade from my UX2, thinking i would be able to record 8 instruments at once in garageband. Seems i was wrong.

What i want to do is record my guitar, my vocals, the bass and the drums (via an XLR input) at the same time. I always used to record the Drums and the bass in one pass with the UX2 (by using Stereo 1/2 and stereo 3/4 in garageband)

Now this worked perfectly, allowing me to go back and do the vocals, and guitar parts seperatly later on. However, i upgraded to the UX8 thinking i could record everything at once. But it seems i can still only make 2 tracks in garageband that are actually live.

Can anybody help me? Or have i wasted my money?

I honestly believed the UX8 could handle 8 at once, otherwise whats the point in all the different inputs?

Please! Can somebody answer this for me, im at my wits end.

Can not reg PodFARM/GearBOX VST plugin

I have a problem with a recently bought TonePort UX2. It was a used piece of hardware, so i am the second owner. With the help of the previous owner, we have re-regged the rig into my Line6 Account. (As the attached pic shows).

So the rig is registered on my account, I can download with Monkey, and it refreshed everything, from drivers to utils. (Riffworks2 is not installed)

The problem is, when I want to start a recording program (e.g. Cubase3) and want to launch a VST plugin (PodFarm), it says, that Monkey 'll register the software, until that, it cannot be used.

I have done every upgrade check with Monkey, so I find it peculiar, that the software is not activated yet.

It would be great if i could use PodFarm and GearBox as plugin, not only as Standalone.

What should I do?

It would be great to find a solution.

Hi, i have just purchased a POD Studio UX-1 and from day 1 it's had a constant crackeling when i open the POD farm. I took the specs sheet to the computer guy when i bought it ( new ) so i don't think it's a compatability issue. I have downloaded all the software upgrades, and the store where i got it from have no idea. It's been 3 months now and i'm itching to use it! dear community and support team,

i am a singer/songwriter and for upcoming gigs i would like to use my TonePort UX2 interface to control my acoustic guitar and the microphone. In addition i would like to use the gearbox inbuilt player to play samples (.wav files). ideally, this would give me maximum control on stage over the sound with a minimum of equipment and would be the perfect solution for me.

i have my TonePort UX2 connected to a MSI netbook (which i specifically bought for performances) with the following features:

Windows XP (SP2)

RAM: 1014MB

Processor: Dual Intel Atom CPU N270 at 1.60GHz

Drives in DMA mode with sufficient disk space.

Line Monkey's (v.1.15) compatibility check gives me a "go!"

My problem is: i encounter annoying noise/dropouts when i switch from a single instrument to "Inst & Mic". The system handles just the guitar or just the mic smoothly, but if i want both to run via TonePort the system seems to be overstrained.

i ran through the line6/Gear Box Audio Tips and Optimiziations pdf and changed a number of settings. The last thing i changed was the Buffer Size via the Line6 Audio-Midi Device. i set the ToneDirect Monitoring buffer from small to extra large. (see image)

This helped somewhat and when i'm in "Inst & Mic" mode both signals are clear and without dropouts now.

However, as soon as i start to play samples (.wav files) via the gearbox player, all signals are corrupted :-(

Are there more tricks to enhance the performance, since the buffer is already set to maximum? Is the TonePort UX2 capable of handling three audio sources (guitar, mic and the player) at once?

Any tips are appreciated!

So, I have a G5 without an internet connection. I know I needed Pod Farm for my TonePort UX1 to work properly. I bought PF on my macbook with wireless, and then copied the disk image to my G5. I was worried I wasn't gonna get it to work, because I wouldn't be able use Line6 Monkey with an active internet connection.

Ok, so I just installed PF and then buffer settings came up. I did change that to medium, versus small. (I'm only running a 2Ghz 2.5GB G5).

So then I restarted my computer, opened iTunes, and NOW! I get sound out of my speakers connected to my TonePort via 1/4" cables. I didn't have to enter in the "verification code" that I just bought for $50. Now, what just happend. Can I, should I get my money back if I'm not a professional musician? (I'm not even close). I am working and learning Logic 8 though.

Much help and advice is greatly appreciated.

This is a thread from the old Line 6 message boards. I never did manage to solve it and I hated to see this thread sit where it could no longer be commented on or searched. Right now the GX is sitting idle waiting for me to have enough time to basically start from scratch with an OS re-install and adding software piecemeal or purchase a new PC. Neither will happen soon. Perhaps someone will have some new thoughts on the issue or perhaps not - at least it's accessable to the new community.

Pod Studio GX - Pulsing noise

I just picked up a Pod Studio GX and last night I installed Pod Farm and the GX hardware. When I fire it up and play the sound pulses on and off in about 1 second intervals. It's just like someone is flicking a switch on and off.

I uninstalled and re-installed with the latest version of Farm (1.03) and it's still happening. I would guess it's due to my sound card settings (SB Live!) or another program running but I haven't solved it yet through trial and error. Any thoughts what would cause that pulse?

It sounds like it may be a wireless card interfering with the signal? Are you on a laptop? It shouldn't have anything to do with your SB card, b/c that should be disabled when you plug in the GX.

If none of this helps, please describe all the components in your entire signal path, including software on the computer that you're using and how it is that you're listening (eg headphones, speakers connected to the GX, etc.).

I'm on a desktop PC that is hardwired to a router. Is it possible a wi-fi router (D-Link DIR-628) would interfere? I would be very disappointed if that were the case...

So I sat down with the GX this morning to take another whack at troubleshooting the problem and...no pulsing sound. I didn't change a thing from the last time I tried. I didn't even restart my PC...all the variables are the same as when it was pulsing.

So while it's working I still don't feel like I've solved the problem or that it won't come back. If anyone has experienced this sound and figured out the source please let me know.

Did you have a cell phone nearby when you first tried trouble shooting? Cell phones can sometimes cause strange noises in the speakers, which you may have noticed.

It's not a cell phone and it's not my router. I unplugged the router and the pulse was still there.

I was free of the pulse until I started Windows Media Player 11 on my system and now it's back. I stopped WMP and tried killing all the processes associated with it and still the pulse is there. I've restarted the system a couple of times now and I can't get rid of it again.

Hmm...tough stuff, this "pulsing" that you're describing. Does everything pulse (WMP tunes, Pod tunes, etc.), or is it just when you're playing guitar through the GX that you get the pulse? If it's everywhere, does it still happen when you disconnect the GX?

Have you tried connecting your GX to a different USB connector? You're not using a USB hub, are you? Any chance your USB bus is dying (I had that happen on a work computer once...it created really weird glitches in the system).

I'm just trying to brainstorm here. Can you record some soundclips so we can hear what you're describing?

Nothing else pulses. The pulsing only exists once a cord is plugged into the GX and Pad Farm is running. You can see the pulses in the PF meters. Muting Pod Farm stops the pulsing sound.

Yes. It hasn't seemed to make a difference.

Not likely. Everything else is working just fine.

I can try. I would describe the sound as a 60-cycle hum that pulses at 1 second intervals. Say this at normal speaking cadence and you'll get the idea: "buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz" Like a heart beat. I think it's something running on the computer rather than RF interference because I believe I'd hear that in my speakers and other audio programs. Right?

I'm using a Win XP machine so I'm considering setting up a second user account that loads the minimum amount of programs to see if that makes a difference. Assuming I am able to do that...

Is your computer a laptop? I'm asking because you said the sound is similar to a 60 cycle hum. To me, that sounds like a ground loop. If your computer is a laptop, try unplugging the power supply and running on batteries and see if the problem goes away.

I never assumed it was a problem with the Line6 hardware/software but rather a conflict with something else on my machine. Just to be certain I installed the GX and Pod Farm on my work laptop and it worked just fine. I also placed the laptop in the same place as my desktop to see if it picked up any RF. It didn't.

So the Line 6 hardware/software is indeed conflicting with something on my machine...I just can't figure out what. It surprises me that no one else on the boards has had a similar issue.

We've had some reports of similar noises however they have mostly been Mac related and even then we're talking newer 8 quad Mac Pros.

I'm not hearing the same thing. In the video this users sounds are very scrambled. On my machine the sound isn't scrambled - it's the normal processed guitar sound interrupted by pulses or spikes that sound a little like a flip of a noisy pickup selector switch. I installed riff tracker on a whim and that is effected by the pulse as well.

If I adjust the buffer I change the tempo of the spike but there isn't a setting that eliminates it.

I still think it's a software conflict but I'm at my wits end after hours of trial and error trying to track this down....

You might try disabling your videocard and see if the symptoms persist. The fact that you're able to use your POD Studio GX on your work computer without issue tells us that your GX is not malfunctioning if it operates correctly on a different computer.

Beyond the contents of this document and a suggestion to try diabling your videocard to see if the pulsing goes away, I have no other ideas at the moment.

I suppose you could try a System Restore to an earlier registry snapshot setting. Our main concern was to identify whether the POD Studio GX was problematic. Seeing that it's not, we can only provide so much software troubleshooting before drawing the line at other manufacturer's possible software conflicts and ultimate Microsoft XP operating system support.

I will try that however I also had a period where the GX worked o my desktop.

I'm your customer...shouldn't your main concern be my satisfaction with your product? I understand how difficult it is to provide support in these situations but isn't that the reason for this forum? I came here hoping someone in the community would have had a similar situation and a solution.

Having deactivated Windows Sound schemes in order to use the Toneport UX2 or my Tascam US428 drivers, I am now unable to decrease the recording level to prevent clipping/distortion.

1. have tried the output knob on UX2

2. have tried the ouput setting in PODFARM

3. have tried input level in Sonar 6.

Do I have to re-activate Window Sound and lower the level there, then deactivate it again?

My knowledge of PC recording techniques is relatively amateurish - this stuff used to just work with Adobe Audition 2.0. Any suggestions appreciated.

Okay so, I've had a Toneport UX1 sound card for around 2-3 years, only I've never used it as a sound card. I only became aware a few months ago that it even was a sound card. I just knew it as the little device that let me record instruments.

In the first place, I had an onboard sound card which wasn't that bad, but still wasn't great to record with. But somewhere along the line I was given a Creative SBLive! sound card, so when I started trying to record with that everything would glitch and skip in the recording. I thought it could have been a RAM issue, so I bought more RAM. I needed it anyway. I've since tried recording some quick stuff with the same sound card but on the RAM updated computer and it is a lot better, but I'd prefer to have the UX1 as the default sound card.

Anyway, I posted on another forum asking the question "how do I use the UX1 as a sound-card?" and I came to the conclusion that I would have to plug my speakers into the UX1. However, there are two wires coming from my speakers (Creative Cambridge Soundworks FPS1000) and I hear tell it's usually just one. The two wires account for front and rear audio, but seeing as though I have nowhere to put the speakers that would enable the surround sound experience, this feature has no use to me.

The problem was, the wires were 1/8" jacks when all of the connectors, aside from the USB, on the UX1 were 1/4" jack sockets. So the dude on the other forum suggested I get some jack adaptors, and some splitters because of something to do with the fact the UX1 needs two wires to make it stereo. He told me then that only my front speakers would play sound, and I asked if there was a way around it, so I could hear audio from all the speakers. He suggested I get a few splitters- an 1/4" plug to two 1/8" sockets, then a 1/4" socket to two 1/4" plugs.

I went to the shop today and got these-

They only had a 1/4" to 1/4" adaptor, so I got the 1/8" to 1/4" jack adaptor so it fit. Anyway, I plugged it all in when I get home and it didn't work :/ When I plug headphones into the headphone socket on the front of the UX1 I hear audio, though. Just not when I plug the speakers in the "Analogue Outs" or even the headphone socket.

So my question is, how do I use my speakers with the UX1 as my sound-card? I understand I could buy new speakers that are compatible, but I'd rather keep expenses to a minimum.

In Sonar it will not select ASIO in driver mode?

so i followed the instructions went to

downloaded but i dont have the full platinum version,only the standard version, with like only 18 amps and stuff.

Got the software to load but cannot have the UX1 plugged in our I get an immediate Mac OS message that I need to reboot, then it will not reboot completely until the USB plug for UX1 is unplugged. Why is my UX2's sound cutting out?

I have a UX2 USB interface running Pod Farm. It works great on my desktop PC running Windows XP, but when I use it on my laptop running Windows Vista, the output sound cuts out very briefly every 30 seconds or so. I tested my headphones, and that's not the issue. I've also downloaded the latest Pod Farm installer for Windows Vista and updated the firmware and drivers. Still no progress. I tried running the setup on a different laptop running Windows XP and the problem continues. The only difference between the XP laptop and the desktop is that the laptop has a slower processor and less RAM. The Vista laptop is the most powerful of the three.

Any suggestions?

Toneport UX8 with Sonar 8 Latency Issues

I have a Toneport UX8 and use Cakewalk Sonar 8 for recording. I sold my M-Audio Delta 1010 due to the UX8 having 8 preamps and being able to record as one unit. The issue is that since I have received this product I have had terrible latency issues. If I have no plugins turned on there is 0 latency. However that means 0 effects. Recording dry like this is troublesome for the vocalist and drummer. Once I enable an effect or enable GearBox the latency is horrible. When I play the guitar it is like a second behind. Could someone please help me with getting the Toneport UX8 latency issues to go away. Below is how I have it hooked up.

Toneport UX8 connects to a USB connection on the back of the PC motherboard. Toneport UX8 is being used as primary soundcard under Sounds in the control panel. Latency in the Line6 control panel is set all the way to the left for lowest latency. buffer is at 128. I am running Windows Vista for the OS.

PC Being used

HP Pavilion Media Center m8200

Windows Home Vista Premium

3 GB of Memory

3Ghz

500GB HDD

When I had the PCI card for the M-Audio Delta 1010 installed in the computer I had no latency issues at all. I could have effect turned on for the vocals, drums, and guitar with no issues. Once I installed the Toneport UX8 I have latency issues and crackle popping noises.

I really think that the Toneport would be a great piece of equipment to use once I get this figured out. I see nothing but great reviews. All help is highly appreciated.

Podfarm crashes Protools when a novation nocturn connected

I'm experiencing a problem involving :

Protools HD 8.0CS3
Novation Nocturn with automap (updated to 3.1 : no changes)
Podfarm RTAS plug in (both using Line6 hardware and their version for Ilok)

it's quite simple : podfarm is crashing Protools when nocturn is connected. it is not enough to remove podfarm from the mapped plugins, nocturn has to be unplugged.

i originally bought a UX1, so i tried the Ilok platinum version to check for a usb conflict problem, but nothing changed.

nocturn is working ok with every other plugin including ampfarm and podfarm is working ok as long as nocturn is unplugged.

i can't do without podfarm, and it's quite upsetting to do not even give my nocturn a try...

Pod Farm Plugin & Garageband

My main problem is that whenever I try to use the POD Farm plugin for Garageband, I get an error saying that there are no authorized devices.

Here's what I've done so far:

I installed Line 6 Monkey on my iMac and used it to install and update all my software. I launch GearBox and Garageband, set the audio input to the UX2. I can record fine with that. But, I like the POD Farm set up better, and it was my understanding that with the plugin I could edit my guitar within Garageband after the recording (is that correct?), so I went back into Monkey, paid for the plugin and authorized it. I also did the refresh thing, and when I log into my account on line6.com, it shows the plugin as connected to my hardware.

So now, I'm launching GearBox and Garageband, then setting it to a clean tone in GearBox so I can do all the processing in Garageband. Is this the correct way to do this? Then, I'll record a little something and when I go to details to add some effects, POD Farm will come up, but it will tell me that there are no authorized devices.

So, my questions are:

How can I fix it so it recognizes the UX2 as an authorized device since line6.com says it is authorized.

Is the only way to record with the UX2 to run GearBox at the same time and set that to a totally clean tone? It seems like with the plugin there should be a different way.

POD Farm Plug-in in Cubase

Stand-alone works fine.

I tried to use the POD Farm plug-in in cubase, but cubase does not show it as a VST, i have tried different locations for the dll but nothing, any idea?

I have to activate the plug-in separately?

Where I should have installed the VST plug-in, in default location or in Cubase's VSTplugins folder?

I'm using Cubase SX2, i supose it is compatible... it is not? Using Vista-64bits

Hello,

I have recently got a Line 6 UX2.

I have installed all the newest drivers.

When I turn on the POD-farm program, it starts making a noise/hiss. Not all the time, but very often.

It dosen't matter if I play or don't, it makes the noise nevertheless.

I'm using headphones. Have not tried this on amp, but I guess it should be the same.

I'm running windows vista 64.

Don't think it can be my computer, cause I have 8 gb of ram and two 8800 GT graphiccards running SLI.

My CPU is an AMD 6000+, have written it down in my supportprofile.

I have read that it should help if I got an USB-hub, don't know if that is truth?

Is there anyone who can help me?

MIDI Playback with UX2

I've hooked up my UX2 and made it the default sound device in Windows XP as well as the default ASIO driver in Cubase SX3.

I've also made the UX the default MIDI playback device in XP's Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Audio tab.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to get my MIDI tracks (which are assigned to various VST instruments) in the Cubase Project to playback through the UX2.

There is a signal visable in the MIDI tracks within the Cubase Project but I can't hear them.

(I have no probs recording/listening back to Audio through the UX2.)

Crackling problem

Hi, I have a crackling problem with my POD Studio UX1. I bought it 2 days ago, and yesterday - it started crackling while I played. But I think you'll understand the problem better if I put it like this:

1. The crackling appears ONLY in monitoring. I can describe the sound as a random sequence of clicks and crackles. So, like I said, it happens only in monitoring, every time I listen to something or play. The amplitude levels don't even react to the cracks; when I record something and switch and listen to it via laptop, same headphones, the cracking is not recorded. Everything's normal. It just happens when I'm playing or listening to something.

2. The headphones and the converter are in good condition, I tried them out on an amp afterwards, as well as my laptop, and no clicks or crackle appeared whatsoever. So they're not the problem.

3. The POD Studio is connected directly to an USB 2.0 port.

4. My laptop is an HP ProBook 4515s series.

I've been reading that people have already had problems with noise and crackling, but after reading their description I realized that their problem is different - seeing as their crackles have actually been read by the amplitude levels...

If any other info is needed, I'd be happy to provide it.
