As per custom tone FAQ

Can I get all the Tones at once? You can download all the Tones from the Public Tone Exchange, sorted by product, in this ZIP file. Once downloaded, unzip the file, navigate to the location of the unzipped file using the left list of Line 6 Edit's Tone Locker window, and you'll be able to open any of the Tones that are compatible with your Line 6 device. This file is updated regularly, for the tone junkie who just can never get enough...

Have asked previously and was told to log feature requests which I have done

File hasnt been refreshed in at least 3 years

It was mentioned as being worked on so how much longer????

The Spider Jam has some great band presets already. however, Is there some place we can go on the site to share our own settings which duplicate our favorite bands and songs? I would really like a preset for "Boston" songs. Also, I have used some of the heavier existing presets for AC/DC but would like to know if other people have their own settings to really get the best tones to duplicate the songs. I found a preset on the Spider IV called "Clean It Up" (it is a Lincoln Brewster preset) and I feel in love with the dynamics and tone of that preset. I would love to be able to use that exact tone live at my church but I can't use that amp. All I've got is a POD xt Live. No software or anything. I'm almost positive I created this tone on my old Digitech GNX1 which I sold years ago. I used it for a song I wrote and now my band really wants me to finish it but no matter what I do I cannot even come close to replicating it on my PODxt. I've never been very good at creating tones on anything. In fact, I created this one by accident. I've always just turned knobs and pushed buttons until it sounded cool. That method doesn't seem to be working for this one so I'm turning to the pros. You know, all you guys that actually know what your doing!

I've attached an mp3 of the song chopped up enough so you can here the tone. It really doesn't sound anything like a guitar, in fact some people thought it was a synthesizer.

If I had to guess, there are probably a lot of musicians who would love to have this tone as well.

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated too. Like if you think this is even remotely possible for the PODxt. I just can't afford to buy the Digitech right now and even if I did, I'm not sure if I could make it again anyway.

I have downloaded a few tones from CustomTone - and uploaded nearly 20 of my own, with most receiving 4 or 5 star ratings(just do a search for my name to download em) - and I just have to say, at the risk of sounding like a complete jerk...

do some of these people even TRY to make an effort to design a good/accurate tone? I mean, come on - I saw a supposed Chuck Schuldiner(the Father of Death Metal, R.I.P.) tone that had no amp at all, simply a Tube Screamer and brite room reverb! Are you kidding me?!

A simple google search will give you the heads-up on just about anybody's rig nowdays - and that will show you where to start in trying to design a similar tone. Zakk Wylde uses JCM800s and his own signature MXR OD(which is basically a modded Boss Super Overdrive), with some chorus and wah-wah here and there - so there ya go - that wasn't so hard, was it?

I absolutely LOVE the concept of CustomeTone - and the ones from Line 6 are usually really GOOD, but man, some of the user-created ones I have downloaded were absolutely pathetic...

I know, I know - this makes me sound like a real meanie - it's not intended that way, believe me.

My question is very simple, did you ever try to emulate the classic Mesa Dual Rectifier sound through your Vetta HD?

Did you actually heard both one after the other and said - wow! it sounds the same?

(I know that the cabinets have a big effect, but lets say you heard the rectifier on 4X12 Mesa cabinet, and had a diffrent cabinet for yourself, or even the same.)

If so, can you share the preset with me?

I'm going to do the test myself and publish the results...

I haven't done a ton of research on this, so it might already exist. I am looking for new tones and patches for the 212. I didn't see a thread that addressed this, so I thought that I would create one, and with any luck we will have a great response which other users can reference in the future. If this discussion already exists, please point me in the right direction and I will be greatful.

I am personally looking for patches that emulate anything from Satriani to Gambale. From clean crisp sounds to in your face distortion!! I am sure that all of us who have been playing on this amp have their favorites. I hope that this will be an on going thread that gets added to daily. I am at work right now, so I can't give the specifics on the patches that I like the most. I hope to add mine tonight when I get home.

Yo, I'M jorel 18, and i love to play pure rhythm in heavy metal/ thrash metal, my main influence is james hetfield but i love just about every guitarist that sounds good to me.

recently i bought a new spider 2 line 6 amp, and i was exerimenting with all the cab modelling, looking for that crisp, real disciplined palm mute heavy metal chord sound and i was really suprised with the settings that i picked up.

i had the drive on 4.5 the bass on 10, mid on 3 and the treble on 9. now the wierd thing about my setting is it sounds amazing and my surprisingly low drive setting reaaly kicks *** because it means theres not much feedback and i when i mute, theres discipline to the sound without risking primary distortion sound, but it sounds even better when turned on, slightly twist the treble setting from 9 away and then back to 9 again, its then i get that real master of puppets sound and i love it to bits, because i've been asked ' is that marshall/ boogie it sounds sweet'. the sound i get is really hard to explain but its definetely one i'm gonna keep with me forever, its just so crisp its unbelievable.

Can anyone tell me how to get that sound all the time without have to twist the treble evrytime i turn it on?

I have a Spider 3 Jam 75W amp and I'm having trouble finding Angels and Airwaves tone settings. I'd also like Blink 182, but just their newer sound on songs like Always and Down. I already have an older Blink 182 one saved.

Hello out there...

Okay all you Tone gurus: It's tough trying to describe the sound I hear in my head, but here it goes anyway...

Using the TonePort UX2 through my M-Audio preamp into my computer, I've been trying in vain to capture that hollowbody/rockabilly "Southern Culture on the Skids" meets Creedence's "Run Through the Jungle" tone -only fuller, rounder and thicker. The ambient background guitar in the studio version of Brother Cane's "Fools Shine On" is another one. I typically use the Les Paul Studio, but I have an Ibanez RG series as well. I'm guessing the Les Paul would be the better choice for thickness...just trying to find the magic setting or plug-in for the UX2. I've also tried using my Boss acoustic simulator pre-UX2 just for kicks, but nothing even close. Any suggestions? -Barring the purchase of another guitar, that is?

There's no reason we can't use this to share any tones we want, whether they be Spider Valve or Pocket Pod.

What I'd really like to see is something like Share Your Most Beautiful Clean Tone and a place to post one single tone.

I'd like that here because Custom Tone is just not setup for something like that. I really only want 4 or 5 tones to check out, I trust the people on this board, and it'll make the whole process easier.

Could you make this forum have a slightly different format perhaps?

Just bought this HD147 2 weeks ago used and right off the start was dissapointed in the amp models. My spider 3 150 sounds better. I know this 147 is a serious amp with a ton of power, but was really expecting more. And today it started powering off on its own. Actually blew a breaker. After toggleing up and down slowly with power toggle and the going down, it stayed on. Also during power up theres noise inside like crackleing. And the problem still persist. Any known elements in the current flow known to go bad with these amps? And for the price I was expecting to be astonished by it, not dissapointed. Any help here is apreciated. Been a fan of line 6 for years and this is the 1st high end line 6 amp I bought and the condition of the outside is perfect, so I know the guy took care of it. He said he had better luck with the clean tones but I just figured he didn't know how to dial that good gain in.

This sounds more like the old Metallica than the other tones on the Tone Transfer site. I plug my POD XT straight into the return jack, by-passing my heads EQ reverb. I also play this on my Epiphone Les Paul Gothic which has the Alnico V pick-ups set on treble.

Hi, I own a Spider II 2x10 and while I like it 'ok', I think it has some shortfalls...specially in the sustain area... I mean, i really have a hard time getting decent sustain in distortion modes.

I'd be willing to stay with Line6 since I also have invested on the ShortBoard pedals and it makes sense to leverage the investment.

Is there a big leap in quality between the spider II and III , particularly in the aforementioned issue?

Hi guys! I have just been using the preset tones on this unique piece of equipment, now it's time for upgrading my tech skills...

I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about tweaking presets to make my custom tones, but right now, I wanna hook up my Electric nylon sting and my electric guitar ypo the X3, I heard it was possible.

I also need to have separate tone banks set up, so I can press a User bank and get the input from the electric, and another user bank to source from the acoustic.

Am I just doing somthing wrong or is the search function on the Custom Tone page absolutely useless? For example, I've tried searching for Collective Soul tones and it came up with over 90 tones, only about 10 of which had anything to do with Collective Soul. Is there a way to search only by artist or by song because it seems like it will bring up any tone that has any of the words somewhere in the description. It takes almost as much time using the search function as it would simply browsing thorugh every single tone, especially if your looking for a sound from a less famous band. While I'm ranting, is there any way to limit people to ONE post per tone?! I've seen 10 -15 posts of the same tone by the same person, really annoying when you're searching for a specific sound. Any chance on improving the Custom Tone site in these ways?
