Guys,

I'd like anyone who is having issues with pops and clicks with these sepcific processors and our drivers to please post on this thread EXACT computer specs and a concise and detailed recipe of how you are able to reproduce these pops and clicks.

I've been streaming music now on an HP DV9 laptop with an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile processor on Vista Home Basic 32 bit now for about an hour without one pop, click or CPU spike. Help me reproduce this so I can help you guys get up and running! Thanks.

Crackling in monitors, using Toneport UX1

I've tried the recommendations that have already been posted, including optimizing my computer settings, downloading the latest drivers and software versions, and trying different settings for buffer size, bitrate, and so on. I've checked all the hardware (monitors are brand new, cables are new/not damaged). My computer should be plenty fast enough (and when I'm not using monitors, it handles the recording software fine, with processing and memory to spare). So I've kind of reached my wits end...I just spent a bunch of money on these monitors and I can't hear anything but crackling static.

Hardware:

Laptop (Windows Vista, 64bit, 2.10GHz, 4.0GB RAM)

Toneport UX1 (connected by USB 2.0)
M-Audio Studio Monitors (connected by two 1/4" cables to Output from Toneport)

Guitar or Amp (into 1/4" Instrument input on Toneport)

Software:

Line6 Gearbox (usually set on bypass, if I'm recording direct from an amp)

Ableton LiveLite 7.0

i'm unlucky to experience the TonePort pops & clicks issue.

I've been said to start a new topic and post my pc's specs, so it could help.

So:

ASUS k50AB (notebook)

Windows XP SP3, 32-bit, slightly modified (just for the looks +few program installed, not important)

AMD ATHLON X2 QL-64 (2.10 GHz, 1MB cache)

4 GB RAM (Windows reads only 3,25 GB because it's an XP, still)

ATI Radeon 4570 (i doubt that's important, but whatever)

250 GB HDD

WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n
LAN 100 Mbps

So you can see i experience the common noise problem on Windows XP and having an Athlon, not Turion.

I've got TonePort UX1.

None of the solutions posted helped.

Please do something, i hope you guys will be able to fix this.

Trying to decide which to purchase. Basically a beginner and just want to record some rhythm tracks and play lead over. Maybe send a file or CD to friends to listen to if I get something that sounds good. Also interested in software to assist with learning the fretboard and maybe has some exercises to improve rhythm, timing, etc.

Hey Guys,

Got my Toneport UX2 running through my Mac via USB, and have the main audio running out of that to monitors. When using it sometimes, the audio suddenly becomes choppy and distorted, almost at a rate of 1 'blip' per second. I restart the mac and everything is fine again until it happens. What is going on??

Blue screen with POD Studio UX1

Hi there,

Recently i'm on Windows 7 (Ultimate Version) and now I've got 'Blue screens" showing the following Stop Message :

L6UX1.SYS Address 9237B0B1 base at 9236A000, DateStamp 4a53c2b9

The first times, bluescreens appear while I was listening MP3 ine Windows media player, then in Winamp. My UX1 is my default sound material.

I had the bluescreen a few times when watching Videos on MPC Home Cinema and another time whereas I do nothing on my computer.

The message on bluescreen is always the same and showing an UX1 conflict. I think it can be an incompatibility problem with Win 7 and UX1 Driver. When I was on Wondows XP, I never had such problem.

Je suis récemment passé sous Windows 7 (version intégrale) et depuis, je rencontre un problème de type "écran bleu windows" (blue screen) m'affichant le stop message suivant : L6UX1.SYS Address 9237B0B1 base at 9236A000, DateStamp 4a53c2b9

Les premières fois le bluescreen est apparue durant l'écoute de MP3 sous Windows media player puis sous Winamp. A savoir que mon UX1 est mon périphérique audio par défaut.

J'ai rencontré le problème plusieurs fois en regardant une video avec MPC Home Cinema puis, à nouveau le même problème sans faire quoique ce soit.

L'erreure ne se produit pas intantanément et de façon aléatoire. Le message d'erreur du bluescreen étant toujours le même et indiquant le UX1 comme conflit, je soupçone un problème de compatibilité entre le Driver du UX1 et Windows 7. Je n'ai jamais eu de tels problèmes sous Windows XP.

UX1 MIC INPUT NOISE

My MIC entrance in my UX1 makes a lot of noise for itself, even if i have nothing plugged to it!!

Here are the printscreens (again, nothing plugged into MIC)... the noise is, as you can imagine, quite a lot, especially because the only way of hearing myself decenlty without licking the microfone is pushing up the gain up to almost 10dB.

0dB - 7dB - 8dB - 9dB - 10dB -

Please note the noise is independant from the setup i choose, it appears in the dry input as you can see. My guitar input works perfeclty, without any noise, wich makes this even stranger

Direct Monitoring Problem

I am unable to enable "direct monitoring" in cubase. I have only acquired the PODFarm plugin recently so I didn't notice this before. This was happening under cubase 3 sx and now under 5. All steinberg has to say about it is the driver doesn't support it. This is highly frustrating! I have reinstalled all line6 software/drivers and the cubase 5 is a fresh install.

Any ideas?

I just received my TonePort DI-S from my GuitarPort bundle. I installed all of the software. I have the TonePort plugged in. I have a green light. I have re-installed drives more than once. I have restarted the computer more than once. I have switched USB port, computer front panel not a hub. I have all of the up to date Drivers, USB, Gear Box, etc.

I am getting no sound through my computer speakers from the Guitar. I see needles moving on Gear Box. I have twisted knobs, pushed buttons, tried combinations of things. I can hear the video tutorials played from the embedded browser at the bottom of gear box just fine.

I know there is something super simple that I am not seeing here. Why can't I hear my guitar played through my PC speakers?

so your telling us that we have to use the pod farm or some audio software to hear the line inputs on the kb37? this again is misleading in your advertising. and if I use podfarm I am getting distortion on the line in even when I delete all amps and other devices from the podfarm audio chain. I also don't get a dry channel it still runs through the amps or whatever else is in the audio chain. also I am using the line 1 and 2 inputs, why am I getting audio on the 3 and 4? I am not using an spdif input????

UX8 turns on, cannot connect, and can't turn off

Hello,

I have a UX8 that suddenly stopped working, when i pluged a guitar in INST, port 1

What happened, is that the UX suddenly froze, some clip lights were on, others were dim red, it simply felt like my system was twitching.

So i tried to turn it off, but it didnt work.

I unpluged it and when I pluged it back in and turned it on, the clip lights were going form left to right ( the two clip lights next to the meters were not on nor were they flashing).

and i cannot turn it off, so I have to unplug it again..

I thought it was a tough piece of hardware..

Can anybody please tell me what has gone wrong?

when im starting to power up my ux8, its working nicely. but after a few minutes turning on. the signal clips blinks on and off the line 6 monkey

detects that theres no usb firmware installed so i connect and reconnect again the usb, still the same. when itry to update that selection no response from the monkey

High pitched whine

While recording a kawai k5000 I get a high pitched whine this also happens if I even turn on gearbox or podfarm. So far I have tried 2 different computers, running the laptop off battery power, switching outlets, switching the power cord on the Kawai, using all ports on ux8, switching the ux8 and k5000 to different outlets, using new audio cables and using a new usb cable on the ux8.

Some strange details: usually I run things through a mixer and effects before going into the ux8, even with the voulme down to 0 on everything the whine perists. Plugging the audio cable from the k5000 1/4 of the way into the mixer and there is no whine, but I can't change the volume! It's only the k5000 that is doing it. The whine is there even with the k5000 off, but goes away if it is unplugged. I tried using a behringer ufo interface and it is fine, plugging straight into the onboard sound card it is fine, plugng right into a zoom h4n it is fine as well. In some ways it seems like a k5000 problem, but all other recording interfaces have no whine.

Any other ideas?

Pod Studio UX1 Not Working With Windows 7

I've gone through all of the support FAQs/discussions so this is a last-ditch attempt. I am getting sporadic performance from the UX1 on my laptop (brand new, core i7 processor, Win7, 4g ram). Playback stutters, system sounds only happen sometimes (e.g. - running the "test" function on the sound devices control panel only plays sounds less than half the time) - thus I know it's not an issue with my DAW software. Following the manual and support FAQs, I have:

1. disabled antivirus

2. disabled all wireless/bluetooth network adapters

3. disabled the computer's sound card

4. adjusted sound settings (buffers, size, etc.)

Still, the stuttering problem when playing back and the sporadic appearance of system sounds persists. I have the latest Line6 drivers and software. Any other tips?

I have contacted sonar support and have completed all of their trouble shooting steps. They say it must be my input device. I have tried switching over to my computers sound card and the noise does stop. I have updated all my drivers and have completely reinstalled my ux2 software. I have tried changing all my buffers, driver selection......nothing works. I have had it for over a year. Previously no issues. I have added no new hardware or software. What is going on? -thanks,

I want to be able to use the plugin with my M-audio profire 610, without having to hook up the x3 live, (which i only use for amp situations). I travel a lot and I can't carry a lot of gear with me, so it would be very convenient for me to use pod farm platinum with my m-audio.

POD Farm Plugin Audio Cuts In/Out When I Edit- But Works Otherwise???

I have a registered POD XT Live, which I use (as a dongle, effectively) with the basic POD Farm, which was a free download in September. When I instantiate the plugin inside Cubase (4.52), all is well. The sound is fine and works as it should.

THE PROBLEM: When I open the POD Farm Plugin GUI to change an amp tone, or otherwise edit the sound, I get audio dropouts lasting several seconds at a whack, interspersed with an occasional (brief) bit of sound. It makes editing the tone virtually impossible. Once I close the GUI, the plugin works fine again.

THE SYSTEM: It's a Quad Core AMD 2.8 w 4 gigs of RAM. I have Guitar Rig 3 and a few other amp sims that work perfectly at the 256 buffer setting I use. The size of the project doesn't matter, I get this problem even if it's the only track in the project.I also have a UAD Duo and Liquid Mix, which both operate without issues. Bottom line is that the system is brutally powerful and this is the only glitch. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the POD Farm, as well as all of the other drivers.

I would really appreciate a fix for this, as I'm very pleased with the sound of the POD Farm and would like to be able to rely on it. As it sits, it's worthless. Please help.

UX2 Crashes when receiving a powerful signal?

I've had my UX2 crash on me three different ways, all related to high input levels, or so I believe.

Running a bass into the instrument input, had it turned up loud, needles were over on the right. The UX2 shut down. I unplugged/plugged it back in but Reaper wouldn't recognize it. Had to reboot everything. Creative inspiration killed instantly.

Running 2 mics into the UX2, setting levels on guitar amp. It was loud and the mic gain was up. The UX2 shut down, similar results.

Playing a mix back via Reaper, some of the levels were set high and before I could drop them, the UX2 shut down...

Is this supposed to happen when the UX2 receives too strong a signal or do I have a bad unit? I can't imagine that any level of audio input would physically damage the UX2.

Running Windows XP on a laptop, Reaper, POD Farm. This seems to happen intermittently...which makes me wonder if I have a bad piece of hardware (yet again).

Two weeks ago I purchased the line 6 ux 2 (the version with the gearbox.new version still unavailable in my country...). when I installed the gearbox it didn't work as a plug in and it told me to download the pod farm fron your website....It works only as a standalone and the plug in costs extra. On the box of your product it specificly sais i can RECORD using this product and it doesn't say I need to purchase an additional thing in order to make it work(also in your website). I paid over 200 american dollars for your product and I think That's totaly unfaire twords your customers. Please reply I am getting desprate with this thing.

I'm using an M Audio Fast track pro interface, to send my output signals to my monitors, however, i can't seem to find a way to do it, when using my Line 6 GX. Is there any possibility i could still use the Line 6, but use my m-audio interface, to carry on sending output signals to my speakers, so i don't constantly have to use headphones when i'm playing/recording guitar?

It is regarding POD Studio UX2 operation. Currently owning UX2 and Variax 600. Typically when playing a song, will switching the Variax 600 to acoustic guitar and set the Gearbox's amp and effect to a configuration for the acoustic guitar. Down the song, when come to the 'solo' part, which typically will switch to electric guitar on the Variax 600, will also wish to switch to another set of configuration for the amp and effect. Any advise on this endeavor with the current devices I own or is there any additional device I will need to make this endeavor possible?

Read about footswitch in the UX2 and MIDI cc on the Gearbox. Seem like these features are relatively close to making the job above. Any advise on the procedure if these features are possible to do the job. Thanks in advance.

Toneport DI - Gold vs iLok, How can I select which license to use

I own 3 PodFarm licenses (1xUx2, 1xTonport Gold, 1xiLok)

So the ilok version is the basic version, which i got when it was free, cause the toneport gold is annoying the hell out of me when traveling. Sadly I can't transfer my model packages to the ilok license.

But there's the horrible part: At home I have the toneport gold plugged in AND my ilok (due other licenses I need).

If I run PODFarm standalone I can get all my models (Gold). As soon as load the podfarm plugin in logic 9, it lists the iLok as authorized device. If I unplug the ilok it switches the DI-Gold, but as soon as I plug the ilok back in, it authorises of the ilok. (which reduces the number of amp models to min set)

So I need the ilok plugged for other purposes , but I still wanna use all the models.

How do I force the plug-in to the authorize of the dI-gold and let the ilok license in piece???

It is not helping if the pod farm plugin is automatically choosing the smallest license!

Or can I trade my basic ilok podfarm for ilok platinum and on the same token downgrade my DI-GOLD to silver - basically swap them ??

Hi guys,

I'm looking to have a really simple and portable studio setup. I read about the KB37 and I'm really curious as to whether it (Along with a laptop, Cubase, instruments/mics and a set of headphones or studio monitors) is everything I'd need to do record/mix an entire project. Does the KB37 act as a low latency ASIO sound card? Or would I also need an external soundcard like an M-audio Fast track Pro or a Presonus Firebox to get the full mix output (including midi vsts and all inserts) to headphones or monitors? Also, can you completely bypass all the Line6 software and just use it as a digital interface to record dry and then use other plugins like Guitar Rig or are you forced to always have extra Line6 software running?

It seems potentially really powerful but if I'd need another DI Box or couldn't just bypass all the Line6 Software when I would like to just record and use other tools, I'm probably better off to just buy a small USB sound card and midi keyboard. Thoughts?

Please help!! No signal or level from Toneport UX2

I'm running two SM 57s through the mic inputs on the toneport, and into my Macbook pro via USB. The computer sees the toneport, but the toneport doesn't seem to register any signal (the "level" meters on the unit do not move, and the software (garageband) also doesn't show any signal coming through. I have updated the drivers and the firmware to the latest versions.

Hey, I have a Line 6 POD Studio UX2, and also have a HP laptop. But everytime i got to use my UX2, theres big time glitches comming from my headphones. I tried everything that other people told me, and also what the manuels told me to do, i also called the support line, and still didnt help. So now im wondering if there something i can change in my computer, for it to not have any glitches sound? Because one of the guys told me from support is that POD studios dont work well with HP laptops, witch I find rediculouse, so any help would be awsome. Thanks.

UX2/Pod Farm: Volume Pedal & Footswitch use?

I am trying to use a volume pedal with my UX2. Can someone confirm that this is possible at all? The UX2 has 2 'footswitch' outputs and I have tried connecting various volume/expression pedals to both of them, including a genuine Line6 volume pedal, but it does not work. In fact, I can't get any footswitch to do anything..... It would be good to be able to use a latch-type footswitch to do punch-in and out during recording/overdubbing. I would be grateful for any hints and tips. I read all the documentation I could find, but to no avail.

Hooking up an external mixer to the toneport ux 2

I really need assistance with this matter. Is it possible to hook an external mixer to the ux 2? I have a yamaha mg 12/4, now can I go from the main outs of the mixer to the line inputs of the ux2? if so how do I do this? cause in pod farm you have to select the line input 1 or 2 right? I want to hook up a mic pre amp too, so is it possible to hook these things up?

Gearbox plugin connction problem after Podfarm install

Is there some kind of conflict between these 2 programs. I have owned GB plugin since it came out(using it in Cubase). I have it installed in Podxt and I installed the free Podfarm plug in Toneport ux2.

Now the GB shows as not connected in cubase. Podfarms size is just too big to use in my DAW or I would just use that. I like GB's small size--thats why I bought it. I uninstalled Podfarm on UX2 and refreshed my GB in Monkey but still no luck. All my drivers are up to date and I am familiar with connection trouble shooting/rebooting/unplugging usb and so forth.. I have mixes to do.

any ideas?

I´ve been using my UX1 with an Intel-based laptop running WXP Sp3 and it worked perfectly for the last months. One month ago, I got an HP TX2000 series laptop (AMD Turion X2, Ati Radeon 3200, 2gb RAM) running Vista and my UX1 just can´t seem to work. I´ve updated everything to the latest drivers, tried disabling Wireless, Onboard Soundcard and everything that has been sugested in this forum, but nothing seems to work. When I change buffer sizes I get some difference (some sounds I play in the guitar are recognizable) but it´s still no good. Is there any known issue with Toneport UX1 and Vista or AMD?

Gearbox PodFarm interaction errors- unsupported patch

Firstly I do not understand why I have to use Gearbox to get tones in and out of my PodXT Live. Why can't PodFarm do that for me? It makes no sense not to have the functionality of PodFarm and Gearbox integrated into one application but the PodFarm standalone does not work with the PodXT Live.

Anyway, given that I do, I am having problems. If I modify a tone in the PodFarm plugin in my DAW e.g. just by adding a note, when I try to load that tone again in Gearbox (say I wanted to put the tone back onto the PodXT Live) then the tone will not load. I get the message "Unable to Load Tone. Reason: (Code 8000A009) Unsupported patch type.

I have a Toneport UX1 which has been happily connected to my PC and working for over a year.

Yesterday, I launched PODFarm standalone and it complained that no compatible device was detected.

I took the time to dowload the latest drivers, monkey, gearbox and podfarm and re-installed them all.

Still, no apps can see the Toneport.

Note :

The green light is on.

The Toneport is my audio interface - windows sees it and it works.

ASIO Drivers see the Toneport and work with it, too. I can still get sound out of it.

Anyone seen this before - any ideas of what to try next ?

Bad Sound

Hi.

I got the podfarm just above one week ago.

I was happy with sound etc. But wanted more bass amp.

So i bought expansion package.

And after downloading/following instructions

my pod farm lost its good sound.

Before the basspackage i was able to play along with songs,

but now i can hardly hear the bassguitar while playing.

I can almost hear it as well from my fingers then from my headphone.

This was not a problem before getting bassexpasnion.

After getting this troubles, i uninstalled everything in order to reinstall, got cd.

But nothing happend, just the same problems.

Actualy i was not able to install at all, so i downloaded the podfarm from your

netpage.

Whats up with my pod?

I notized while reading instruction, trying to figure out whats wrong, there are no plugins

in the folders where they are supposed to be according to instruction.

I'm trying to connect my pod 2.0 to my computer so i can download different tones/ effects. I have bought what i think are the correct midi cables ( its a MIDI USB IN and OUT... im not very familer with any of this). The cables connect into the pod easily and have put the MIDI IN cable and OUT in the correct slot in the pod.

I downloaded the Line 6 edit and Line 6 Monkey but have had problems getting it to recognise my Pod 2.0. When I insert the USB into an open slot in my computer, the computer recognises the device (a balloon comes up saying its recognised device and ready to use). BUT... on the line 6 edit when i try to configure i click "Refresh"... nothing happens, so i click add and select my Pod 2.0 and click "ok" and i get "no device" "Could not connect to pod 2.0, please check all MIDI and power connections and click 'refresh' in the tone locker" and i still cant get it to recognise.

On the MIDI cable i have the power LED light lit... but there are 2 other LED lights IN and OUT which arent lit. Everything seems to be connected fine.

Any ideas? any advice would be great!

Issues getting Pod Farm to work in Sonar 8 with Guitar Port interface

I have been struggling for quite a while to get Pod Farm to work in Sonar 8.0. If I run Pod Farm stand alone it works great. As soon as I attempt to use Pod Farm as a Plug-in in Sonar the tone goes from great to horrendously awful. I have done all of the obvious things that I can think of, including updating to the latest version of Pod Farm, making sure the firmware on the Guitarport is up to date, checking and adjusting the buffers in Sonar, and so on. I'm not sure what to do next. If someone has a list of systematic steps to follow so that I can identify and resolve my setup I would be very, very appreciative. Here are some details about my computer:

Pentium D dual core running at 3.00ghz

3 GB ram

Plenty of SATA hard drive space

Delta 66 Audio card with most current M-Audo drivers

Guitar Port interface

Pod Farm with fully activated plugin packs

Latest Line 6 divers (verified by Line 6 monkey v. 1.31)

Sonar 8.3.1 installed

Symptoms when I use Pod Farm in Sonar:

Recordings are jittery, and break up.

Sound cuts out intermittently.

Has a tone similar to a ring modulator, even when I am using a basic setup (JC-120 model with no effects - no chorus or anything else)

I'm feeling very frustrated because I can't seem to figure out how to resolve this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should try next?

Problems with UX2 and video+audio

Alright, so basically I have this damn annoying problem with my UX2.

It overruns my normal soundcard, which is what it's supposed to do of course. I disabled my internal soundcard. I had some problems with crackling but I thought I solved that by changing USB port and optimizing my PC.

Turns out, the audio starts crackling hard when I, like watch a video on youtube, or when I play music out of anywhere in general whilst something on the screen in moving. Even when I scroll in IE, it starts crackling. When someone comes online on MSN while I am typing this, it is enormous crackle. And the stupid thing is, CPU usage doesn't go above like 20% or something. I just want to be able to properly watch video's on YouTube, or listen to some music while surfing the internet, without having annoying crackles. Oh and it doesn't crackle when I'm using podfarm (which also moves, but apparently doesn't affect anything... UX2 is set as soundcard everywhere, so any interferring is not possible)

tl:dr; audio starts crackling whenever something on the screen is moving.

What do I do? I already tried adjusting stuff in the MIDI control panel (you know, Control Panel -> Line 6)

Specs: Acer Aspire 9414ZWSMi

Intel Pentium Dualcore 1.86 GHz, 120 GB harddrive, 2GB DDR2, GeForce GO 7300 up to 400 mb.

I have recorded with my acoustic using the 1/4 inch standard input but it sounds rather electonic.. I'm not sure if it's the pickup which is a piezo or if there is a better way to record. My Strat sounds great though with no issues there.. Can I use a mic in the xlr port or can I use an acoustic directly connected using an xlr output? What type of mic would be recommended? Also I see that the UX1 does not supply phantom power can a separate power supply be used? Any info on this would be appreciated.

Toneport UX2 - Huge glitching problems on Windows Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 - HELP!

I'm using a Toneport UX2 on my PC (Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83ghz with 8gb RAM).

I had been using this without issue on a 32bit Vista system up until recently. I'm getting "glitching" (cracking, popping) during playback of any audio (*including playing guitar, cd's, even windows tones).

I was using Vista 64 but today upgraed to Widnows 7; I thought Win7 might take care of these issues but they're still there. I;ve tried the new Windows 7 beta drivers. I;ve tried messing about with latency settings, 16 bit, 24 bit, 32 bit options etc. No Joy!!!

Can anyone help with this? I have read about others with this problem but posts seem old and nobody seem to have an answer in anything I've found to date.

I've spent alot of cash on this gear and the add-ons, I really dont want to have to buy something non-Line 6 just to get over this.

Any comments/thoughts would be appreciated.

I have the Gear Box Plugins Gold package and I'm using a Tone Port DI to run them ( I don't use it as a sound card )

I use the Tone Port UX2 for my sound card.

Mac OS 10.5.7

Logic 8.0.2

I keep getting this message..

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

If I restart Logic it will work and then just the plugin will stop working at random times.

I've tried different usb ports as well.

This is a pain.

How can we fix this ?

Also all the line 6 drivers/software is up to date.

Using PodFarm and Gearbox as plug-in

Bought a Toneport UX2 a couple of years ago. Been using it a lot lately with Garageband. Downloaded the latest version of Gearbox and added PodFarm. I just discovered it could be used as a plug-in. When I try to do so with either, Garageband recognizes them but I get Line6 error messages.

With PodFarm, it's the one that says something like "an authorized device is not connected or blah-blah-blah." Went to Monkey and tried to activate by typing in Refresh per a post I'd read. It goes to the server, downloads some add-ons and says transaction was successful. But then I have the same problem back on Garageband. Is it possible that I now need to purchase a license for this software for $49?

That's fine since PodFarm came out after my Toneport but I have the same problem with Gearbox. I would have assumed I was already licensed for Gearbox plug-in use when I bought the Toneport. When I open it in Garageband, I get a message that says I need to activate Gearbox and when I try to click it, it says that Monkey is not installed - which is incorrect.

So what do I have to do to get one or both of these guys going? Thanks in advance.

I just recently bought a Macbook and have just been installing Gearbox to use in conjunction with Logic Pro 9. However, upon installing and going to use it, despite being plugged in and the meter lights on the UX2 being lit, whenever I open Gearbox it cannot connect to it/doesn't recognise that it's even plugged in. I went into system preferences to look at the settings etc and on clicking the "Pod Xt Family USB" icon I got the message

"Can't open because it doesn't work on an intel based mac"

Please advise as I would like to use my UX2 with my Macbook.

Hi, we have had the Toneport Ux2 for over 12 months now and have not yet used it till today as been busy working and editing midi files on Cubase; We have mixed down our files to audio tracks now and I have been told that we should use the Toneport as an interface between the laptop and our mixer for playing back our music for live performance. I have connected the system as such; from USB on laptop to the USB on the Toneport, then from the two Analog Outs of the toneport to the channel inputs on our soundcraft desk. I have previously connected the laptop directly to the mixer via the headphone output of the laptop and have been able to play the files. However, on connecting the Toneport, we are unable to open the Windows Media Files to play the audio tracks we wish too; I have also tried connecting from the headphones output on laptop to the Line Inputs of the Toneport and have still had no success. Failing this I went to the section on the toolbox to load tracks into Toolbox and play them through there though it wouldnt let me do this either. I know there is something simple and silly that I have overseen but could use some help on this to use our Toneport.

I have a couple issues with the UX2 on my Imac.

Monkey tells me that i have all the current drivers etc.

1) Although it works for the most part,

When opening Pod Farm as a stand alone, I always have to choose the UX2 if I start Pod Farm where it used to be able to find it.

2) If possible, How can i get the UX2 to record two inputs at the same time, on seperate tracks in logic 9 ?

for example: Mic 1 and Inst 1 (Gear box seemed to offer this, although I never tried it)

3) Is it possible yet to choose the UX2 inputs within the logic as the host app?

I'm running PodFarm on OSX and when I plug in a mic on my KB37, I'm unable to select it in PodFarm. I'm only able to select Instrument. Logic and Garage Band don't seem to be too helpful in determining how to get the mic to work. The keyboard doesn't work in PodFarm or Logic, but I am able to use the keyboard in Garage Band.

I have been using Pod Farm without any problems for over a year in Pro Tools 7 and Pro Tools 8. I just switched from an Apple 5 to a MacPro 8-core. I uploaded the latest drivers and version 1.11. The Pod Farm stand alone works fine, but the VST plug-in causes problems in Native Instruments Kore 2 (the program freezes while launching, while it is scanning the Pod Farm plug-in) and the RTAS plug-in causes Pro Tools 8 to freeze while trying to open the Pod Farm plug-in. Please help, I have been trouble shouting for a day now, trying older versions, etc. Nothing seems to work and I am on a couple of deadlines.

I have tried in several ways on how to load the plug-in but I still haven't really found how, I have loaded it by adding an effect channel on a track and it loads but it doesn't detects sound and I don't hear anything, I set the VST Audiobay to an ASIO UX1 (which I think is my pod studio device) and it seems that Cubase detects the sound I'm playing with my guitar but when I load Pod Farm it doesn't detects sound and therefore I can't hear anything. I have installed all disc,s (pod farm ver. 1 livelite7, riffworks, reason adapted) i have completed all product activates, and updates apart for pod farm 1.00 to 1.11, this has failed in spite of 3 attempts, i have sound through the headphone socket on the pod and also from the pod via my amp. But have yet to find any way of recording to my computer.

Can you help me with simple instruction on how to check my installation, i do not want to use the pod as my normal sound card.

UX 2 Help

I recently bought the UX2 and I'm having some difficulty recording. Actually I'm not able to record anything at all. I'm using cool edit pro 2.0 at the moment. I am able to use pod farm and get sound through the headphones and output signals but when I try and record I have sound but no signal registering in my recording software. Thats is to say I have the sounds and tones I'm using in pod farm but nothing in my recording software as I record or when I try and playback the recording. It seems like this is just a simple error in settings but I haven't been able to fix the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is there any way possible to get replacement discs for Podfarm Platinum, Abelton Live, and Reason. I just purchased a TonePort KB37 and the box didn't include any of the discs. I paid $350.00 (US) for it and expected to be able to use it right out of the box, but I have no use for it if I have nothing to use it with. I specifically bought it for the PodFarm plug in. UX2 totally useless due to crackling

My laptop broke down some time ago so I got myself a new one. I installed Gearbox and Toneport UX2 drivers but I can't get them to work properly. I use FL studio as my main DAW and every time I start it I get massive amounts of digital crackling and stuttering. This also happens when I start Gearbox. I can't play mp3 music through UX2 either. I've tried maximazing all possible buffers, shutting down all the other audio devices and so forth and I have the latest drivers but nothing seems to work. Once after I booted the system I got a few seconds of proper operation, but then the crackling started again and I haven't been able to replicate this behaviour.

If anyone has any useful advice, it would be appreciated greatly. I'm getting rather desperate not being able to make music.

My laptop is HP Pavilion DV7-2050eo with an AMD Turion X2 dualcore processor and 4GB of RAM and my primary audio device is an "IDT Audio" high definition audio device.

I am in the great position of having my ilok stolen. It was stolen from my laptop bag at Malga airport which security would not allow through, because of two kensington laptop padlocks!, therefore I had to put the bag back through check in. im using pro tools 8.0.1 with dual monitors with windows xp when i open pod farm as an insert it hangs on the right hand monitor but not on the left hand one. I can scroll through all the amps and everything when the plug in is opened on the left hand monitor but not on the right. Even if i put the plugin in the middle of the 2 screens the left hand side will scroll but the right wont. Has any one else had this problem also has any one had any plugins that conflict with pod farm ive been pulling my hair out with this for about 4 weeks. PLEASE HELP!

For exapmle: My Gearbox version 3 states "Install this software BEFORE connecting your hardware. I install the gearbox along with the KB 37 divers and plug in when asked to towards the end of set-up. However my computer fails to recognise the toneport is plugged in. When plugged into my hub the KB37 does have two flashing lights. in the past i have tried using many downladable drivers to help solve my problem but to no joy. To be honest i'm not the most technically minded person so please help.

I have an Advent laptop, Windows Vista if that helps?

So I've had the toneport ux2 for about a year and recently bought an imac. I installed gearbox and when I connected the Toneport nothing lit up. I downloaded the drivers off of the Line 6 website and installed them and now the Toneport lights up, but does not read my guitar when I connect it and play (the knobs on the LED readers don't move and I don't get a sound/reading in gearbox.)

I previously had Windows XP 32-bit installed with my KB37 TonePort and POD Farm software...seemed to run fine.

Then, I upgraded to Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium and now I get periodic pops/cracks in the sound. These pop/cracks happen when using my guitar through the KB37 TonePort with POD Farm and even when just listening to MP3s. I believe the problem lies withing the ASIO drivers and how they interact with a Vista 64 environment...not 100% sure though.

I have tried the tweaks presented here http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-1490 , but to no avail. Has Line6 identified the cause of the problem and have a "get-well" date and patch to fix this? I am deeply concerned with being able to continue use of this equipment and future Line6 purchases. It would be disappointing to have to look to other companies for my equipment & software. Your support is highly appreciated!

I was wondering about installing Pod Farm 1.11.0 (L6TWXY Version 4.22.0) on 2 of my computers. If i do so, will they both allow me to authorize/use the same Studio UX2 on both of them if i activate it on both? Also, since I've already activated it/installed it on this one, but it won't run it garageband. When I open podfarm in garageband, it says no authorized device at the bottom. But the stand alone Podfarm says my Ux2 is connected. If it helps, I'm running a mac with OS X 10.4.11 on it.

crackling noise coming from ux1 interface

I have had my ux1 now for a few months. it worked well on windows xp, although it did crackle a bit but it was tolerable.

I recently bought a new laptop with vista premium and the noise that it produced was ridiculous!!

I got a windows 7 upgrade when i bought the laptop but even when that arrived it was still terrible

the noise is like a horrible crackling sound and you can just barely make out the sound of the audio im playing back underneith it.

This makes my ux1, pod farm and riffworks completely useless because they only work with line 6 interfaces.

since the ux1 is my only interface my sonar 7 is now useless too.

if its not fixed soon ill have to sell the line 6 and buy an m-audio or guitar rig usb interface which i didnt want to do.

what can i do to sort this problem out??

i need a reply asap please or this is the last line 6 product ill ever buy.

I just bought POD Farm for my Mac running Logic Studio Pro 8. After running Line 6 monkey it informed me there was a newer version, which I downloaded and installed. Now upon booting Logic Pro POD farm v1.11 repeatedly fails the AU validation scan procedure and has to be disabled for Logic to run. So far I cannot use POD farm until this is resolved. I own a POD X3 PRO and now try to get PODfarm working in Cubase LE. For reasons I don't understand Cubase can't find PODfarm however standalone PODfarm seems to work fine. I have tried to activate this application in Line6 Monkey, but as I do not have a licensekey I get "transaction failed code 80003024" (probably PODfarm is already activated as I own the POD X3 Pro). When I try to open PODfarm standalone I noticed it does not recognize the POD X# Pro; I need to choose another device (UX1 for instance).

I hope you can help me with this issue.

My friend sold me his guitar a few months ago and he gave me his POD version 2.0 with it. He told me a long time ago, he downloaded sounds from bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana from online and was able to transfer and save those sounds into his POD, but this was not the POD he sold me. He did this with his other POD, which might be an more recent version than the one he gave me. I really want to be able to play specific sounds from my favorite bands through my POD, but my question is where online would I go to get these sounds and is it free? My guess is that my POD version 2.0 is too old to even support this function and that I would need a newer version of the POD and a program like POD Farm? I really want to know the answer to this. I would appreciate any help.

I am running my UX2 through POD Farm and Reaper for my recording software. Lately I have been experiencing some lagging when I play, for example I'll play a note and it will be picked up half-a-second later. I noticed it starting to happen when my band recorded the drums and I set POD farm to dry input, after this when I changed it back to processed I started noticing the problem. I tried messing around with the buffering settings and muted the track while recording, this is what the Guitar Center employee told me, but it went to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

i recently bought a pod studio ux2 about last week. i have been recording fairly well until about yesterday

everytime i load pod farm, i get a very loud noise at the outputs. this noise comes up on the level monitors in pod farm

and in adobe audition which i use to record. the noise does not come out to the phones output.

i have since tried reinstalling pod farm, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers and changing the usb ports of the device and properly configuring them

this loud noise overpowers any input i might want to record thus making it impossible to record anything other than the noise.

i have seen other posts similar to this and have also tried plugging and unplugging the usb ports. i have also tried turning the phantom power switch on and off a number of times before, during and after reconnecting.

the last thing i did before the problem arised was try to monitor my yamaha psr 1100 (basic midi keyboard) which i had also connected to my pc from adobe audition onto my ux2, which i had done a number of times before.

i bought this item in tom lee hong kong while on vacation and am now back in the philippines.

please help. i am completely at a loss. i dont know what to do.

if not, are there other programs which i can use to configure the ux2 other than pod farm? i dont know if this is a software or a hardware problem.

I'm running a MacBook Pro and trying to use the GX with Garageband, with no luck. Yesterday I was finally able to get a signal to garageband from the guitar and hear the output through my computer's sound system. However, there was unacceptable static and distortion. I boxed the GX up last night and was going to send it back, but thought I'd give it one more chance today.

Today I can't even seem to get a signal to show up in Garageband. I've checked the system sound settings and GarageBand audio settings and set the input to GX and output to system settings, which is what I think worked yesterday. I can hear the guitar through the line out port on the GX box, and when when I tried Gearbox, it seemed to be interfacing with the GX box OK and I could hear the effect changes through the earphones on the box, but nothign through the computer sound system after I unplugged the earphones. I read available information on your forums and downloaded and installed the latest GX driver, plugged the USB from the GX directly into the computer, and I am not running wireless.

I am running Snow Leopard. Should I try the beta driver before giving up?

I was trying to install my new Studio UX2 and Pod Farm.

I downloaded the latest Pod Farm for Snow Leopard and it keeps coming up with an error message:

The System extension "/System/Library/Extensions/Line6Audio.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update.

What does it mean? I downloaded the latest driver as well from the "Downloads" and it came up with the same message.

Also, as soon as I plug in the Studio UX2, it freezes my system straight and I have to Force Shut Down.

Can anyone tell me why it happens?

Im Adam, and im planning to buy a studio GX interface. I am already using a guitar effects software (not line6) and im getting a very high latency (i plug my guitar straight into my motherboard's 'line in' ). If i buy a line6 usb interface, will i get a lower latency ? Because i belive if i play on a line6 usb thing, then that does the main processing, not my CPU . I own Pod Farm Platinum for iLok. Does anyone have any recomendations for recording software that will allow me send the signal into my Pod Farm Platinum and hear it before I record it? I currently own Acid Pro 6 and I have a copy of Acid Studio Pro7. It seems that I can only apply effects to a track that has been recorded. There doesn't seem to be a way to play my guitar and monitor the effects with my Pod Farm Platinum iLok activated software. I connect my guitar using a Line 6 Guitarport. I also own an Alesis Multimix Firewire mixing board. Using either of these I can her my signal, but when I activate my Pod Farm Plat Plug-in It's still a clean signal. Is there a way to actually hear Pod Farm Platinum effects realtime monitoring before I record? I am a rookie. =)

Or maybe that's just how Pod Farm Plat iLok works? You can use it to apply to tracks already recorded? Maybe Acid Studio 7 just doesn't have that feature and maybe I should use different recording software? Any recomendations or advice would be cool. I am new at this.

I have recently purchased a new Toneport DI-Gold. The program opens up and installs just fine, but when I proceed to plug in my guitar (which works on other amplifiers), I hear no sound. My guitar cord is brand new as well. I have installed all the latest drivers for the program, and done every update Line6 Monkey has to offer. I have checked to make sure that the USB drives are functional, as well as making sure the gearbox is using the sound card on my laptop for playback. My gear is registered, I have looked at threads for help, I have extensively read the PDF (though I may have missed something), and I am out of ideas. I have checked everything I can think of: my sound works, my headphones (should I choose to use them) work, and everything seems completely functional with the toneport. I am even considering setting it as my default speaker and buying a headphone adapter (size 1/4 inch) so I can plug into the toneport and listen directly from there. However, I don't want to have to do that.

I also feel it is important to let you know that the GearBox indeed detects my guitar: When I strum a note, it shows up on the meter, as well as on the tuner.

After running a compatibility check, everything passes but:

- the chipset (it says I may have limited privelages, but I doubt that means no sound)

- My processor, Intel(R) DuoCore P6800 @ 2.4GHz (I read from one of your support threads that I need not put too much weight on what the monkey says)

- Drive DMA mode (Apparently mine is in PIO, but I don't know how to change it. Perhaps the problem?)

I may be able to take into a different room and use it with a desktop for troubleshooting's sake, but it cannot stay there.

I am using a 2 month old dell laptop, with 32-bit version of vista.

I have the UX2. I also have Sonar 4. When I use the POD Farm Standalone, I can modfy amps, sounds, etc with no problem. Sonar recognized my VST plug-in and I can insert it. I can hear my bass no problem through the hardware but the plugin shows no signal.

Hi I recently purchased the line 6 ux1 pod studio and am very satisfied with pod farm, but when i use it as a plugin on ableton, there is severe latency, so i turned the volume down to attempt to record something and anything i record is 'cut up' and not as played. I am playing on an Audio track, with the input Ext in. and output master. so far i am unable to record anything that sounds remotely like music because it comes out so bad. Im am assuming i dont have things working the best way or something, because thers no way to record with that kind of latency. thanks for your reply.

I just purchased the Pod Studio UX2 and it came with Ableton Live Lite 7.0.10. I upgraded this to Ableton Live Lite 7.0.16, but I have still some urgent questions:

- I can't load mp3's, only wav's. Correct?

- When I export the finished wav's, I get only about 1 minute of music. Correct?

- The "normal" Ableton version is available for nothing less than $269. Correct?

If the answer to these 3 questions is "Yes" then I won't use this program and find another one, like Audacity. Or does anyone have another suggestion? (Remember that I am totally new on this recording stuff, any advice will do).

This fix worked for me.

Right click the monkey 1.27 short cut then click on "Properties".

Go to "Compatibility tab".

check "windows xp (service pack 3)"

Now at same tab under "Privilege level" check "run this program as an administrator".

That will do it.

If for some reason this does not work for you uninstall 1.27 then install 1.26 and be sure to install only the drivers that your hardware requires.

Hi,

i just purchased the kb37 with pod farm 1.03 and get it to work .

im using a macbook pro ,a digidesign 003 rack with pro tools 8.

a few questions:

how do I get a signal from a guitar through the kb37 in a way that i can use the pod farm as a plug in on pro tools to record stuff .where should i plug ins and outs so i get to record ?

how do i get to use the kb37 as a midi controller through pro tools 8 ,or through digidesign 003 rack?

please help me ,it's so frustrating to have the gear and not being able to use it.

i am using my Toneport UX2 as a soundcard because i want to use my monitor boxes not only for recording purpose.

The problem often encounter cracks in the audiostream when there is activity on the screen (example: using firefox to play

a video on a website which uses has flash animations).

I found this issue addressed in the document "Computer System Audio Optimization":

Q: I am getting pops/clicks in my audio stream when I open other programs?

A: There is no quick fix to solve this situation, but some end users have had success by installing a higher quality video card.

Solving this problem is not easy for me because i use a laptop and the video card cannot be exchanged easily.

So, my question is: when there is no "quick fix" available, will the problem be fixed in the near future?

Hey

I've installed my toneport Ux2 on my computer. I followed the orders on the manual. My computer reconized the toneport. But when I start gearbox, it says that the usb cable is not connected. Somtimes (1 on 1 million) it works perfect. When running line 6 monkey, it says that no driver is installed. Also in the computer configuration screem, there is a "line 6 audio-midi device" icon. When dubble click on it, it say that there are no devices connected.

How to solve this problem?

last week I went to use podfarm and it was just making distorted sounds. called support and they told me to download the new driver (as I had recently upgraded to OSX 10.5.8). i did that and everything worked fine.

today I went to use it and it sounded like I had a bit crusher and tremolo on my signal. I checked, there were no effects. quit the app and restarted, happened again. tried using the toneport DI silver without podfarm and still had the problem. tried a different USB cable, same problem. I even tried using a different guitar and guitar cord.

next I plugged in with my mbox into Logics amps and everything worked great. didn't call Line 6 support as I had to go pick up my daughter. can't understand what happened. I have made absolutely no changes to my computer, and it was working fine a week ago. no other apps are acting up except Pod Farm. am so bummed, today was my guitar tracking day. aargh.

1). Is PodFarm, Gearbox and Line 6 Monkey compatible?

2). Rather than upgrade, i'd like to take this opportunity to do a fresh install on my system to ensure i get the best from it, how do i go about ensuring that all my purchased add-ons will still work as I don't have them stored physically anywhere?

POD Farm VST/RTAS report hardware not present or authorized

The Monkey reports POD Farm is activated with the latest driver, but when I try to load the VST (in Sonar 8, Cantabile, etc) or the RTAS it reports that the hardware is either not present or it's not authorized. It is present & authorized. It works great when I load it by itself. What am I doing wrong? PLEASE don't tell me that I have to also purchase the VST version or something.

I have a POD XT Live and recently purchased the POD Farm license and it shows it as being being activated in Line 6 Monkey. But when I am in GarageBand, I can't seem to get the plug-in to work. I have Preferences set so that both the input and output audio is going back to the XT Live but it seems to want to record whatever tone I have activated on the pedal regardless of what is set in the plug-in. It's not recording a dry signal.

Plus, when I look at the plug-in in GB it states that it is ready to be activated... ????

I've subscribed to www.jimmybrunoguitarinstitute.com All students can upload videos to Jimmy, playing themselves to playbacks. But I don't get it to work.

I have a HP notebook, Line6 UX2, Microsoft Movie Maker, Reaper. I can play to playbacks running in winamp or in Reaper or on the net using the UX2, but when I record a video, I just can hear the guitar, no playback. The format of the playback (midi, wav, mp3) doesn't matter, no difference. Any suggestions?

Upon opening Line 6 Monkey, I am alerted of some "new features". Once these "features" were installed, I found myself having a green checkmark on Propellerhead Record. Pretty cool I think...Only problem it asks for a license key and my purchase history doesn't have any propellerhead record key or forthat matter i just don't have one in general so....what gives? Do I or do I not have Propellerhead Record or is it just a checkmark to tell that IF I HAD Record, my amp models would be waiting...?

Brand new Macbook Pro 15" 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Ram, OS X 10.5.6, Old Toneport UX2, newly updated to Pod farm. Crashes the computer after a while when i'm runnin pod farm. Everything seems to work fine but it will randomly crash the mac every time. Everything just stops and i get a gray box on the screen that says I must restart my computer.

Hi,

I get a free pod farm to use with mi pod xt live, but they don't work. When I try to use it show the mensage

"No compatible Line6 USB divice have been detected", and show the options, UX1 UX2 GX KB37 TonePort UX1...... Until Guitar port".

After that the software open but don't work, there is a mensage in the botton " NO autorized device conected, pod farm cannot process audio"

I folowed the instructions of the "pod farm use guide" but nothing work. What I can do to solver that problem?

I try re install, but now mi license key is rejected.

Im using Sonar 7, and i have Guitar rig 3, i really like the distortions and effects of guitar rig 3 so i want to use this for recording.. but i cant open them together.. when i open GR3 the audio driver for sonar isnt available, so its impossible for me to record my guitar tracks using guitar rig 3, i know i can use GR3 as a plug in insisde the sonar.. but i want to record while hearing the tone that i like.. the only way that i can record while hearing my guitar is to open POD Farm, then the record will be dry.. then ill add the Guitar Rig 3 plug in into that track.. but i dont want this kind of setup. i want to hear Guitar Rig 3 to hear what im actually recording. is there any setup for this? or maybe using different recording software? thanks.

I recorded myself playing the guitar through the X3 dry to get the right levels and tweaked until I got the tone I want. Now I can't get that sound into the X3 without manually entering everything.

Can I put to POD Studio guitar input my guitar cable with all effects I have (guitar + Digitech Whammy + Pocked POD effects + Dunlop Cry Baby)? Will it work? I've been on the beta for Record for a while now and bought a Line6 UX-1 to enable more guitar sounds in the Line6 Guitar Module. I've installed Pod Farm and the device works great when used in that app. The first time I launched Record, I was told to register the device. I followed the steps, restarted Record and everything look fine. However in Record, I see no additional amps or cabinets against the Line6 module.

I'm new to both Record and Line6 products so am a little out of my depth here. I hope there's enough information in what I've described that someone can help steer me in the right direction here.

Trouble loading my Tone Port GX on another computer

I'm trying to install my Tone Port GX on a computer that I just picked up specifically to run this hardware and software on. However, I keep getting a message stating "Cannot Install this Hardware - TonePort GX", "An error occurred during the installation of the device, the data is invalid".

I previously had my software/hardware installed on other computers, however they have since crashed. Are there a limited number of computers I can install the hardware/software on?

Any help would be appreciated. My Operating System is Window XP.

No Sound from PC

When I connect the UX-2 and my guitar and run POD Farm, I can see the level indicators on-screen indicating that there is a signal. Although other audio items work through the speakers (Windows sounds, etc.), I get no real-time sound from the instrument. I have checked volume levels, mute, etc. on the PC without any success. Am I supposed to hear the instrument sounds via the PC Speakers?

Problems installing UX2

I'm trying to install the toneport UX2. When I install the POD farm at the end of the installation it pops up with this message "System extension cannot be used. the system extension/system/library/extension Line6 audio text was installed improperly" It says the programme was installed properly and asks me to restart the computer. When I restart the computer I can't find any way or link to then connect the hardware. If I connect the hardware via the USB port the screen stalls and tells me to restart the computer. What can I do?

UX8 Driver ASIO is crashing and now unable to record

I have a Toneport UX8 and when I load up Cubase and PodFarm the red lights indicating that the device drivers are not ready light up. They appear when I load both programs but not when I start up. Also in podfarm when the lights are flashing it does say ux8 connected and the device drivers in cubase dont say device removed. I can't get on the line 6 audio-midi devices window as it wont load.

The audio is still being outputted from the ux8 but it is not being recieved on the computer so I can't record vocals with it.

All the programs are up to date and the drivers are up to date. What is wrong?

I am already running Snow Leopard. I installed Gearbox, installed the 4.2.4 driver, got the error:

System extension cannot be used. the system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/Line6Audio.kext" was installed improperly and cannot beused. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.

Gearbox then runs without a kernal panic but does not recognize the device. The pulldown only has a choice for PodXT. If I choose that, it cannot see the TonePort and does not work.

I have a Mac Pro INTEL 9GBRam. Running Leopard 10.5.6. I have the Pod Studio UX2. I uploaded the very latest Pod Farm and drivers as of today 5/7. I'm using a Denon tuner receiver to drive my studio custom speaker (not computer speakers with a sub woffer). I get activity on the green LED's on the Pod farm innerface and activity on the 2 VU meters on the UX3 device but no audio from speakers. I have the analog outs of the UX2 into the back of my denon into the IN/PB as shown in the attachment. Help. I then disconnected from the amp and tried to hear iTunes thru the headphones but only distored very low scratchy sound could be heard.Volume on iTunes Maxed out. I fear I have an incompatabiliity some where on my mac.

All this under the direction of Line 6 tech. and Sweetwater Tech's.

UX2 right output is louder than left

I bought my UX2 last November and have been using it happily ever since, but today I came to do some work on a song I'm mixing and suddenly the right speaker sounds way louder than the left. I checked the speakers but they seemed fine; I then swapped the cables in the left and right outputs (so the left speaker was now connected to the right output, and vice versa), and sure enough the left speaker was now way louder.

It's as if there's a balance control somewhere that's been thrown over to the right accidentally, but I can't find it, either on the UX2 itself or anywhere in software. It's connected to my MacBook, and I've checked the balance in System Preferences for the UX2 -- that's set to dead centre, exactly where it should be.

Is there a secret balance control that I've somehow knocked? If so, where is it? If not, how do I fix this?

Why does Pod Farm sound so weird?

I have the Pod Farm Plug in that i use with fruity loops 8, but i can;t get anything to sound right. All the amps are extremely hissy and noisy when there is any distortion, and its darn near impossible to get a decent output volume. Plus all the eq settings seem weird. Its like there is very little bass and not much treble. Do i have something set up wrong?

But when I enter it and press Confirm/Submit button, I get the following error message (which does not give much information).

What is the real difference besides the paint job and the use of POD Farm instead of GearBox?

Hi, I'm realy enjoying my pod studio and the pod farm software, but when I try to use the VST version of Pod Farm it drives the cpu straigh up to 99%... It looks to me as it is the ap models that cause this.

It's a great piece of software proucing great sounds, but this makes it pretty much useless for me in a production setting

Are there any solutions to this? Or perhaps some upgrades coming?

Well, I dont know how to start, I bought a while ago a Tone port UX1, but it didn't get too much use, I was attracted by the possibility to use the included recording software to help me do some backtracks lines (mainly bass, and drums), but seems like I'm to dumb to learn, so I just let it on my desktop getting dust.

A few days ago, my X-fi broke, so I started to use UX1 as a sound card, and tried a few of the models that come with Gearbox, and WOW! I have two days playing with this little marvel, and I'm so hooked to it that I need to take the tones I created on stage, so I was thinking if there's a way to do that, besides getting a laptop live :S.

Also, I see there's a new version of the UX1, that uses no more the Gearbox software I'm using right now, despite I updated the software, it is possible to get this software instead of gearbox? also, will I lost my tones???

I recently purchased a ux2. Every time that I put my toneport into my computer, with gearbox installed and my guitar plugged in, the gear box doesn't recognize my guitar and the volume meter on the toneport starts jumping from low to high rapidly. The toneport Latency was great with my laptop, having it on the second tick mark to flawlessly proccess my guitar, with absolute no latency at all, even with recording, my guitar signal would be picked up and sent through all my software with no issue at all. Starting maybe 3 months ago, I noticed i started to get pops here and there after a software update, fine i said shoving it off so i would slide the buffer to the right to deal with the pops. Unfortunately now, two weeks ago a set the slider to the extreme far right for the largest buffer, and now i get pops and clicks every other 5 notes on my guitar while doing a scale run, and i get clicks every other 2 seconds having it set as my soundcard for my windows media player to the point where i don't use the toneport at all. There is no pattern at all with the clicks, it is steady for 5 secs, then it goes into click, audio 2 secs, click, audio 1 sec, click. I only used the toneport to record maybe 10 songs, and that was in the first two months i had it. I used the toneport to play my music through using the WMP all the time though, and now i can't use it at all with the clicks and what not. There has gotta be someone there to help me, my cpu usage is always like at 2% with a great system. I don't even care about latency recording issues, the toneport itself is having latency issues and proccessing sound. Some1 please help, sucks because this truly sounds like a hardware issue with my toneport. I've tried updating, reinstalling gearbox to the newest version and even going back to the installation cd to see if it would work and I am still getting Latency issues. The Installation CD is vers 3.0.

I run Windows Xp Sp.2, with a Intel Duo Core 1.83 Ghz proccessor. The only problem with my computer is that it doesn't want to instal Windows networks frame 1.0 or 1.1, i forget, but i have all the rest, would that be the issue, but i don't understand how the Latency has just gotten worse, and worse, and worse overtime. It is the most frustrating thing, to have something you enjoy, than slowly crap out on you overtime. Please help.

i am trying to use Live Light 7 and the Line 6 UX2 to record guitar and voice at the same time, but I can not get Live Light 7 to recognize the microphone unless I am not on dual and am only using the microphone. I want to make a two track recording--a song with a scratch vocal track so that I can sing over top of it and scratch the first vocal track but can not get live light seven to recognize the microphone.

When I plug my headphones into my UX2 all I get is loud crackling and popping. The sound of the guitar is faint by comparison, even at high volume, and the sound of the guitar is dropping in and out, almost like a really bad tremelo effect. Hello there,

Today I very happily recieved a large cardbard box containing my band's new PA system, and my Pod UX1. Both work great!

I was wondering if its possible, and/or a good idea, to plug the UX1's output into a line input on the PA system? I would have thought so, I'm just posting this in case I'm about to do something horribly wrong and blow up my new stuff.

Also, if I can plug the UX1 into this PA system, what output should I use on the UX? There are two "analog outs", which I imagine are line level? Just use one of these and set the balance in Pod Farm to that side?

Ok, about 3 weeks ago I got a new Gateway laptop. I got home with it and installed the Vista 64bit drivers for Toneport on it and Gearbox. Instantly when running Gearbox I hit my problem. The audio is extremely distorted with constant pops and glitches. If I plug in either my guitar or mic you can't make out anything being said or played. For the guitar, a slight tone will come through now and again but it is still very distorted, and for the mic it only comes across as noise. I know that isn't a problem with Toneport as hardware because currently I have it running on an older computer, however, I would like to be able to use it on my laptop for the portability. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it and could shed some light on fixing it, it would be greatly appreciated.

although i have set up my toneport ux2 as instructed by the manuals on my new laptop that runs the 32bit version of windows vista home premium i'm suffering from audible pops and glitches when using gearbox. I've updated everyhing to do with the toneport and have cut background windows activities to the minimum.

Any advice on how to get rid of this? Anyone else suffer from it too?

I have more than enough ram (3gb).....it's just sooooo flipping annoying especially as i can't use the toneport for recording at the moment!!!

Roughly five months ago I purchased a Line 6 KB37 MIDI keyboard, this is the second device I have purchased which acts as a sound card for a computer. In the past I have also owned a Toneport UX2. Both devices have had the same issue.

The device has worked perfectly fine for the last five months and I have had no complaints whatsoever. However, out of the blue, the device has lost audio playback, the dials still move indicating that it recognizes audio, but the device only plays a metallic sound through the speakers.

Is there anything I can do to correct this issue at home, or do I need to send the keyboard in for service and repair?

Okay so, I've had a Toneport UX1 sound card for around 2-3 years, only I've never used it as a sound card. I only became aware a few months ago that it even was a sound card. I just knew it as the little device that let me record instruments.

In the first place, I had an onboard sound card which wasn't that bad, but still wasn't great to record with. But somewhere along the line I was given a Creative SBLive! sound card, so when I started trying to record with that everything would glitch and skip in the recording. I thought it could have been a RAM issue, so I bought more RAM. I needed it anyway. I've since tried recording some quick stuff with the same sound card but on the RAM updated computer and it is a lot better, but I'd prefer to have the UX1 as the default sound card.

Anyway, I posted on another forum asking the question "how do I use the UX1 as a sound-card?" and I came to the conclusion that I would have to plug my speakers into the UX1. However, there are two wires coming from my speakers (Creative Cambridge Soundworks FPS1000) and I hear tell it's usually just one. The two wires account for front and rear audio, but seeing as though I have nowhere to put the speakers that would enable the surround sound experience, this feature has no use to me.

The problem was, the wires were 1/8" jacks when all of the connectors, aside from the USB, on the UX1 were 1/4" jack sockets. So the dude on the other forum suggested I get some jack adaptors, and some splitters because of something to do with the fact the UX1 needs two wires to make it stereo. He told me then that only my front speakers would play sound, and I asked if there was a way around it, so I could hear audio from all the speakers. He suggested I get a few splitters- an 1/4" plug to two 1/8" sockets, then a 1/4" socket to two 1/4" plugs.

I went to the shop today and got these-

They only had a 1/4" to 1/4" adaptor, so I got the 1/8" to 1/4" jack adaptor so it fit. Anyway, I plugged it all in when I get home and it didn't work :/ When I plug headphones into the headphone socket on the front of the UX1 I hear audio, though. Just not when I plug the speakers in the "Analogue Outs" or even the headphone socket.

So my question is, how do I use my speakers with the UX1 as my sound-card? I understand I could buy new speakers that are compatible, but I'd rather keep expenses to a minimum.

I'm aware of the DL4, DM-4, and MM4, but those are based on presets built into the pedal. Sooooo ,,,, what i'm wondering, is there a pedal board that.. say you had a setting for a specific song you made in the POD FARM and then be able transfer over the settings into a pedal board and have the different pedals function according to your farm settings. The POD X3 Live and the PODxt Live seem pretty close to what I'm going for, but the specs don't mention FARM copatability. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am also having problems with the iLok version of POD Farm Standard overriding my fully unlocked PODxt's license for POD Farm. This occurs in both of my main DAW's: Record and ProTools 8. I spent a lot of $$ on all of the model packs (bought them long ago when they were full price) and I'd really like to be able to use the fully unlocked POD Farm with all of my other iLok'd plugin licenses. Hi all, I'm new to the forum.

Recently bought a GX and am trying to use it with Pod Farm and Riffworks, only problem is I can't get any audio! I'm using a laptop (intel, dualcore2, vista etc), and I've tried it both through the laptop's speakers and powered external speakers. I can see both Pod Farm and Riffworks picking up a signal but no audio is coming through the speakers. I've checked all the volume controls (including the one on the GX), the guitar leads and the guitar itself to make sure they're working.

Is there anything else I might be missing?

I (very unfortunately) installed Groove Agent3 a week after installing my Line 6 UX1.

Apart from all the other issues with GA3, it has disabled all the sounds from my UX1, leaving me with just a basic guitar sound.

I have re-installed all the drivers and software for the PodFarm, but still only have the basic sound.

This leaves this item effectively useless to me. I cannot find any help from any documentation, and there appears to be no Helpdesk available from Line 6.

Does anyone know how to get back my amp/effects sounds (without uninstalling GA3 - which is way overpriced), please?

I own a Line 6 PODxt Live before and i bought the Metal Shop Plugin and registered it to my account. I gave the PODxt Live to my cousin since i just bought a POD Studio GX. As what i understand, plugin licenses are not transferable, my question is, can i use the plugin for my POD Studio GX? and why the Metal Shop Plugin license does not appear on my account? hi there. i have a problem with my recording because i think reaper does not recognize gearbox and pod farm at all.

Example, when i use gearbox to record from reaper the effects that i used is not the actual tone coming when i play it back again.

Like when i pick heavy distorted guitar effects when recorded its like theres no effects at all when i play it again. may i know how reaper can detect

Hi, I'd like to know why I have a pretty big ASIO latency in software monitoring, around 23 ms (in cubase sx3 & reason), with the ASIO buffer setting=256 and tone direct monitoring slider at the 2nd click from the left. I'm expecting it to be around 10-12 ms like most of the USB audio sound card. What should I do to deal with this letency issue? Is my Studio UX-1 is capable to reach 10-12ms software latency?

My computer system is Intel P4 2,4 Mhz, ABIT mobo IS-7 V2 (i848 chipset = i865 w/o dual channel ddr), 1GB of RAM, 80GB HDD 7200 RPM. So far, I can get as low as 6ms latency (buffer size=256) with old ECHO MIAMIDI card (of course I don't expect USB card to reach that PCI card speed. 10-12ms is good enough for me)

I'm currently recording by using the Toneport's headphone out to my computer's mic/line in, using a 1/4" adapter for a 1/8" cable. Everyone I've spoken to says I shouldn't have to do that, and having the usb cable connect should be sufficient. I'm using the latest drivers, and use XP Pro. I've tried changing the audio preferences to Toneport, ASIO drivers, auto-detect.

So, is the only way to input your guitar to record on a computer is by using the Port's headphone out to your computer's line-in? I get a lot of signal noise. On very rare occasions, everything is fine. But I would think I should be able to record via the usb connection only.

que es lo que ocurre? bueno pues instalo los controladores la conecto y se cnfigura sin problemas pero al iniciar aa trajar con ella se desconecta de la maquina bloqueando mis puertos usb y algunas otras funciones de la laptop... intento con gearbox y pasa lo mismo grabando directamente por el software y lo mismo no logro usarla mas de 5 minutos... la eh probado con otras dos maquinas una que cuenta con procesador Pentium 4 o otra con un AMD y trabajo bien.. sera que no hay controladores correctos pra usarla en plataformas de procesadores de dos nucleos como en mi caso al tener un core 2 duo? que pasa por que no dan soporte a estos problemas... eh preguntado donde la adquiri y no saben nada... un especialista de line 6 en una empresa aqui en mexico me dice que investigara pero que pasa??? funcionara algun dia??? eh visto que muchas personas se quejan de que no funcionan sus interfaces ux2 ux8 etc etc en sus equipos y todo parece ser por el procesador de su maquina y los chipsets! espero que pronto haya alguna solucion a este problema!! line 6 me parece una buena marca, confiable y funcional pero con este tipo de problemas bajan las espectativas... espero alguien me pueda ayudar pronto.. gracias.

I've got a podfarm standalone and both gearbox standalone and vst, gearbox works nice in my DAW and standalone, but Podfarm keeps complaining that I've got no device attached in my DAW.

I am looking at a toneport UX1 on Ebay - if i were to buy it and get the license transferred over OK, would i then be able to download the Pod Farm plug in for it?

Must have Pod Farm!! Pant pant! All those amps and stomps and pres....

But not very well off right now...

I have just purchased Pod Farm vst. I have installed everything etc correctly. Cubase finds Pod Farm in the correct vst section, but it tells me that Pod Farm is not authourised and wont process any sounds..even though I can see all the amps etc right there.

Before going any further I should explain that the Studio computer that I wish to use Pod Farm on is not connected to the internet by choice, I use another computer for internet and have used it to authourise pod farm, by attaching my Pod Xt and Line Monkey etc etc.

Please correct me if Im wrong but I understand that the authorization is ON MY POD XT...and therefore should work when I take it back into my studio. Is this correct??

Please help me as I am really keen to get going

Sample Rate and Tuner Problems with UX8

Hi, i have a ux8 which is connected via spdif (In and Out) to my Emu 1820m and set to 'Clock Source: S/PDIF'. The sound from the UX8 is fine, however the Tuner is very inaccurate (approx 1.5 semitones out). This corrects its self when i set my Emu clock to 48000Hz (or when i set the UX8 as the clock source which changes my EMU to 48000Hz) which is a problem as i always use 44100Hz.

Is this because of the Driver Format being set to '48000 Hz; 32 bit' and the Tuner not reconizing the external clock rate from my EMU which is set at 44100Hz?

My default sample rate and default bit depth on the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices page (48000 Hz; 32 bit) are greyed out and unchagable. I don't want to have to go back to using analog audio cables to correct this....any ideas?

Also, is there a way yet to stop my Pod Farm VST Plugin from using my ilok as its authorisation and get it to reconize my new UX8 instead?

Line 6 UX2 Sound problems

Hello. I have been recording music practically non-stop with my trusty UX2. That is, until today. I plugged my UX2 into my USB port, and started PODfarm all up ready to toy around to find some nice effects for a riff that I'm working on, when all of the sudden, the UX2 starts farting at me. It's like a constant bubbling sound through my headphones. I don't know why, or how it's happening, but I double checked all of my connections, and it won't stop. I'm not exactly Pete Townshend with my equipment either. Also, the sound doesn't register on the vu levels on the front of the UX2, however, they do register with PODfarm. I uninstalled everything, and reinstalled all of my software, and downloaded the latest drivers, and it continues to happen for some reason. I'm not a real computer whiz, but if I have instructions, I can likely manage. Any help would me insanely appreciated. Thank you all very much. Have a nice day.

Pod Farm not working in Cubase 5 or Logic 9

Havng issue loading Pod Farm as plug in in either Cubase 5 (running ver 5.1) and Logic 9 (latest version as well). It appears that either host application does not see the attached Toneport device to authenticate. Both applications lockup with the spinning wheel. Only resolution is to disconnect the Toneport at which point the app reports that no device is attached. I have had this problem every time I update my Pod Farm software...Is there a sequence to re-authenticating the attached hardware or is there a way to migrate to Ilok? I own an Ilok, so it would actually be better for me if I could use that for authorization.

I have a one question - is there any possibility to use laptop's speakers during a recording (instead of an amp)? Because it is slightly inconvenient for me want to bring my amp every time when I want to record something...

And, am I the only one who thinks that this plastic casing is a little too weak? I think if a POD Studio costs nearly 200$ Line 6 could give some metal case...

I get this message every time I open a Project in Logic Pro 9.0.1 that uses Pod Farm Platinum plugin with a Toneport DI (used only as a dongle).

It's been happening since Logic 8.0.2 and from OS 10.4.9 thru 10.5.8.

It's happened the entire time I've had the PodFarm / Toneport DI combo

I hit play and notice all my guitar and bass sounds are dry (no podfarm sound).

So, I open one of the Podfarm plugins and this message is plastered over the plugin interface.

Also, at the bottom of the plugin interface is this:

I've searched the Forum and tried a different USB cable and every USB port (5) on my computer with nothing plugged in but keyboard and mouse...and it's still the same.

What is very interesting, is that disabling Core Audio in Logic and then re-enabling it fixes the problem every time.

This makes me think it's not a USB overload (too much USB stuff hanging out of your computer) or a faulty USB cable or USB port (I've tried them all).

Something about disabling and then re-enabling Core Audio fixes it for me.

I'm glad i have a workaround, but it is a Major Drag to have to wait for Logic to load everything twice.

Does anyone, especially LINE6, have any insight into what I'm finding with the Core Audio thing?

Hi there,

I own both the Toneport DI-Gold and the XT Llive. The XT Live doesn't have any additional model packs in it.

When using Pod Farm (or Gearbox), I'd prefer to the tone processed by the XT Live, so that my computer doesn't have to. Like a TDM would, if you will. If I have my DI-Gold connected the computer while doing using the software, is there any way for the XT Live to process tones from the extra model packs?

I also see that for $35, I can use the XT Live w/ Pod Farm without having the DI-Gold needing to be connected. Will Pod Farm allow me to access those through my XT Live (while connected to my computer)?

Following a very useful and prompt response to my last post, though I'd have another go. In using the KB37 and after reading various posts are all these statements correct:

1) PODFarm does not support footswitches or expression pedals of any kind?

2) Gearbox does, and will suppost ANY footswitches or pedals?

A somewhat trivial extension of 2 above is this: would gearbox support this device?

Ux1 and Live

I have a problem that I see alot of people are having, I've viewed everyones topic on this issue and none have helped me. I have the UX1 package which includes: POD Farm, Live, and RiffWorks. I have everything thing installed properly and updated. I have the USB plugged in right, my instrument in the instrument slot, and my amp plugged into the headphones.(I also tried it being plugged into the outputs in the back) When I had POD Farm opened by itself, the sound works great. Same in Riffworks.

When I open Live I followed the tutorial on how to setup POD Farm and Live together. I went into preferences, switched my device to ASOS UX1 everything is how its supposed to be according to the tutorial. But then It gets to the part about character mapping in POD Farm preferences which isn't in mine. So I watched a video tutorial on this site on how to do it. I set my POD Farm plug in up and it located it and I can open it up in Live. Now my issue is that it doesn't detect that im playing or making any kind of sound at all.

This is the second time I post this question, please help...

when I connect Ux2 through the usb and operate the gear box I get a pulse on the record without putting any mike or instrument you can see cubase track when I record what I see on the meters:

it looks like I have a hardware problem...

and another symptom

when I connect my tone port ux2 to my computer and activate the gear box and put earplugs in the earphones jacks on the hardwareI get Level meters at about 0 DB without any singnal put in, Icannot hear anything in the earphones as well,

it looks like a problem in the hardware - I am from Israel, I contacted Music Shop in Israel but they are not willing to help because I didn't buy the product from them

I am stucked and cannot do my recordings

what do you advice me to do???

I am migrating from an iMac to a Macbook. I previously successfully activated Pod Farm using my Pod X3 Live and was able to use Pod Farm as a plug in in Logic. However, when I installed Logic on my Macbook and connected the Pod X3 Live, I am unable to use the Pod Farm plug in. I get an error message stating that either the Pod X3 Live is not connected or it is not authorized. The Pod X3 Live is connected because I am using it as an audio interface. I ran Line 6 Monkey and reentered my license number and received a message that Pod Farm has already been activated. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I posted a thread a few weeks ago about my toneport having sudden failures. The instrument inputs all of the sudden became extremely degraded. I haven't violated anything in the warranty. My toneport has been sitting in my rack since its arrival to my door in March. I am needing to get a new one or have it repaired soon so I can get back on recording, Since it was purchased in march and I have a 1 year warranty on it I would like to know how I can redeem my warranty and have a working interface once again. Hey Line 6 Team,

I just purchased your UX1 unit as well as a CAD GXL2200 microphone so I could try recording hip hop songs at home for fun. I read through the manual and the design of the Tones looks like it will be awesome however I've run into a wall. For my recording software I wanted to utilize Magix Audio Studio, it's a 2004 edition, but it did have UX1 as an option for recording. When I'm in that program however and use UX1 there is no response from the microphone.

So I figured I'd better research through google.. found that my CAD microphone is like most, it needs at least 48v of phantom power - - does the UX1 provide sufficient power for the microphone to work? I am unable hear myself on the mic through POD farm, and am unsure of where to go from here.

Please bear with me as I am very new to this, but how do I get things going through POD farm / UX1?

Line 6 toneport UX2 interference

I just upgraded my pc to 64 bit vista, and after installing my tone port UX2 i have encountered an annoying problem.

When ever i play back audio i get "coughs" and "splutter" noises interfering with the playback. The signal is not clipping, I've disabled all the onboard sound devices and made sure it wasn't playing back at full volume incase it was clipping but come to no avail.

I've reinstalled the line 6 tone port drivers, and all my audio codecs and yet the toneport is still creating these noises on playback. I never had this problem on my old pc running Xp 32bit, and i'm using the same setup as before in the same place.

Any one got any idea's how to sort out this problem?

I am trying to think of the best way to set up a home studio but still have some power to get meaty guitar tones. I don't have the money for the amp I want right now so I was thinking of getting a small powered PA to run through the UX2 to my computer. Would this sound ok and what would be the best way to go about doing this? So I would have the amp for the PA speakers, the speakers, the Ux2 (with pod farm for my guitar amp), my guitar, and my computer. Any help would be awesome! Thanks

No Sound From Line In

Just got my Pod Farm GX today, set it all up etc etc, but there's no sound. I've checked all the levels (im running vista on my laptop), the line in port is showing that there is a signal coming through, as is Pod Farm, but there is just no sound at all. its very frustrating.

If you plug in speakers or headphones into the line out of the GX box, you get sound. I don't understand whats going wrong or what i can do to fix it. Any suggestions?

Wave sound issues (Line 6 UX2)

Hii. I bought a Line 6 POD UX2 around a month ago and I've been having issues with it that still hasn't be resolved. My problem is the wavesound- it's much lower than it should be. Trying to record something would yield something similar to this: http://i27.tinypic.com/3093591.jpg

I've had this problem since I first purchased the UX2 and I've tried to Abelton contact support about it a few times. The first time I was told to use the +18 boost switch on gearbox. That really doesn't solve the problem though, rather it just masks the issue. That lead to the next problem- with my newly bought mic. This time I couldn't use the +18 boost switch to "fix" the sound. I contacted support again, but it didn't help much, and being rather frustrated with all this I gave up.

Then a few days ago the UX2 just stopped working for me. Plugged the UX2 into the USB like usual, opened Abelton and tried to set the Audio Device under Preferences to the UX2. Said it couldn't do it, or failed or something. It was working just fine a few days before and it's been resting peacefully on top of my amp without harm since then. I noticed the orange lights weren't on, even though it was plugged in and everything was set up fine. Shook it gently a lil, unplugged, replugged, no luck.

However I then tried plugging it in a different USB slot than what it was usually plugged into. The computer then recognized this as a new hardware... because it's a different USB slot I suppose. I then went through the usual process as to recognize the hardware just as I did when I first bought the UX2 and restarted the computer.

I should also mention that during this time I noticed the red lights were blinking between one after another, near the 2 screens. Thought this was a good sign because it showed that the UX2 didn't just die randomly.

After my computer rebooted I noticed the lights on the screen glowed orange like usual again. Good sign. I open Abelton and the guitar isn't working. Everything is plugged and set up correctly. During this time I'm pretty confused because everything was set up as before when it did 'work' and the orange lights are working. I unplug, replug the cable on the guitar and suddenly it worked. I don't know what's up with that, I'm super positive all cables were plugged in and all that smazz. I did not do any changes to the settings or similar.

Now it's working, and it's working like it should! No wavesound issues, no need to use that +18 boost switch and all that. The wavesound fequences are all nice and big, and everything is spiffy. Seriously, I don't get it, I didn't do anything.

I noticed my mic slot wasn't working though. Later I found out that under the Preferences > Hardware Setup > Inputs and Recording -> then selecting the "Instruments and Mic" option. That fixed it. Again, the wavesounds for the mic is perfect. Happy, I exit Abelton and go to sleep.

I wake up next morning, plug the USB into the computer as usual. Orange lights, good; working. I then discover that the wavesounds aren't working again. Yea, it's like before like the picture I showed you. http://i27.tinypic.com/3093591.jpg

I tried plugging it in one USB slot, the other USB slot. Anything. It's not working anymore.

I don't understand it was working the day before all nice, which no changes to anything and it's not working anymore. I don't understand. So if you can offer me help, that would be very appreciated. Sorry this message is really long, but hopefully you can see my frusteration with all this.. that's why I'm typing all this.

I've got a macbook pro with Logic Pro 8 on it.

I've installed Pod Farm and all latest drivers: (Line 6 Monkey Update says:)

In the Optional Add-Ons tab of Line 6 Monkey

FX Junkie and POD Farm are Marked with a 'v'.

My UX2 is activated and recognized and in Logic Pro 8 I can hear the computer sound through the UX2 with a headphone.

The Audio Device (Core Audio) in Logic is enabled and the UX2 Device is selected.

The standalone POD Farm software works with my guitar. I can see a signal and I hear my sound with all the Amps/Effects available.

THE PROBLEM:

I want to use my UX2 as a plug-in for Logic. (3 questions)

Do I have to pick 'New software instrument track' or 'New audio track'?
When I pick one I select the plug-in as an insert. Is that correct?

When I do I can see the plug-in (I get the pop-up screen with all the amps and effects etc.). But I don't get a signal from my guitar.

So the standalone version works but the plug-in doesn't get the signal from my guitar.

What can I do?????

Is my Toneport UX2 broken?

I have a Line 6 Toneport UX2 recording interface. I've had it now for almost 2 years and haven't had a single problem until now.

My volume is gone. I have to tune the volume up 100% and I barely hear any output, and the output sounds like it's mono and not stereo (though the headphone jack this is). I've tested the analog outs and nothing, gearbox volume plays low, and windows volume is turned up 100%. The Toneport is set as my primary audio driver and I've even uninstalled and re-installed the drivers.

I work on computers every day so I know pretty much everything about basic troubleshooting for a device. I've even popped up the Toneport's driver settings window and everything is set correctly. What is wrong? Is my Toneport finally broken? Note, I used it ALOT. Almost everyday, even for watching movies as my PC's headphone jack is broken. Recording songs, mixing, watching shows and movies on the PC, you name it, this device worked with it!

Note, I've installed Windows 7 recently, but I highly, HIGHLY doubt this has anything to do with it. It was working fine for several weeks up until now, so I don't want to here Windows haters automatically telling me it's Windows 7 doing it. It is NOT Windows 7. In fact, I finished a few songs recently using it under Windows 7 and nothing went wrong. I believe the hardware is fried; something is loose or broken inside the device.

OK, I dont know if this goes here or where, but I'm extremely angry with my UX2 and my laptop so I need any solutions from you officially cause I've tried EVERYTHING and I don't get more than problems...

I bought a UX2 studio pod and tested it in my HP laptop. It worked with a lot of noise, and I found here that it was a USB port problem, so I bought a USB hub and tested it and... voila! it worked! finally, I was gonna be HAPPY with me HP and play guitar in a happy way but NO! a day, without warning, it stopped working, magicly, without a reason, when I connect the UX2 to the hub and the laptop, it works fine, without noise, but spent a little time, like 20~25 secs, it suddenly dies, the sound stop and I have to disco and connect then again, so I can't record or play in a proper way

I taked another USB hub to see if the problem was it got broken, but no, it happened the same, and the thing it bothers me is that if before worked, why the **** doesnt work now? I tested it all, the USB hub and the UX2 directly with another PC and it worked fine, so the items arent broken, and another things that is really weird is that if I connect the UX2 to the laptop directly, without the USB hub, it works fine, it doesnt get suddenly cut, but I have that noise problem with the HP's usb ports...

If the USB hub is not broken cause I have two and I tested before with the one that worked the firsts days, and then with another one unused, and they work fine in a PC, why does it get stopped at the 20 secs magicly??

I know my english is not a native speech but I'm from spain and I can't get any proffesional work in my language here so the only ones that can help me are you guys.

I am sure it something blindingly obvious, but the headphone out on my toneport only seems to be giving a mono signal, even when I punch in a pingpong or stereo delay. Otherwise, seems to be working fine. Definitely not my headphones - i bought a brand new pair to check. Any thoughts?

I just bought a POD Studio UX2. I'm connecting it via USB and for my monitoring im using a 1/4 inch Y splitter to a 1/8 inch adaptor into the line in on my sound card. The problem i'm having is im only getting audio playback through one speaker. I get mp3 playback through both speakers, also the balance is set directly in the middle so it's not set to go to just the left side (the side that i am getting audio through). Any idea on how to correct this? I've tried connecting my computer speakers directly to the analog outs but it just sounded worse even with changing my sound card to be as the UX2. I have a yamaha APX900 electro-acoustic guitar with a built in pre-amp/controls. I believe it has multiple piezoelectric pickups (not 100% certain).

For all I want the GX seems ideal, I have no need for the extra inputs/outputs of the UX2. But looking at the UX2 it has a normal input and a pad input. From the manual :-

Pad Input - This input is designed for high output level basses and guitars, especially those with active pickups.

So my question is thus:-

Will I need a PAD input for my electro-acoustic guitar? Or can get away with using the normal input on the GX? (at half the price )

Anyone had any experiance with an electro-acoustic and the GX?

Any advice appreciated, cheers!

Toneport UX2 Help

I bought a UX2 last year and when I first got it it was doing static crap and drop outs. After searchnig the internet and forums and whatnot I got my computer all "optimized" for recording and such and got rid of those problems for the most part if not completely.

Two Sundays ago I come home with an itch to record this song. I turn all my crap on which I haven't messed with for a week or two and boom my drop out and static problem is back.

I have updated my driver to the newest possible (did it that day and did it again today because there was an even newer version)

Have turned off a bunch of things that would auto-start down to the essentials on my computer.

Ran a disk defrag and check disk.

Discovered Line 6 monkey checks your compatibility and I am definitely set there, only it says I don't have it in DMA but I checked the properties and whatnot and it says use DMA if available and one forum post said that shouldn't affect me if its like that or something...

Again I had set up my computer according to the internet so possibly above and beyond what line 6 and the forum had suggested. Visual for best performance. Setting buffer size and all that.

The only thing running over in my system tray is the display for my wireless and wired internet, my volume control, and my safely remove hardware button.

I had the wifi card turned off and was not connected to the internet while playing.

It is having this problem with just gearbox running, so even without my DAW going, whereas before it was recording just fine.

I am running windows XP and should be on the latest service pack and pretty much up to date.

No other programs were running...

Also when I was talking about my problem a friend said maybe I needed more RAM but it says I need 512mb and that I have 2944mb available.

PC: High spec Dell XPS, 4 GB RAM, Quad Core CPU, Creative SB X-Fi

Hope someone can help here. My Gearbox / Toneport GX setup has been working perfectly until I updated the drivers using Line Monkey to the latest versions. All of a sudden I'm being hit with loud bursts of noise... which was extremeley painful the first time it happened!

I've followed all of the recommendations re: the "noise," searches on the Support forums / FAQs / Video Tutorial links - all to no avail. I've tried adjusting for latency (slider), I've tweaked Windows Vista etc etc - nothing. I've swapped out the USB lead, I've reinstalled everything relating to Line6.

Is it possible to obtain the driver version prior to v3.4.3.8? Symptomatically, I am sure that it is the driver update that's caused all of this. I can't imaging that my system has suddenly decided to have a problem since last night - when I was recording perfectly - and that the drivers update has nothing to do with it. No way. I updated the driver and BANG! These loud bursts of noise start happening.

Please advise on how / where the previous drivers can be obtained.

POD UX2 Studio and Cakewalk MusicCreator3

I just got POD UX2 studio and love it...

But I am having problems trying to get it to work with Cakewalk Music Creator 3

right now I am running out of the headphone output into my 1/8" mic input into my computer soundcard...

when I arm the track and hit record...cakewalk does record the signal to the track...and sounds great on playback...

problem is...I cannot hear my guitar/vocals as I am recording the track...is there something Im not doing right?

Is my only option to hook up a seperate set of speakers out of the ux2 so I can hear what I am recording??? I just

dont understand why cakewalk records the awesome tones from the ux2 and sounds great on playback...but I cannot hear the ux2 as I record the tracks...

Any help is appreciated!!!

Hey Line 6 people,

We are still wondering how long it's gonna take you to realize that there is an awful lot people out there, who are using high end audio interfaces and would like to be able to play + record while monitoring through Pod Farm Platinum, and not be FORCED to go through your hardware;

See Waves GTR 3.5, IK Multimedia AmpliTube X-Gear (AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Fender, Metal...), Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3.

Because of the above limitation, I am not using Pod Farm Platinum anymore - how sad is that? You can fix it and I know so.

I have seen a lot of people requesting this. Just be considerate, you are doing a lot of stuff for the Live scene, don't forget the studios.

The iLok was a great move, but again, keep going guys - give us what WE NEED + WANT - not what YOU thing is best.

We want to be able to use Pod Farm with third party sound cards aka audio interfaces. Why are you *RESTRICTING/CRIPPLING* us?

And how come Waves, IK Multimedia and Native Instruments got this RIGHT, and not you?

Those companies are also selling hardware, yet they don't force customers to use it, they offer far more flexibility and freedom.

PS: On a side note, you have been sending me offers for the past two years, for all those packs that I have already bought ages ago...

Can't you fix this and make sure that you don't keep SPAMMING customers who bought the same products two years ago?

No MIDI inputs in SONAR 8

Just setting up my new KB37. In Sonar 8, however, I don't have any MIDI in (or out) - options, MIDI Devices... nothing is listed. I can't set up the transport controls either (since there is no MIDI port listed).

I'm running 32bit Sonar on Vista x64. Latest drivers for KB37 and latest POD farm and monkey. All up to date.

i know that you won't or can't tell me to try this, but is it possible to make a footswitch with a push on/push off switch, a 1/4" mono guitar connector, and a 1/4" guitar cable? i am going to buy this today would like to know if i have to order a footswitch as well.

pod studio ux1 not sound

Hi I bought a POD Studio UX1 and I have installed all. My problem is that: I have not any sound but I can visualize the volume level is ok on POD Farm when I play the guitar. I configured POD Studio like the sound hardware pre-determinated.

I attached an image. Maybe is a problem about ASIO? I don´t know....please help me.

Line 6 Toneport UX2 Stoped Working. AGAIN! "Not a Happy Customer"

Ok, Lets just start off with me saying "I'm not happy with your products at all". I had the Line 6 Toneport UX2 stopped working after 2 months. Tried to get in contact with you and they kept telling me to do this delete drivers and reinstall. They said that should work. Never worked. 5 months goes by keep getting the same awnser. I finally ask for them to replace my gear and they said it has been past three months. In addition, after trying to get a new one or for them to replace the UX2 I bought the newer one which is the POD UX2. I have had it less then a week, got home and went to go play the guitar and "No" sound. I am having the same problem with this one as I did the other one. I am very mad right now as I have put out over $ 360 dollars and still have no working item. Now I have two broken ones and I am not happy. I would like this to go to the head person and get back in contact with me. I have a reciept for the POD UX2 which is the one that I have had for less then 2 weeks and the other one I have lost. This is very frustrating and I think I deserve and explanation. My contact information is as follows.

No way to rename a preset, or Save As... to a new name?

Incredibly, there appears to be no way to save a modified Pod Farm preset to a new preset - the Save As... lets you change all fields except the name. Likewise, it doesn't appear possible to rename a preset, once created. The only work-around to the second issue is to rename it in the Finder (I'm on Mac). I know no workaround for the first, which is really crazy. Say you start with your favorite tone, but then change it somehow, and it's equally delicious. Too bad. You either lose the new one, or lose the old one. You can't even make like the Pod hardware and sacrifice another preset, and rename it in the Finder later (which would be a hassle, but at least you wouldn't lose your work).

Or am I completely overlooking something?

Assuming I'm right (and I'd love to be wrong here), pray tell when this shortcoming will be fixed?

I have the same iLok / PODxt that you have helped some user's with. The issue is that the I don't have access to the model packs on my POD Farm authorized PODxt because I also authorized my needed iLok - the iLok takes precedence. Could you please send me a resolution or open a ticket for me?

Pod Farm Plug-In Not Working

I recently purchased the Pod Farm Plug-in to use with my Toneport UX2 within Apple Garageband and Logic Pro. However, when I try to access the Pod Farm plug-in within either application, I get a "No Authorized Device: a required device is either not authorized or not connected..." dialog box. Then Pod Farm comes up but it does not function.

The stand-alone version of Pod Farm does work with my UX2, and I have confirmed via Line 6 Monkey that all updates are installed and the UX2 is registered and authorized.

However, I still can't get the Plug-in to work.

I had to swap out my motherboard on my PC. Now, when I launch Gearbox, I am getting error whenever I try to open a previously downloaded file, or any new ones. I can log onto GuitarPort Online just fine. I can check the status of my account, and it says it is active.

In searching through the support forums, this is looking like a common issue.

Can you please fix this?

The Pod Farm info says it is compatible with Pod xt Live, does that mean Bass Pod xt Live as well? Can the software be used as a stand alone vst with my DAW?
