HI,

My Backtrack + Mic is not capturing my tracks when i have it connected between my FX board and my amp when using a distorted sound. It works okay on clean sound.

I have tried changing the settings to Noisy guitart and loud but still not working. Can anyone help?

Can not down load music files to CPU (marked or unmarked) ?

Hi guys,

Got my Backtrack few days ago, brill! Windows media player wont play recorded material either directly from the unit or downloaded to the player it's self. It says its playing it but it just freezes. Play back on the BackTrack unit works fine just not with the computer.

Backtrack Flashes Blue - but won't capture.

I recorded one band rehearsal with forced capture and then transfered the files to my IMAC and deleted them from the backtrack. It will only flash blue now and won't capture at all.

I saw a thread about hidden files that may be telling the unit it is still full? It seems everyone in that thread in May had to send their units back.

Do I need to send this back or is there now a fix?

Please advise what I need to do, as the unit does nothing now...

Trouble detecting the start of a song...

My BT+M has trouble detecting the beginning of the songs when we record the band ... files start way into the song ... counting. stick clicking not detected... Should I just use a Force record to get Everything???

Does anyone from Line 6 technical support look at the questions on this Thread concerning BackTrack audio files? I don't see any replies from Line 6 here..and I have a ticket that is still blank concerning the issues around why Backtrack files have no volume, why the auto-record function barely works with guitar input, and how you would use a pre-amp or an amp as an input to the Backtrack with no idea what the proper volume/gain setting should be.

Does Line 6 Technical support exist?

when i record with the backtrack and put the files on my computer...i can't hear the distortion that i recorded the 'riffs' with....it's a clean guitar sound. my guitar goes into the input of the backtrack and the output to the amp. i can hear it on playback when plugged into the amp, but not in the computer. is this standard?

I have a Backtrack + Mic and am looking for the optimal settings for it during a band rehearsal. I've seen some good posts but want some other opinions. Mine is currently set as such:

Sample Rate: 32000Hz(what the fffff does that even mean, but is this okay?)

Bit Depth: 16 bit( see above, no clue about this stuff....)

Presets: on custom values( is this fine?)

Auto Capture: Loud (makes sense and seems to work fine...)

Gain: 4( good?)

AGC: off (what the fffff)

I am also looking for editing software. I'd like to cut out some intros to marked songs as it's just band chatter and tuning,etc. What else can you do with these WAV files after a "song" has been recorded? Can you soop it up or add outside instruments?! Again, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Problem w/Backtrack

My Backtrack was cycling through all of the flashing colors. Based upon advice I found on the message board, I tried resetting and now the unit shows no lights at all. When I connect to my PC, the device is seen but the PC prompts me to install a driver. Needless to say, it isn't recording, either. Help!

Technical issue with BackTrack audio Files

Well after some annoying fiddling with the BackTrack and a conversation with a Line 6 tech I got it figured out.

The big issue with the BackTrack is that it purports to create files from a guitar input that you can use in a computer mixing program like GarageBand, iTunes, or QuickTime but IT AIN'T SO. In the accompanying manual it says: "Make copies of the files on your computer to build up a library of inspiration, burn them to CD, or convert them to MP3 to share with your fans or collaborators. You can play them with your favorite audio software, and even load them into your recording software as a foundation for fuller recording your ideas."

The files it creates directly from a guitar input sound great played back through your amp but when you open them in GarageBand or anything else like iTunes or QuickTime there is NO volume at all on them which makes sense when you realize they are just being created from the guitar pickups with no gain applied. The BackTrack HAS NO GAIN control. So you have to hook the guitar into the amp, take the headphone/record output of the amp to the input of the BackTrack and stick your headphones in the Out of the BackTrack..then you can adjust the volume of the recording on the BackTrack. So basically the thing requires a pre-amp to get decent levels - which is what using the amp is doing.
Then you can download that file to your computer, check to see if the volume of the amp is correct. THEN you can start using the BackTrack as a "spontanious auto-capture" device.

Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you this. It also means you can't hear what your doing except through headphones unless you have an amp with line out and headphone out. This is all very deceptive in the promotion of this device. In order to use it as a capture device for use with a computer you have to have a pre-amp, you have to set it up with headphones, and you have to mess around with your computer program to get the levels correct BEFORE you use the BackTrack. In reality its only spontanious function is the auto-record function..which btw works best with the input coming from the amp, not the guitar because the guitar signal is just from the pickups and often won't trigger the auto-record function even it you have it set to "soft".

So Line 6 - either tell us this in the manual and in the promotion material or put a gain control on the unit and let users give back the ones we bought thinking this was the solution to getting "inspirational" pieces directly to the mixing program.

The BT Pilot Guide says to click "SHOW FILES" to show the BT directories/folders in Windows Explorer

WHERE IS THE SHOW FILES OPTION?

WILL THIS ALLOW ME ACCESS TO THE BT UTILITY SETUP ?

Installed the Backtrack on to my Laptop ok and was able to transfer files from BT ro PC - however - I am not getting a Utility Setup option (as shown in the Pilot Manual ) to enable me to change the settings of the BT itself.

The Pilto Manual shows a SETUP screen split into 4 allowing setip adjustments to be made.

What should I do or be doing ???

my backtrack + mic is not detected in OS X 10.6.1. do you have any software or patch to fix this? When i try and launch the setup utility manually, i get the message that No Backtrack Detected! I have been using it to record band practices. All of a sudden it isn't capturing any files. I tried reloading default settings and played with all possible combinations. Now I am noticing that I can't even force record or mark events. And I just turned off the device and the blue light is still flashing. I plugged in my earphones and hear sound, but also popping and crackling when ever the clip on the back moves.

I think this baby is busted. Help! And, no, I did NOT drop it, although I was tempted to throw it against the wall!

NEVERMIND! I got an RMA and am returning this fragile little thing. Wow! Didn't even last 90 days!

I have a problem getting my backtrack to connect to my computer. I plug in to my USB port, the unit shows on my removable drive list for a second, and then dissappears. It does not show up after this, and no loghts are showing on the backtrack unit itself at this point. Help!!!!!!

I have gone back to a restore point that the backtrack unit was working on before, but now it won't connect. any ideas?

I play my guitar - a tune in A. I'm recording it with backtrack. I mark it when I'm finished.

I go to my computer and load up Cubase SE. I plug in the backtrack to the computer. Move the file I just created, that is - drag & drop in into Cubase SE.

I now play back that file in Cubase SE but it is now a tune somewhere between C & B. Simply put My Guitar is in CONCERT tuning so to play along with it ( the file from backtract which is now in Cubase) I would have to re tune my guitar or use the pitch shifter in Cubase. NOT optimum. Is there a fix for this?

Back Track frozen

My back track /mic has frozen up with light blinking four colors, even with unit set to off, I have reset the unit through the small recset "pin" hole several times, the unit starts the same blinking and unresponsiveness after the reset.

Backtrack troubles

I recently treated myself to the Backtrack(+mic), and after demoing the mic to myself, I plugged into my computer and opened up Audacity.

My plan was to pan one recording slightly to one side, and the other to the opposite side. When I played the two back (both in Audacity and later in iTunes), only one track played, and that track was panned fully to the left-hand side.

My questions are:

1) Is this normal?

2) How can I put together a project from my Backtrack(+mic) recordings?

I'm running on a Macbook Pro in Mac OS 10.5.8, if that makes any difference.

Backtrack wont auto record

My backtrack will only record when I force it to (red light record)

Otherwise the blue light flashes no matter what.

There is also a loud pop at the begining of playback. (happens when I power off the backtrack without shutting my amp off first)

I wish my twin reverb was running (It has a standby switch)

I tried adjusting the sensitvity with the setup utility with no luck.

I have tried the hard reset but the paperclip can't find a button when I push it into the small hole (it just drops straight through into something soft). Is my Backtrack broken?

Please can you clarify the procedure for Forced Capture using the MIC

While holding "PLAY" I press ""MARK"

Instead of the red light all I get is the "blinking blue" light indicating Audio Capture.

Also when I try to Force Capture with the Guitar connected to the IN jack and the OUT jack connected to the amp again all I get is Audio Capture.

Please can you sort this out as Forced Capture is the only reason I bought the BT

I just bought the Backtrack and it works great, but my windows computer won't let me open these two files. They are BIN files so windows doesn't know what program to open it with. I have a BackTrack that wont seem to record, I have read posts here, and I've tried resetting with a paper clip, and on the utilities, changing gain settings, etc..

nothing seems to work.

I have a mac which I've read may cause some issues with it. The recorder has worked flawlessly for the past 3 months but now it seems like

its memory is full or something but the Marked & Unmarked files show nothing in them. Any help out there?

Stereo Files in USER folder freeze playback

According to the manual, I should be able to copy 16bit/44KHz stereo WAV files to the USER folder from the computer (over USB) and play them back on the BackTrack+Mic.

However, after I copy over such a file to this folder and remove (eject) from the computer/USB port, the playback/rewind.forward all freeze when I try to play back any track already on the unit.

Apart from this problem, everything else works OK.

Does anyone have a solution or advice for this problem ?

Hi,

I have a BackTrack+mic and my pc with with WinXP does not recognise my usb device (Backtrack) I downloaded the software from your site to see if that would help but it did not. The BT is blinking green-green-red-green-red I believe. It does not shut off. It was working fine for a while when using it today. It recognized it when I first hooked it up to my pc earlier but then the pc started bleeping the usb port on and off several times. I am not sure if it is charging. Can you help me with this problem?

BackTrack + Mic Won't Power Up

I saw a few similiar issues on the forum... I just pulled my BackTract from the box and powered it up. It had a bright bluish-white light that never changed; just stayed on constantly. Plugged into my PC's USB port and it didn't recognize it. I used a paper clip to reset the unit and the light went out and never came back on. I downloaded the utility from the Line6 website but it doesn't see the unit. Looks like I'm screwed for the moment. I'm using Windows XP SP2. Any suggestions?

Backtrack with mic purchased end of Feb.

The main problem is as follows:

Straight out of box connected it to my main winxp pc, windows detects it, begins installing, a drive appears with yellow exclamation mark, then windows says there was a problem installing, drive icon vanishes.
Reconnect the backtrack - white light 10 seconds, flicker green, back to white 1 second then off. This time windows doesn't go through any of the detection and still no drive. Stuck in this situation.
If I connect to a different USB port it'll do the first routine of detection and fail, from there on that port then just does the ignoring completely.

This PC also has a second installation of winxp with very little software installed so I booted to that and tried again, same problem.

Tried other computers:

A friends winxp laptop and it worked, so I got by for a while until one day the laptop did the routine above so game over there.
Another 2 friends xp desktops and failed straight away.
A couple of vista laptops, one worked for a couple of goes then failed.
Another quite old xp desktop kept me going for a month or so but that's now not detecting.
What about Macs........nope, tried a couple of recent models that failed straight off, an old G4 worked once to get some files off and then failed.

What else:

Done the hard resetting with paper clip a fair few times.
Usually using USB ports direct to mainboard, tried different cable.
Obviously with no drive detection the setup software doesn't detect the backtrack either, that software has worked when I've found a connecting computer though.
Left it connected for a long time, it just sits there lights off. Not sure if it charges.
Connect to a USB mains charger - same pattern of white 10 seconds, flicker green, white for a second then off.

Generally it's recording fine by itself though but I've run out of computers to get files off now. Has only once recorded a load of corrupted sound when it was put into permanent record mode rather than the normal silence detecting track marking mode.

Hope there's some help out there.

I bought it last month. As soon as I charged it, the blue light continued to flash, even when it was unplugged, turned off and their was nothing in the input. Now, when I turn it on, it's dead (no light, no function). If I hook it up to a USB port, the blue light comes on for about 30 seconds, then it goes green. When I unplug the USB, it flashes purple, goes green for a second, turns blue for thess seconds, then goes out. I have done a hard reset, no joy. I think I need a replacement unit.

After working pretty well for a few weeks, my Backtrack + Mic has simply stopped capturing in either Forced or Auto capture mode. I get the blinking blue light, but after that nothing. I've done a hard reset using the paper clip multiple times; I've modified the settings in a variety of ways, including returning to the default settings. I'm just getting nothing. I've only had this thing for a few weeks. Is it already toasted? Any suggestions?

BackTrack+Mic freezes on forced capture

Howdy

I've been using my BackTrack+Mic at rehearsals to record new tunes and at the last few rehearsals I've used the forced capture function. Quite a few times the LED has gone red when forced capture has started, but then when I press 'mark' to end the capture, nothing happens... no button-pressing of any combination has any effect - the LED stays red. Even when I turn the BackTrack off, the LED stays red until the battery dies.

Has anyone had their BackTrack freeze up like this? More importantly, does anyone know how to stop it happening?

I just got a BackTrack today and am putting it to the test. I used my BackTrack to record bass guitar using the mic and directly in. Both files when played back are quiet. I tried adjusting the mic gain and that helped out a little on the track I used with the mic, but it was clipping. It still didn't play back through my computer as loud as I wanted it to. What can I do to increase the playback volume?

Problem with Back Track

Hi folks!

I just bought Back Track and i love it... Alltough I noticed something wierd, could someone please tell me if this is normal:

I chose my settings in a way that it won't record phrases that are shorter than 2 seconds. This does indeed work, the blue light goes on but not the white light! Now let's say I accidently hit the E string before i want to record e riff. The light will light up blue, but not white. Which is ok I wait some seconds, till the blue light is flashing again. But when I then start recording my riff, it will unfortunatley included the open E string in the begining of the riff-recording... Is that the way it should be???

BackTrack Setup Utility not working

I just pulled the BackTrack out of the box, and tried to setup the device's time using the Setup Utility. The installation completed fine, but it will not allow me to run the program. I am running Windows Vista, and have installed the software as administrator, run the program as administrator, downloaded the version from the Line 6 support site and tried that as well. None of these scenarios works. Is there an incompatibility with Windows Vista? The error I get is that "BackTrack Setup Utility has stopped working." Any help is appreciated.

Just used the backtrack for the first time. I hooked it up to charge via the usb, and within about 3 minutes, it was fully green, supposedly indicating a fully charged unit. If it was completely dead, isn't 3 minutes to completely recharge and indication that the battery is KAPUT?

I recorded several takes - one marked and two unmarked - and when I plug headphones into the Bactrack + mic I can hear what I played just fine. But then I connected the unit to my computer and dragged the files to my desktop, removed the Backtrack, then clicked on the individual files to play ... Windows Media Player opened and showed the usual visual patterns along with the time of the recording as it was playing, but no sound is happening. I am having a problem with my new BackTrack + Mic. After I record a segment of guitar playing and mark it, when I plug it into my PC and play the segment wave file, it plays back part of the segment through I-Tunes but then is cut short and bleeds into "Hello" by Lionel Richie...very annoying, and I have no idea why...what's the fix?

Hi Guys,

I have found that once I used backtrack + mic for the first time on a certain usb hub on my computer it cannot be recognized on any other hub.Reset does not change anything and cable is good because it works fine on the one hub,the other hubs have devices pluggede into them and work fine and the backtrack + mic will charge up on the other hubs it just is not recognized by windows vista or the backtrack setup program unless I plug it into the original usb hub I first used it on.Isn't this the same problem they had with the pod xt? Well I tried everything I know and cannot get it to work on any other usb hub.Any ideas anyone??

I've noticed a a few threads about the setup utility.

This may be of use. After I installed my Backtrack, I could not see the window as on page 11 of the Pilot's Guide but it was because I was looking in the wrong place! It had been installed ok, but to see it, I had to do this:

Click on START then ALL PROGRAMS and there it is. Just scroll down to Line6.

If you can't see it, type Line6 in the SEARCH box

Hi there!

I want to put my BackTrack between my amp (Peavey ValveKing 212) and the speaker, so the setup would look like this: Guitar -> Amp -> BackTrack -> Speakers. It's a 16 Ohms speaker and a 100 Watts amp. kann the BackTrack handle this or is it not a good idea?

Just thought about recording the output of the amp without recording everything that happens around through the mic.

I want to purchase a Backtrack(without mic) but cannot find an important piece of information about it. I want to record solo tracks of my Tele Custom guitar played through a Roland JC90. Hi Guys,

I have read that other mates had the same problem but somehow they have managed to resolve it.

When I connect my BackTrack + mic to the USB of my Hp Pavillion and also my work's Dell laptop, it is charging but PC does not recognise it and I cannot run the utility. Keep getting a message

" BackTrack not found. Please ensure the BackTrack is plugged in and mounted".

Please have in mind that I have manually downloaded and installed Utility, since nothing happened when I connected BT to my Laptop.

I have input a pin in the little hole, several times but nothing happened.

Any idea? i can record but only listen to the music through BT with headphones. It's a great gadget but please please plaese some help...

Hello Line6 Community and representatives:

I ran into a problem with my BackTrack+Mic yesterday.

I used it to record a guitar recital (using the mic) and forced continuous recording (hold PLAY, press MARK).

At the end of the recital, when I went to end the recording, the indicator was red, as it had been through the evening. When I attempted to end the recording the unit apparently did not respond properly, and is now flashing a colorful pattern, which only stopped when the battery was exhausted. No button press or combination of button presses will cause this pattern to stop (all controls unresponsive). If I connect to my computer with the USB cable, and attempt to connect via the software, it reminds me to connect the unit.

I checked the FAQ, and found how to do a hard reset, which was claimed to resolve a problem like this, but it did not.

The pattern is as follows:

Rapid flashing: Purple

(3) slow White flashes

(2) slow Red flash

Green flash

Blue flash

Red flash

Then there is a pause, then the pattern repeats.

Anyone seen this problem? Anyone fixed this problem?

I am getting frustrated. When I first got the BT+mic, it worked great for 2 months. I recorded off my guitar and also used it in mic mode to record rehearsals and gigs. Then, it suddenly stopped recording. I got a replacement and it worked just fine for one month. Then it stopped recording. Now, I am on my 3rd and it worked great for one week, then recorded only some songs. I tried adjusting the settings and it recorded zippo at last night's practice!

What are the optimal settings for this thing to use in mic mode when recording a loud rehearsal or a gig? Or, am I just a sucker for a bad piece of hardware that I can't get my money back for?

I need some help here guys!

Okay:

From the "On/Play Only Off" button I turn it to ON. The white light comes on and eventually becomes a blinking blue light. I then start playing my guitar for 60 seconds. Hello dudes, im looking to buy the BackTrack + Mic as it seems like the perfect product for my purposes, but i have a few questions and would be very grateful for some honest answers

The BackTrack can obviously be used as a basic loop pedal so i can jam some tasty riffs over some previously recorded chord progressions etc, and its also perfect for me because of its easy computer interface abilities so i can easily use Cubase for after effects. However my main concern is that i was wondering whether or not im able to use it as a basic pick up for my acoustic and classical guitars? What i mean by this is; can i use the BackTrack's microphone as a rudimentary pick up device so i can 'amp up' my acoustic guitars for instant playback through my amp?

Ok, I have a classical guitar, it does have a built in pickup but it is not a battery powered one. My backtrack recordings are too quiet. Another side effect of the quietness is that it breaks up my songs (which have quiet spots in them) into multiple files. The third side effect is that each file is missing a few notes in their beginnings because of the automatic startup nature of the Backtrack, makes it wake up just a second later.

I think this is a cool product. By far the best feature to me is the portability factor. So, how can I boost the sound without complicating the setup (e.g. carrying some kind of portable preamp??)

The circular screen that protects the microphone rattles. Due to it's close proximity to the mic, even the slightest touch will cause the rattling to be captured on the recording.

I am just wondering, should i buy the standard BackTrack without the internal mic, and just plug in an external microphone to record the whole band at the same time??

Should i buy the BackTrack + Mic.. I ask this because i bought a similar device from another company and the internal mic and it wasnt very good at all. So is external Mic the way to go??

I am just adding my problem to the list of similar complaints with the BackTrack + Mic. I am only posting this message as a question as an "alert to Line 6 tech support."

I followed all the instructions and read enough of the forum discussions that there is no need to offer any suggestions.

My BackTrack + Mic is set for "Soft" but only captures my electric guitar when the volume is very high, way louder than I normally play, and definitely too loud for the volume I generally practice at. I have the current firmware and have re-set the device several times. I tried all other options with the device. Nothing works. Tomorrow is my last day to return to it Guitar Center, and it is going back as defective.

The only way I can get it to work is doing a "hard capture," and only then can I appreciate what the BackTrack is supposed to do. I will probably try a second one, but Line 6 should probably recall these until they are working properly. There are way too many complaints about this issue, as far as I'm concerned.

Instead of capturing my ideas "on the fly" for the past 30 days, I have wasted much of my practice time trying to get the device to work properly. This has resulted in my NOT recording ideas and guitar licks, which is why I purchased the BackTrack. Doing a hard capture is functionally no different than pressing the record button on a digital recorder I have. The benefit I see in having a device like the BackTrack recorder is primarily in NOT having to do this. Harmony-Central and Musicians Friend positive user reviews aside, I am very disappointed with this product.

This backtrack+mic doesn't power up unless it's plugged in to the usb cable. I've already done the reset thing w/a paperclip, and it's a good thing I did, b/c it didn't work at all before that. Now, the lights indicate that the unit is fully charged, but when I unplug it from the usb cable with the switch in the off position, then turn it on, there's nothing. BUT, when I unplug the unit from the usb cable with the unit turned on, it works. Like I said, I reset the unit, and have tried other usb cables. It's not the cable. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand BackTrack is primarily used for guitar recording, but I would like to initially use it to capture voice via microphone or singing. Can I plug in a microphone into the BackTrack device then output this sound into the house speakers. We are at a school that has no way to tap into the mixer which outputs sound to the speaker. The radio, cd player and tape desk are all hardwired for output. If backtrack is not a viable solution to what I trying to do, do you have any prodcuts that might accomodate.

Here is the issue - When you use a guitar for the input to the BackTrack (a -10db input) the BackTrack creates a digital file. When you put that digital file into your computer - using Garageband, iTunes, Quicktime or whatever - the volume is too low to be usuable for anything..including just playing it back.

The only way to get the volume level up is to put the instrument through an amp and take the line out of the amp to the BackTrack which you are correct about "Your Line Out is most likely Line level so it would be feeding the BackTrack a +4dB signal. The input on the BT expects an instrument level which is -10dB. It will work but you need to mind the level your feeding the BT from the Roland as to not clip the input on the BT." Most amps use the headphone output for the line out so you can no longer hear the amp. You then have to put headphones in the output of the BT to hear what you are doing.

In order to adjust the volume, you have to record something, download it to the computer, see if the level is correct, and then record it again if its wrong. This defeats the whole idea of using the BackTrack for a spontanious recording.

The guitar input signal (-10db) is often too low to trigger the auto-record function even when you set the auto-capture to "soft". If you do get it to work it will cut out if you play softly or hesitate at all while playing. When you record using an amp as the input the autorecord function works better.

There is no control in the BackTrack Utility for raising the volume of the input - there are only the controls for the auto-record sensitivity "soft" "medium" 'loud" but this has nothing to do with the volume of the recording.

A lot of people on this thread seem to be having problems with this. I have used Strats, LPs, Gretschs, Danelectros, Godins, Ibanez, and put the guitar volumes to the max and nothing will make a usuable sound level on a BT .wav file.

The manual for the BT says very emphatically:

Make copies of the files on your computer to build up a library of inspiration, burn them to CD, convert them to MP3 to share them with your fans and collaborators. You can play them in your favorite audio software, and even load them into your recording software as a foundation for fuller recording of your ideas.

Nowhere does it tell you that the volume of the files created from your guitar are useless for any of these activities. And nowhere does it tell you how to work with that situation.

The only other way to raise the volume of these files is with something like "Audacity", a free audio software package that has an "amplify" effect.

(This from another user: For the record, I too would like to control the recording level. However, in the absence of a level control, Line 6 has done the only thing they could, which is to design the A/D converter with enough headroom to handle the worst case signal: someone playing hard on a guitar with hot active pickups. Unfortunately, that leaves the rest of us with more headroom than we'd like. Not to worry -- the BackTrack is still quite usable. First, if you want true CD quality audio, you'll have to set the depth to 24 bits. At 16 bits, you don't get anywhere near a full 16 bits of dynamic range because the high order bits are always zero. When you're done recording, load the 24-bit track into your favorite audio editor and normalize it to -0.5 dB (or whatever your desired headroom is), do any other processing (+e.g.+, EQ or compression), and then convert the bit depth down to 16 bits. You'll now have a nice full fidelity, full dynamic range 16-bit audio track. It may seem like a hassle at first, but once you've done it a couple of times, it'll add 15 seconds tops to your workflow.)

But all of these work arounds for raising the volume of guitar generated files - amp out to BT, Audacity, etc defeats the whole idea of using the BT for spontanious recording - and basically makes the BT promotion quite fraudulent.

I have to ask: Have has any Line 6 tech ever actually used a guitar with a BT and tried to use the files on a computer?

Thanks for providing this Forum ! I have accidentally snagged my BackTrack + MIC off my DAW a couple of times. It is so small and light that accidentally moving the USB or INST cable will relocate it quickly. Usually downward ! It would be very cool if the unit came with a bayonet mount to attach it to a camera base. Or at least one of those mini-tripods you can buy for a buck. I was cleaning off files and recharging my Back Track w/ mic using the supplied USB cord. Later I realized the white light wasn't on any more. I thought it may go off when fully charged. Now, It won't power up and my computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it back into the USB....Is there a reset procedure or anything else I can try. I had been very please with the quality of sound once I got the gain adjusted. I was hoping to use it this coming weekend for a big show we have booked. Please help.

Charging via USB on Windows 2000

I'm assuming you can't mount the backtrack (plus mic is mine) on Windows 2000 but shouldn't you be able to charge via USB on Windows 2000? I've got it plugged in and with the Backtrack off, there is no indicator light activity. If I turn it on while connected via USB to Win2000, I get a flashing blue light.

But is it charging in either case while connected via USB to Windows 2000 ? Thanks.

BT+mic will not mount

Just got a new unit from Line 6 to replace a defective unit. New unit will not mount on my computer. Any suggestions? Thank you

My backtrack w mic has ceased to respond in any way except for the pretty multicolored light show it constantly now displays instead?Any ideas?

The backtrack I aquired 2 months ago decided to put on a multicolored light show instead of recording audio or anything else it was designed to do.

At the bottom of page 8 the pilot's guide says, "If your unit fails to operate normally, it may show a series of colors to help in diagnosings the problem." HUH! Diagnosings?!? Anyway, Next it says to check online for an advanced manual. I have and it offers no help!

Can somebody please HELP!!!

I just purchased a BackTrack +mic from my local Sam Ash store. I love this product, however, the plate on the side with the power switch, the play button, fast forward, etc. is missing. This makes it very difficult for me to know which button/switch does what. Is there anyway I can have a replacement plate sent to me? I would return the item to my store but this was the last one they had and they assured me it was never used (which I later found to be false when I discovered many other files already on the device). Please help!

it used to mount on the desktop (Mac OSX Leopard) but I've not seen it for a few days. Tried re-connecting and restarting etc, still no luck.

Après un enregistrement avec mon Backtrack Mic, le témoin reste rouge.

Si je le met en position OFF, le témoin reste toujours rouge.

De plus il n'est plus reconnu par le Setup Utility.

J'ai appuyé sur toutes les combinaisons de boutons possible pour essayer de le 'réveiller'.

Je crois bien que je vais devoir attendre que les batteries soient complètement épuisées

avant de pouvoir l'utiliser à nouveau.

Mon Backtrack est présentemnt inutilsable.

The only other way I can find to boost the volume of BackTrack files recorded directly from guitar is download a free program called Audacity which has an "amplify" effect. Line 6 ought to provide a download that can boost the signal of guitar generated BackTrack file.
