have downloaded "Fresh Copies'" of Riffworks Line 6 Edition. First on an iMac G5, when I couldn't get that to start up I then downloaded it to my MacBook Pro. And the same thing occurs, it quits immediately, and the relaunch window comes up. I have downloaded and updated all support applications and drivers. The edit software is working and talking with the POD/XT Live properly as I have used the tone library online. All my license keys are listed and up to date according to the "Monkey". But I can not access the Expansion Packs that I purchased or open the Riffworks Program that I also purchased.

Please Advise, as I would love to be able to use these Items.

Je débarque complètement sur ce forum et le sujet à peut-être déjà été abordé, si c'est le cas, je m'en excuse.

J'ai un Guitar Port + RiffTracker (Riffworks) et un Pod Studio UX2

Le problème est le suivant, j'aimerais utiliser Riff works (fonctions complètes nbrs de pistes, export des morceaux, etc..) avec le UX2 et profiter des sons et entrées micro de l'UX2.

Est-ce possible ? je n'arrivais pas à le faire dans ma précédente config il y avait 'confli' entre les deux apppareils. Je viens de ré-installer tout le bazard en commencant par l'UX2 et en n'installant pas le Guitar Port, et là, ça se confirme, cette version de riff works ne fonctionne pas sans le guitar port.

Y a t'il une solution ?

Problem with registration

I have been having a problem with this thing asking for registration. Sometimes it works OK and then the next time is tells me it is not registered. Recently I updated "monkey" and it is now taking away the drums (That I paid for!) and not allowing me to save work...I bougt this unit and software from guitar center a little more than a year ago and this problem has been off and on. Now its only in "Demo Mode" Whats really frustrating is I lost around two hours of recording work. poof... gone!

I followed the instructions on Monkey and it still just hands me the same messages.

Riffworks to Riffworks 2 license issue

Dear Sirs,

I own a Line 6 Guitar Port and a license key for Riffworks version 1, registered on the Line 6 website under my account. I originally installed and registered the Guitar Port and Riffworks software from the original cd on my desktop computer, and both registered and worked fine. I also downloaded and installed the free upgrade from Riffworks to Riffworks 2 on my desktop computer about 9 months ago and it registered and worked fine as well. I recently installed the same Guitar Port on my laptop computer and it is working fine. However, I do not have the original Riffworks version 1 cd software anymore, and when I try to just go straight to downloading and installing Riffworks 2, it will only run in demo mode. I know that I have a free upgrade from Riffworks to Riffworks 2, but I can't get out of demo mode. I tried typing in "refresh" in the purchase activation window per the FAQs, but that doesnt seem to fix anything. Please advise on how I can get Riffworks running correctly, as I paid for the software. Thank you.

OK I did what needed to be done. Deleted, downloaded, and reinstalled. Now when I try to save any changes I get this error.

Runtime error...

Program...Works\Riffworks line6 edition.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the applications support.

I also deleted and reinstalled Gearbox. Now some of the tones that came with it are gone as well.

I was able to find missing drum sessions. All previous recordings are safe.

It seems I am stuk in a bind...

Guitar Port with Vista 64-bit

Hey,

I just got a new computer and am trying to set up my Guitarport/Riffworks on it. I had installed these on my old laptop. I installed the program as directed and downloaded Line6 Monkey and updated everything that I could. Whenever I start Guitarport it says "error communicating with server" and the USB symbol in the bottom right is flashing. The light on my Guitarport is solid green. When I start Riffworks it says "No Line6 device was found", but when I plug in my guitar and strum the strings the input LEDs light up as if it was getting input.

Also, I have the older version of Guitar Port/Riffworks. I think I bought it around 2 years ago.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Guitarport Rifftracker won't activate Riffworks

Hi!

I recently bought a new Guitarport Rifftracker. But the Rifftraker that came along, won't be activated!

It constantly runs in demo mode.

I read al mot of threads that treated a smilar problem and tried everything that had been suggested in those.

I typed in Line6 Monkey "refresh". Still no activation!!

I mad an update of all the drivers as well as the USB Firmware (2.7). No activation!

I downloaded 2 additional versions of Riffworks (1.10 and 2.2.2.3009), 2 of Monkey (1.15 and 1.27) and another of Gearbox (3.7).

This is the software that came along:

Riffworks V 1.00

Gearbox V 2 Rev.D

Guitarport V 2.5 CD Rev.K

I registrated my Guitarport Rifftracker unit perfectly in Monkey. The ESN is 00114019

Riffworks with Pod Farm (Go with Guitar Tracks Pro 3!)

I just wanted to confirm (probably a stupid question) if I can use podfarm with riffworks standard ($129 on sonoma's site) to take advantage of the modulation/effects provided by podfarm when recording in riffworks...90% sure that I would be able to, but am curious about how well it worked/didn't work out for other people? My pc is kind of old and slow (P4 2.0Ghz 1mb cache, 1Gb of ram) and I realize that may cause some problems. I am going to install the T4 vers of riffworks that came with my UX1 (free on the sonoma website) tonight as to check it out and what not. Before I got the UX1 (a few days ago and so glad that I did) I used to use guitar tracks pro 3 and plugged into my soundcard in my pc from an output on my amp and it was a terrible setup as most of you probably already know...latency, poor quality, etc. I liked GT 3 Pro though because it was easy and I didn't have to spend forever trying to figure it out, riffworks sounds like the same kind of deal. I'm leaning towards Riffworks and thinking that it would be best to go with the standard version as opposed to the line 6 version based on what I've read in some of the community threads. Anyways, thanks in advance to anyone who has the time to read this and respond.

Riffworks fails to load from disc

I have riffworks with my Guitarport (gearbox v 3.70) but no matter how I try it, The disc won't load - after accepting the Terms and Conditions it says 'Setup is closing' and thats the end of it!!

I've taken off the DEP but it still won't load

Hey,

I tried to re-activate, re-install, and I even tried to "refresh" my activation key for Riffworks Line 6. Whenever I try to open up the program, it says "Activating RiffWorks Failed. Please Contact Line6 Technical Support".

Now it's just running in demo mode. How do I fix this?

I've been looking for a simple, cheap, just recording and as little modeling software as possible software. I don't want to pay for a pod because I already have an xtlive which I would run through. I came across Riffworks, which seems pretty simple, and was wondering how it worked. Mainly, do you need any kind of interface of plug-in? Or can I just connect via USB through my pedal? Also, it says it worls mainly around riffs and overdubbing. Can I record and save and than later mix longer tracks? Basically, can I create a full length song with this or is it meant more for just capturing ideas?

USB Audio glitches with Riffworks - HP Pavilion dv5 Notebook

Hello,

When i start Riffworks Line6 Edition, the PODXT shows a clip (althought output + volumne are set to zero..)

If i press the PLAY button (Instant drummer comes...) i have terrible glitches. Theese are so laud, that the instant drummer or the Riffworks metronome (cow-bell) could'nt be heared. The clip is also visible at the ASIO CONTROL PANEL/Inputs & Recording - Tab. even without i press play or record.

And there are many small more silent glitches, to the Speaker of my guitar Amp, even if nothing is activated but Riffwork was started?

Processor: AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile, 2.2 Ghz – ZM82 with 2MB L2 Cache,

running with ubuntu Linux 9.04 and only for Line6 i've bought & installed a dual boot Vista (SP1) 32 bit to avoid driver problems etc..

(On my Old HP-Omnibook XT 1000; 1,2 Ghz, 256 MB Ram, 20 GB HD and USB 1.1, + WinXP i never had this glitches. Only one short every 10 minutes or so..)

Hi,

I have (for some time) owned a Guitar Port that I used with Riffworks Line 6 edition. Last Week I purchased a Pod Studio GX which I love, the only problem is that Riffworks Line 6 Edition doesn't recognize the GX - only the GuitarPort. Should I reinstall?

I have Line 6 Driver 3.4.3.8 and RiffWorks 2 Line 6 Edition Version 2.22 installed on Windows Vista Business 64 (fully updated as of this writing). On the Line6 homepage Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition lists Pod Studio GX as Supported with Driver 3.4.3.1 or later.

Is there somethign I'm missing?

I've attached screenshots of the website and my Monkey info.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm using Riffworks T4 right now and it's fine, but I'd prefer to use the Line 6 edition if I could.

RiffWorks and Line 6 Edit Issues

I actually have two issues:

When I install Line 6 Edit, when it gets to the part where it installs the Java Runtime Environment I get the message that says "Unable to download the Java Runtime Environment". The installation then continues, but Line 6 Edit is not usable until Java Runtime Environment is installed. I am connected to the Internet through DSL throughout installation. I have actually tried downloading Java from a different source manually and it downloads and installs fine, but Line 6 Edit doesn't recognize it. I kind of feel that whatever server the installation process is referencing for Java does not contain the file anymore, so the install cannot download it. Could you please look into it?
About 4 years ago I bought the original RiffWorks for $99.99. I've been using it quite heavily for a while and then I stopped using it because my computer started having difficulties handling the software and there were major latency issues. Anyway, I have upgraded to a different laptop that is running Vista. I went to the Line6 website to download RiffWorks again to use on the new computer, but I guess the original RiffWorks is not compatible with Vista and my only option then is RiffWorks 2, which I'm required to pay $129.99 for. I don't think it's fair. I've already paid $100 for a piece of software that I would have been perfectly happy using if that was an option. Is there some sort of an upgrade pricing? I would pay the $30 difference to upgrade to RiffWorks 2, but to think that what essentially is the same piece of software will end up costing me $220 is a bit ridiculous. For that money I easily buy a bundle of hardware audio interface and recording software. Please let me know what my options are.

i have been using riffworks for some time on a pc but have recently bought a mac book pro on which i have installed riffworks 2.5 .

The problem i am having is logging on to activate and also logging on to riffworks on my pc aswell. i think i have gotten confused with passwords or something like that....my line 6 user is armadillo07 and i think sonoma is armadillo...is there a different username and password to activate wireworks and can you help me activate it on my mac please

Have I bought the wrong license?

I have an X3 Live and have had the Rifftracker Line6 Version demo running fine. I used the Monkey to purchase a licence, it took me to the store, I paid the 129 bucks and have a licence for v2.5. I can't get V2.5 to install as my system reckons the downloader is corrupt and whatever Itry in Monkey I can't get the Line6 Version to unlock.

I'm trying to upgrade to Rifftworks 2.5 from Riffworks 2 Line6 edition and I have checked that the license keys are found using http://line6.com/account/licenses/

When I click Add to chart I just get error message:

"There are no Licenses available to sell for one of the items in your cart ( Error: 7710)"

So what is wrong? I don't have the old version installed currently but shouldn't the licenses be enough to prove I have the previous version?

Hello,

I have downloaded Riffworks Standard v2.5 from your Line 6 site today and paid $129 for a license key. However, activation just will not work. I am not using Line6 Monkey to activate because I know that will not work with this software.

I have registered with Sonama Wire Works, and when I open Riffworks it asks for username, password and code. However, entering these details does not get the software activated. The username and password are from registering with Sonama and the code is from your store.

Please do not say reinstall software or download it again from from Sonama wireworks - none of these things work, and I'm sure you are aware of this issue looking around other similar messages on these forums.

If you have no other suggestions to resolve this then please refund my payment and delete the license key I paid for.

I look forward to seeing how good your customer service is before I start complaining!

alright so heres the problem

ive been using this software for 2 years now on XP and everything works smoothly i bought the full software that comes with the guitarport

when i install them before it comes with 6 to 9 instantdrummers. but now that i change computer and installed them all over again

it would just give me 1 demo drummer and that sux. ive tried updating to line 6 monkey but still the same thing. i have the guitarport

serial number and also sonoma keys basically everything so it should be giving me all the features of it.

now im using the riffworks t and maybe someone can help me figure out this problem.i just want my instantdrummers back to my system

cause i dont wanna pay for the software cause i really dont deserve it. thanks

Having trouble activating RiffWorks/RiffTracker, purchased with Guitar Port 2.5. I'm not sure what version, the CD says Riffworks 1.0. In any case, I have all updated Line 6 Monkey, GearWorks, etc, GuitarPort is activated. I've gone back through all my emails to see if I have an activation key and I can't find it. I've tried going the "refresh" route with no luck. It goes through all the steps, supposedly reprograms the hardware, etc., but Riffworks still asks for an activation key. Can I get that re-sent, please?

Is the RiffTracker software included with the GuitarPort RiffTracker package identical to the Standard Edition offered directly from SonomaWireworks for $129? Or is the line6 edition somehow integrated better with the guitarport?

Is the Line 6 edition somehow limited? Or is it identical to their full version but with a red skin?

And do they update it regularly like their main edition?

Hello!

Today I bought myself the Rifftracker. I unboxed and installed it with the 2 CD-Roms that came along.

Everything seemed to be fine. I registrated my GuitarPort and was ready to play with my new toy.

I started Riffworks and tried to activate it. As License Key I entred the same as for the GuitarPort.

But that didn't work. I always appeared an error message saying that the code had not been entred in the right format.

I checked every single piece of paper that had been in the box, looked carefully on the covers of the CD-Roms, but I didn't find any other serial code for RiffWorks.

I even checked the plastics of the usb an the mini-jack cable. Nothing to be found.

I did some reseach on your site and found some similar topics. But that didn't help at all.

On the top of the rifftracker box is written that my internet connection would only be required one single time to activate Riffworks as it's being installed.

I'm so confused. Is the RiffWorks' Licence-Key missing? Or am I just too blind to see it?

I forgot to mention that the Rifftracker cost 205€. I had to drive over 200 Km to get to the shop and now I'm so frustrated that it won't work!  I'm grateful for any kind of help or suggestion in order to solve this problem.

Some additional info:  The ESN is 001140191 The box is green and clearly says rifftracker. I added some photos. Maybe that will help.

It's a new version, not second! The ESN Number is 00114019! Please help me solving this problem!!

I downloaded the newest versions of GearBox, Monkey, Riffworks as well as the actual drivers. The firmware has been updated to 2.5. That didn't help! I also typed in "refresh" (without the quotes). No chance. Then I uninstalled everything, cleared the registry on my notebook and tried again with the older software that came along on the cd-roms. I'm going nuts here. I don't know what else I could do. I could also upload a scan of the bill, to prove that my purchase is absolutely legal! Just in case of a doubt from your side. Please could anybody help me with this problem? I'm really desperate!

Trouble Updating RiffWorks

When I Try to update Riffworks Line 6 edition to 2.22, I get a message that there is already "a newer version or Riffworks..." on the drive. I have removed everything that has the word Riffworks in it from the drive and still the same message. I am using an iMAC, OSX.

Hi,

Im having problem using riffworks, as when i run on the quickstart and press on the play button, i could hear the drum beat at first, but no sure why after that i cant hear it anymore.

I am using POD x3 live plug in to USB into my PC. Amp connected thru the L mono output in POD x3 live.

I can see the bar on the screen lighting as i play the guitar but when i try recording it and playback, no sound coming out. And checked on the audio and it is using pod x3 live and output 1 and 2.

I have POD Farm and monkey installed and updated.

i dont know what to be done. Please help, any help will be appriciated.

I turned off the pop up blocker and the anti virus but that did nothing to fix my problem. It seems like the only thing that worked was me getting charged on my credit card.

I have a toneport UX2 that replaced a stolen line 6 pod studio as my house was burglarized. Line 6 issued me a new liscense for my Riffworks but now it says No Line 6 device found. Everything else works. Pod Farm... the free riffworks t4. BUT when i called customer service the goofy guy i got on the phone insisted that it was a problem with my usb ports?? So am i gonna have to drop $130 for the normal version of riffworks just because line 6 didn't really seem to want to support the problem i am having. I have been a line 6 fan for years.... this left a very bad taste.

I have my tone ready in Gearbox, I hit record in Riffworks, it sounds good, I press stop, I listen back...

And all I hear is a dull clean tone similar, if not exactly like, the tuning tone on Gearbox. It's playing back what I played, but not with my tone. This is extremely frustrating. I searched this website for answers. I saw another user with the exact same problem whose question had gone unanswered.

I'm beginning to wonder if this extremely buggy product was worth $200.

In reference to the above, Riffworks crashes once every time I open it up. Usually within the first five to ten minutes. I've begun to open it up, record a bunch of nonsense till it crashes, then start it up again. This wastes a lot of time that should be spent being creative.

Finally, what can I do to fix this and why is it happening at all?

Hello,

I have recorded with my acoustic using the 1/4 inch standard input but it sounds rather electonic.. I'm not sure if it's the pickup which is a piezo or if there is a better way to record. My Strat sounds great though with no issues there.. Can I use a mic in the xlr port or can I use an acoustic directly connected using an xlr output? What type of mic would be recommended? Also I see that the UX1 does not supply phantom power can a separate power supply be used? Any info on this would be appreciated.

Trying to activate Riffworks results in an Error message

Hi folks,

I have a Line 6 UX2 and I am an absolute beginner with this product. Today I bought Riffworks 2.5 Standard Edt. at the Line 6 Online Store. At the end of the purchase I got a screen with the activation code for the new product.

I made the download for the appropriate OS (Windows XP SP3) an started the installation routine. After the installation I started the Line 6 monkey (V.1.31) and tried to activate Riffworks with the given activation code. This results in a popup window with the following error message:

Transaction failed.

Reason: (Code 80003020) License key sent to server was not in the proper format.

If you have popup blockers, anti-spyware, or anti-virus programs running, try to temporarily disabling them.

So I disabled all services of my Mcafee Security Suite in the suite itself and also in the windows control panel - services. I also disabled the MS Windows Firewall and the Popup-Blocker of my Internet Explorer (V.8.0.6001.18702). The next try to activate results in the same error message.

Is there anybody who can help me to activate my new software.

I just downloaded Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition. Then I purchased a Licence Key - funny enough, the links you provide via Line 6 Monkey or your Website

all lead to the Licence for the Standard V 2.5 Version (There's no licence Key for the Line 6 Edition available anywhere on your site).

So I finally got Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition (V 2.2.2) and a Licence Key for Riffworks 2.5 Standard.

During the Activation Process via Line 6 Monkey, which seems to be the only way to activate Riffworks I get the

"code 80003020" blablabla ERROR. Which seems to be quite common lately when I read through your forums.

The Problem seems to be that my Licence Key doesn't work with Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition.

Obviously because it's meant to only work with Sonoma Wireworks Riffworks v2.5 Standard which I can't download

from your site (Why the heck do you sell Licence Keys for Program versions you don't distribute???)

One proposal in the supportforums is to download v. 2.5 Standard from Sonoma Wireworks which isn't an option at all

because they charge you money BEFORE downloading.

Im looking forward for a decent Solution on this Problem - because I just spend 129 $ on a program I can't use yet.

Here are some system specs:

What happens for me ~

Insert disc

~ All Set? Lets install

~ I click "I agree" then the "Next" tab

~ Setup.exe has stopped working

~ I then click "Check online for a solution and close the program"

~ That's it, thats all i get.

I have checked the disc by reloading it onto my old Windows XP laptop and it loads up fine. ;- (

Hi, my name is Doug and I have a question about the Line 6 Riff Tracker. I purchased it years ago but have recently bought a new laptop and am having difficulty getting it up and running. I've installed it with the CD included in the original package, and when I click the icon the following message appears:

"Riffworks Line 6 is running in Demo Mode. To save,mix, riffcast and export you need to purchase a licence key, then activate Riffworks with the licence key using the Line 6 Moneky application. Would you like to learn more now?"

I use the program as my primary means of recording so am anxious to get it working. A friend of mine says that I need to download a patch to get the program running in Windows Vista. Is there any truth in that?

I'm not very computer minded, so any advice you would be able to give me would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a Guitar port with rifftracker some time ago. I have now upgraded to a UX2 and i want to sell my guitarport. I had riffworks with the guitarport and i also upgraded to Rifworks RiffWorks 2 Line 6 Edition. I also bought an expansion pack, which i want to keep.

I do not actually use Riffworks anymore so i wondered if i am able to sell this on with the guitar port. I seem to recall that will need to deactivate the hardware from my account - can i do the same for rifftracker?

I'm keen to use riffworks then export to Garageband or Logic Pro however I'm not sure if you can do that with the Line 6 version of Riffworks? I've been trying to transfer Riffworks and the Riffworks upgrade from my PODXTLive to my Tone Port UX2. I've tried transfering the original Riffworks (not the upgrade) first as the support pages have told me to do. Even after trying to transfer the original Riffworks first, I receive the message "ERROR, CAN NOT TRANSFER THIS ASSET: IT APPEARS THAT IT IS PART OF AN UPGRADE." I'm frustrated because this is not part of the upgrade! It is the original Riffworks! I've tried transfering according to the directions several times and just can't get anywhere.

I'm thankful for any help you can give me. I really want to start using Riffworks with the UX2 as soon as possible.

Okay, I have an extended question here. I bought the very first version of Riffworks for my Windows XP (32-bit) computer back in 2005. Used it; loved it. My computer crashed. It had a few unfinished tracks on there and I want to go about retrieving them. I bought a new computer, Windows Vista (64-bit). I also bought the more up-to-date Sanoma Wireworks Riffworks Standard and installed it on my Vista 64 computer, and it works just fine. I got it to where I don't even have to worry about latency. Anyhoo, my question is this: If I go about retrieving those unfinished files from my old computer (XP 32) and spend a big chunk of money in doing so, and they are able to get those files (they are .rws files, correct?), will I be able to open them with my new RW on my new Vista 64, and continue to work on them and finish them? I really need some expert advice here, because it is very important. I really want need these to work, but before I go spending a lot of money, I need the assurance that it can/will work out.

I wish I could email or call someone to talk to directly, but I can't seem to figure that out. And calling is out of the question, I was on hold, 3rd in line, all day last time. And I never got to talk to anyone.

Please help me out.

If you've been getting the installation failure message that a "newer version exists on your HD":

I got this response from Sonoma:

All you need to do is delete the RiffWorks installation receipt from Macintosh HD/library/Receipts. Once you do that you'll be able to install the update.

ive downloaded and activated the pod farm plugin. I'm using a pod xt. OS = vista.

When i open riffworks , the pod farm plugin doesnt show. It should be compatible with the line 6 riffworks edition if i'm correct ?

Hey guys,

My friend just gave me his tone port ux1 and the install disk tells me I have to have windows 2000 or late (I have vista). Anyway, when I try to download the appropriate patched software from line 6, the only thing that downloads is a .gif file. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, as I am new to this and not very tech savy. Thanks.

Hi, I recently switched computers and can't get downloads of Heavy Core, Heavy Core Too and Gas and Go to work. They work just fine on my laptop, but when I try to install them on my desktop, it tells me that it can't detect Riffworks. I have Riffworks Line 6 Edition installed. I originally bought these drummers to use with a Guitar Port and am now using a Toneport UX1, but I've used these drummers with my Toneport already. Is there any way I can use them again without repurchasing them? Thanks a lot.

I have downloaded riffworks to my laptop (Dell Inspiron 600, XP) 2 times, and when I try to open it up, it locks up at "Loading Metronome: hi cowbell" It used to work before. Can anyone help me? I have a Toneport UX2, I have the version of RiffWorks that comes with the Toneport but I cant save any of the music, it tells me that its running in demo mode and i need to buy the full version, when i look at the website there are two versions one for $99.00 and the other is for $29.99, now as i have the version that comes with the Toneport do I just need to upgrade Riffwork for $29.99 so I am able to record or is the version that im running just a preview and I now need to spend another $99.00 to get the Riffworks program?

On the line 6 monkey page, under updates i have a green ticks next to Gear Box, Pod Farm, RiffWorks 2 line 6 edition and Line 6 Monkey, but then if i click on optional add-ons, next to Pod farm there is no green tick, under sortware i have Riffworks with no green tick and Riffworks 2 Line 6 edition there is also no green tick, which leads me to think that i must now have to spend another load of cash.

So do i need to buy Riffworks of $99 or just the upgrade for $29.99? PLEASE HELP

I purchased RW v2.5 from line6 website and down loaded RW v2.5 fine but only got demo versions of drummers, I've been on the support site for hours with no luck. Here's what I've tried. When I tried to activate it in Monkey I got the error #80003020. I've read every post on this, it seems, in the support section and tried the fixes with no luck. Clicked on the drummers link on "my account" page and it just keeps showing "connecting" like it's trying to connect to a website, but nothing ever happens, downloaded the software installer for the line6 edition drummers, I think I actually have the drummers in a zip file downloaded from Sonoma but I don't know how to get them into the RW program. I know line6 no longer offers the RW upgrades and that they're actually the purchase of the v2.5. Anyway, I've spent $129.00 and can't find the drummers and I'm tired and upset, I've also e-mailed Sonoma support so between the two, maybe I can find the answer. I'm also aware that it could be an operator error on my end, definitely not ruling that out. Thanks for your help, John.

I recently purchased a ux2 along with riffworks line6 from a friend in Florida. How can I transfer the license key in order to register it and be able to use it outside of demo mode and also use all of the add-on drum sessions? Is this even possible? A couple of years ago I bought riffworks with guitarport. I set up a line6 account them probably called rfrankie and old email address of Lsix@rockandceoil.co.uk.Played about with for a while and put it in the roofspace. However I have regained my interest in it. Anyway, I lost access to my old email address so I can't work out my login so I set up my new above. However when I plugged in my guitarport, riffworks won't recognise it and there no serial number in the box or on the guitarport itself.

Basically all I want to do is get my guitarport working with rifftracker and find out how to get version 2 - hopefully it will be discounted as I have version one.

Additionally, will my UX1 work with the new version of riftracker so I can do vocals?

Here I go with a never ending question ? I have written Line6 and have tried numerous time's to call 818-575-3600 to get intouch with tech support inregard's to the continued problem with my GearBox and also my Line6 riff Tracker yes I have upgraded all with Line6 monkey and still no resolution to this issue and everytime I call your phone line is busy yes I have tried pushing 3 on my phone to connect and yet still busy and no responce there either !! Talk about FRUSTRATED and UNSTATISFIED don't know the solution in either problems in connecting with a support person live no not look in forum for anwser I have been in with Line 6 since 2006 and now all of a sudden can't even contact support because the phone line is busy do I sound madd and frustrated well your right I am I would love to put more faith into Line6 again but until then you have lost my confidence and now am looking into Pro Tool's along with a new mixing board steping up my game as far as my own recording's and now I have a Guitar Port that is worthless with no support Hmmmmm !!

Very frusturating issue for me. Riffworks displays an error on startup indicating that "No Line 6 device was found. You will not be able to Save or Mix. Activation Requires a Line 6 Hardware device and an internet connection."

My GX is plugged in and Riffworks can't find it when I use either POD Farm or Gearbox. Everything is up to date according to Line 6 Monkey. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong., can't seem to find a related question / answer anywhere.

recording acoustic guitar with ux-1

Hi, I'm having trouble getting anything that resembles a decent acoustic sound when plugging into my ux-1 and pod farm. I have a Taylor acoustic-electric and when I plug it in, put my headphones on and play I can barely hear it at all. I hear it more just from the guitar itself rather than a sound in my headphones. Even if I crank the output volume way up, the sound is not good. Any help/advice on this issue would be appreciated. Also, I'll add that my guitar does not have onboard volume/eq controls. Thanks!

After being a Line 6 fan I must tell you that I'm super dissapointed in the lack of support there is to simpley input my licence key to RiffWorks. After trying to register through Line 6 Monkey app and getting stiff-armed (yes I disabled pop-up blocker, anti-virus etc..) I searched through the Line 6 forums for a fix to this issue and yes I even tried to register though Sonoma Wire Works and I'm still waiting on a email confirmation! 5 days later, just so I can use the program!

I'm trying to register RiffWorks 2 Line 6 Edition and when I push the Activate product i get a message saying: LICENSE KEY HAS ALREADY BEEN ACTIVATED.

That might be true because I had Riffworks 2 running on my PC but in a very limited version (not many drum loops, no way to record...) so i desinstalled the software and bought the license. Now when i try to activate I get that message.I turned off Firewall, desactivated Antivirus, had no Pop-up blockers...

I own Guitar Port Rifftracker for several years now.

After a period of trying to work with Riffworks, I gave up. I'm not the youngest user and like many others of my generation

I have many difficulties in managing digital programmes.

There was no user manual, the help of the Dutch importer was VERY friendly but much too fast for me.

So I closed the case, there was more to do in life than Riffworks!!

This week I made a re-start. Installed Riffworks for the second time and tried to climb the mountain again.

But how dissappointing this is........................

Isn't there any SIMPLE, STEP-BY-STEP method to learn how to do the most basic things?????

How to build a song with different riffs, how to save such a song, how to drag it to a cd etc.etc.

I tried "click here to see the overview movie" in Riffworks HELP but there isn't any audio...............HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I start up RiffWorks I get a message that "No Line 6 device was Found. You will not be able to Record, Save or Mix. Activation requires a GuitarPort or PODxt and an internet connection"

I get a drop Selection box to select a device, but only Guitar Port and PodXT options are available. There is no selection for Tone Port listed.

I am using Tone Port UX2. It is plugged in and on.

Does anyone know if Riffworks Line 6 Edition is fully functional with Tone Port UX2?

Variax 700 + pod x3 live + riffworks?

I 've been looking around the site for an answer but didn't find one.

I 've just bought a variax 700 electric + a pod x3 live. I installed monkey and updated everything, then installed gearbox.

I then installed riffworks, but I get a demo version, when i try to save i get a "license key" message.

Is this normal? I think I read somwhere in your site that you get a free license for this software when you buy variax or pod x3 live, can't really remember though...

Ok, I just got the Guitar Port and it was basically an open box with just the hardware and some cards in it, so I'm trying to set it up from scratch.

1) I loaded up the monkey, and the gearbox seems to be working..but there is a compatablity issue some where with the recording or sound card. When I go through the support pages it said goto control panel+ sounds and I did.. disabled lots of stuff didnt' matter all I heard was scratches-cracks and total night mare sounds.. then when I goto the second tab midi -record or something along those lines(Vista btw) it worked! just clicking on the tab it worked somehow...well it's kind of annoying to have to deal with that. also the monkey says !chipset error/compatiblity issue.

2) what about the recording software? where do I download that?

3) Also is the ability to play with mp3's etc part of the pay service or is it built into the player software? gearbox?

Anyways, I've been wanting this thing for a long long time, and now I can't seem to get it to work the right way..

also, why no phone #'s to call for support? I've been searching and searching my butt off and it's really annoying to not find any total support... I expect more..

I hope someone can help me here...

Hi, I recently posted a ticket, 95055, stating that i purchased riffworks and used on it my podxt. Unfortunately my podxt has died and the cost of getting it fixed seems expensive. So i now want to use it on my pod xt live as stated in my original question. Unfortunately my last question was cut off with my XTL being registered to my account but with no resolution to having my riffworks back again. Sorry to hassle but i wish to know what my options are. Transaction failed.
Reason: (Code 80003020) License key sent to server was not in the proper format.

I purchased the Riffworks software online and went through all the steps for activiation. I'm running Vista and have disabled my software and hardware firewalls and Defender. I have turned off all security software (including popup blockers, spyware, virus, etc.). I have tried on multiple computers. (I work with IT for a living). Not sure what else to do. I get the following error message every time (which shows up after I type in or copy the licence key and press 'Activate'):

Hello everyone, I am new to Riffworks non Demo version, and I am trying to understand about the drum sessions that are included! After I downloaded & activated Riffworks Line 6 Edition, on the Sonoma Site it said I had two free Drumsessions, , so I got my "Key" and downloaded those... But on the Line 6 Site it says that it includes more than I seem to have?? Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

RW line6 ED Unhandled Exceptions during Rec.

Trying to use multiple drummers, bars and timings to make song...or even a single layer will fail eventually. I have had this trouble before but only very infrequently. What's usually the cause? I have guitar port with gearbox and POD farm, [does not seem to matter which I use], I still get the prob. Latency slider is all the way to the left, ie. more cpu usage/lower latency if that makes a difference... computer well over capable, OS MS XP SP3. Updated drivers and Apps. to there latest versions thru the Monkey to no avail. Of course rebooting allows a restart of nml functioning application, but ultimately fails in the same manner....metronome for count, recorder on, gets to last part of bar sequence, tries to make it back around to the beginning but then get the same horrible buzz and everything stops along with a window "unhandled excetion" Very, Very dissapointing. Sometimes it may get to second or third layer and then fails but always when it starts a new layer ie., doesn't fail in the middle of the bar sequence. I do run reason 4.0 in rewire once in a while, but in this recent event, only attempts of POD farm and Gearbox along with Rw2 line 6 Ed. 2.2.2 build 3009

I've Installed it twice. But, I do see one problem, when I try to run it... It starts only as a process. I don't see the applicaton on screen. Also, no icon was installed on my desktop as requested after installation. It did boot once after re-install.

in the monkey if i want to activate riffworks, it says riffworks is already activated.

if i start riffworks, it says it is not activateed and running in demo mode.

in my account, i see riffworks is installed on ux1......

Trouble Activating Riffworks 2 with a Liscence Key

My problem:

I purchased a liscence key a while back for Riffworks 2. Recently I had to download Gearbox and re-Install Riffworks when I bought a new PC. Now when I load up riffworks after I activated it with my liscenc key it keeps saying at the beginning that it is running in demo mode. As you can see below I clearly have the key and transferred/re-activated it through line6monkey!

How do I get my GearBox to record in RW?

I have GearBox [GuitarPort] and Riffworks installed. However, when I try to use GearBox to record in RW, it doesn't come through. The only Amp simulation that it lets me rely on is Amplitube, and to be honest, Amplitube really isnt' any good. I can get a window displaying my GearBox, but the amp simulation does not come through. In the window, it says something about Line 6 Monkey can activate for you. But I try this and that's as far as the instructions go. I'm lost with this and have no idea what I need to do next. This is extremely frustrating. Can someone help me out, please?

Hey guys - hope you can help....

I just installed the Riffworks that came with my new Line 6 POD UX2 Pod Farm. If I understand this installation guide correctly - it says that you have to go to Line 6 MONKEY to active whatever you indend to use with the UX2 software.

However, when I open Line 6 Monkey to activate Riffworks, I click on "Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition" and the only choice I have to activate says "Activate Purchase".

So I click this and it wants a "License Key".

Where do I find this "key" they're asking for? There's nothing on the disk itself, or it's package. And when I go to "Line 6 - My Account" there's no License Keys listed there either.

It apparently is asking me to Purchase a license to get the key....I was under the impression that this software was free with the POD farm.

Can anyone help with this???

Hi, I just bought Riffworks 2.5 Standard Line6 edition and so far I have not being able to use my Podfarm set within it witch is very upsetting. The program is also freezing a lot specially when I´m trying to use an Amp. I suppose it´s about to be updated but in the mean time I´m just going nuts, please let me know what to do. I did not know about the existence of RiffWorks T4, free edition, believe me, I would prefer to use that version for a while but so far I bought from Line6. I´m the proud owner of a 75wtts Spider III amp with an express foot controler and a Guitar Port from Gear Box Gold ed and POD Farm plugin, witch I´ve being using a lot on my other DAWs; I loved the concept behind Riffworks an so I bought it from you right away. So please, help me recover my pride as a Line6 user, tell me what do I have to do in order to being able to use PODfarm within RWs...

Riffworks Licence key

I have just purchased a new PC which has Windows Vista OS installed. I have tried to load my Guitar port with Riff Tracker disc and then when it would not load I realised that Vista was not supported. I then went to the Line6 website and successfully downloaded the new drivers that were required. The only problem that I now have is my account shows the Riffworks as an available add on and when I try to load it it asks for a licence key. I have checked the installation disc and the packaging that came with my Guitar Port and there was no licence key supplied with it all I have is the serial number of the unit. When I load the disc on Windows XP it just loads everything without requiring a licence key. Please can you advise me what to do? Regards

I'm trying to transfer my Riffwork license to my Tone Direct but I get the error: " Error! You can't move that asset! It's probably the required asset of an Upgrade" when I hit the Transfer Button in Line 6 Monkey.

I originally bought my guitarport complete with the Rifftracker software - version 1.

I ran the line 6 monkey and it said their was an update to version 2, so I installed it - now it says it's a demo and I have to purchase a license key. My old version worked fully - why do I have to purchase a license key for what I was told was an upgrade?

Is there a problem and I should have the full working version based on my original license? If not, how do I go back to the old edition? If I uninstall ver 2, I just get nothing.
