Guitar Port Online for Two Devices

I had one device on my account and guitar port online worked well. I bought a new device and registered it but I don't seem to be able to add a second device and have two devices on my guitar port online subscription. Is this a limitation?

Cannot activate GPO Trial subscription...TonePort DI-S is registered correctly

Hi,

I have recently registered the TonePort DI-S USB device by following the instructions on the Line 6 website. When I open GearBox and press the "GuitarPort Online" button, I can never connect to the site. All I see is "Connecting to GuitarPort Online...". So, I am unable to activate my GPO via this method. The information on my GPO Account Summary page shows that I do not have any activated hardware and includes a link to a page that describes how to open GearBox software and use the online button which is the catch 22 for me. Can someone help me get the subscription activated so I can download the items in my queue?

I can provide you any information you might need so please let me know what my next steps should be.

Recently I've bought the Line 6 Guitarport RiffTracker. Now that I've installed the necessary software I decided to activate the tryout version of Guitarport Online. When I actually startup GearBox and click on GuitarPort online it gives me an error (for more details, check the attachment). When I check my account the evaluation is activated and running, but not on a piece of equipment (for more details, check the attachment). Now when I actually select Add Hardware Device and select the GuitarPort it gives me the following error:

There was a problem (Error 799)
The hardware device you selected is already associated with a service.

So I was wondering what I was actually doing wrong here.

This seems to happen periodlically. Since i don't have a lot of time to play. The inability to use the service when I DO have the time available renders the device and subscrption useless and frustrating...

The eBay seller was a pawn shop and they are trying to contact the previous owner, but might not be successful (it's been a week without success).

I'm in a bind - I can return the item, but will lose return shipping (which is expensive these days) for something that does work.

In any case, I see that you charged my credit card $79.99 for what I am assuming is a renewal of my GPO subscription. This was without my consent and my online account states that you have no credit card on file for me?? The next day (10/31/09) I cancelled my subscription online. Almost 3 weeks later and there is still no refund. When can I expect this?

Configuring Line 6 Toneport Gx to work with Reason 4.0

Sorry if this is a basic or stupid question but I have already spent considerable time trawling through user guides and forums and have hit a dead end.

I have Toneport GX and am using Reason 4.0 as a recording software.

When I use Reason 4.0. with my MIDI device (Axiom 61) everything works fine, e.g. I upload synth tracks, etc, export them as audio files.

However, I also have a guitar and would like to use guitar tracks in these synth songs. How do I get Toneport GX's guitar sounds to be recorded onto my Reason 4.0 tracks?

Sorry if my terminology is incorrect here.

The audio output from the Toneport device comes out of the audio jack into external speakers, yet reason comes through the internal sound card or computer inbuilt speakers, so I dont know if that is good or bad. Is there a way to have the Toneport GX audio come out of the computer sound card with Reason. I have already gone to preferences, keyboards and control surfaces in Reason to upload my Axiom keyboard successfully but when i tried to do the same with Toneport, I seemed to hit a dead end.

Thanks for your help, any advice or insight would be most appreciated. Let me know if any further details are needed but just imagine that i am your bog standard, new user, I am not trying to do anything particularly special, just get the two things to work together.

Activation Issues Guitarport/Vista

Second try--I guess I didn't mark this as a question the first time...

Have just received Guitarport--it will not install on Vista Home Premium 64-bit. The install CD stops after I OK the licensing agreement. I have searched forums for solution with no luck. I have tried to run in as Administrator and in compatibility mode. I have downloaded the latest Line 6 Monkey version 1.31 and the latest drivers for Guitarport. I have registered it online. I have done everything I can think of but it still will not install. I know others have had this issue, so there must be a solution but I haven't seen it yet. What am I missing? I'd rather not pay that money for a cute red plastic box and a useless CD...

BTW, I tried it on my laptop running XP and the installation begins properly. Problem is, I don't want it on laptop (crummy sound). So this is apparently a Vista problem, but it seems someone would have figured out a solution by now.

All Line 6 Monkey and Gearbox software is up-to-date.

Guitar 2 tab will not load. This problem has been going on for a long time. Many people have questioned it. The only response has been "we have logged a bug". Even brand new tracks have the problem, along with alot of old ones. I love the product, but I feel like I'm only getting half the service being paid for. It's disappointing. I see a new track. Get excited to learn it. Load it. It doesn't work ? (same thing with some older tracks).

I'm trying to get to the blues lessons and I click on "click here" from the main page, which takes me to "Learning" and I click on "Blues" and "Intermediate"...after that when I click on any lesson, it just comes right back into the same page.

I registered my UX1 earlier and have now signed to Guitarport online. The problem I have is that any tracks I try to preview show the download countdown which goes down to idle then nothing happens at all. When I click load on a track and select where I am going to download the track to, I get an error message saying " A requested transfer has failed. Download from Guitarport Online: (name of track) Requested object was not found "

This happens with any track I try to load but tones seem ok. I have tried a different USB socket on the computer and have also tried with all other USB devices removed. The GPO subscription is showing as Eval on my account and all Gearbox software is up to date.

I am on a cable connection with no router in place and have tried with all firewalls, pop-up blockers and anti-virus software etc disabled. The computer is running Windows XP and runs the Tone Port great apart from this one issue.

Any help would be appreciated

I spoke with a gentleman from your california office(?) This is my situation.

This morning, I purchased two seperate (Dual packs) from your online store.

1. Metal + FX Junkie

2. Metal Shop + Classics.

I paid 39.95 the first purchase, and 39.95 the second purchase, for a total of 79.90 I installed the first pack, and it went fine. The second pack informed me that I was trying to install a pack that I already had installed on my computer. So I called your Tech support, and explained to the kind man about my problem...He said no problem, I will credit your account...type refresh in the line 6 activation applet...etc etc...I did this...Nothing changed.

Basically. I paid 80 dollars for something I could have gotten for 65. The 'Metal' and 'Metal Shop' are both the same software. Is it me? This seems very confusing, and I can't possibly be the only moron to ever make this mistake. Both bundles should have the name 'metal shop' written in the bundle discription...Maybe I am lame. Regardless, I have an amount of 15 dollars owed to me by your company. I need to know what you are going to do about this, and what the time frame is. This is kind of a hassle...You don't really give a lot of options to contact your sales department.

Toneport Silver Bundled - Unverified Device Issue

My toneport continues to show up as an unverified device after exhausting all the troubleshooting steps I could.

When I open GPO in Gearbox, it shows a page saying I have to activate the device. When I click the link there it takes me to the product registration page, but it already shows my toneport as being registered.

I've doublechecked the serial several times, both letting it autofill from Line-6 Monkey and entering it manually.

I've restarted my computer, disabled firewalls and antivirus software, removed and readded the device to the GPO device page, reinstalled the drivers, and activated the GPO purchase in L6 Monkey using 'refresh' as the product code.

The other functions of the device work fine.

Hello! I just received my TonePort DI-S and part of the 3-month trial, and I've installed all of the most up-to-date versions of the software (GearBox, drivers, Line 6 Monkey, Pod Farm). The unit works great, and the effects and amp models work perfectly. The only part that does not work is GuitarPort Online through GearBox.

I've tried connecting to other USB ports on the computer--no luck.

I've reinstalled the drivers and the applicatons--no luck.

I'm using an Apple PowerMac G5 (Dual 2.0) and my computer is behind a router. It looks like some other folks on this board have had their hardware activated remotely--is it possible for someone at Line6 to do that for me? I'm really looking forward to trialing this service, but so far I'm unable to. Please let me know. Thanks!

I use a eMac running Panther 10.3.9 (1.25 ghz) and do not have Tiger nor plan to update (as if I did I would incurr latency issues) but the reason I am writing is I did the "free POD FARM" license down load last night (my bad as I shoud have known the specs were different as far as Operating System)

I have a Line 6 Podxt and three model packs installed (and a Line 6 Variax 500) all 3 registered in proper area

I have not activated the Pod Farm license and do not plan to, I know his sounds really stupid but can I get the license taken off (I attempted to return the

license and got credit error (most likely ? as it was a free down load perhaps I am worring about nothing but my PODXT is (knock on wood) running great

and reading the process of putting POD FARM in to the PODXT (unless I am way off) is via USB in to The PODXT like Models packs

(I did hear it could go in to your computer as well) but its incompatible. I hope this makes sense,

Or if I just leave it alone (unactivated) will it go away after the end of Sept 2009

Problem with specific track

I have downloaded the track "Freedom" by Robben Ford from GuitarPort Online (User ID 263571). But there seem to be problems with the tablature of that song! As soon as I come to the "Solo" part of the song I get the message "Error Communicating With Server". I tried it multiple times also with restarts in between and it's always the same error at the same part of the song. Hope you can help me!

HI,

I just registered here to download the free pod farm.

I went to the download page, said "generate", and it asked me a serial or some ilok info. I had not registered my ilok key at this time, so I went to the pace site to register the ilok key. I downloaded the ilok client software to register my key, which I ran, and it rebooted my mac. When I rebooted the mac, the line 6 page closed as the shutdown forced safari to shut down. When I returned to the line 6 download page, it said I had exceeded my download limit of one, even tho I in fact downloaded nothing at all.

I wonder if you might be able to sort this out? I'd like to run the pod farm software. I have owned a line 6 pod for years, and I also own the green delay pedal.

I have an orginal guitar port and have decided after many years to give guitar port online a go again and I've bought a 1 year subscription plus the mod pack that gives the guitar port all the POD cabs and effects.

Gearbox says my port needs firmware upgrade but monkey doesn't give me the option. Plus when I try to upgrade additional options it goes right to the end and then "error"s.

Is my guitar port so old that it doesn't have an upgradeable firmware?

Hello.

So Line6 hooked me with the TonePort DI-S, which I've been using for a few weeks, including downloading tracks, tones, and lessons. I've been so impressed I just added the POD X3 Live for live gigging. Of course, one of the first things I tried to do was to load my downloaded tracks, tones, and lessons for use with the X3 Live, but I get an error message:

Cannot load track file: <blah blah>

Reason: (Code 80007106) Subscription no longer active.

Plugging the TonePort DI back it, it seems I can load the tracks etc., as before. Further, I'm sure my subscription is up to date.

Anyone have an idea what's happening? Can I use multiple Line6 devices on the same subscription? Can I load the same tracks/tones/lessons onto either device?

Tone Changes are Delayed and Not in Sync with Track

I have a Variax 700 and an X3 Live. I love them both. My latest toy is a GuitarPort XT and a subscription to GuitarPort Online. I simply cannot say enough good things about GuitarPort as a tool for practice and fun.

Anyway, I have been experiencing one irritating problem. When playing against a track downloaded from GuitarPort Online and saved to my hard drive, the programmed tone changes seem to be delayed by about 3/4 of a second to a full second. For what it's worth, this is happening in Rush's "Spirit of the Radio". Usually, the first chord of a new section is still processed under the tone from the preceding section.

I am having no other problems (i.e., no popping or stuttering). I turn off my wireless card during playback and close any unnecessary applications. I have tried to fix the issue by adjusting the hardware and driver setting in GearBox (buffer size) and by adjusting the playback audio settings in GearBox. No joy...

Full Disclosure: I am fully aware that the problem could be on my end, 'cause I'm doing some things that I'm not supposed to be doing - like using an Acer Netbook with an Atom processor and 1GB of ram (supplemented with a 4GB super fast SD card used as a "ReadyBoost" system enhancer), on which I have loaded Windows 7 RC. Yes, I know that Line 6 is not officially supporting Windows 7 yet - and that may be my problem. But is that the source of the problem, or is it something else? Has anyone else experienced this "tone change" delay? Would I have better luck using my X3 Live as the dongle instead of the GuitarPort XT (though that would sort of defeat the whole convenience thing)?

Please help me find a solution. I really think this "tone change" delay is the only thing standing in the way of me actually becoming Alex Lifeson...

BTW - to anyone that's interested, I have had no problem with any of Line 6's drivers (GearBox, Monkey, GuitarPort, etc.) in Windows 7. I have set applications to run in Vista SP2 compatibility mode.

I went to Custom Tone and downloaded some new patches like boston, radiohead, and satch however get a nulltone incompatibility with pod xt live, used monkey and updated line 6 edit, monkey, and usb drivers. No luck, only patch i could bring up thats current is crystal mountain, and down with the sickness, I have all expansions except bass, guitarport tones supposed to be compatible with pod xt live. I also tried redownloading a few patches too.

I am not able to view or download any tablatures from my web account. I can download Tones and Tracks with no problem. When I click on the Tablature button, nothing happens. The botton directs me to a web page identical to the one I am viewing with a # sign after it. For example, viewing this page:

I'm logged into Guitarport Online, my Gearbox is connected and open, my Guitarport device is attached and working, my account is active - showing Eval as status with my single GP device registered, and my L6 Monkey says everthing is up to date. I've tried in both Firefox 3.08 and IE7. Everything works great, except that I can't see tabs. Accessing the track by loading into Gearbox allows me to see the tab a line at a time, but is useless if I want to follow or play along as there is no way to print the tab or see full screen.

Please tell me how I can download and print or see tabs on full screen. Thx.

Hi,

I have new MacBook Pro 13" 2,53GHz (4GB) with all newest Mac SW and All Newest Line6 SW with Tone Port GX. GearBox looks to run like heavy usage of processor even that I but buffer size in what ever position. It sound ok in 3rd smallest size and bigger. Then I logged in to GuitarPort Online load song there and try to play, but it says that can not play because my subcription is too old... even that I was in there at the same time... Please fix your latest SW ASAP!!!

I'm having problems when I try to purchase the Metal Shop model pack through the Line 6 Shop page. I just can't get any longer than typing in all the required info, like the credit info, personal info, etc. When I try to click the "Place my order" link, nothing happens at all. I'm just stuck on the same page at the checkout. I'm completely clueless as to what to do now. Also, when you buy any model pack, will you get a license code and ability to download it directly after the purchase, or will you be sent a cd or similar to where you live? Hi Line6,

I'm seeing the same problem as a lot of other people. I just activated my 3 month bundle subscription this afternoon, and was able to download a song without any problems (only tried one). I just tried downloading another song and a lesson (it's now 11:30 pm) and all I get the dreaded "Requested object was not found."

I can open and play the track that I downloaded earlier. I just can't get anything new. Please help!

PS - I'm running the latest downloaded software versions on XP. Not sure if it matters, but I installed POD Farm (the app, not the plugin) this evening as well.

I've rebooted. For the hell of it, I've even tried doing a "refresh" from Line 6 Monkey activation (as suggested on another thread).

Trouble Connecting Device: "Subscription Not Active"

So I gather this has happened to a few of us before: I haven't connected for a while (overseas trip), and now I can't seem to connect to either of my two devices, even though subscription appears in order when I look at my account status (says "Current"). For either device, after properly selecting it as the "Activated Device" on line6.com, when I attempt to load a track, I get a dialog box, which says:

- Cannot load track file: xxxxxxx

- Reason: Your GuitarPort Online subscription is not active

.....More stuff.....

- Reason: (Code 80007106) Subscription no longer active

This has happened to me at least once before where my account had to be reset. Can someone in Line6 look into this and "reset"?

So is there a way to prevent this? It seems a bug in the system to me that the system locks me out even after charging my credit card, no?

I find difficult to understand with Line6 products is the overlap of the features with your software.

For example, since buying my Line6 Guitar port, I have loaded onto my P.C. the following; GuitarPort Online (from Red Box), Riffworks (cost $99,99), Line 6 Monkey, Gearbox, Riffworks Line 6 Edition (Would not accept the $29,99 upgtrade licence key) I am really not sure which product to use as, apart from the Line6 Monkey, they all seem to do the same thing!

There is an absence of clear consice instructions to instruct what product to buy when you purchase the Guitar Port., or which products do what. The Line6 Monkey does not show when similar products are installed and that if you have one piece of software you do not need the other. To most people, this is very confusing. This maybe smart marketing to have people doubling up on software, but confuses customers.Can someone explain or offer a solution?

I have been trying for the better part of 48 hours to simply transfer my model packs from my pod xt pro to my ux2. I was really excited about the possibilities of the ux2, but you know when I cant get it to work properly because the servers keep timing out so I cant move my models over it gets really frustrating.

I've done everything I can on my end, tried to access other pages while the line6 monkey was timing out over and over, the other webpages work, turning off my firewall, nothing seems to help. Servers just keep timing out over and over. In the mean time I have to keep going back to my account page, because if the transfer fails you basically have to completely start over because if the monkey recognizes that you were connected with the server to transfer a pack, it assumes its alreadyu transferred even though it isnt.

Can someone please help me before I loose my mind?

I have a PowerBook G4 running OSX 10.4.11 and Line 6 Edit 3.00 build 96.

I can't access the online library anymore. This happened after I installed and start using Gearbox.

Gearbox works fine but doesn't offer the same functionalities to search the online library for tones.

Have just received Guitarport--it will not install on Vista Home Premium 64-bit. The install CD stops after I OK the licensing agreement. I have searched forums for solution with no luck. I have tried to run in as Administrator and in compatibility mode. I have downloaded the latest Line 6 Monkey version 1.31 and the latest drivers for Guitarport. I have registered it online. I have done everything I can think of but it still will not install. I know others have had this issue, so there must be a solution but I haven't seen it yet. What am I missing? I'd rathewr not pay that money for a cute red plastic box and a useless CD...

Track loads & plays, but GuitarPort browser contains only cryptic chars

I have had great success with this service, but have seen this issue once before although it appeared to be fixed by downloading the track again. Now that doesn't fix the problem. All track loads produce the same result. The browser contains only cryptic characters and the tabs (tone, tabs, etc.) are missing. See attached screen capture. Monkey says everything is up-to-date, please advise.

I have had this thing for years now, my father bought it for me 6 or 7 years ago, second-hand via internet. There is no way that I can retrieve or contact the previous owner, if that is who this device is registered to. I do vaguely remember that I have tried to register it back then, but I can't remember if it worked, I guess not since it is not registered with my account.

Can you register it for me?

I can not get onto gp online or receive queues for tabliture either . I have been signed up for 30 day free trial,but have not even been able to get day 1 out of this! This is very frustaating and disapointing!

Riffworks will only work in Demo mode unless I plug in my Guitar Port. I want to be able to use the software without plugging in my guitar port. My line 6 monkey only recognizes my activation when the guitar port is plugged in. Is there a way around that.

How do I choose another Triple Pack Deal combination of addons?

Guitarport Taking 10-30 Minutes to 'Initialize'

I'm not even sure if this is the correct place to post what is essentially a cry for help, so forgive me if I should direct this elsewhere (but please also let me know where that place is as there doesn't appear to be a straightforward Guitarport support board anywhere here). Anyway, here's my problem...

Every single time I use Guitarport I have to wait for anything between 10 and 30 minutes after starting the application before I can get the Basic Tone or any of the Preset or User defined sounds to work. I get a signal (i.e the light on the Guitarport changes from green to orange as I play guitar) and the Bypass and Tuner settings both work just fine right from the start, but nothing else. I usually spend the 10-30 minutes randomly changing sounds/settings and selecting and de-selecting the Bypass and Compare buttons until eventually (and following no discernible pattern) Guitarport starts to work.Needless to say this is puzzling, but to be frank it's also driving me completely mad and I really hope someone here can help before the Guitarport gets thrown out of the window . I'll list some details which may help a diagnosis

I bought a new computer a few months ago and the problem started at that point. This issues never happened on my old PC.
My OS is Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium SP1
3gb RAM
Dual core AMD 2.6GHz CPUs
Guitarport is version 2.01.1
Guitarport firmware is version is 2.07
I've owned and used Guitarport for about 4 years now and know the product pretty well. I'm confident I'm not making any obvious mistakes. For instance, if it was a problem with the way I have things wired up surely I wouldn't be able to get it work at all.
Guitarport is plugged directly into the PC via a primary USB 2.0 port (i.e. not connected via a USB hub). At all times the USB icon in the bottom right of the Guitarport software reports a working connection.
Once Guitarport starts working properly it doesn't go wrong. I mention this to highlight the fact that performance isn't intermittent; there is just the initial issue in getting it to work. Once it's working it's solid and as long as I don't close Guitarport or re-boot the PC I can get weeks-worth of use out of it with no issues.
If I open Guitarport and leave a guitar plugged in, but don't cycle randomly through a battery of different sounds/settings as described above the Guitarport will never work. I seem to need to fiddle inanely for a period of time before Guitarport starts making the right noises.

I am eagerly awaiting feedback of any sort. I love Guitarport (and Rifftracker).....and I have so little time to use them that I honestly can't afford the 30 minutes it regularly takes to get a sound out of it

Moved GP to new computer

I have a new computer, so I need to move my GP to that new PC. Also, my credit card # has changed, so I need to update that information. I'm trying to do it through the Line 6 website with no luck. Very frustrating! I also tried removing the hardware registration (it won't let me because there is a service attached), cancelling the service (it won't let me do that) and changing the credit card number (no luck there either). I have logged in correctly with my username/password, so I'm baffled by my complete inability to make any of these changes and would appreciate some help.

Please know Im using the latest gearbox, with line 6 monkey and PodFarm on a XP Pro SP 3, AMD 2.8 single core, 3 Gb ddr400 RAM

Please also find enclosed a screen dump of an error I have whilst playing the track 'Descending Groove - No Lead'.

The track plays fine but when on the 'Lead Sheet' I get this error message come up twice each time it moves from one section of the song to another. Twice everytime.

Ive tried shutting gearbox and reloading the track with the same result

Hello. I purchased a guitar port and registered it 2009-02-24. (serial: 21GPT00120547)

When trying to install the software, it isn't compatible with vista and 64 bit, so I had to download updated software from the website. When trying to open the software, I'm prompted for a license code which I'm not sure where to find or get.

Hi,

I tried the 30 day trial of GuitarPort online, with my guitar port xt device, but was never able to get GearBox to do anything more than show the "Connecting to GuitarPort online" image. So, even though I didn't get to try it out during the 30 day eval, I thought maybe if I buy a month subscription, that it would start to work. No dice.

So, Line 6 Monkey says I am up to date on all my software. The internet works for every other app on my computer so thats not a problem. The GuitarPort is plugged into a USB port on the computer itself and has a green light. I can play it through gearbox just fine.

The only thing slightly odd is that in My Account, it says that my device is "unverified". I entered the serial number from the device, and the website knows what kind of device it is, but could this be the problem.

Any other ideas?

Ideally I could have done the 30 day trial, but if this doesn't work either, I want my money back for the month subscription since it doesn't work either.

Switched over from pc to a new macbook pro, downloaded Line 6 Monkey, got gearbox and pod farm working. However, when I try to load a GuitarPort Online track it says my subscription is not active. When I check my GPO info on the website it says that subscription is current.

I just purchased the bass expansion pack for my pod xt. i have updated my firmware and driver in the line 6 monkey software. when i click on the "optional add-ons" tab, the "activate purchase" button does not highlight, but remains grayed out.

this leaves me no way to enter my license.

I have a PODxt with a few model packs. I recently bought a UX2 which came with downloadable packs. I cannot see any way to use one set of packs with the other device or vice versa. Are you expected to buy the packs separately for each device owned?

Guitarport Windows XP problem

I recieved Guitarport as a gift recently. On installation, I get a message that there is a problem with this version of Guitar port and Windows XP. Also, Line6 Monkey does not recognize the fact that my Guitarport USB is plugged in.

There seems to be a ton of useful things on Guitarport.com but finding them is a pain in the *** but the only way to find them is to do searches. There seems to be no easy to follow, logical index or table of contents.

8 bucks a month is cheap but if I have to hunt around forever doing searches it makes me want to avoid the site.

When I open gearbox (with my Line6 DI-S connected via usb) and try to go online, I get the "loading" screen and nothing else. I've tried a number of times on different internet connections and even left it for an entire hour, but all I ever get is the "loading" screen. Everything else works I just can't get gearbox to connect. Has anybody else had this issue?
