Ok, here's my little home studio.I'll post the pics first and then list the equipment later.

This is what ya see when ya walk in. One computer (left,silver) is for the Internet and the other one (right,black) is my DAW. The gray box next to the rack of effects is a 220v to 110v transformer/converter. Half my studio is 110v and the other 220v.

Some of my guitars. There's a Roland VS-890 that covered at the bottom of that old brown shelf, then in the middle is two external hard drives. One is a terra bite and the other is 250 gigs. Then a audiophile USB soundcard. I use only the MIDI on that thing. That's sitting on a external CD burner Then on top is a USB turntable.

This is why the internet computer has to be put in the living room. I'm working on a drum track and hanging out here.

There's a Hughes & Kettner Red Box Pro next to the Samson Headphone amp, a Boss DR-550mkII drum machine, a ART Tube Pre-amp, JL Cooper Datasync2. Underneath all that is the Tascam DP-004 Pocketstudio. On the right is a ADAT XT. Underneath it is a Technics DAT recorder. Then you can see my Toneport GX. I sometiimes mix out of the computer to the ADAT or to the DAT recorder.

The ADAT is used for 8 extra input/output channels. I have the ADAT lightpipe connected to the Echo Layla 24. This gives me a total of 16 inputs and 16 outputs. No use for it here but there was a use for it in my old place.

Thje mixer is a Mackie CR1604-VLZ. My effects rack.There are two 110v RackRider Power conditioners on top. The blue thing is a ART Tube Preamp, Under that is my second Digitech Studio Quad V@ four channel multi-effects unit, Under that is my Echo Layla 24 sound card (silver), the below that is two dbx PB-48 patch bays, below those are a dbx 296 Spectral Enhancer, then a dbx 266XL dual channel compressor/gate, below that is a dbx 166A dual compressor gate and last is a Behringer Edison stereo image prcessor with a phase meter. The little red box is a active D.I. box by Behringer.

Look!!!! I got my X3 Live back!!! LOL. The most important thing is the cup of coffee.........

My stack of guitar cases, all empty except two of them. I've got more down in the basement. My two Gator bags. One is for the XT Live. My Shure wireless case. I have to sell it now since Sennheiser is sponsoring my band now. We're getting the new and latest wireless gear next week!!!!

The one bottom rack underneath the Tech 21 Power Engine has a Digitech Studio Quad V2 effects processor and the other one has my Toneport UX8 in it. Then ya got the Tech 21, Peavey Studio 112, some cheap Ibanez practice amp I got for 10 bucks. On the righ next to the stack of small amps is a guitar stand case that has my cables in it. It holds up to five guitars when it's set up on stage. The big silver case has my M13 and Boss expression pedal, The brown case has my XT Live in it right now but the X3 Live will be put back into it. The small silver case has my Gig-FX mega wah, Digitech Whammy, BBE Sonic Stomp, MXR Micro-Amp and the Marshall JVM amp Foot controller. And yes.....those for shelves at the bottom are filled with LPs. LOL I love vinyl.

The Behringer FCB 1010 MIDI controller(very top)and some more effects stomp boxes.....

Boss case (very top) that has my Boss DD-3, CH-2, TU-2,RV-2 pedals, ISP Decimator, Marshall Jackhammer. The one thing sticking up is a Korg Tone Works AX30B Bass effects pedalboard and the one case next to it has the Behinger Bass V-amp. It has guitar amp sims too. I haven't taken that thing out of it's case in years. LOL

Possible Better Studio Setup

I love my little ole Line 6 GuitarPort no matter if I am using my Variax or any other guitars with it. The tones absolutely rock my socks off when used with my ESP LTD gear with active EMG pickups! The problem I ran into was the processing power required to have one PC running both the GuitarPort software and Cubase already handling a mess of tracks nad effects (ofcourse these days the software that talks to the Guitarport on it's PC has been replaced with GearBox).

So to solve the processing power problem I split all my guitar processing and recording tasks onto two separate PC's. PC1 runs GuitarPort and PC2 runs Cubase. Well because I had a great deal of inputs going into by Firebox I got tired of unplugging and plugging in inputs from different instruments, microphones, etc as I would record. So, I placed a mixer before the Firebox in my network of items. So when I want only the Guitarport signal from PC1 I simply mute everything else on the mixer. My levels are already adjusted and I am ready to go.

Well this all sounds good but try as this perfectionaist might, the tones that I pipe over into the Cubase PC (via the mixer from the Guitarport) just do not seem to have the same vibrance and sting. I am pretty happy with my little setup but think there might be a better way to do this without spending more money or losing any existing functionality. Again the whole reason for splitting onto two PC's is dedicating power to system functions like Guitarport Processing and Multi-Track Recording. PC2 that does Cubase is stripped down and does nothing else, only a minimum of an OS install, no additional bloatware, no antivirus, Win32's bells and graphics are all disabled and this system is plane Jane to perform to handle a max of tracks. I know ther are Firewire mixers; again...not looking to spend more or significantly alter my current studio, just looking for maybe one of you guys to put eyese on this and give me some tips that are obvious that I have not stumbled across and help me think outside the box. Recording with Pod x3 - beginner question

Hi. I recently started using the POD X3. I generally use it with headphones to listen as I play (I'm NOT an accomplished guitar player, and anything else might be considered torture). In any case, it was suggested to me that I record myself so I can gauge my progress. I am not quite sure the best way to go about this with my equipment, or if I need additional equipment. I've looked around the forums, and I've picked up some info, but I'm just not connecting all the dots.

I'm assuming I can buy one of the various software packages for recording (I saw Riffworks in the line6 store), and the POD X3 will be able to interface via its USB 2.0 connection. Is that correct, or do I need one of the interface type products I'm seen around the Line6 site?

Is there recommended software for someone at my low skill level? (luckily, my computer skills and knowledge are more advanced than my guitar skills). I don't need top of the line software, but something with room to grow would be great.

Would I monitor recording via the same headphone jack on the X3? I'm assuming this would not include any track I'm playing along to, but this is a point of confusion for me.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I know there's lots of info out there, but I think I need to have an "AHA!" moment first.

Pod X3 Live amplification question...

Hi, I have a Line 6 Pod X3 Live, and I wonder wich is the best system to amplify it on stage or/and in the rehearsal room. I have 3 guitar amplifiers (Marshall, Vox, Fender) and it seems that it's not the best solution to plug in a guitar amp.. I think the best way will be a pair of active speakers, but not sure. I hope someone can help me...Could someone recommend any tip, brand or model?.

ok let's get to my ploblem..
it's about Record with microphone.
When i record Vocal or Acoustic Guitar the sound it's very quiet!!

i turn the Mic gain Knob about 80%..But the sound is come out about 10%
i the software they have a micpre...
when i using by microphone.. i can not hear different between plugin mic with out preamp and not use a preamp..
the sound level is same .... the parameter it's showme about -35 db...it's about 10% of 100%

then i try to boost it up +18dB (in the POD software they have this option for mic)
Sound come out more .. but noise come out very much.. that why i can't turn the mic gain up to 100%

not boost = low singnel (i can't work with this sound i'm sure)
boost = come with noise (i don't want to use noise gate..it's very make a sound very bad) now i;m using some Noise redruction

i'm verry sure my room it's verry quiet ..becouse i working with notebook and some time i record in bathroom sure it's quiet

and somebody told me " Hey you should buy a new interface" or " Buy a new microphone" "Buy a new computer"
i can pay everthing about they said.. and when i go to store i can't try before buy ..
i don't have much more money for this dream.. i worked hard for 3-4 mount for audio interface i want to capture the dream..

so i need to make sure what i should buy next things..

and this quiestion..
"if i buy a external premic for make a high signel before plug it in POD UX2..
The Signel will high and i don't need to boost to much gain in the audio interface is it right??"
So noise will not come to much and i get a high Mic Volume is it right??
( i think i'll get ART TUBE MP3 it's chaep for me)

or i should buy other things not a micpre???

Recording with POD X3 Live and Sonar8

I was recording using Sonar 8 Producer and a POD X3 live as my I/O for my guitar stuff and a Vaio notebook with 2Gig of ram a 1.6 dual core 32 bit, and it was working well. But I had to switch the notebook to a HP 64 bit 2.0 dual core and 4 gigs of ram and now I’m having a lot of problems! The audio stops, and the sound is chopped up and glitching. So I try to minimize the programs running on the background, stopped the wifi conection and networking, I also went into the ASIO panel and maximized the buffers performance. It helps but it doesn’t fix the problems. I appreciate if anybody could help me! Should I get a different notebook, or a better I/O?

Recording in Pro Tools with POD X3

I am using my POD X3 to record direct into Pro Tools 8 LE and cannot get the same sound when recording as the sound coming from the headphones of the POD. Why are the tones so different and how can I get the same sound from the POD in Pro Tools as I do from the POD to the headphones?

can I use the UX2 as the interface for protools software?

can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone so maybe one of the line6 overlords will be able to tell me. I want to use my UX2 as the only interface(no dongle or extra Mbox stuff) with protools. I really only use Nuendo(awesome program) but I do need to cut my teeth on protools and do not want to have to run out and buy an mbox. the line6 stuff is great for my travel/demo rig but I sometimes need to deal with protools files from other studios; this will help me convert the tracks over to nuendo. thanks for any help you can offer!

Pod XT LIVE

I use my Pod XT LIVE as a recording interface to record into Riff Works. I have always used my head phones out (on my POD) to monitor my work. When I think I have what I want I mix down to .WAV file and listen to what I have captured through a sound editing software that plays through my computer speakers.. I would really like to monitor what I do through my computer speakers as I record through the POD from my computer speakers. Does anyone know how to set it up that way?

"Disk is Too Slow" error in Garageband 09

Hi All,

I just upgraded my computer to a Macbook Pro 15" 2.8Ghz, 4GB RAM & a 7200rpm drive and running OS 10.6

Last night, I finally got all my Line 6 software updated and got all my settings correct to get sound into, and out of GB. I put down a few bars of loop percussion and began to record guitar over it, but after a measure, I got an error that said "Disk is too slow -10005"

There's nothing else running, I was using a "basic" track, instead of a guitar track (no fx or modeling on the computer side).

I also noted that the transport cursor (the thing that shows you where you are in GB) is red, and the online help mentions that that happens when the system is being taxed. It should normally be yellow.

I can see no reason that I'm having this issue. There's got to be something I'm missing! A quick look at the Activity Monitor shows no black hole sucking up my processor or disk usage....ugh!

With my Powerbook G4 1.67Ghz book, I rarely had an issue like this (unless I had a ton of tracks).

Any ideas? Suggestions about where to look?

Btw...I'm using a POD XT-Live, connected via usb

UX1 input levels are too low

Hi there,

I'm using UX1 as the interface to record guitar into my Mac using Logic 9 Express. In the channel strip settings it's saying that I'm peaking at around -22 db which seems way too low.

I'm assuming there's something wrong with my setup, but I don't know where I change this. Any suggestions?

Help with Reaper

Hey guys, I need some help.

I'm using Reaper to import tracks, mix and master and finally export it. And that's where I'm having a problem. I'm trying to export my tracks, with effects (actually mastering) and everytime I do, I only seem to have a choice of consolidating, which doesn't seem to do anything but add more files to the folder.

How do I get my tracks exported as wav files, with effects, without having all those consolidated files?

BIG Toneport UX 2 problem!!

I have a huge problem with my Toneport UX 2.. I recently bought a macbook , but when I tried to install Gearbox and my Toneport :

As soon as I plug in my Toneport with the USB cable my Mac freezes and tells me I have to restart the computer by holding the power button.

If I dont unplug the Toneport then it will just freeze again immediately after I restart it. So this happens at the start of the Gearbox installation. I've tried installing gearbox first and then plugging in my toneport but that just showed the same results.

I don't know what to do, because my toneport works fine on my Windows, but that computer is just too slow to work with.

Can anyone please help me??

Monitor and Subwoofer setup with UX2

I just bought a SW10K experience for my nEar05 experience. The sub sounds amazing but I don't know if I've setted it correctly, anyone can give me a hand?

This is my config and documentation by ESI:

I have both 05's plugged by XLR to the SW outputs and the inputs of the SW to the UX 2 by XLR->TRS cables, and the interface connected by USB to a Mac. This I think that it's OK, but the problem is how to set the knots in the sub:

subwoofer crossover control(50HZ---250HZ; setted at the middle) – this controls a 2 order (12dB/octave) low-pass filter with upper limit between 50Hz and 250Hz. You can adjust the crossover frequency for the actual SW10K eXperience subwoofer output here. If you are not using any satellites connected to SW10K directly, set this to 250Hz. Don’t confuse this with the satellite crossover control (11).

phase control(no text, setted at the middle) – the purpose of this control is to match the phase of the satellite cut off frequency to the phase of the upper frequency limit of the subwoofer. Adjust the phase control for maximum sound pressure at cross over frequency in order to make sure that the subwoofer and satellites are in phase at cross over frequency. This allows you to get the maximum sound pressure and most accurate sound quality after setup.

satellite crossover control (50hz...250Hz; setted at the middle)– this allows you to adjust the crossover frequency for the output to the satellites connected to SW10K eXperience via the XLR outputs (10). Don’t confuse this with the subwoofer crossover control

And here are the specifications of the sattelites and sub:

ESI NEAR05 EXPERIENCE:

frequency response: 60Hz - 22kHz
crossover frequency: 3.2 kHz

ESI SW10K EXPERIENCE:

subwoofer crossover frequency: 50Hz - 250Hz (adjustable)
separate satellite output crossover frequency: 50Hz - 250Hz (adjustable)

as you can see I'm a little newbie on this type of configurations. Thank you in advance and sorry for the large post.

Anyone trying out Propellerhead's Record Software?

i received an e-mail a few days ago with an access code and instructions for downloading a public beta of Record--full featured until the official release apparently.

i can't do a complete review--who would give a $hit anyway--but i can say that it installed without a hitch and was easy to set up with my audio interface (motu ultralite.) i tried recording a few tracks--pretty intuitive, i didn't have time to dive into a manual. i ran into some trouble with the insert fx which i haven't worked out (but didn't spend more than 10 minutes trying.) i really wanted to hear the POD plugins--i love the simplicity of the interface for the guitar and bass plugins (very refreshing after the horrors of the POD Farm.) i have to say that there has always been one thing about Reason that i didn't like and that same "feature" makes it's way directly into Record. what starts out as a pretty nice single-view interface soon turns into 3 (or maybe more) Rack-like windows and there seems to be a hell of a lot of vertical scrolling involved in getting around everything--i've got a 24" imac and it seemed, in my very brief initial trial, that i was running short on realestate. if you like Reason--and people love Reason--this might not be an issue. bear in mind that i have been a long-time Tracktion user and Tracktion was one of the first (if not the first) to introduce a single window concept--that got me off of Cubase faster as fast as i could download the demo. if you are a Logic or Reaper user you'll know what i'm talking about. if you are using Sonar, Digital Performer, Cubase or Pro Tools you might actually see Record as an improvement. the sound seemed to be good but i defininately didn't give the mix bus a workout--only running a few tracks--best i can say is that it didn't stand out in either a good or bad way. i haven't listened to the Demo Song yet--looking forward to that.

interface niggles aside (i could probably learn to love it eventually--i have to say that the all-in-one console view with dynamics, eq, sends, etc. was just awsome) the main problem for me--and this is just my understanding from reading all of the initial literature available--is that you don't seem to be able to run 3rd party VST or AU plugins. let's assume they have really awsome sounding plugs of their own, they still don't have Toontrack's Superior. my only option would be to run it in Rewire standalone or in another DAW. again, i'm not positive that this is a limitation of the software--if it turns out not to be i'll edit this part out--but, if it is, it makes no sense whatsoever coming from a company associated with another company that makes VST/AU plugins (i.e. POD Farm) but i could see it because this seems like Reason with audio recording capability added and Reason does not allow 3rd party plugs either as far as I know. i think it's just too late to get into the game without allowing people to BYOPlugins.

so, has anyone else tried it? what are your thoughts?

i hope i have time to play around with it a little before the Jets play tonight.

Line 6 Pod X3 Pro Questions?

I am interested in purchasing a line 6 pod x3 Pro but have a few questions:

1) I want to use it primarily for amp modelling and recording (I live in an apartment and a cranked am isn't an option). Do you guys find that this unit is effective for that purpose?

2) How should I plug this in? I use a Mac, Logic 8, and an RME Fireface 800

3) It looks as though I could plug in two completely different guitar rigs and record them both at the same time. Is this true?

4) How well do you think it works with vocals?

5) Does it come with a computer program to edit patches? and if so do you downlad it offline or does it come with a disk? I do not have internet access on that computer, is there a way around downloading it directly, IE: download it to a flash drive and then upload it on my mac?

6) I would be using my own effect pedals. Would it be possible to plug them into an fx loop in this unit? If I were to record two different guitar setups at the same time, are there two effects loops?

I know these are a lot of questions but I greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Line 6 Spider Valve 112 XLR Direct Out to record with Cubase

I am new to home recording and need some help!

I have a Line 6 Spider Valve 112

I purchased an XLR cable to run from the XLR direct out on the back of the Amp to a Tascam US-144, the Tascam US-144 has a usb cord which runs to my PC.

I installed Cubase and the Tascam software and when I open a new project and add a new Audio track I have a problem. The display lights on the Tascam light up indicating some sort of signal is coming in from the Amp but nothing records on Cubase.

What am I doing wrong?

How should I set up the Tascam and Cubase track?

Pod xt live, m-audio audiophile 192 and audacity question

Firstly apologies for what will probably seem like a no brainer question but im very new to this and i used to be a drummer

I have managed to cobble together the above set up but i dont seem to be able to get an input signal. I have an output signal in audacity in form of a click track.

Was just wondering if any of you guys know what it could be? Is it anything in the PodXT live settings? what is the best way to connect it to an external soundcard? The soundcard in question has MIDI in/out and analogue (1/4 jack) in and out?

any help greatfully recieved

Latency issues with Pod Studio GX with ASIO Drivers on Cubase SL3

I am having major issues with latency when using my Pod Studio GX with Cubase SL3. I am using the latest ASIO drivers and have reduced the buffer size in the control panel. I have no issues when using GearBox or Pod Farm, only when using with Cubase.

I am running it on a Laptop with a Core 2 Duo processor (T6600), with 4 Gb of Memory, and running Windows 7. My Steingberg interface MI4 has no latency issues, even using Windows Vista Drivers.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Recording with UX8

Hi - I'm considering getting a UX8 as an upgrade for my Line6 UX1.

I'm trying to record a 4-person band setup at the moment and we're finding it difficult to sync and get us playing in time to one another. How we've been doiing it is by having dual line-in 1+2, and recording in pairs.

With the UX8 having the 8 line-inputs I was wondering GearBox would be able to send 4 line inputs to my recording program (Sony Acid).

At the moment under Source in Gearbox we've been using "Line 1 & 2" - I was wondering if we're using a UX8 whether there'd be an option for sometihng like "Line 1 - 4" to record us all at the same time?

Line 6 Edit

This is very basic, but I'm not sure wherelse I should've posted this, so...

When I try to download Line6 Edit, there are three parts that download. During the process, it says please make sure you're conected to the internet so that Java Runtime can download. If I wasn't connected to the internet, I wouldn't be able to begin the download in the first place. But, Java Runtime always fails to download. The other parts download, but runtime doesn't so I can't use Edit. Any tips?

By the way I have basically no experience with dowloading any kind of software, so sorry if this is really obvious

Hi, just got a few basic questions about recording,

1. When recording songs I always use (at least) two tracks for my guitar riffs, one being panned to the left and the other panned to the right. I was just wondering if you guys do this when recording with Line 6 hardware/pods ? When using effects on the guitar like delays and stuff - does this 'screw' up the sound? I mean each time you record a riff it's gonna sound a little bit different, so will the echo/effects and guitar parts be out of synch (or basically all over the place) when recording 2 tracks left/right?

2. I read that Pod X3 (which I've not tried yet) is able to simulate 2 amps at the same time, does this kind of substitute for recording one left and one right track?

Feel free to share how you record with your Line 6 hardware, I'm very interested in learning!

Line 6 Toneport UX1

1) How do I get it to work.

2) What drivers/downloads are available on the internet.

3) Any tips/tricks to using this bit of kit.

Hey i am gonna be buying a toneport kb 37 very soon, and just curious if anyone knows of any good monitoring speakers, im thinking arounf the £100/$200 area, i currently record through my tascam us-122 and use a direct feed from guitar and use amplitube, but its not sound too great so hopeing gettin this toneport will increse my sound.

Anyway yeah so what are good monitors, and also with the toneport is it possible to have the sound while im playing come through the monitors and the headphones at the same time, where as before with my old set up in cubase i would have to keep switching from my tascam us-122 back and forth to my soundcard in my pc to hear the mix through my speakers

Gearbox and Pro Tools 8

Hi, I upgraded from Pro Tools 7.4 to Pro Tools 8 on Win Vista.

I installed the Line 6 Money software, everything installed fine. It says the Gearbox is enabled.

However, it doesn't show up in Pro Tools. Previously in 7.4 it appeared under inserts. What do I need to do to get it working in Pro Tools 8 now?

MTD files to Midi

Hi all I hope I am not out of line by posting this help question but here goes. I purchased some music online from MusicNotes. It came as a mtd file that can be printed and played by their own player. I also downloaded from their site a free player for such files and with the player I can hear and watch the sheet music as it plays. Very nice. The mtd file format is a proprietary format by MusicNotes (Digital Music Sheet).

My Question now is ..... Does anyone know how I can convert this mtd file into midi so that I can load it in BIAB, Sonar or any other sequencer that would read midi files.

So again would anyone familiar with this file format know how to convert it to midi please and thank you.

Hi there. I've been using my PODXTLive as my audio interface for a while, and I'm looking to upgrade to something that is meant to be an audio interface. The Toneport UX8 boasts "ToneDirect Technology" which apparently lowers latency. I'm wondering if someone could help me out on exactly what this means. This is what I have been doing in my recording application (Propellerheads Record):

1. Create an audio track that is receiving a dry guitar signal from my guitar, which is plugged into X audio interface.

2. Add insert effects to that audio track, such as chorus, amp modeling, reverb, etc.

3. Play my guitar, and hear only the wet guitar signal (with effects).

I've been doing that with the PODXTLive, and it's been working very well, with little latency (it's slightly noticeable, but definitely not distracting in any way). However, in order to achieve this low latency, I really have to crank down the buffer setting, so while I don't have much latency while playing my guitar, I can't have much going on in the recording program before I start to get pops and clicks.

I assume that what the Toneport UX8 is boasting is the low latency that I desire, in addition to the digital headroom that I've sacrificed. But my main question is: will I get similar performance out of a comparably priced audio interface? I want to be able to play and record guitar/bass with very low latency, as well as have a lot of effects and tracks going on in my recording program, without having to keep switching the buffer settings back and forth. I just want to know if there's any benefit in getting the Toneport vs. any other comparable audio interface.

Pod X3 Live through Audio Interface

I know you can use the POD via the USB cable (I have done it) however as I run a lot of VST instruments on Cubase and load lots of tracks (drums, vocals, etc.) the POD can't really play these.

Anyway, I am planning to connect the POD directly through my M-Audio ProFire 2626. I have the following options:

LIVE OUT (left and right) -- via two 1/4" cables --> two 1/4" inputs on the audio interface. However LIVE OUT doesn't have the speaker/room simulation and a little too hot for direct recording.
DIRECT OUT (left and right) -- via two XLR leads --> two XLR inputs on the audio interface.
PHONES stereo output ---> divided into two mono 1/4" jacks ---> two 1/4" inputs on the audio interface.

So now I think I can ommit the USB and LIVE OUT options, so I am left with PHONES and DIRECT OUT. Which option would you recommend?

Hello everyone. Just picked up a POD 2.0. Prior to, I've been using GR3 and Amplitube 2 but never got the sound I was looking for, they came close but still not quite there (a bit too harsh for my liking). I tried the 2.0 for the first time and the results I'm getting are better but still just OK. My chain is quite simple - guitar, POD 2.0, Native Instruments Session I/O usb interface (which came with GR3 Session), DAW. I'm wondering if the hitting the usb interface after the POD is not enough and I should be using a mixer between the two. Anyone have any advice on this please? Thanks.

I'm new here and I have a few questions about starting up with my Line 6 setup. I've had this Line 6 PODxt Pro sitting around for years now and decided to finally dive head first into it. I've recently gotten into hip-hop/pop production and was looking to add some spice to my tracks via amp modeling. I have a Mac G5 and I'm currently running Reason as my main work station. I'm also in the process of converting to Logic from Pro Tools.

1) Is there a way for me to use my Line 6 with Reason? I am familar with Propellerhead's new Record software but that would basically be the same as using my POD though Logic or Pro Tools correct? I was just wondering if there were any interesting ways of combining my POD with Reason.

2) I've tried to wrap my head around this GearBox and PodFarm thing. Are these basically interfaces to control my hardware or are they more than that? I read somewhere that PodFarm is taking the place of GearBox but PodFarm isn't compatible with my PODxt Pro. Why is that?

3) What is the difference between using PodFarm as a Plug-in and as Standalone? I can't use PodFarm in standalone mode with my PODxt Pro but I can use it as a plug-in. What does that mean?

4) Is anyone running a similar set up as mine that some tip to get me started?

Using a UX2 to record drums?

This probably seems like a stupid question, but whats the best way to record drums with my UX2? Obviously it can only record/send 2 inputs to my DAW, so should I mix them with my Behinger mixer first, then send 2 inputs into the UX2 and then to my recording software? or is there any better way to get all my drum mics into seperate tracks in my session? Or will the UX2 just not work for recording my entire kits mics?

Just trying to get the best drum sound I can.

Hi everyone. I just purchased an X3 Pro, and was looking for some help on how to get the best quality DI recordings out of it. I know I can do the USB recording, but I was thinking I that would probably get a better DI guitar sound if I ran one of the 1/4" live outs into my Duet's input and then did some minor post production on the recording in Logic 8.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Does the X3 send a stereo signal out, should I be using both live outs if I record in this way? Does using USB vs the live outs cause any noticble difference in sound or recording quality?

To anyone who may have a clue about this predicament, including Line 6 consultants, I would truly appreciate a leg up. After accepting the latest Gearbox 3.7 upgrade, I opened it and everything played just fine, except that when I went to record in Logic Pro 8, Garage Band '08, or Ableton Live 5, I got a totally dead response from all of them. No input signals! The UV meters on my UX2 won't even move (physically or on-screen). All the applicable preference tabs have been set for the UX2, which I'm monitoring through of course, and all the recording modes activated. I've got the Gearbox input on INSTRUMENT, all mute buttons are OFF, and the input tab is set for SEND 1-2. Like I stated, the things sounds as awesome as ever, but I just can't get a signal into any of the recording software. Before, the meters would always jump even when just jamming through GearBox alone. Why would they be still now? Never had this problem with any other version. Should I go back to 3.64? Maybe there's a quick fix that I'm overlooking. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Thanks for all concern in this matter....

I just started messing around with using the POD as a USB recording interface and was wondering if folks have any good patches. I'm running an XLR DI signal from my JSX half-stack cabinet into the mic input on the POD. I've initially used some of the factory bass DI patches without all the EQ, etc and the tone is fundamentally there but could use some tweaking in the EQ department. Does anyone use a similar setup or have experience with the best way to maximize a good guitar tone with this method?

For Christmas I want an expression pedal that works with Gear Box!

OK, Line6, I like my Tone Port DI and it works pretty good, but as a guitar player I crave a working wah pedal with Gear Box. I've played around with the StealthPedal but frankly it's not playing nice with my DAW.

Is there any expression pedals in the works for Gear Box? I can wait a few months if I have to! I know there is a Berringer device but I really want something that is made for Gear Box and will plug/play out of the box. I hate fiddling!

So, I have a UX8 (which I'm very happy with by the way), I run Windows 7, and I use Sonar 7 and everything works great. I also have an older Delta 1010, which I don't use since getting the UX8.

It is my understand that you can't use more than 1 UX8 at a time, and I'm looking to add more inputs to my system. I am possibly looking at either another hardware IO piece + a control surface (e.g. Motu 24IO & Mackie Univeral + Expanders) . . . or just perhaps a mixing board type solution (e.g. Tascam DM-3200).

Anyone have any thoughts or comments on this? I love to know if someone else is using more than just the 8 input, what you are using and how well it works with the UX8.

How do you get a direct tone from the TonePort UX1?

It seems I've tried everything, but no matter what I do the TonePort is messing with my signal... I have Gearbox set to no amp, no cab, all pedals off, gate off... Everything off and I still don't hear my signal come through like I do when I listen direct through headphones w/o using the TonePort. Same goes with a direct clean signal... the TonePort makes my acoustic guitar (Yamaha CPX700) sound like an electric.

So, I guess I'm asking for help... I'd like to get a true direct tone with no coloration. Is this possible with the TonePort? I have the 1st generation TonePort with Gearbox if that makes a difference.

By the way, my dirty signal chain goes like this:

Guitar -> Boss TU2 -> Peavey Max 100 -> Big Muff -> TonePort

Clean goes straight from the guitar to the TonePort

for what i see on the rear panel of each effect i have:

SDD has midi but not seems have a real send/return unit

A3 has midi but not seems have a real send/return unit

M13 have both and the Vox have the rear inputs for send and return system

I wish i connect all the system in order to control in a unique way (better using the midi system of M13) the other 2 effects and create a chain that sounds good, loosing less sound possible.

Sound dropouts when working with UX2 and Windows 7

I just bought and installed POD farm on my laptop today.My laptop is 2 weeks old, and runs Windows 7. As soon as i plug in my guitar (Fender Strat) I notice dat the sound drops out on my headphones. when i play it keeps dropping out and coming back up again. almost like a killswitch sound. The same thing happens when play a file from windows mediaplayer. very strange. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem? I downloaded the newest version driver software, but that did'nt work either...

fitting out for other guitarists - pod or amp?

I have a decent small studio doing corporate videos and am now moving into audio a bit more.

I am just commencing adding a drum booth of about a little under 2 m square adjacent to an existing isolation room of 2.5m x 3.6m.

That means moving drums out of this larger room will give more elbow room for the odd band that comes in.

However many of the amps that they feel driven to bring along are, well, to put politely, better left at home.

If i provide an amp, at least i have some control in the output quality before it hits my DAW. While i'm not up to making the purchase yet, while i'm doing the partitioning, cabliing and double glazing between the two areas i'd like to know a few things ahead of time.

It comes down to Pod or Amp with modelling. I've pretty well settled on the Line 6 range, not because its cheap and i'm a skinflint, but because its price point is accessible to most other guitarists out there. I've had one or two come through with Line 6 stuff - though i can't remember what models. And that means the likelyhood is higher that that they are familiar and comfortable with the gear.

As my $$ aren't limitless i thought of getting a Pod, and for amplification use the pair of powered reference monitors ( bought close together ) so they simulate a regular cabinet, rather than left spread apart for when i do mastering in that room. That way things are able to do double duty when guitarists aren't in.

However providing the full amp in a single independent unit - maybe a spidervalve 212 - may be more agreeable to guitarists by having the immediacy of knobs to play with, rather than little rubber buttons, small screen with menus etc. I don't know, maybe the bean thing isn't a problem if its become part of guitar culture of the last decade. I'm only an occasional guitarist, and spend more time behind keyboards.

sorry to take so long in asking the question, but if i lay out all my thinking maybe someone here can tell what will be the most useful to my clients. or put another way, what would present least unfamiliarity.

I've been recording in Cubase 3.x for some time... might move up to 5 soon. I usually record from my Pod XT Live and Vocals, etc. using the Toneport UX2. Beautiful devices.

Anyhow I'm looking at getting a Pod X3 Live.

Is it somehow possible to plug more than one line6 device into my laptop at one time for simultaneous use in Cubase? I seem to be able to use 2 of other types of devices...

POD Farm does not recognize UX2 - Mac OSX Leopard (not Snow Leopard) on a 24" iMac

Whenever I launch the UX2 / PodFarm, it does not recognize the UX2. When I quit and launch it a second time, everything is OK.

The same happens when I use it as a Logic Studio Plug-in. It does not see the UX2. When I close the project, and open it again, there is no problem.

POD Studio™ UX2

UX8 with Garageband VS. Logic?

Hello, I have a toneport UX8 running on a MacBook Pro 2.4ghz with 2gb RAM. I have been fiddling with GarageBand but I am unhappy with the latency I gt when monitoring out of GarageBand. The latency is quite a bit better if I monitor using the stand alone Pod Farm app and record using the clean send (ch11&12) from pod farm, then I apply pod farm to the clean recording using the pod farm pluton in GarageBand. Doing this is much better because of tone direct monitoring by line6, however I still find the latency a bit much.

Now I know logic studio 9 claims to have a better engine to reduce latency. If anyone here has logic 9, could you confirm how monitorig in logic compares to monitoring in GarageBand? If it really is better, how does the latency when monitoring in logic compare to line6's tonedirect monitoring in pod farm? I would really like to have the option to monitor in logic with with at least as low latency as pod farm's tonedirect monitoring, and the reason I am asking is because I do not want to pay $500 for logic studio and find out that it's not much better than GarageBand.

Lastly, I can also upgrade my ram from 2gb to 4gb, and my OS from leopard to snow lpard. From your experience how much (if any) will this help with latency? Thank you in advance! Jesse

PODFarm loses modelpacks.

My PODFarm plugin was working fine, until I got the free iLok license. Now, I'm missing all my modelpacks when I use the PODFarm plugin. I was assuming that having my POD XT on would make PODFarm "override" the iLok and use the POD as its dongle... it seems it's not the case. How do I get the model packs back into PODFarm? Do I have to delete the license from my iLok? (That would really suck...).

PODxt Re-amping Studio Setup

Hi guys,

I've been playing around with my PODxt for a while, and am really loving the sounds. I've also recently fallen in love with the idea of re-amping but I'm starting to wonder now whether or not the PODxt can actually do what I would want it to do and whether I'd be better off with a strictly software setup like Guitar Rig or X-Gear.

If I'm working on a project with, say, 2 guitar tracks and a bass track, and I'm interested in real-time re-amping all 3 tracks, can I do that all with the PODxt (send 3 dry tracks to it, and have them routed through 3 presets and back to my DAW)? Or can you only "re-amp" one live signal at a time with the PODxt? It seems very straightforward to just add an software plugin insert like Guitar Rig for each dry track, but that can get a bit heavy on the CPU usage so I'm trying to figure out if there is a smarter way to do it using my POD or whether I should sell the POD and just buy a completely software-based solution. It'd be an amazing piece of hardware if I could offload the CPU burden of multiple inserts to my PODxt. Anyone know if that's possible?

My sound is chunked. Looks like driver won't let me switch the Hz Format in "AUDI-MIDI Setup"

If i try to play an MP3 through Garageband or logic the sound is also chunked.

Anyone got the same Problems?

Hi there. I want to record vocal and acoustic guitar together to put down the basic tracks for some recording of my own songs but I am not sure I can actually do this with the kit I have, and am not currently flush enough to be buying any new gear. Multi Tracking seems to get in the way of the songwriting thing. I have a Toneport UX1 and am recording into Garageband 8 on a Macbook. The acoustics I own have no built in pick ups but I can use a magnetic pup on them if I really have to. I have a standard vocal mic that works fine recording standard multi track electric stuff. Any help/advice gratefully received.

Pod Farm doesn´t see my line6 Pod Xt Pro

Hi all !

I downloaded, installed and activated the Free Pod Farm using Mac OS X operating system. I load insert the plug-in in Reaper. No hassle.

When I switch to Windows XP x64 and insert the plug-in in Reaper or use Pod Farm as stand-alone, is says there´s no line6 device connected to the computer.

Any thoughts ?

hi, i had loads of decent distortion and clean sounds on my pod x3, but since my trial period ran out on guitar port it seems to have taken all the tones off my pod aswell.

So is there somewhere than i can manualy copy amp/cabs/pedal settings etc. ?? i had a really good trivium tone that i loved and now miss.

I just change my explotation system from Vista...back to XP...on my pc and when I try to reactivate my extension plugin for UX1( pack - classic & funky) with monkey software, the system don't authorize me cause alreary activate...ok yes, but, how can I REactivate !

Basspod too old?

I'm recently re-discovering my basspod.

Now I wanted to try to hook it up to Fruity Loops with a midi/usb cable.

Somehow the pod wil not send or receive any data, I checked all over the internet to try to find out what's wrong.

Also Line 6 doesn't support my bass pod anymore, that also makes things nearly impossible.

I've done everything to check where the problem may lie, I kept switch the in and out, flipping the AIR switch, in MIDI mode A or just a channel.

I also did a check on the cable the drivers are installed properly and the USB side makes connection to the MIDI adapter/splitter.

The USB light is on (red) and the central green light is not, on occasion the MIDI light (blue) flickers but does not stay on..

I downloaded SoundDiver, I tried Guitar Pro and even tried MIDI-OX to see if I could connect my Bass pod.

Nothing happened, only the USB light that burns, MIDI-OX did show send and return activity but very minimal, so there must be something there.

Should I abandon all hope to ever be able to connect my poor old Bass pod to a PC? Will it even be able to run under Vista? I can't try on XP 'cause I only have one computer, a laptop.

Is there even a patch available to integrate the old pod into a new existence? I don't have money to buy a new pod and I feel it's a waste to disgard this one, it works without a single glitch.

So what can I do, or can I even do anything at all? Is there even a firmware upgrade availble for my Bass pod.

System:

Laptop.

2 GB Ram memory

140 GB HDD + 250 GB HDD via USB completely free for use!

Vista Home basic

Drivers are all up to date, and I do mean all

Got the latest Vista servicepack

Bass Pod bought around the year 2000 so I have the first version.

MIDI in and out

AIR switch

AMP output

D.I. output

MIDI cable to USB via adapter/splitter so it's not without a signal transformer.

Driver to this cable is up to date, there is no later version available.

How do you record with your POD?

Hello,

I've got a question on how to set up a POD for recording. A POD emulates an amp, effects, and a cabinet. That's fine if you listen to it with a headphones. Once you make it loud and connect to a real cabinet, that cabinet affects the sound you get. Once you plug your POD directly to a recording equipment, you exclude the real cabinet, so the sound will inevitably differ from what you have heard. Could you share your experience on how to deal with the problem?

Cant get Ambleton live to recognise 2 seperate inputs from ux2!

I just bought the ux2 pod which bundles with Ambleton live Lite software.

I setup the pod and managed to get it to recognise my guitar and mic as seperate inputs, thats fine.

But when i attempt to record in Live Lite i can only get it to show activity from one of the inputs!

Not sure where i have gone wrong!! It must be something simple i'm sure!!

Any help is mucho appreciated!

Hoping that my fellow line 6 users will point me in the direction of where i can collect information ( published books, interviews, mags etc ) of the growing use of amp sims especially in the pro recording market. Any song releases where sims were used. Also, in a live concert situation where a laptop may be used running amp sim software.
Published opinions or interviews from musicians and engineers are all welcome. I am in need of reference material for a major uni assignment, although this is a point of interest to me regardless of the task. tnx in advance.

I'm really surprised people haven't flocked here to list all their gear and show photos of their setups - judging from the popularity that a certain thread had in the old lounge.

Anyway, this is my setup - more or less. The photos are a bit dated as the Gk3 is not shown, and an old Sony CRT is shown which has since been trashed and replaced with a Flatscreen

I've a custom built Pentium-4 3.2 GHz FSB800 PC (on the right of the desk) with 2 GB Ram on a P5GD1 PCI Express ASUS MotherBoard, AMI BIOs , a NVideo 6600 Dual monitor Graphic card, HP DVD/CD Lightscribe, SATA Drives - 80GB System disk (partitioned: 50GB System, 20GB User, 10GB Temp), 200 GB Audio/Video/Library project disk(3 partitions), 200 GB Backup and 40GB Off Line Archive on Firewire plus a 1 TB Archive disk on USB2. This PC is outfitted with an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro audio card and external Breakout box. A secondary mouse input is installed in the form of a Wacom Graphic Tablet which I find unbeatable for waveform editing as well as any number of other things.

This PC constitues my DAW and runs only Cubase 5, Cubasis 5, MCL2008 and Clean 5 as well as Line 6 Edit, Gearbox, monkey (Internet access can be plugged in when required) and various AV related applets and utilities.

There's a second older PC (Left side) Pentium III 800 MHz used for office apps and internet. This shares the main monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. This also has an 80 GB external drive on Firewire which can be switched over to the DAW (the 1 TB Drive can of course also be shared) for large file transfers. This PC is outfitted with an Audigy 4 soundcard (primarily to allow surround sound when playing DVDs)

A third very old PC - Pentium 166 Mhz has been outfitted with 5.25" and 3.5" floppies, Zip Disk (100/200) DVD/CD Dirve, and Colorado Tape Drive, and serves as an archive retrieval (hence the various medium drives). This is also used for 6502 microprocessor emulation for writing program code for the PAIA synth.

I'll not mention the Laptop.

My sole guitar is a Variax 300 in 3-tone sunburst. This has further been outfitted with a Roland GK3 pickup which controls a GR20 Guitarsynth. The digital cable from the Vax usually plugs into a POD XT Live with additional external pedal.

An "antique" PAIA P4700J Analog Modular Synthesizer (think Moog) is often used in combination with custom written software control programs. Otherwise most keyboard work is done with VSTi's and performed using a Roland PC180A MIDI Keyboard controller.

Percussion is done in MIDI with various VSTi's and generally performed using a Yamaha DD-55c Digital Drum kit.

Vocals and any other realworld audio is captured using a CAD GXL3000 and 2 GXL1200 condenser microphones. I also have an old dynamic mic (Mfg unknown) which I bought back in the 60's. I intend to supplement these with a Shure SM-57 soon.

The various instruments and mics are input to the system in various ways depending on what I'm doing, using the 3 Audigy inputs. Most often however I feed them into a Soundcraft Compact 4 mixer which is in turn plugged into the Line In 3 of the Audigy. The first two channels of the mixer have send/returns to a Behringer MDX2600 expander/compressor on the insert loops, as well as the necessary Phantom power for the mics. There is also a Hi-Z switch on one channel so it performs as a DI. The Compact 4 also handles the audio out from the Audigy (FL/FR) into the monitor speakers.

Currently I'm using APart SDX5P Studio Monitors but intend soon to change over to Behringer B2031A's. A Cambridge 7.1 surround loudspeaker system (currently on the older PC) will be switcheable for doing 6 channel audio work in the future.

... oh, lest I forget... of course... the mandatory LAVA Lamp!

Toneport UX1 through Laptop?

Hey Guys-

I just picked up a Toneport UX1 and loaded all the drivers, etc. When I plug in a guitar, I get nothing through the speakers on my laptop. When I plug headphones into the jack on the TPort, I get sound. Should I be able to play through my Laptop speakers without headphones? Thoughts on how to remedy?

Hi there, Can you help me out? I have downloaded Gearbox and I have a USB connection with my POD X3 Live that seems to work. But no, I can't get any sound via my PC speaker set. In Windows I see: Programs->Line 6->Tools but no Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices. I have reinstalled Gearbox and I uploaded the most recent drivers via Monkey. Why don't I see the Audio-Midi part?

Pod Farm Re-Amping Automation?

Greetings, I'm still relatively new to using Reaper and the Pod Farm plugin, but am starting to get the hang of the basics. One thing I've been learning about is automation, especially creating volume envelopes for faders and final mixing.

My question is: how can I automate Pod Farm plugin parameters. For example, lets say I want to turn a delay on for just one part of the song? One obvious way would be to have separate tracks, one for the delay part and one without, however this seems like more of a hack workaround for what I'm trying to do. I've read the section of the Reaper manual that talks about automating FX, but this doesn't seem to answer my question.

I realize this may be more of a Reaper question than a Line 6 question, which is why this is merely a crosspost from the Reaper forums. Thanks in advance for any help.

Recording wet and dry signals with POD X3

Anybody knows how to do this ?

I am recording to protools with a POD X3, using a stereo signal and going through a pair of preamps (one for each channel). I want to use the delays from the POD X3, but I want to be able to manipulate the mix of the dry signal and the delay. I can use 1 channel for the dry signal, but the delay is stereo, so it would be 3 channels, 1 for the dry sound and 2 just for the delay, then in the mix I could adjust how much delay I want.

Any ideas ?

Problem recording bass with Pod GX in Garage band

I have noticed when I record the bass track in Garage band I can't use the Pod Farm presets, or at least I don't know how to use them. When I record guitar tracks tere's no problem, but when I record the bass if I select the Garage Band preset on the track, the sound is really lame.

Anyone knows how to fix it? Am I missing something?

I have a Podxt- Pro and i am using it in Cubase5 with the PODFARM plugin (works great!!).

I am looking for a footcontroller to switch stompboxes in PODFARM........is this posible with the FBV SHORTBOARD™ MkII??

If it doesn't suppport it i will not buy it because i am not using the podxt-pro for making the sounds i only use it in Cubase5 with the PODFARM software to create my sound within the mix of the song.

Help recording with Vista and Acid pro

I'm using a pocket pod express, windows vista home, and Acid pro 6.0. the problem i'm having is i want to track some guitar idea and save them for later... When i plug my pod into the line in on my sony vaio (VGN-FW351J) i can't not hear anything i'm playing, the mic input registers like it's hearing my guitar/pod but over the speakers and head phones i can not hear the track i hear the drums i recorded earlier with ezdrummer and fruity loops XXL but not the guitar i'm trying to lay over top of it. it's got to be a stupid setting i'm over looking, thanks for the time and i hope someone can help!

Gearbox and Ableton

Hi, I am trying to get gearbox/guitarport to run through a demo of ableton.

The vst file is in the appropriate folder.

I can open the gearbox vst plug-in and gearbox comes up while in ableton, but I hear no sound.

Gearbox works fine while running stand alone.

I have messed about with the input/output things in the preference tab.

When I set up some midi notes with a synth and while having guitar port as the output, I hear sound through the guitar port.

Can anybody help me?

I apologise for asking a question that's probably been answered before. I've been away from the forum for a while and I haven't got my head around this new forum layout yet.

I'm using an X3 as my audio interface. I've also got a UX1 hanging around. For the UX1, I've previously purchased all the model packs and the Gearbox VST.

I currently use the standalone Gearbox interface for my X3 and I use Podfarm for the VST plug-in with my DAW host. What I need is the same interface as standalone and as a VST. Is this possible? It's confusing swapping between GUI's.

I can't use the Podfarm as an interface for my X3 and I can't use the Gearbox VST with my X3. Is either possible to allow me to have a common GUI? I don't mind which, I just want the standalone and the VST GUI's to be the same.

I tried attaching my UX1 as (effectively) a dongle so that I could use the Gearbox VST. That way I've got the Gearbox standalone as the interface for my X3 and the UX1 allows me to use the Gearbox VST. The trouble is, using things in this way, my DAW doesn't automatically load the Gearbox VST settings, so I have to load them each time. Also, its a pain having two USB ports used up by the Line 6 devices. I really want a common standalone interface and VST interface with my X3.

I know about the transfer process but I can't see a way of transfering the Gearbox VST from my UX1 to my X3. If it's possible, could someone spell out how to do it in simple terms.

Any thoughts?

Monkey Freezes When Searching for All Devices...

Hello,

for a while now, I suspect since I purchased and installed PODFarm Monkey will not start. It gets to the 'searching for all devices...', the progress bar moves most of the way across and then I have to force quit, otherwise Monkey will just sit there doing nothing. I have managed to bodge around this by installing all the updates by hand and I have not bothered with it as I assumed it would go away with an update to Monkey (which I try to install every now and then, to no avail).

The most recent versio reported on the splash screen which shows behind the 'seaching for all devices...' dialogue box is 1.31. Clicking on the cancel button in the dialogue does nothing.

This is a rather annoying thing, is there any solution? I am using a Variax 500 and POD XT Live.

Hi everybody:

I have a question about the function of the tube drive in gearbox and pod farm. While with almost all Dist/OD I tried, it is possible to set the drive at 0 and still have a good level of the signal with gain at 50%, with the tube drive, a Drive of 0 give me a very, very, very low signal. I.e. If I set the muff pi gain at 50% and the drive at 0 I have a good level, If I change to Rat, the behavior is the same, but with the tube drive, I have to set the drive at least at 50% to have the same level. As I never have had a real Tube drive, I don't know if this is normal or a bug.

Hey, Im running A mac (Mac OS X 10.5.8) With a Toneport UX8. When i purchased It I was told I could go into cubase (Le4) and use the plugin for each track... This way I could plug in a a guitar , bass, and vocals, and have custom tones and effects on each one, all recording simutaneously. And that i can change the affects/tone after the signal is recorded. I have gearbox working fine but I need to record with it, and I cant get the plug ins to work in Cubase. I read that the Gear box plug in may not be supported by mac due to some VST thing? What can I do here? use a different recording interface? will Ableton live lite 4 work?

At-home & live setups - need help

Let's get something out of the way: I am a gear/recording newbie. I have played guitar for a few years and have played live, but I just don't have the knowledge on a good at-home recording setup or live performance setup using my KB37.

=At-Home=

Here is my current setup:

-Plug my axe directly into the guitar input jack on my KB37

-The USB line plugs into the KB37 and goes into my computer

-Sound out comes from my headphones plugged directly into the KB37

-POD Farm software utilized

Instead of using headphones all the time, I would like to connect my Peavey combo amplifier into the KB37 so I can listen to my sound that way. Is this a good idea or is there a better way to listen to my playing without using headphones? Also of note, I will be picking up a DAW soon for the recording side of things.

=Live Performance=

I would like to be able to use my KB37 and POD Farm at a live show by connecting it to my laptop and then sending/amplifying my sound from the KB37 some way. Can I get away with something like this? Would I simply send my signal from the KB37 to my amplifier? Do I need a DAW on top of it all to make it happen?

Hey guys, I need some help here. I recently bought a pod X3, really, love the thing.

I'm using it to record my music together with FL Studio and things...

Just one problem...I can't get the vocals right...it's not filtered right.

I make metal, so a lot of grunts and screams going on, does somebody have any hints, tips or tricks?

Like wich amp, mod or things like that should I use?

I have recently installed the Pod Farm Plugin for Cubase.....after ome messing around, I was able to get it running. I have also purchased ALL of the model packs. So far the plugin shows all of them no problem, and runs fine, however, I cannot seem to get the standalone version to see the model packs I have purchased. Does it mean that I have to purchase model packs to run in stand alone??

Just got my Floor Pod today. No USB but i have a 1/4" connection with a USB at the end so I can connect and the software is picking up the sounds but it won't play back. It has been nothing but trouble trying to record with my new laptop. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work or suggestions for a different type of connection. I don't think my sound card has an audio input, just the microphone and dual headphones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i download with the monkey line6 the riffwork and i installed in normal way from, here im fine.

i plug my pod x3 live by way of usb but i dont have any sound in may pc appears which sound in the screen but i don hear anything, (i have a 5.1 home theater home i dont know which i need pro studio speakers)

its say which y need go to the audio setup and configure the asio device but a see im already have the asio which comes with the podx3live(pc conf.)

i need help please someone help my with this

Problem with Gearbox / Toneport GX

I just got a new computer that i want to use for recording, I got Toneport GX and use Gearbox with it.

I installed gearbox and a recording program on my computer ( Ableton live 7.0.3). The sound is okey

but disappear for less than a second very often and when i use the metronome on Live i can clearly

hear that it's lagging and not following the rythm at all! (When i play it throught the gearbox, when i

not use the ASIO drivers it work fine)

Work on an old laptop i got with version 3.20 of gearbox but not on my new with the newest version

i found. The 3.20 version i got from a CD with the gearbox.

Anyone here who have had this problem ? help me please!

pod farm platinum, help is needed...

I bought the toneport UX2 about 2 months ago and was pleasantly surprised that it came with the pod farm. Since then I've been spending hours and hours doodling round with it.

I decided to upgrade it to the Pod Farm Platinum, so yesterday I went out to the local music store and bought it....and now's the tricky part....

I followed all the steps printed on the instructions booklet, i.e. setting up an ilok account, entering the authorization code etc etc. I was then prompted by the ilok website that i need to purchase the iLok usb device to complete the setup. I've placed an order for the usb device and hopefully i can properly install the pod farm platinum when it arrives.

i'm a guitarist and not so much of a computer wiz, can anyone tell me what this iLok thing is about? anyone had similar experience with the pod farm platinum?

Problems Recording bass

I have a Bass Pod Xt and have a problem with low volume and dull tone.

My bass is a Schecter C5 with EMG 40P5 and 40J pickups, and sounds wonderful through my amp, but recording, its just quiet and muddy. I crank the volume up in Ableton Live (7) up as high as I can without clipping, and still its muddy and no way near as loud as a guitar (Schecter Hellraiser with EMG 81 set) through a Pod Xt Live.

What can I do to make this better? Any tips on getting a great bass sound. I like to use allot of fuzz and overdrive, how can I mix this in?
