Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

Hello

I am getting to know my JM4, Lets say a I Pre record a Loop with my JM4 Prior to my performance,

First question, Where do I store the loop? and How do I retrieve it? I may want to use more than one during a performance.

Second question Say  I play a fairly clean and dry tone for the Loop, But I want a dirty tone for my lead, Can I assign

that patch or Amp model to the footswitch? so I don't have to bend down and turn the knob, How do I assign My Favorite

tones to the far right footswitch?  Next Level Control I notice there are a Two Channels out, Can I send Rhtyhm ( my Loop) to one channes say right,

and my Lead to another say left so the Board can control my volume of each channel or does my Mix go out just in one channel? I hope some one

can answer these questions, Regardless this is a great machine I love it so far,

Troy

The loop is stored in internal memory. You have about 24 minutes of recording time which increases to about 30 minutes if you delete the Demo songs.

You can back up your recordings to SD card but you can't stream directly from the card, you have to reload the songs into memory. It takes a minute or so to reload the contents of an SD card into internal memory depending on the speed of your SD card. Faster SD card cost a little more than regular ones but don't be tempted to go for one over 2Gig as it won't work. A 2Gig card will hold many hours of songs.

Second question Say  I play a fairly clean and dry tone for the Loop, But I want a dirty tone for my lead, Can I assign

You don't say which footswitch you have?

What you have to do is save your tones as a custom presets. You can access custom tones from the footswiches on an FBV Express (only four at a time) or FBV Shortboard (all)

Next Level Control I notice there are a Two Channels out, Can I send Rhtyhm ( my Loop) to one channes say right,

and my Lead to another say left so the Board can control my volume of each channel or does my Mix go out just in one channel?

The JM4 only works in MONO so both channels have the same signal.

Re: Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

The far right switch allows you to toggle the footswitch assignments to different modes of function.

1. Loop FX Mode

2. Record Select Mode

3. Guitar Preset Mode (this assigns A & B to go up/down between Preset Tones)

4. Guitar Amp/FX Mode

Re: Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

Troy,

Using the info that Perry provided above, you will need to press the far right footswitch until it displays Guitar Preset Mode, in which the A & b buttons allow you to navigate up and down the preset you have stored.

So, save the presets you want to use next to each other, go into Guitar Preset Mode, and use the A and B buttons to select the next patch.

Re: Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

Troy,

You can only bank up and down through the USER presets on the JM4 looper. I pulled this directly from the manual:

You can store your current settings to one of the 36 User preset locations as follows:

Press the • Save button.

Turn the • Select knob to highlight Save Guitar Tone.

Press • Right on the 4-way button. If you’ve modified a User preset, you’ll be taken to that User preset location. If you’ve modified any other preset, you’ll go to User preset location 1A.

Turn the • Select knob to select the User preset location you want to store to.

Press • Right on the 4-way button.

JM4 Looper the FX Processor

3•3

If you want to rename the new preset, use • Left/Right on the 4-way button to pick a character and the Select knob to change that character.

Press • Down on the 4-way button to save, or press the Song, Level, or Tone buttons to cancel.

The settings of all the knobs in the amp/effects control panel will be saved, as well • as the current tapped delay tempo.

This was in page 3.2 and 3.3 of the JM4 Looper's manual. Please go over the manual to get further acquainted with the features of the pedal.

Re: Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

Troy,

Try saving a preset like it is described in my post above. It will take a snapshot of your knob settings for the amp model, drive, EQ, volume, and the effects you choose and save them in a USER preset location that you choose.

Create a preset, save it, and look for it in the USER location. It is the only location you can save your presets to. All of the other presets (song, artist, etc.) are made up of different combinations of the same knob settings, but when you save a preset, it will ONLY be saved in the USER banks.

RE: Jaming to a pre-recorde loop at open mic,

Troy,

The Artist presets are sounds that are made up of the amp models and effects that are built into the JM4 Looper and dialed in by the artists themselves.
