Activation Issues Guitarport/Vista

Second try--I guess I didn't mark this as a question the first time...

Have just received Guitarport--it will not install on Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  The install CD stops after I OK the licensing agreement.  I have searched forums for solution with no luck.  I have tried to run in as Administrator and in compatibility mode.  I have downloaded the latest Line 6 Monkey version 1.31 and the latest drivers for Guitarport.  I have registered it online.  I have done everything I can think of but it still will not install.  I know others have had this issue, so there must be a solution but I haven't seen it yet.  What am I missing?  I'd rather not pay that money for a cute red plastic box and a useless CD...

BTW, I tried it on my laptop running XP and the installation begins properly.  Problem is, I don't want it on laptop (crummy sound).  So this is apparently a Vista problem, but it seems someone would have figured out a solution by now.

All Line 6 Monkey and Gearbox software is up-to-date.

Tapp1300,

When did you purchase the Guitarport hardware?  Does it say Rifftracker on it and did it come in a green box?  Was this purchased new or used?

Re: Activation Issues Guitarport/Vista

I got a line6 guitarport back in 2006 then purchased line6 riffworks from the site.

I downloaded the guitarport+riffworks bundle and have used it ever since to install when i've formatted windows XP 32. When i moved to windows 7 i had exactly the same problem.

I'd get maybe 2 or 3 clicks of next> through the install setup then it would just crash.

Problem solved by downloading the line6 monkey (the one compatible with windows 7), The latest gearbox and riffworks for vista. All working fine after a few buffer tweaks.

Sounds like you tried all of the things i did though.
