Snow Leopard automatically installs a new version of Java. Try uninstalling Workbench and Java and then just reinstall Workbench and let the Workbench installer install the version of Java it wants. After that you can update the Java on your Mac and it should work although Snow Leopard is officially not supported yet so I cannot guarantee that it will.

There's a little trick for 10.6 and Java.
Go to Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences. Open that one and in General, drag 32 bits on top of 64 bits. I was able to open Workbench now. But I don't have the guitar with me, so I can't confirm that it actually connects and works.
Check it out and let us know. Try Line6 Edit as well.
Cheers
