on the first yellow screen that comes up click on continue on the next screen the large white one click on add then you will get the small white one ive moved it to the side in the attatched photo theres a tiny box toard the bottom that says off line mode click on that and you should be in. leave it to the programmers to make things difficult. took me a few trys to figure this out too ![]()
i dont know that you can load them to the pod workbench is for the variax only. remember the pod is just a connection in this case
if you dont have one of the pod live setups, your out of luck, and line6 couldnt care less about helping you, because your on 64 bit.
yes id like to chime in on that because that does seem to be the case. kinda makes you wonder what they wont care about in the future doesnt it ? have youseen the new apple commercial where the windows guy goes back in time through the versions and says you wont have the trouble with this like last time. i think line 6 could do a commercial that says " after weve got your money............... addyour own ending . mine would be then tough luck.
any ideas?
remember the seinfeld episode with the soup nazi. that would be a great commercial. need a driver too bad NO DRIVER FOR YOU!!!!
come back ten year
or how bout a guy with a banner behind him that says you havent kissed our a#$@S enough yet . then he can explane why theres no support for 64 bit workbench.
he would probably say " to tell the truth we just want to sell you something ........... more expensive"
just my thoughts on the subject at the moment.
anyone else have any thoughts on this ?
i think lewis black should be doing this commercial
I have got a 600 and use it Workbench, Pod x3 live on a vista 64-bit laptop without any problems.
well ive been chasing them for some time now and it goes back to the old forum and add the fact that they have outright said they have no plans to do a thing about it........ well i take that as a hearty f$#k y#u on there part. but thats just me .
like ive already said what wont work in the future . will they have this attitude still?
maybe so but there aparently happy with the ammount of business that there doing ... even in this recession.
Okay. it's been a few weeks now, and although I can access workbench through my pod xt live, I'm finding it a freakin' pain to haul it out, just so I can change/load tunings on my variax..I have the guitar port for home use, and the xt is just for when I go out jamming, and is normally put away.
Had Line6 simply addressed their driver issue, they would of got another sale off me because I would of purchased the hardware interface still.
Whether they care or not, they are really hurting themselves sales wise.
Another bone of contention is the fact that they un-apologetically don't make lefies on the variaxes..I lucked out finding a used 500 variax online, but I would of bought an acoustic down the road. But that is for another topic.
your right but in your case you already have the other stuff they want to sell so the workbench hardware is the extra in your case but in most cases thats the start and then the next step is a pod or xt.
as far as a lefty acoustic. i guess they dont feel theres enough of a market to be worth there making them. the variax is a neche guitar . if it sold like a strat or a les paul. they wouldnt be looking to go to the variax 2. thats not to take away from it though and yeah i know james taylor and jo blow from idaho play one. but the bottom line is its foe a certain group. that is the group that would like to have a rack of electrics another rack of acoustics and a rack of this that and the other but that guy works for a living so the closest he gonna get is a variax.
this isnt to say its not a nice guitar ...it is . but you have to ask yourself given the choice and the money would you buy the variax. or would you buy the real thing. its really the same question with all the big names as well. why buy a epiphone when you can have a gibson. why have a mexican strat when you can have an american standard and so on.
so in my opinion what arent they making a lefty.... because as it is you dont see a variax of any kind in most guitar stores. and leftys as a rule of any kind tend to sit on the shelf. or rack. so having tryed it ( ive seen a few oldr ones) they dont consider it to be worth the expense of tooling up to cut the bodies and necks and reverse the electronics.
ewre there acoustics not cutaway it would be a simple job to reverse everything. same with the cut on the electric body were it cut like an sg instead of a strat. then reversing it would be simple.
change out the nut and flip the ribbon wire in the bridge for the electrics. you have a lefty acoustic. on the hard body ones put in a lefty trem flip the ribbon wire and put the controls on the other side.
an easy enough transplant into a lefty body .
they want to be a dominant guitar maker with the next one... thats probably why it will be a while before you see it . they brought in rich renkin and hes probablu going to be doing some head butting to get things on the right track....
sorry for being a bit long winded.
