Hey, Im looking for the setting slash used for dont cry,the solo mainly but the rest of the song would be helpful too. Im also looking for an alkaline trio setting for their older stuff, any help appreciated,Ian
icanmunch: here is ur slash tone for Dont' Cry. for starters lets just say up front slash uses an overdrive pedal, so w/o one u can't get it just right, and there is no guitar that subs a les paul.
i used an agile hornet, agathis body w/ AL-Hot crome covered humbuckers to produce this tone, a fairly tight full neck tone and an overall balanced bridge tone, if u use emgs or othe rhigh output pickups ur gonna have to adjust cuz it wont have that vintage bit of style thats slash is known for, a sort of dirty modern vintage tone i guess.
Model: RED METAL
Drive: 6 (half)
Bass: 4.5
Mid: 8
Treb: 9
channel: 3/4 and boost ur master, i tend to like it better for low drive settings. but its not a big difference.
FX: wah all the way up in toe position, no switching.
Reverb: half
fyi: if u dont have the wah then it will just be a little fuller than u want but this is pretty much a good slash tone for anything. if u have an overdrive pedal or a tube screamer a mild boost from that will give u a lot more punch and harmonic ur looking for, and i like to always have the wah engaged for my slash channel.
there is a pretty good slash dial in on the first page for his actual amp and what not, u can use that as a base if this is not to ur liking. this tone works for sweet child also and msot velvet revolver.
Spider III Presets catalogue
Here's a list of the preset values on the III 75 upwards
It also includes a list of some of the posted settings from the OLD thread (on the User presets Tab)
http://www.Gav1n.co.uk/SpiderIII.htm
As an aside, I notice that many of your posted settings crank the Drive to max etc (all is good), but none of you ever seem to use the DriveBoost or NoiseGate features at all ?? You should try them.

I was excited for a moment there, and then remembered mine is an HD75, not a 75 and as such just has four channels, no presets and none of these tones can be just dialled in.
Damn.

I have a spider jam & looking for setting to get me closer to the artists.. Anybody have some country artist presets? Like Keith urbun, Tobey Keith, Lady A, Dirks Bently etc...The list goes on.. Anything you have to share.. Thanks in advance...
Great Site Gav1n
How would you get a "Man in the Box" Alice in chains setting?
Thanks
Hi All. Has an SJam for over a year now, pleased with it. Been using a Strat but just bought an Epi Les Paul Standard(Stock HBs). I can get rich clean sounds and heavy distortion but dont seem to be able to get that Les Paul growl, despite tweaking the dials. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
You need a tone with a bit of "ooomff" in it to get that sound. . . .
So to get as close as possible, you will either have to use alot of bass to get the heavy tone, or used a scooped preset.
Here is a site that has some presets listed, right down to the last detail, and has alot of settings there.

If you go to the end of the list (or near the end) you should find a tone I think is called "Good Marshall Metal Distortion Tone" I have found it to be good with both my passive and active pickups in most of my guitars. Then just ajust the gain setting to your liking. Hope this helps ![]()

Hey everyone. Is there a post like this one for the MK2 series? I recently picked one up and would love to experiment with some popular artist tones. I have looked around online, but can't seem to find anything. Thanks for any input/guidance.
