Direct out volume

Hi all,

I am thinking of switching from my Flextone III to the new Spider Valve MKII but have some last questions about the Spiders Direct out:

  1. Does the master volume of the SV mkII affect the direct out volume? I liked the fact that I could adjust the Flextone's volume on stage without affecting the direct out signal send to the PA.
  2. The Flextone has a Direct out level pot. I don't find this on the Spider Valve mkII pictures. Is the Direct out level adjustable other than adjusting all the preset levels seperately?

Thanks,

Roel.

Re: Direct out volume

The master volume does NOT affect the XLR out level....

The XLR out level (At least in the MK1) is mic level and impedance is about the same as a real SM57...It is not line level like the Flextone III...You must have a mic pre or mic channel strip to use it...Not sure if they changed that on the MK2...

Re: Direct out volume

The Mk II is different.  If you select 'Performance Mode', the XLR outs are sent after the power tubes, so the master volume WILL affect the XLRs.  In Studio mode, the XLRs are fed by the pre-amp.

Re: Direct out volume

Do you know if in any of the 2 Modes, the 'Performance Mode' &/or "Studio Mode" signals on the MKII have the Loop included in the final out of the Direct Out?
