Hey all, I saw a post about Electro-Harmonix making some cool sounds of other instruments this morning. Thought I'd fool with my M13 to see what it can do.
Got a cool organ sound (because this uses the filter settings it's a one-note at a time setting):
FX1: Synth-O-Matic--- Freq: 70% / Q: 0% / Wave 1 / Pitch: 50% / Mix 100%
(FYI: the wave setting can change the type of "organ-like" sound, pitch should be 50 to equal the pitch of the guitar otherwise it is not truly the same note, if you lower the mix you can "tune" the pitch by comparing the wet and dry signals for equality)
FX2: Smart Harmony--- Maj or Min scale / Key A / +3rd shift / Mix 50%
(FYI: obviously the scale and key can be changed for your application, i like to save my harmonizers in different scales/keys to the 6 buttons in FX units 2&3 for more options in the same general sound)
FX3: Smart Harmony- repeat as for effect 2 for more key/scale options--REMEMBER only run one at a time ![]()
Otherwise you can place the chorus from FX 4 in FX3 and add a delay or reverb in the open FX4 slot
FX4: Analog Chorus--- Speed 20-30% / Depth 75% / Set to Chorus on knob4 / tone 50% / mix 100%
Awesome, just became one of my preset scenes.
1 thing; you get a totally different, but still organ sound with the rotary drum/ horn. try it
edit; in slow setting the rotary sounds just like 'in repair', john mayer
It's also useful to have a sustainer in front of the synth-o-matic for longer notes, otherwise it fades out uglily(does that make sence?)
Awesome work dude!,
Could you please do me a favour. If possible could you please try taking out the sound of sitar, piano and saxophone on M13 and provide us the settings because you sound like a real sound player who knows how to make sounds. Your help would really be appreciated. And yes thanks for these amazing settings.
I remember that I once modelled a saxophone, it was with the synth-o-matic model. I will try to duplicate it soon
