Biography:
I'm more of a strummer, not really a twiddler.
Own 4 Guitars, my 1st guitar bought @ 15 yrs ago is a Vester Stage Series Tele Copy great sounding guitar & have had a couple of Pro's make me offers for it when i've used it at Jam sessions.
Marathon ES335 Copy, simply the most Gorgeous guitar i've ever owned. Got it in East Germany in 95, plays like a dream, low n fast, stock pickups that used to feedback something awful until i filled out the coils with a hot glue gun, sorted it immediately & never had to think about changing anything since & another i've had serious offers on, I'd put it up against an original Gibson ES335 any day. the standard of finish is just amazing, translucent cherry red & superb fleur de lys mother of pearl inlay on the neck. this is my main battle axe it ranges from sexy silky smooth jazzy tones to the nastiest grunge you could ever want.
Epiphone Les Paul Ultra in translucent red sunburst against an amazing wood grain with Gold hardware, excellent sound, looks the dogs danglies & The nearest i'm ever going to get to owning the real McCoy.
& finally my Crafter GAE6 Electro Acoustic, another awesome sounding & looking guitar.
For amp's i use a Fender Blues Deluxe re-issue, got this one in 95 and until recently never thought of getting anything else, it's a real tone monster and so LOUD it's hard to believe it's only rated at 40Watts. all tweed, ox blood grill, and most importantly All Valve ... gorgeous thick n creamy sound.
Then we come to the effects, used to have a pile of Boss Pedals but got fed up with what seemed like a hundred plugs & wires going everywhere so i got rid of them about 3 yrs ago & got myself a Digitech GNX3, full range of just about every effect you could possibly need & loads of Amp/Cab models to play with .. It's great fun.
And Lastly, the reason i stumbled upon this place ... Just got myself a Line6 Spider3 15w. I had to get something smaller & more useable for home use as the Fender is just too loud and it doesn't give the tones i want at low volume.
First impressions of the Spider are more than good, i love the clean, Crunch & Metal channels .. The insane channel is ..well, insane ! ... I doubt i'll use that one too often as it just seems a bit too much to my ear.
So that's about it .. that's "My Stuff".
