  • Biography: A versatile and very experienced musician, Scott has performed over much of the east coast of Australia in a number of guises. From backyard weddings to festival crowds of 1000’s, he has performed as a solo guitarist, in jazz and rock bands, acoustic blues duos, tribute shows and big bands. In all he has performed around 1500 professional gigs in the last decade, and some of the notable highlights along the way include: •Opening for the show ‘Greats of Australian Guitar’ at Sydney’s famous ‘The Basement’ club •A final five finalist in the Australian Guitar Magazine 2007 ‘Australian Guitarist of The Year’ Competition •Twice nominated as a final five finalist in the Musicoz Awards; the national songwriting competition for unsigned artists. Scott was nominated for best original jazz composition ‘Scooter’s Blues’, and best original arrangement for his solo guitar version of ‘Georgia on My Mind’. •Competing in the national fingerstyle guitar championships final at the Frankston International Guitar Festival in Victoria. •Performing at NSW Parliament House for state and federal MPs and AOC officials and sponsors •Playing at the ‘Country Rocks’ showcase at Circular Quay Australia Day 2005 in front of an estimated 20 000 people. . Playing on national TV During this time Scott has been afforded the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Idea of North, James Muller, George Golla, James Morrison, Colin Buchanan, Phil Emmanuel, Bruce Matiske, and Dragon. He has also worked as a session musician on various projects, composed music for film and advertising, and conducted workshops on various aspects of musicianship and the guitar. Workshops conducted include using Sibelius software, fingerstyle guitar, guitar tone and effects, ensemble playing and the use if guitar synthesizers and MIDI instrumentation. His greatest influences and inspirations include Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. His playing incorporates bluesy bends and articulations, jazzy chromaticism and harmonic concepts, and modern rock guitar techniques including fast legato runs, alternate and sweep-picked lines, and the ability to play a bass line, chords and improvise a solo line over this concurrently. Scott also plays slide guitar and enjoys exploring alternate tunings for the solo acoustic guitar
