Few simple questions before I buy

I'm really interested in buying Guitar port which included Gearbox, but beforehand, I have a few questions I would like answered. First, I would like to know if the sound effects that come with the $99.99 package are the sound samples we can listen to on the Guitar Port page. Are there any more pre set options than the ones we hear? I really like the 'Hair' sound. Another question I have, is if it's possible to use my computer speakers for the sound output. I currently have a 5.1 surround system haging on my computer, and I actually want to use this system for the sound output of my guitar. Is it possible to keep it hooked to my computer and still use it for the Guitar Port sound output? I would hate it if I would have to switch the spearers from my PC to Guitar Port everytime I want to use it. I hope someone can asnwer these questions for me. Big thanks in advance!

Re: Few simple questions before I buy

Hi,

The amp modelling software is the same regardless if you use a GuitarPort, TonePort DI-Bundled, POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 USB hardware device. You'll be able to use either GearBox or POD Farm modelling software, depending on what your needs are.

However, you won't be able to use your computer's speakers to hear the modelled sound as that output will always come from the output device of our USB device(s). Many new users ask this same question; I usually try to get them to understand that our USB audio interfaces handle both input and output for audio, once the USB drivers have been installed and the USB cable is connected.
