I just had my computer reformatted and put Windows 7 on it. I was going to download Monkey and reinstall it but I don't want to screw anything up and there isn't a 7 version listed. Will one of these work?
It doesn't work for me. It starts up fine, but it doesn't recognize any of my devices.
I'm not sure about Monkey specifically, but I know Line 6 products in general and the X3 in particular are not yet supported under Windows 7. Different users have differnet experiences but most have some seem to have some problem or other. But I believe you can run applications under Windows 7 in compatibility mode, and I believe people have had some success with Monkey/X3 doing this. I don't think you can harm anything - just give it a try. I think worst case is it won't work.
Monkey running under Windows 7 XP Mode bricked my Spider IV when I tried to update the firmware. I had to boot the Spider IV into safe mode and reflash it from a Vista PC.
Ooops - my mistake. Thanks for clarifying, mimungr. So, cjslicer - best not to do it.
Thanx, guys. I think I'll just wait or maybe use my wife's comp instead.
