Well after a bit of work i realized this:
1) the M13 can work as a Midi Foot Controller
2) it works going on scene set up, at that point if u switch scene by scene than some other effect connected via midi change his preset till number 12
3) the limit it is u can have only 12 switch possibilities because at same time u can have only 12 scene viewable, u can change folder only going on knobs but in a live situation its not handable ofc, so the story of 48 scene its true only considering them as in studio use, (i have not understood how to change solder only going by foot switchs)
4) so if i have understood well i can use 12 scene at same time, selecting it the midi controller give at someother midi unit connected the right program till n.12 meantime u can arrange all the effects u want on the M13
Now a big tip for LINE6, please in the next firmware update create a way to control all the 48 scenes using the foot switches of M13 or create a new way to change folder.
Could be useful a function to go next, scene by scene and reverse.
If this function exists already than help me to find it

This will not happen on the M13 ever. I may need to take the 36 extra scenes away if I get this request to many times. The extra scenes are mostly for guys who want to put the M13 on a rack shelf and control it and their amps with say, a ground control. I was going to make the 48 scenes only accessible via Midi but thought that the guy who uses M13 stand alone would appreciate the extra 36 scenes even though changing to them would mean them bending down a couple times in a set to change folders. If too many get dismayed or upset with having to bend over I will solve it by taking them away except via midi. We spent a good amount of time thinking of alternate scene modes that may be able to do this and at the end of the day, we want the M13 as super easy and what you see is what you get as possible. So this was the most simple way to add a cool function to the unit without making it complicated. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I knew some guys would want a better way to change the folder and knew I would have to say know but I was confident that they would still be glad for the extra scenes.
Well
thanks for your reply but now i have another question
If your theory about the use of M13 in a Rack (not on the ground as controller) is right, because it's of course, which kind of foot controller i could use to have all effects controlled by that?
There is one compatible from the Line6 offer?
Thanks
I guess no good deed goes unpunished, huh, Rich?![]()
Personally, I haven't even really gotten to take advantage of the extra scenes. I guess it depends on how you use it the M13. If you use it only in latch scene mode and truly treat a scene like a preset, then it would be nice to have access to all 48 scenes just by using the stomp switches alone in some way. However, even have 12 scenes available to you any, that gives you a lot of flexibility. It doesn't seem too bad to have to bend down to turn the knob, really. I remember when I had to bend over to turn the knobs of my Tubescreamer or other pedal between songs... I'd have a little cheat sheet showing knob positions and such. Man, how quickly we get spoiled.
That seems like a bit harsh. How about "if you don't want to change to other folders that way, don't use them?" Are you really going to take away features just because some people complain about them? I guess if you use the extra scenes (or possibly other features that get complaints), you should be careful before doing any more updates...
hi, to use the m13 rack, and have and change of 48 scenes available at all times as a preset, midi controller that you recommend? ground control? or other?
thank you very much!
+1 to Rich
You heard it from the product manager, there will be no other method of accessing the additional scenes.
As for which MIDI controller to use with it, there is no single controller we recommend, but the Ground Control is always a solid option.

Never mind... I accidentally replied to an old thread.
"I may need to take the 36 extra scenes away if I get this request to many times."
Wow - I sure am surprised to see a response like this from a product support manager. Especially for a perfectly reasonable request.
Sounds like a parent to a child: "if you don't quit bugging me, I will take away your toys".
Line6Renken, I suggest that before you respond to a post that irks you: step back and have someone read it before posting. Responses like this can only alienate current and future customers. It will never win any new ones.
well let me say i'm in the same opinion
i'm disappointed about this company policy expecially considering that giving more stability in foot controlling switching by scenes, using foots, it will be a new good reason to purchase a M13. In a unique object you will have a great effect pedalboard and a foot controller, why not!
Good Luck with your products to be honest i'm thinking to re sell it cause this problem.
Regards
line 6! no costing them! nothing ......... I love my m13 !
m13 will change the world of pedals! there will be a new update! with this fix .... only god knows!

this will never have to bend down, I would do with their feet? button to change banks? thanks
"line 6! no costing them! nothing ......... I love my m13 !"
Unfortunately, this is not true. It does cost to implement a new feature. I has to be spec'ed, coded, unit tested, system tested, then distributed. This is not free. Just like every company, I am sure they add new features for one of two reasons (1) to fix defects, (2) to win potential new customers over to their product. If the cost of implementing a new feature does not ultimately result in more revenue (either short term or long term), I suspect it would not be implemented. This is a company after all, who is trying to make money. If they dont make money, they wont be in business.
Personally, I am appreciative that they did put in a lot of new features since the first release. I liked that they bumped it up to 48 scenes.
At first I had a hard time getting my head around scenes. I thought, "why did they not make patches, just like everyone else?". Then I started getting use to it, and realized, they are like patches. 12 patches (scenes) in 4 banks (folders), with the added bonus that each effect in the patch can have three flavors. What we are asking for the ability to switch "banks" (i.e. folders) with a midi controller. This would make it operate better live, just like other foot programmable devices, GT10, RP1000, Nova, etc.
I am a tone snob. All my tone buddies are appalled that I purchased a line6 pedal board. But, I did not buy it for the tone, although they are pretty good. THE biggest reason I purchased the unit is because of the convience of scenes, and recalling settings. I compromised some of my boutique pedal tone for the convienience of pressing a footswitch to instantly go from tele twang to 70s crunch, to EVH tone (although I have to switch guitars!). Adding a midi controller to switch scene folders would just make it that much better for me, and perhaps other customers like me.
