I've hooked up my UX2 and made it the default sound device in Windows XP as well as the default ASIO driver in Cubase SX3.
I've also made the UX the default MIDI playback device in XP's Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Audio tab.
The only thing I can't figure out is how to get my MIDI tracks (which are assigned to various VST instruments) in the Cubase Project to playback through the UX2.
There is a signal visable in the MIDI tracks within the Cubase Project but I can't hear them.
(I have no probs recording/listening back to Audio through the UX2.)
Thanks,
Tom
Hi.
The UX2 has no midi sounds of its own.
You should be able to hear the midi tracks in cubase though as they are assigned to a vst.
Mick
That's what I thought.
I'm not using my soundcard at all anymore (M-Audio 1010lt) and monitoring everything through the UX2.
All I need is for the MIDI to playback through the VST instruments so I can play along to the backing tracks but, for some reason only the Audio tracks (guitar / vocals) are heard.
Could it be a configuration issue in Cubase?
I've changed the default MIDI output in Device Setup to be UX2.
It's got me stumped.
Maybe I'll try re-loading each VST instrument now that I've changed the ASIO driver from the M-Audio to UX2.
Hi.
Maybe its something to do with the VST connections in Cubase.
I have noticed that Cubase tends to keep the soundcard settings for a project even when moved to a different computer.
Mick
Yes!!!
By re-loading the VST instruments in my Cubase Project I'm able to monitor my MIDI tracks while Recording & Listening to my Audio tracks.
Thanks for your help and quick response Mick :-)
