Line 6 Edit Public Beta, version 3.0 now available!
This new version 3.0 is now the recommended Line 6 Edit version for use with
all of the following Line devices:
- PODxt, PODxt Live, PODxt Pro*
- Bass PODxt, Bass PODxt Live, Bass PODxt Pro
- POD 2.0, POD Pro
- Flextone II & Flextone III
- HD 147
- Vetta II Head & Combo*
Line 6 Edit 3.0 includes many new Tone editing & interface improvements, support for the latest Vetta II, PODxt
firmware, models and the Bass Expansion Model Pack, as well as improved interaction with the redesigned Custom
Tone site, and more! Line 6 Edit is available as FREE download. The best way to get it is to first install Line
6 Monkey, the free intelligent updater utility, then run Line 6 Monkey to allow it to check your system with your
Line 6 hardware connected to your computer. Monkey will allow you to select, download and install all necessary
updates for your system, including the new Line 6 Edit! You can get Line 6 Monkey here.
To maximize your compatibility with all the latest Tones available for download from the Custom Tone Online
Library, you will want to be sure to have this new Line 6 Edit version, and all the recommended updates for your

*Important note for PODxt, PODxt Live, PODxt Pro and Vetta II owners - Before you can use the new Line 6 Edit
3.0 version, you will need to make sure you have the latest device Firmware and Flash Memory versions. Run Line 6
Monkey with your PODxt or Vetta II connected and it will check your device and assist you in performing any
necessary updates.
Installing Line 6 Edit 3.0 and preparing to use the Online Library:
You'll need Windows XP or 2000 (but not ME or 98) or Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. Note that Line 6 Edit 3.0 is not
tested on Intel processor Macintosh computers and therefore, this type of system is not supported.
- Download and install Line 6 Monkey.
- Connect your Line 6 device to your computer. For PODxt and Bass PODxt devices, connect using a USB
cable. For all other supported Line 6 amps and POD devices, you'll need to connect with MIDI cables and a
MIDI interface. See your Line 6 Pilot's Handbook for more about this MIDI connection, if necessary.
- Launch Line 6 Monkey and go to the Updates tab.
- Update your Driver if necessary.
- Update your Device Firmware and Flash Memory if Monkey shows available updates.
- Download and install Line 6 Edit 3.0 .
Windows users - it's important that you have a live Internet connection during install, so that the
necessary Java Runtime Environment software is also downloaded and installed.
Launch Line 6 Edit and use the Online Library button for direct access to Tones from the integrated browser. You
can also use the Submit This Tone to Online Library button to upload the current Tone file to Custom Tone.
