| PDXguitarfreak | As seen in my YouTube video at the following location: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7jPxNzJTI8 ..... When using this patch, keep the Reverb and Delay always on. For rhythm playing, keep the expression pedal in the up or open position, and for the solo put the expression pedal in the down or closed position (this will make the Reverb and Delay more dramatic). For the solo, I kick in the Phaser (similar to the way Eddie used an MXR Phaser on many of his early solos, set for a subtle phase). However, use of the Phaser is completely optional :) Rock on! | 3/23/13 | |||||||

Mean Street | Van Halen | Mean Street, Unchained | Van Halen | Treadplate / Treadplate | Rock, Metal, 80s | 1067 |
| PDXguitarfreak | Expression pedal set up so that as you step down on it, it will increase the delay level, wideness, etc, for lead playing. Please check out my patches in action at www.youtube.com/user/PDXguitarfreak | 2/3/13 | |||||||

Marshall JCM 800 ver 2 | From Angus Young to cliched early 80s rocker, depending on engagements of effects | Brit J-800 / Brit J-800 Pre | Rock, Hard Rock, 80s | 1558 |
| PDXguitarfreak | Use with no effects for an AC/DC or 70s style moderate gain tone. Add all effects for a very clichéd sounding guitar tone reminiscent of the early 80s :) | 12/9/12 | |||||||

Dave's Main Tone ver 3 | Eddie Van Halen, Warren DeMartini, Matthias Jabs | Van Halen, Ratt, Scorpions | Treadplate / Treadplate | 2530 |
| PDXguitarfreak | Expression pedal is used to add gain, and change delay settings. With expression pedal in the fully up position, delay is subtle and gain is moderate for a rhythm tone. With expression pedal in the fully down position, delay is more dramatic and gain is high for lead playing. Phaser intended for use while playing lead. Clean Tweed Blues | Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy | Tweed B-Man Brt | Blues, Rock | 1855 |
| PDXguitarfreak | For this patch, I recommend using a guitar with single coil pickups (or humbuckers capable of splitting). This patch was intended for both clean and dirty blues tones (the latter achieved by turning on the Tube Screamer). | 12/8/12 | |||||||

Engl Metal Machine | Angel F-Ball | Metal, Thrash, Hard Rock | 1798 |

| PDXguitarfreak | Expression pedal is used to add gain, midrange (both via the amps and one of the graphic EQs) and change delay settings. With expression pedal in the fully up position, delay is subtle and gain/mids are moderate for a rhythm tone (although I often leave the delay off when playing rhythm in this patch). With expression pedal in the fully down position, delay is more dramatic and gain/mids are high for lead playing. I added the tremolo and flanger effects for fun. Try the tremolo + flanger + reverb, while in the lead mode of this patch (expression pedal fully down) while playing hammer-on and pull-offs riffs/leads (you will have to time it just right, but you will get a cool keyboard-like effect). Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).
The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.
Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.
For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.
Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.
