||Mesa Epica DYU||Mark Jansen||Unleashed||Epica||Treadplate||Metal||300|
|gohloum||Similar to TDC tone with more mid focus and presence. Guitar used - Ibanez 7 String Modified with Crunch Lab/Liquifire pickups (Petrucci setup).||12/31/12|
||Rite of Mesa2||John Petrucci||Rite Of Passage||Dream Theater||Treadplate||Metal||610|
|gohloum||Guitar Used - Ibanez 7 String Modified Crunch Lab / Liquifire pickups. I left several processors disabled for the mid focus. Each one has a slightly different character and I was not able to get an exact match, but all are closely related. I found the Tube Distortion model worked best for me, but liked the results of the Tube Screamer and the 4 band Shift. DEP's have been adjusted to compensate for more open vowel sound which is more characteristic of the Mark V. The fizz is good and very Petrucci-ish. You can check out his YouTube video on getting good metal tones and you will hear what I am talking about.||1/1/13|
||Mesa Epica TDC||Mark Jansen||Never Enough - TDC||Epica||Treadplate||Metal||317|
|gohloum||Based on Never Enough from The Divine Conspiracy album. Direct tone using Ibanez 7 String modified Crunch Lab / Liquifire pickups.||12/31/12|
||Uberwish - Nemo||Emppu Vuorinen||Nemo||Nightwish||Bomber Uber||Metal||281|
|gohloum||Guitar used - Modified Ibanez 7 string with Crunch Lab/Liquifire pickups. This is the Rhythm tone direct.||12/31/12|
||Tragedy - HideSeek||Vegard K. Thorsen||Hide And Seek||Theatre of Tragedy||458840||Metal/Doom||263|
|gohloum||Guitar used: Ibanez 7 string modified Crunchlab/Liquifire pickups. This tone is the rhythm tone. To match chugs at the beginning of song, light muting right at the saddles. You need to all the harmonics to have longer decay time than standard muting techniques. Top end will carry through the note if done correctly.||1/1/13|
||WT Faster||Rudolf Adrianus Jolie||Faster||Within Temptation||458852||Metal||279|
|gohloum||NOTE: This patch requires the latest updates for the POD HD PRO and the Editor. The amp used is the Solo Overdrive. The intro lick for the song is layered so I've created something that is in between the tones without the modulation or ambient effects. I'm using an Ibanez 7 string with a Crunch Lab which as a bit more bite than what I would like for dialing in this tone. I spent a good bit of time getting the amp and Cab DEPs set to react accordingly. To tweak this tone, I would start in the FX section with the Tube Driver. Adjust the drive knob according to your guitar's pickup gain and use the tone controls on the pedal effect. Tweak density with the graphic EQ. You shouldn't have to do much if any with the amp settings.||1/1/13|
||7Dust Failure||John Connolly||Failure||Sevendust||Treadplate||Metal||302|
|gohloum||Guitar Used Ibanez 7 string mod Crunchlab/Liquifire pickups. Best tweaks for a guitar with hot pickups will be the amp Bias. There are several EQs in the signal path both before and after the amp. Mid shape with Screamer and pre EQ.||1/1/13|
||Amaranthe-EnterTheMaze||Olof Mörck||Enter The Maze||Amaranthe||Treadplate||Power Metal||213|
|gohloum||Direct tone. Monitored through JBL 6328. Guitar used - Modified Ibanez 7 with Crunch Lab/Liquifire setup (Petrucci). Tone is setup as post production. You may wish to modify high end for actual guitar tone.||12/31/12|
||Uberwish - BlessTheChild||Emppu Vuorinen||Bless The Child||Nightwish||Bomber Uber||Metal||221|
|gohloum||Based off the other Uberwish tone. More compressed, boxy and more fizz.||12/31/12|
Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).
The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.
Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.
For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.
Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.
