| sdoran | This version I made is better for recording than through an amp. | 3/22/06 |

Viva la Volta | Omar Rodriguez-Lopez | Inertiatic ESP | The Mars Volta | Class A-30 TB | Alternative | 680 |

| sdoran | This was intended to be played with an amp. I think it sounds close, but you'll have to tweak it some to get other sounds, but this is a good base. | 3/30/06 |

| sdoran | The stomp lowers the volume a tad, and adds a little fuzz. The mod adds that watery peaceful sounds, and of course delay adds a little repeat of what you're playing. I decided to turn the wah off, but is used in the song. You can copy this and make one with the wah on so you can use it during the catchy little riff thing. Adding some delay at that part makes it sound like the recording. You'll figure out which parts of the song use which effect combinations -) | 3/30/06 |

Intro Distortion | Sean Doran | Aether | Ao | Line 6 Agro | Alternative | 123 |

| sdoran | This is great for beginning a song off, as an intro. It has an old distant sound, as if recorded with horrible quality, but it still contains character. | 3/30/06 |

| sdoran | Tone Summary Enough Overdrive to give a nice thick sound while providing a nice smooth tone on the high frets that comes out in the mix, especially for high speed sweeps, tapping, and straight up soloing. (There's tons more info if you scroll down) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you want to read all of this, I suggest clicking inside the Notes box, press CTRL+A and then CTRL+C, open up Notepad or Word, then pasting it so it's way easier to read. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As always, tweak this tone as much as you can to get it to sound perfect. This tone only to be a very good guide to getting the sound you want. So unless you're using my exact setup, which would be very weird, expect to tweak somethings! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Band The Human Abstract ( httpwww.myspace.comthehumanabstract ) Album Nocturne (Hopeless Records 2006) Guitarists A.J. Minette Dean Herrera Genre Metalcore Mathcore Technical Metal -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I tried to get it pretty close to the recording and what I head from their live sound, both of which are amazing. It's meant for more of the distorted and overdriven parts, but it's able to produce a nice similar clean sound as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guitar Used A stock Gibson Les Paul Studio with a modified bone nut Pickups Humbuckers Amp Used Vox AD50VT (Boutique Clean- EQ Flat with Max Volume) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tone Correction Combo Front- Lows -19 Focus 800 Hz Highs -21 Compression Evens stuff out enough, but not too much. Modify to your heart's content. Gate I have it high because I can get sloppy up high on the neck. Put it low if you don't need it, but I don't suggest getting rid of it since it'll sorta buzz due to the overdrive. EQ Good for more mid -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neck Pickup Solos Leads Adds Umph to the Chugga, but to much for me Middle Pickup Good for Chugging Pretty nice for Solos Leads Bridge Pickup Add more Treble to Solos Leads Good for when you aren't Chugging along or doing some crazy solo, you know, those other parts... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you turn the Stomp (FX- Killer Z) off, and roll back the volume on your guitar, you can get a clean sound that is close to their's as well. I find that using the Bridge Pickup for this helps it sound better. For kicks, you could but on the Mod (Sine Chorus) and give some more glow and body to it. Also, you can turn on the EQ to give more of a boost during the solos. If you want, you should save this in one tone slot, and then save this with the EQ on in another one so you can be fancy and switch to give your solos more kick when you want, and then switch back for more Chugga Chugga. Just an idea. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Line 6 Equipment Used PodXT Live Crafted By Mailman Frank (April 3, 2007- Tuesday) | 4/2/07 |

Heavy Metal Chugga Solo | JerryC | Canon Rock | Dream Theater | Class A-15 | Metal Shred | 220 |

| sdoran | Versitile Chunkiness. Imagine Petrucci's tone but tighter. Perfect lead tone as well as rhythm if the you turn of the Mod (Phaser). Without the Stomp (Screamer), it lets you have a more subdued distortion. Use your bridge pickup to get a less beffier sound, but still have enough. It can give an edginess to the notes higher up on the fretboard too. Use your neck pickup to obviously get more beef, but also have more smooth notes that are higher up on the fretboard. MY SET UP Gibson Les Paul Studio Output Mode Combo Poweramp Input Pad (That switch in the back) Amp Vox Valvetronix 50ADVT on Boutique Clean. Flat EQ I hope you like this as much as I do. -Song, Guitarist, and Band are there just to get hits. It is like their tones though. | 2/10/08 |

Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).
The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.
Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.
For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.
Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.
