| thewhites | You have to upgrade to new variax firmware for this patch. The acoustic guitar "capoed" at 6th fret so you can play it open. I created this with the Variax JTV89. Run direct or with headphones. | 5/9/12 | |||||||

| thewhites | To make this sound right I have added a Univibe. Use the Volume pedal to slowly swell each note in and mixed with the light delay it gives a very close Marshalesque haunting sound like the record. I am using a JB humbucker pickup in the bridge position for this one. Also lay off a bit on the volume knob and let the Overdrive do the dirty work. I am using a JB humbucker running the Pod HD500 in stereo using the XLR jacks and running into a pair of QSC K-12 speakers. | 12/29/10 | |||||||

Marshall Lead | Any 80s Hair Rockers | Any 80s Metal | Any 80s Hair Bands | Hiway 100 | 3018 |
| thewhites | This is my best creation yet. I found the Marshall lead tone by using other amp model speaker combinations. It has gain for days with a touch of reverb and a ducked delay so when you do the fast runs the delay doesnt mush your sound but it is still there, just transparent. I am using a JB humbucker running the Pod HD500 in stereo using the XLR jacks and running into a pair of QSC K-12 speakers. | 12/29/10 | |||||||

Lights | Neal Schon | Lights | Journey | Hiway 100 | Rock | 617 |
| thewhites | This tone was written using the JTV Variax into the HD500 in studio direct mode into the Line 6 L3t speaker in monitor mode. Strat position 5 will automatically pull up when you select patch. Back off your guitar volume knob to around 70% until the solo. For the solo pull volume all the way up on guitar and click fs1 to turn on screamer. | 7/13/12 | |||||||

Wallflowers Solo | Class A-30 TB | 4492 |
| thewhites | This sound closely resembles the short middle solo to One Headlight by the wallflowers. I used a 5 repeated delay mixed with very thick short reverb. Use your second position pickup on a strat and roll your volume knob back to around half to get the correct sound for this. Also I have found that using my fingertips to pick the notes gives it the same deadened attack as the record. I am using a JB humbucker running the Pod HD500 in stereo using the XLR jacks and running into a pair of QSC K-12 speakers. | 12/29/10 | |||||||

| thewhites | This patch use JTV Variax in Strat position 2 into POD HD500 in studio direct mode into Line 6 L3t cabinet set to monitor mode. If you download this tone please take a second to rate it. | 7/6/12 | |||||||

Smooth Lead | Class A-15 | 335 |
| thewhites | This is one of my lead patches. It was written using a JTV Variax into POd HD500 in studio direct mode into L3t speaker in Monitor mode. The expression 2 pedal controls the amount of mix of delay. If you turn on FS4 you the treble on on your variax will turn into a whammy pull up bar and the volume on variax will dive like a whammy bar. Make sure both vol and treble knobs are set at full on position b4 you engage fs4. The more you move them to the off or zero position the more whammy effect you will have. To enhance this even more use the wah while using the whammy effect and also play with the delay mix on expression 2 | 7/19/12 | |||||||

VH Vol knob trem | Eddie Van Halen | Eruption | Van Halen | Brit P-75 Brt | Rock | 452 |

| thewhites | No Tremolo no problem. Just use the volume knob on your JTV Variax as the tremolo. Try it out. | 5/9/12 | |||||||
Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).
The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.
Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.
For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.
Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.
