What are model packs?
Model packs are collections of amp and effect models that expand the model sets in many Line 6® products. No new hardware is required—the packs are installed via software download from line6.com.

Which Line 6 products support model packs?
Most POD Studio™, TonePort®, GuitarPort®, and POD® xt devices (except for Bass POD xt) support model packs. You may be required to update your hardware with the latest flash memory and USB firmware, both of which are available in a free download. Computers running PF2.51 licenses can also use model packs. (Please note: many Line 6 devices come with model packs preinstalled. Please refer to the model pack compatibility chart for a complete list of compatible devices.)

How do I get model packs?
It's easy. Start by going to the Line 6 store. Choose the model packs you want, pay for them, and you'll receive a License Key and instructions via email.

Can I remove licenses from my Line 6 device or transfer them to a different Line 6 device?
Since your licenses are attached to your account, and not your devices, using licenses on different Line 6 devices is only a matter of authorizing the devices.

One transfer exception is “Factory Add-Ons”. These are features that can only be used with the device it came with and cannot be removed from that device to be “shared” with your other Line 6 devices. For example, POD® xt Live comes with an FX Junkie Add-On. After authorization, License Manager does not make that unit´s FX Junkie available to your other authorized devices.

Can I purchase model packs for my POD® X3?
There's no need. POD X3, POD X3 Live and POD X3 Pro come fully loaded with every model from every model pack.

If anything happens to my Line 6 device, do I lose my model packs?
No, you won't lose your model packs. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases and activation transactions. In the event that your device needs repairs, Line 6 Customer Support will ensure that you will be able to continue using your model packs.

If your device needs to be serviced, please inform the authorized Line 6 service center or Line 6 repair staff that your device contains model packs. They can ensure that your model packs are active when the device is returned to you.

If your hardware or software needs to be replaced, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to confirm your model pack ownership and help you reactivate your model packs.

What is the Line 6 License Manager?
The Line 6 License Manager allows you to authorize & manage all of your Line 6 licenses so that they function simultaneously with multiple computers and/or Line 6 devices. For instance, you can have a Mac® computer, a Windows® computer, a POD xt, and a TonePort®, and be able to use your licenses on all of them once the devices are properly authorized. This goes for new license purchases as well as purchases made in the past.

Additionally, the Line 6 License Manager provides online access to your line6.com User Account, allowing you to reference your purchase history, register your gear, manage account options and more!

The License Manager replaces Line 6 Monkey as the tool to use to manage licenses. Line 6 Monkey continues to be used as an updating tool for Line 6 devices.

How do I return my purchased license?
Each Line 6 license (except iLok) includes a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can log on to your Line 6 account, visit the Purchase History page, click the Details link for the order and click on "Return". You must have fully deauthorized all of your devices using License Manager before the return process can begin. After deauthorizing your devices and completing the return process, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses.

Is an Internet connection required to purchase and insall model packs?
Yes. Purchase and installation of model packs requires an Internet connection.

I use Mac® OS 9. Can I get model packs?
Well, yes and no. Model packs are activated using the Line 6 Monkey application, which supports only Mac® OS X and Windows® operating systems. However, the installation of model packs can be performed on any Internet-connected Windows® or Mac® OS X computer. So connect your device to your work computer and install your model packs. Go ahead, we won't tell anyone.

Can I use model packs with GuitarPort® RiffTracker™ and RiffWorks™ software?
Yes! GuitarPort Riff Tracker fully supports model packs.

If anything happens to my Line 6 device, or my hard drive crashes, do I lose my licenses?
No, your model packs will be safe. They are tied to your Line 6 account, not your Line 6 devices, the software installation or your computer. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases. In the event that your device needs repairs or replacement, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to deauthorize the faulty device as needed.
