What are model packs?
Model packs are collections of amp and effect models that expand the model sets in many Line 6® products. No new hardware is required—the packs are installed via software download from line6.com.

Which Line 6 products support model packs?
Most POD Studio™, TonePort®, GuitarPort®, and POD® xt devices (except for Bass POD xt) support model packs. You may be required to update your hardware with the latest flash memory and USB firmware, both of which are available in a free download. (Please note: many Line 6 devices come with model packs preinstalled. Please refer to the model pack compatibility chart for a complete list of compatible devices.)

How do I get model packs?
It's easy. Start by going to the Line 6 store. Choose the model packs you want, pay for them, and you'll receive a License Key and instructions via email.

Can I remove model packs from my Line 6 device or transfer them to a different Line 6 device?
Yes, model packs can be removed from their current Line 6 device, or moved to another compatible Line 6 device. (Each model pack can live in only one device at a time.) Purchasing additional License Keys will allow you to add separate model packs to separate devices simultaneously.

Can I purchase model packs for my POD® X3?
There's no need. POD X3, POD X3 Live and POD X3 Pro come fully loaded with every model from every model pack.

If anything happens to my Line 6 device, do I lose my model packs?
No, you won't lose your model packs. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases and activation transactions. In the event that your device needs repairs, Line 6 Customer Support will ensure that you will be able to continue using your model packs.

If your device needs to be serviced, please inform the authorized Line 6 service center or Line 6 repair staff that your device contains model packs. They can ensure that your model packs are active when the device is returned to you.

If your hardware or software needs to be replaced, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to confirm your model pack ownership and help you reactivate your model packs.

What is Line 6 Monkey?
Line 6 Monkey is an intelligent updater for your Line 6 hardware or software product and is available as a free download at: http://www.line6.com/software/. Just plug in your Line 6 product via USB to a computer with a live Internet connection. Start up the Monkey and it will tell you exactly what Line 6 software is installed in your computer and what firmware is installed in your Line 6 hardware product. If updates or optional software accessories are available online, the Monkey will let you know and give you the ability to perform an update or purchase the accessory from within this app.

Each model pack features a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don’t like them, you can return them using Line 6 Monkey.

Yes. Purchase and installation of model packs requires an Internet connection.

I use Mac® OS 9. Can I get model packs?
Well, yes and no. Model packs are activated using the Line 6 Monkey application, which supports only Mac® OS X and Windows® operating systems. However, the installation of model packs can be performed on any Internet-connected Windows® or Mac® OS X computer. So connect your device to your work computer and install your model packs. Go ahead, we won't tell anyone.

Can I use model packs with GuitarPort® RiffTracker™ and RiffWorks™ software?
Yes! GuitarPort Riff Tracker fully supports model packs.

If my hard drive crashes, do I lose my packs?
No, your model packs will be safe. They are tied to your Line 6 hardware device, not the software installation or your computer. As long as your model packs are installed into your device, you can use your model packs with any supported software installation on any computer. Also, your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all your model pack purchases and activation transactions so, in the event that your Line 6 hardware needs repairs, Line 6 Customer Support can determine which model packs you own and ensure that you will be able to continue using them.
