POD® HD F.A.Q.

What is HD modeling?

HD modeling is the culmination of research and passion for producing the best sounding, best feeling amp models possible. During the long HD modeling development project we completely overhauled and updated our modeling technology, found amazing new amplifiers to model and produced 25 of our finest amp models to date. Each one delivers superior articulation, tangible touch response and never-before-heard levels of warmth, feel and realism.

How is HD modeling different from previous Line 6 modeling?

HD amp models contain up to 10 times more amplifier DNA than our previous modeling. Things like single-ended class A tube stages, class AB push/pull interactions, tone stack, and even power supply behavior were modeled with more refinement than ever before.

What are M-class effects?

M-class effects were made famous by Line 6 M9 and M13 stompbox modelers. Many of the popular delays, reverbs, mods, pitch effects and more are the new stage-standards.

Is there a looper?

There sure is. A 48-second looper, in fact. Use the dedicated buttons for Undo, Record, Play/Stop, Half Speed and Reverse to create great sounding loops quickly. Or, connect an optional FBVâ„¢ MkII foot controller to for hands-free operation.

How routable is the signal chain?

Very. Amp and effect models can be routed with real-world flexibility that’ll make your pedal board jealous. Route to your heart’s content and save over 100 user presets. Access each rig with the efficiency of a MIDI controller.

What’s Dual Tone?

Dual Tone lets you create a tone by playing through two simultaneous rigs of amps and effects, all with a single guitar signal, all within POD HD desktop. You can pan them hard left and right for a huge stereo sound or do whatever you want. You can also plug into the 1/4-inch aux input or XLR mic input to process two separate signals at once.

Does POD HD have a software editor/librarian?

POD HD Edit is a powerful and essential control panel for POD HD that’s available for download at line6.com/software. Its separate sections for FX, Amps, Mixer and Set Lists allow you to reach deep into every aspect of your tones and experiment with sounds.
