POD® HD Pro F.A.Q.

What is POD® HD Pro rack multi-effect?

It’s the ultimate expression of digital amp and effects modeling for professional gigging and recording guitarists. It delivers total flexibility, incredible versatility and stunning HD tones that provide the detail, dynamics and touch sensitivity of the finest tube amps and effects.

What is HD amp modeling?

In amp modeling evolution, HD amp modeling is the top of the food chain. Line 6 has always strived to provide guitarists with the best feeling, best sounding and most accurate models, and HD amp models truly are the best of the best.

As part of the HD modeling process, we entirely overhauled our amp roster and added several new models of celebrated amplifiers. The result is a collection of 25 HD models of classic vintage, modern and boutique tube amps that offer unprecedented accuracy and authority of performance.

What’s the difference between HD modeling and previous Line 6 modeling?

HD amp modeling technology delivers the nuances of analog tube amp design like never before. It includes singled-ended and push/pull outputs, Class A and Class AB interactions, a variety of phase inverter topologies, parallel preamp paths and much more. The result is unprecedented sonic resolution, depth, clarity and that crucial “feel factor” that can be so elusive in other amp modeling technologies.

What effects are included in POD HD Pro?

More than 100 M-class reverbs, delays, modulations, overdrives, filters and more from famous Line 6 pedals including DL4™, M13® and M9® Stompbox Modelers. Each of the vintage classics and contemporary favorites is fully adjustable and routable. (Use up to eight at once in any order.)

Am I limited to the control parameters of the original amps and effects?

While each amp and effect model starts with classic parameters and control settings based on the originals, POD® HD Pro allows you to tweak the tones of each far beyond the capabilities of the vintage or boutique tube amp or effect being modeled. The result is like having your own amp tech right on hand to mod the amp of your choice at a second’s notice, and you can save your “modded models” to presets for instant recall at a later time.
