Agoura Hills, CA—April 20, 2006—Line 6, inventors of digital modeling guitars and amplifiers, announced a significant free update for POD® xt, POD® xt Live and POD® xt Pro. The Version 3.0 free update introduces a stunning set of new amps and effects. The update includes 6 amp models, 7 vintage and custom wah models, and 4 new effects including expression pedal pitch shifting.

"The update includes the most popular feature suggestions from our forum and customer requests," said Mark McCrite, POD® Product Line Manager, Line 6. "At no added cost the customer, we’ve added the most requested amp models, classic wah sounds, and several great new effects for PODxt,” explained McCrite. Via the built-in USB connector on PODxt, PODxt Live, and PODxt Pro, users can connect to a Windows® or Mac® OSX computer and download the free version 3.0 update.

Using the intelligent updater tool, Line 6 Monkey, version 3.0's architecture also allows optional upgrades including the new Bass Expansion Model Pack, which adds 28 bass amp and 22 bass cabinet models – all paired with the perfect modeled mic options for recording bass guitar. “Upgrading a PODxt with the Bass Expansion Model Pack gives any guitarist who also plays bass, or the small home studio owner a lot more than just some more models – it adds a whole new dimension to the POD you already own,” said McCrite.
