Known issues: 1. Variax Acoustic 700 Device Firmware/Flash Memory (DF/FM) update is only required if you intend to use Workbench. Updating the DF/FM will overwrite all the existing Variax Acoustic Patch settings, replacing them with the factory default settings. If you have created custom Alt. tuning settings that you want to be able to re-create, it is recommended that you document your settings before updating your guitar.
2. The Variax Acoustic 700 has two banks of patches in its memory- Factory and User. The Factory patches cannot be edited, they are permanent. The User bank of patches can be edited and these are the patches that you work with when using Workbench.
3. Line 6 Edit can be run at the same time as Workbench when interfacing through a PODxt Live. Vetta II does not support this.
Most users starting with RiffWorks should begin by downloading and running this installer.

This release provides support for use through PODxt Live and Vetta II combo & HD. Please make the connection between the Variax and VDI host (PODxt Live/Vetta II) using _only_ a Line 6 VDI cable - other CAT5/6 Ethernet cables (RJ45 connectors) can damage the jacks on the Variax or VDI hosts and may void your warranty in that regard.
The required minimum versions are (updatable through Line 6 Monkey):
Vetta II combo & HD firmware: 2.11 or later
PODxt Live: firmware 2.14 or later
Variax 500/700: 3.05 or later
Variax 300: 3.07 or later
PODxt Live driver version: Windows 2000/XP - 2.6.8.0
Known issues:
1. A drawing issue exists with some PCs that was a consequence of changing our Java Runtime Environment to [the most recent] version 5.0. The Body Selection pop-up menu can grow to fill the screen vertically when certain Models are selected. A workaround exists in the sense that you can use the cursor (or "arrow" keys) to navigate the menu once it has focus. 2. Line 6 Monkey may identify this new version as 1.01 once it's installed- Rest assured, it's the latest if it doesn't read "1.00"
3. IMPORTANT: There is an issue with Line 6 Monkey and systems that have an Athlon XP processor and the nVidia 2 chipset when updating a Variax 300 or through PODxt Live. As the problem is very hardware-specific, we ask that you seek out a different computer configuration for the update. We have experienced no issues running the Workbench 1.10 application with PODxt Live/Variax 300 on such systems once the update is complete.

Would you like to be able to run RiffWorks with a smaller or larger window size? Run this Alternate Graphic Resolutions Installer to have smaller and larger display sizes available, then run the RWSettings tool to select the graphics resolution of your choice. See the HELP available within RiffWorks to learn how to change graphic resolutions using the RWSettings tool.

You can open this file into RiffWorks, and you'll then be able to mute individual tracks and check out the details of the effects and other settings. To avoid overwhelming machines with slower processors and less RAM, this version of the Demo Song is simplified versus the one available from the Hear The Demo Song Hear The Demo Song link at www.line6.com/rifftracker. That more elaborate version mulit track is available for download as the Deluxe Demo Song File.
