Hi Mate

I can only talk about the guitar side of it because as I don't run into The HD or PODs . Yes your right this is a Line6 forum and some people are going to be biased , but there are lots on here who have been painfully honest about their experiences with line 6 so hopefully you'll get a balanced response.

All I can say is I've been lucky as far as my guitars reliability goes , and the one thing that has impressed me the most is the organic feel and sounds , i tried the original variax years ago when they first come out and yes it sounded digital and there was a latency issue . But even when i'm recording on computer through Guitar rig latency is not an issue .

On the sounds side of it I run the guitar into an A/B and use that to toggle between an engl half stack for the electric sounds and the PA fotr the acoustic and I've had nothing but great feedback about the authenticity of the sound. And if buying the HD500 was an option without resulting in another divorce I would definately have got one by now .

get yourself down to one of the local music shops and try the range out . personally I think you'll be impressed

Jon

Retorical question BTW

I've had the JTV 59 for just over a year now and I noticed something a while back , not seen it mentioned on here so at the risk of being made to look an idiot here goes.

I currently tune down half a step as I use the JTV live and we play everything a semi tone down for the benifit of the singer ( Yes i know that line 6 says tune the guitar to pitch) .Its just easier to go from say the 12 string woody to a full on electric sound by hitting the model select switch and going between mags and model without filling the custom banks , anyway i digress

When i use the virtual capo not only does the resulting tuning sound half a step down as you would expect seeing as its designed around pitch shifting but it also takes the tuning down another semi tone .

to give an example I was playing some Tremonti songs and decided to turn the open D preset to a D5 (DADADD) so activated the capo , played the strings 6-1 as 10th fret , 12th fret , 12th fret , 14th fret ,15th fret and 10th fret . checked the results with the tuner expecting it to be Db Ab Db Ab Db Db and it sounds CGCGCC . surely it should be up a semi tone . Went into the Workbench , selected a custom slot , moved the sliders on the fretboard to the above pattern and it worked fine i.e. Db Ab Db Ab Db Db . Also tried it on other tunings i.e. dropped B ( huge Tremonti fan ... dont judge me ) so activated capo played the bottom E at the 7th fret and the rest at the twelth instead of Bb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb got AGCFAD . And before anyone asks I've been playing for over 30 years so yes i do know where the notes are on the fretboard and the corresponding fret number ..... honest

Any Ideas ?

It took me 3 attempts which seems the norm .

Did notice Andertons had a few communication breakdowns between the staff when ringing up , got told on Monday that I was fourth on the list and only 3 in stock despite being told end of august that mine was the only one in the warehouse and ready to be sent .... to be fair they have just had a major refit and things are a bit up in the air . My serial # is W110400641 which if i'm understanding the serial sequence correctly is the 641st to be made in Apr , so 3700 before yours ... I know Rich said they were ramping up preduction but thats a hell of a lot guitars ,

I dont think they picked up on the flux problem till after april ( please correct if i'm wrong ) so i'm thinking they are just edging their bets and sending them out with the minimal of testing then the few that do come back faulty they sort out later , but your switch problem doesnt seem to follow the normal givin up the ghost sequence others are reporting , does the 3 way work ok with the mags ?
