That has been my biggest issue with the POD. I know it is the way I have things set up but recorded tones sound so different than what they do with the headphones.

Palm Muting issues on Variax guitars?

I have the POD HD500 and DT 50 combo and love it with my Ibanez guitar. I am thinking of saving up for a locking trem/24fret model if they ever come out with one. I saw a youtube video that complained about palm muting on the a JT Variax guitar and some of the coments led me to believe that this is a known issue.

What is your experience with palm muting on the JT Variax guitars? I palm mute quite a bit per my style and I am thinking now this is NOT the way to go for me.

It does seem that the way they have changed the description, it won't be as flexible as originally advertised. That's disappointing. I don't see much use for it unless I am mic'ing stuff through the POD (vocals, acoustic guitar). I wish there was a way for me to mic my DT 50 through the POD...you would almost think that it wouldn't take too much to do that. Think that there would be many requests for that?

At this point I have to break my X3L out to mic the DT 50 while I control the DT 50 via my PC.

So...how will this come into play on the HD series POD's?

Is it in line like an effect or is it only used for hooking up a real mic to the device an this used to "enhance" the sound?

Did the X3L have this? I still have mine but haven't had it out of the box since I got my POD HD 500 over a year ago!

This is interesting though. When I have HD Edit open and I and I bounce between patches, all effects, tone, volume settings, ect... will stay in the last state I left it regardless if saved or not with exception of the wah and volume that uses the toe switch to turn on/off and control the position.

So what I did to normalize this was set it where I wanted and instead of using HD Edit to save, I used the POD to save. Now the wah will go to the saved settings (which is usually off and preferred) but at least I have a work around.

This is not really how this should be working but at least I know how to predict what it will do.

I appreciate your response but that is NOT the way this is working for me. It would be ok if at least it did revert to the last saved setting.

In fact, I believe that you are not correct in regards to the last SAVED settings. Run a quick test and see for yourself. Take two saved presets and turn the the drive down on preset A and don't save. Now switch switch back and forth between presets. You will see that it will in fact keep the drive down even though it is not a SAVED setting.

Again, thank you for assisting but I am curious to know if you are actually trying this on your POD or going by memery?

Couldn't agree more with above post. I have an old Digitech GNX3000 that I don't remember getting one single update and also the same with my Korg AX1000G unit....no updates.

I think that Line6 does a pretty good job keeping everyone informed on what they are working on and when they plan on updating things.

That said, I hope it comes soon...I love new toys!

Sure...should be easy to reproduce.

So lets say that you have preset 16A with wah assigned to EXP TOE SWITCH, Parameter set to POSITION, and Controller set to EXP-1

Pressing on the expression pedal down hard engages the wah and moving it works as expected...wah works fine. Now disengage it and click on preset 16B where there may not even be a wah or volume pedal defined.

now click back to preset 16A and now my EXP-2 pedal is engaged (so it is on, but now the position does not change) would prefer to have it in the last known position just like my last set volume.

hopefully this make sense. I am wondering if there is just something wrong with my HD since I would imagine that this would be a problem for most folks. I already reflashed it so that didn't change anything. I even tried the factor defaults...same issue.
