Question about Distortion(s)

Hi,

I have had the M13 since early this year and LOVE it! When i first got it, i thought the distortions sounded like (and to quote another user) "like a thousand bees or mosquitos". I turned the bass up on my amp and the treble down a bit and it seemed to work wonderfully. I had the ability to get that warm hard crunch that Audioslave and RATM and others have. However, on recently updating to the 2.0 software, all of those "insect wing" sounds came rushing back. I know in some other posts it talks about how this is all setting, but i seem to have returned all of my settings to exactly how i had them before and the nasty sound is still there. Is there a possibility that the type of midi-to-usb cord i have used to update affected the quality of the sounds? I have to say i am so excited about all the new things the 2.0 update has to offer! (Thanks Line 6 for the harmonizer and pitch glide! I <3 Tom Morello!!!) But with the new pedals, i have gotten back the old problems. Even if i drop the treble completely and crank the bass, i still get really bad distortions. I cant even begin to use and "Buzz" "Fuzz" or "octave" pedals because of how fuzzy it sounds. Any help would be MUCH appreciated, I want my awesome M13 back!

Another Update Question

Ok, so it seems to have updated the 1.07 correctly but it is stuck on the "Flash Update Mode/Wating Command" and "M13 Stompbox Modeler/ V1.07.00"

What do i do now?

Those site were pretty useful, i guess now i just need to figure out with the different parameters of each pedal do, such as the effects of changing the "filter" "mid" "comp" or "tone" of different pedals.

Yeah, I guess i should have worded my situation more like

"I have bands where i really like there tones, and i cant seem to get decent tones cause im not sure which parameter to change on a pedal to achieve the desired effect on the overall sound. Or perhaps which pedal i should add to the loop."

M13 Particular Band "Sound" Help

I have been playing guitar for some time now but have never had the $ to afford alot of pedals. Now that i have the nice amp, guitar, and an M13, i need some help on getting particular sounds out of the M13 since i am trying to use it for a cover band and we would like to be fairly close to the original sound. I have never been great at getting a good sound out of my pedals since I have never had many or even used the ones i had.

Is there anywhere that has a "list" or chart of particular effects and their parameters to get a particular band's sound?

Or would anyone be interested in starting a discussion where individual effects and their respective levels could be posted for a particular sound?

Or is there a site where i could find what each pedal will do to the sound of a guitar so that i dont have to try each one in every possible 4 combo?

Any help would be great with this guys!
