      <title>Really different way to hook your POD HD 500 up to your amp</title>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:58e4f6bd-3f38-4802-ae79-0e865217e819] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hey everyone,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I've figured out a really different, and neat, way to hook your POD HD 500 up to your amp.&amp;#160; However, you will need a few extras.&amp;#160; There are two different ways to do this.&amp;#160; One uses the 1/4" outs and the other uses the XLR outs (better; less stuff required).&amp;#160; I'll discuss the XLR version here step by step.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You'll need a microphone (dynamic; no condensers cause the HD 500 can't supply 48V for the phantom power), two mic cables, a XLR to 1/4" impedance matching transformer adapter, and your amp.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;First, hook up the LEFT XLR output of your HD 500 to the female end of the mic cable.&amp;#160; The other end of that mic cable attaches to the transformer adapter and then into the input of your amp.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Next, mic your amp.&amp;#160; Plug one end of your other mic cable into the mic and the other end into the Mic input of the HD500.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Next, turn on your HD500 and put 4 of your FX blocks on one side of the mixer and the other 4 on the other side (you can mix and match here; you'll see why in a minute).&amp;#160; Then move the amp model block after the mixer block and leave it off.&amp;#160; We won't be using any amp models because we're using a real amp.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now go into your system settings for the patch and set input 1 to guitar and input 2 to Mic (this is crucial).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Next, go into the mixer block and (if not already so) pan output A 100% to the left and output B 100% to the right.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now all of the FX you place in the lower rung of the mixer will be after the amp and all of the FX you place on the top rung will be before the amp.&amp;#160; This only works in MONO, but it keeps the delays and reverbs from muddying up your amp tones if you run your power amp section into saturation.&amp;#160; Your final effected output will come out of the RIGHT XLR output.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Pretty cool, eh?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;JV&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:58e4f6bd-3f38-4802-ae79-0e865217e819] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:c174eac7-f36c-4073-8a28-4e13b8cff06a] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm glad some others feel the same way.&amp;#160; I lead worship and trying to turn more than one effect on and off at the same time is extremely hard when you're singing lead. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We also use Ableton Live quite a bit and I would like for Live to trigger my different scenes without changing the tempo.&amp;#160; I can then focus more on what I'm doing from a leading aspect and focus less on the technical crap during the songs. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I use a lot of tempo sync'd delay stuff and, in most cases, I'm using one delay on an eighth delay and another on a dotted eighth delay.&amp;#160; Unfortunately, this means that I need to be able to turn on/off both delays at the same time.&amp;#160; This forces me to use an entire scene to do this, but I wouldn't mind it if the tempo remained constant while switching through scenes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Jamie&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:c174eac7-f36c-4073-8a28-4e13b8cff06a] --&gt;</description>

      <title>Global Tap Tempo, Anyone?</title>
