I agree completely. I bought a lefty Variax 500 the day it was available to order from Guitar Center. I still own and play it daily. Yes of all my guitars, it is played the most. I love choosing a model based on my mood and rocking out. I find the models do inspire me to play in styles of music that typically are used by a particular model. ie country licks on a tele.

I would just love a jtv59, but I would get whichever one they sold. I bought the 500 but I wanted the 700. I would even buy one the american ones as a special order if it was the only way to get one. They don't think like a guitar company. they think like an effects/amp company. The lefty 500 might not have done well as an off the shelf guitar, but it could have been a special order through the dealer. and so could the JTV.

My lefty S500 is my main axe still. I bought it as soon as it was available. I love how quiet it is. The guitars models sound great to me. I wish they would make one of the new variaxes as a lefty. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

It is the high strings that sound seems to dip in and out for me. and only strumming. No other model has the problem as far as I can tell. Strange. I don't use the banjo much, so I never noticed it before

I have a Variax 500 lefty that I play all the time and I was trying out the banjo model last night and when I was strumming it I noticed that all strings were not making sound. It seemed like a string or two would not make sound when I was strumming quickly. When plucking the individual strings I couldn't duplicate it. Like the modelling couldn't keep up with my playing. I have not noticed this when strumming on the electric or acoustic models, only the banjo model.

Has anyone else experienced this?

UPDATE: I tested it on my wife's iPhone 4 and you are correct. It does not reconize it. Very strange.

As you can see, the DockStubZ is working with my iPhone 4S. I did order mine from CableJive directly as the model on their web site is thinner to fit with a bumper case.

DockStubZ extender by CableJive worked for me perfectly. Amazon carries it.
