Also What about The presets I have in my Pod Farm 2.0 now, will I be able to transfer them to may iMac ?

Switched to Macbook pro a year ago, which I had to invest quite a sum for new audio interface (Duet 2 ), softwares, etc.

Never looked back since I have switched to Logic from Cakewalk. Everything is so much more streamlined, easier, and reliable. As you have said above, I also had too much reliability issues with PCs. (This is not to say Macs never crash but it hardly happens). But of course this is just my experience and YMMV!

Mac IMHO is superior to PC in music production (at least for poor man's home recordings rig like mine) in terms of reliability and plug&play. People often get turned off by it's lower performance/price ratio and lack of expandabiltity. So it's up to personal preferences. I'm not too bothered with it though.

Basically I record with Riffworks and Use Line 6 Pod farm 2.0 and Amplitube 3 with my Ux-1 so I dont know about the rest, as long as it does that I'm good! I'm just tired of the same old Virus, Spyware issues with my PC and crashing. I just figured I give it a shot and change, I never upgrade as long as I have enough hard drive space and speed to run those programs and my wifes photos then Im good.

apple decides which version of software you can and can't use for instance...

apple will not let you install different versions of java... flash... etc

java in particular can be an issue, and has been on here...

also they left alot of user hanging with their old "power pc" processors...

just quit supporting them... forcing people to byuy whole new machines or not be able to use the latest...

they bought the company that makes the processors for their ipods/ipads/iphones not too long ago...

i wouldn't be surprised if they do the same thing and abandon intel mac users at some point...

the software selection itself is generally fewer options than a windows machine...

i consider that a limitation of sorts too... although can't blame apple for that...

the apple users will say that all of these limitations enhance the quality of the experience...

and to some degree it does limit the amount of third party issues...

for me though... it can also limit what i can accomplish.

you won't have to buy it again... but you will have to download it...

it's up for debate though if i'd consider a mac a "better" computer... of course it will probably be newer than what you had or you wouldn't bother... just be prepared as the mac environment is very controlled and everything isn't easier... the idea is by limiting your control... they limit your chance of messing it up.... its a great theory...

but i found it too limiting and quit using all my macs. (i had 3)

I was thinking about purchasing a iMac Computer, what would I do to keep my Pod Farm 2.0 for the mac, would I have to download it again? what is the process? I don't want to have to buy it again.

I'm on a HP PC right now and am looking for a better computer
