Thanks for the helpful answers.I guess these are the only available options for now & I wish L6 would make some improvements.I remember the X3 Edit had something better than this.

Oh nice, I didn't thought of saving the patch in a folder. Good idea !

And I used "tone 1" and "tone 2" just to differ the tone (ok, the word "patch" would probably fit better, I forgot that the X3 has "tones") that was on the 1A slot and the one on the 4B, of course I didn't mean to copy just one of the paths

The way HD500 handles preset movement is this:

- when you simply drag/drop (without using the CTRL key) all presets within the affected range are moved and re-ordered. To use your example, dragging 1A to 4B would cause 1A to move to 4B. What used to be 1B is moved UP and becomes 1A. All intervening presets are also moved UP one slot to make room for what used to be 4B becoming 4A. Presets 4C through 16D are unaffected. ALthough not relevant in this case, if the starting preset had been anything but 1A, all prior presets would also be unaffected.

- when you use CTRL+drag/drop the preset being dragged is copied to the target location, replacing (overwriting) the preset in that location; none of the other presets in the range are moved or re-ordered. To use your example, CTRL+dragging 1A to 4B would cause 1A to be copied to 4B. The preset previously in 4B is replaced in the HD500 Edit buffer (but not on the HD500 device). All intervening presets are unaffected.

So to SWAP 1A and 4B I would use HD500 Edit to:

a) save a copy of 4B (which is about to be replaced) by darg/dropping the 4B preset to a folder location on your computer

b) CTRL+drag/drop 1A to 4B. What was 1A is now 4B

c) drag/drop the saved copy of 4B from your comnputer folder into preset location 1A. What was 4B is now 1A.

d) Select presets 1A and 4B in HD500 Edit, and use the SEND SELECTED button to send/save them to the HD500 device.

Another comment: when moving or swapping presets, the entire preset is moved or swapped - not just what you are calling tone 1. There is no tone 1 or tone 2 (like the X3 model). There are single- or dual-path presets. The entire preset is moved/swapped.

But... When you drag & drop tone 1 from 1A to 4B, you overwrite the second tone in 4B. Even if it's not written to the POD, HD Edit will consider that 4B contains tone 1. So if you drag & drop again from 4B to 1A, you'll drag tone 1 back. No ?

Are you suggesting to copy tone 1 to any other slot (let say 2A), overwrite it with tone 2 and then moving tone 1 to it's final destination ? Then only saving slots 1A and 4B, reverting changes on 2A ?

In that case, yes a backup is mandatory . But there is more steps than it should.

I'm also interested in that question, a simple way to swap tones would be nice.

What I would normally do is to select the first tone and hold down the left mouse button as I drag it to its new location within Edit and then do the same with the other tone. Nothing is fixed until you SEND to the POD so it shouldn't overwrite anything permanently until you have everything in place. But always make a backup of your original bundle or individual set lists so you can roll back if you mess up

Can someone tell me an easy way to swap tones tones wiothin a set list using HD 500 edit? For example I would like to swap 1A to 4B & interchange.
