This actually works! Very easy to do... My 3 year old M9 flipped out on me during a performance last night. The control knobs wouldn't work, the effects were randomly switching and finally the screen shut off. I hoped that it was a loose ribbon so I followed the steps in the previous post and it worked! Everything functions normally. I guess after 3 years of being on the road it loosened up. The hardest part of the whole process was getting the pedal detached from my board. You'd think the dual lock velcro was welded on! Always look inside before wasting you're time and money with sending it off to a service center!

Your cable came loose. Turn off and unplug your M9.

There are six screws on the bottom, attached to rubber feet. Take those off. There are two screws on the corners by the jacks. Take those off. The one on the cable holder can stay.

You're looking at the bottom of the unit. The switches/screen are on the floor.

While seated, touch something metal that is not attached to the unit. Mic stand, something solid & metal nearby to discharge any static electricity about your person.

We good? Your warranty is over?

Take off the cover. There are two ribbon cables, like the big ones in computers. They should be facing you, attached to the bigger board. The switches are still on the floor. One ribbon cable says "User Interface." I forget the other. The Other is the one you want. It is unseated. It might not wobble or anything, but it is loose.

Press down on it gently, like holding a key on a keyboard. It should slide into place. Don't push too hard. If you felt it move and lock into place, you should be good. If you want, double check any others you can easily reach.

Put the cover back on. It's a little tricky. I put the cover on the floor and slide the unit into it. Reattach your screws and plug your M9 back in.

Is your M9 still within the one year warranty period? If it is, the repair would be covered.
