no problem on the frustrations... that's how many of us, including myself ended up here in the first place!

If you have a faulty product straight off the bat then just go back to the retailer as you are well within any time frame to do so for a replacement or refund.

And generally it is better to start your own thread as threads often get marked as answered and additional posts of "I have the same problem" can easily go ignored as Line 6 don't see additional comments to answered posts - although the system has now changed anyway and Line 6 would prefer you to use the more direct ticket option I showed at the top of the post.This should actually improve the efficiency of their answering. Also if your problem turns out to be different to the OP's then it can become unclear as to who's problem we're all trying to sort, have already sorted, who needs a different solution etc.

I think part of the problem with your rant was the fact that you hadn't asked on the forum - you went straight to "I'm gonna tell all my students Line 6 is crap" - which if you've been round the internet a bit is a variation on those classic threats you see and we've seen them all before, usually from people claiming to know 'name artists' etc. when it's obvious they're just some kid in their bedroom. I'm not saying that's what it is in your case, it's just that's how it can come across.

I don't know how you're using the internet - from your mobile I assume as you have no landline. In that case you could always use Skype or some such as you're already paying for the internet anyway, that's if you really need to make a call, but I don't think you will need to.

Anyway I hope you can find a solution to your problem unless you already took it back then enjoy your Boss or whatever you got as a replacement.

To all who responded

I must start off this reply with an sincere apology. Yes, there were problems I had with the unit after I installed the update (not the 1.55 monkey) before that it was working fine, and recording on my computer.

I did not start a new thread because of details I laid out before, and tried to solve the problem myself.

I have taken the unit back to the retailer from which I purchased it from this morning, who told me that the Line 6 reps would be in next week, and would have a look at it then, and when driving home (its about an hour drive from me) i recieved a call from the store informing me they were able to re-flash the drive, and it is working perfectly again.

I did ask how they were able to do it, and he basically told me that they were able to upload from the newere version (which in my haste this morning I didnt give it 'one last go').

So as of now, when the wife finishes work, she is going to pick up the new unit.

I just really wanted to apologise to all who responded (including Line 6, and the retailer) for helping me out with this.

I like anyone are capable (obviously) of making an arse out of myself, especially to the people who were only too happy to help.

Frustration + lack of sleep = me acting like a ****.

Once again I sincerely apologise to all, and hope to make it up to you all at some stage through this forum, sharing tones and becoming apart of this community.

We are all capable of mistakes, but it is how we acknowledge & fix those mistakes that makes us the people we are.

I appreciate everyones help (including David from Line 6) and once again am truly sorry.

P.S HTSMetal, you were spot on, me calling it a crap product was just plain wrong.

I have not seen this issue arise with Monkey version 1.55... As of yet at least.... Anyone experiencing this issue can create a ticket here:

Instead of asking the same question in a new thread that has been asked countless times before, I took it upon myself to go through & find them, and try every avenue, and still nothing.

I live in Australia, and have only the Mobile. Which insanely high international call should I make? The U.S or U.K phone number? All for a fault which was not my doing, for a product that was working fine until I updated the software & drivers etc.

My rant was born from frustration and not directed to anyone but Line 6, but you seem to have taken it onboard like i insulted your own Mother.

So if I indeed posted a new thread, I am just wondering if you would have been able to give me any new information, that has not already been said before? Or would you have just written "already answered in xxxxxx topic"?
