As always line6 never shows up in discussions where their products are critiziced. This was my last line6 product in the HD range, what a piece of crap.

http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2654

http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2096

If you have a technical problem the preferred method is to contact them directly:

http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html

or at the very least when posting you should mark your thread as a question. Line 6 will not see the thread otherwise (and won't have seen yours). Not that it matters now.

I run PC and no nothing about Mac, but have done plenty recording through different interfaces.

When using USB you get a second audio interface into you computer.

Recording software need to know what to syncronize all audio with.

Usually this causes pops and crackles - but one never knows in the wonderful world of computers.

At least check that you match sample frequency and bit depth to what you run your daw software in.

On PC at least there is a limitation to one ASIO device, and USB stuff usually add another one.

So I would at least try run POD through a DI-box if needed into your normal audio intputs. This way you will get an answer if having to do with USB or not.

Don't remember now if POD HD has selectable out levels, don't think so and DI-box might be needed.

Hey guys

I see that a lot of people had this problem with HD500

I have a POD HD, bought new yesterday. I got home and downloaded the latest drivers and upgraded to the latest firmware on the POD through media monkey.

I then hooked up guitar directly into the pod guitar input and connected my headphones in headphone out.

I have my POD HD connected to my macbook pro with the USB.

When playing through the POD HD in sounds great, however, after I record what I am playing it sounds awful. The recorded riff sounds fizzy, thin sounding and sounds nothing like I hear directly connected to the POD. I have tried to record inn RIFFWORKS, ABLETON live 8

So:

1. what is wrong, why the awful sound? Someone else got this problem?

2. Does it sound better if conencted to either output or spdif into an audio interface?

If nr 2 I see no reason to keep the POD HD
