Latency issues with PODxt Pro and Riffworks T4...

First let me start by saying I am new to recording on my own so please excuse any dumb questions or statements. Now, I am using my PODxt Pro and am connecting to my laptop (HP Pavillion, i3, Windows 7). I have installed Riffworks T4 and made sure ALL my dirvers are up to date via Monkey! All of the audio sounds fine either through my headphones or Monitors except that there is a delay (latency) when I play my guitar. I have played around with the ASIO settings inside Riffworks and adjusted the buffer sizes, If I use the smallest size possible it seems to clear up the latency issue but Riffworks seems to stop working (I can't get any of the effects or drums to play) but Riffworks returns to normal when I reset the buffer back to a larger size. Is this my computers CPU causing this? I was under the impression that I had plenty of power with this laptop, so I hoping that this is not the issue. Would I be better off getting the UX1 or UX2 instead? Just a thought... Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I bought Guitar Port XT, works great sounds good but it is all useless. It does not do a thing I bought it for!

How come I can not record with RiffWorks? Why is it a non working version of Riff Works 1.0 which is a Demo Version that came in the box? The Riff Works Label shows clearly on the CD that RiffWorks is on the disk and so does the box and does not even tell me it is Demo software! It seems to be the only way that has any possibility to record anything using Guitar Port XT.

This is not the impression all the reviews about your product left me with. From the reviews I read online they talk about Guitar Port make's recording your music easy.

How is it easy when I can not record with it and you give me Demo software? DO I have to buy something else to actually record what I hear?

Incredibly dissapointed here. DO I have any alternatives at all to recording what I hear when using GuitarPort/GearBox or am I required to buy RiffTracker? I should not have to buy the Riff Tracker Software, no where was I told that Riff Tracker in the box is Demo software.

So whats the deal here?

Activate Riffworks?

Hi,

I bought a GuitarPort Rifftracker with the Riffworks around 2005-2006 and it worked fine til about a year ago.

Since I installed it again it won't activate. It says "Release version: 1.00" in RiffWorks if that helps.

Seems like I'm not the only one with this problem, but since I paid good money for it and it has worked all these years

I can't see why it doesn't now.

Futhermore I've bought a Line 6 PodXT Live from a friend a few years ago - I assume this would work with the same RiffWorks I bought, right?

Any help would be appreciated!

My two favorite devices are my linux computer and my line 6. I downloaded what is supposed to be a driver. When I tried to use the control panel it said that the folder doesn't exist, and said that "alien" is a better way to install drivers tham RPM. I installed alien. Now what? alien doesn't show up anywhere....

DIRECTIONS:

The cleanest way to install the driver is to build and install an RPM package.

This takes care of removal of old versions and proper loading of the driver.

Type the commands

rpmbuild -tb line6usb-0.8.1.tar.bz2

rpm -U /usr/src/packages/RPMS/i586/line6usb-0.8.1-1.i586.rpm

The second command requires root privileges. You might need to change the path

if you are using a system different from SuSE for the i586 platform.

Source installation

If you are not familiar with RPM or prefer manual compilation, you can use the

following procedure. Unpack the archive, change to the newly created directory,

and compile/install the driver:

tar xjf line6usb-0.8.1.tar.bz2

cd line6usb-0.8.1

make install

This will compile the driver and install it in the module directory, so the

driver should be loaded automatically as soon as the Line6 device is connected.

If it doesn't, you can load it manually with

modprobe line6usb

How to avoid troubles with RW link

Hello everyone

For some reason RW attempts to connect to link all the time, and even if I disable the drum streaming in the audio settings, I stil have problems if somehow the connection is slow or the Wi Fi signal happens to be weak. The result is that many of my songs end spoilt by unpleasant noises. Not good.

Any body knows how to avoid this problem? Any advice or information will be sincerely appreciated.

Riffworks V/1 Problems

Hello everyone, I need some help with activating/connecting Riffworks version 1.

I bought the Guitarport Rifftracker years ago (in 2007 I believe) and used it fine without hassle on my old PC, anyway after my PC crashed I never bothered installing it on my new laptop until recently. I still had the guitarport, installation CD and all the assorted cables but I don't have the box or manual anymore. So the guitarport and riffworks both seemed to install fine, the sound was working fine. However on riffworks it says I need to activate in order to save/mix, when I click on activate a message reads: Riffworks must be activated to enable record, save and mix. Please be sure Network Enabled is checked in Guitarport preferences and the computer is connected to the internet. Then click activate to connect to the server. I have done this a thousand times yet it keeps coming up with the same message, my internet connection is working fine and so is the rest of the guitarport but it just won't change.

Also occasionally a box pops up when I click activate asking my for my lincense key, I can't for life of my remember it or find it so is anyway to get a new one because I don't excatly have $129 to spend on a brand new riffworks.

This is driving me insane so any help would be much appreicated.

Recording Vocals

Hey, I've got Riffworks Standard and am using Amplitube 3 for my guitar tones. However I'm struggling to get a decent sound for recording vocals. Either sounds like I'm recording in the bathroom or inside a shoe box. Haven't been able to get any crystal clear vocals.

What do you when recording vocals to get the best sound?

Any tips on how to get the best sounds from riffworks would be much appreciated!

Sonoma messing around me again

Once the device's asigned as an ASIO for Riffworks, why is it detached again and again?? I have installed, uninstalled and installed again this bloody Sonoma and its updates thousand times and still sooner or later tells me I have no ASIO, the same program and ASIO I was using on hour before. In this case Line6 UX1. WHY? Is a ******* pain in the ***. Fair enough is for free, but I truly regret to even have tried it. Is ******* up more songs than I can afford to record.

UX2, Pod Farm 2.5 and Riffworks

I am using a Line6 UX2 on a PC, the second computer I authorized. I downloaded Pod Farm 2.5 and would like to use the combination in Riffworks T4. However, none of the Pod Farm amps or tones show up under Effects in Riffworks. It seems that I am missing the "Plug In" version of Pod Farm that works with Riffworks, because when I run Pod Farm 2.5 as a standalone, all the various tones are there. Please tell me where to find the Plug In version that works with Riffworks and how to activate it. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone

Finally got my speakers and as I was told Riffworks drum patterns are sounding now. The thing is, now after I record my layers the guitar is recorded totally clear as it was straight away plugged without any line6 effect at all. Just raw clean sound. Why. I went through the settings and I can't see anything. Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Regards!
