Another dead Express MK II - resumed -

The original topic with the same title is blocked,.. so I started a new one.

I've already opened a ticket, with these words:

Got a used Fbv Exp MkII, worked fine. Already latest firmware. I used it to upgrade Spider IV 75 firmware and all went ok. As i unplug the Fbv from usb it started behave strangely, with led flashing and pedals not working. After several restarts it suddenly worked again. Use it as interface with Spider IV editor, latest version. The operation seemed a little slow, but it worked. Then i Read a preset from Spider and the software get stucked at 0%. After some minutes I kill the program and unpluged Fbv. From that moment it's completely unusable. It only light the second led from the left (tuner led) and the only pedal that seems alive is the B, when pressed it lights its own led and the first right led of the tuner. Fbv does not go into calibration mode in any way. The same happens with Usb power supply (without a computer, only a usb battery charger like iPhone) and with RJ45 power supply from the Spider.

I tried again after some minutes, just to see if it could word as an interface for the Spider. With both usb and rj45 connected I got some hum from the speaker, and then all the leds turned off.

Now, as I power the fbv, I got only a fast blink of all leds, and nothing more.

Since the original thread is a bit old, I was wondering if anyone managed to solve the Fbv problem.

I' m from Italy and the unit isn't under guarantee anymore,...... maybe I should start thinking about a new shortboard (if this model is not affected by this great BUG)?

can i control my spider hd 150 and spider valve mk2 120 at the same time with one fbv mk2?

I have read that the FBV MKII contains a class-compliant USB port (required for iPad compatibility) and is also fully programable with a PC (needed for midi mapping to iPad apps functions) but I am still not 100% sure it will work with the iPad and camera connection kit...

1. When you program the FBV, does it store the midi commands in internal memory? Or do you have to open the Midi editor every time you use it? Meaning, could I program it with my PC and then connect it to my iPad with all of the programmed midi commands still stored in the FBVs internal memory?

2. Has anybody used it with an iPad and want to share their results? I want to be able to control Loopy HD, Animoog, and other iOS apps that allow midi control.

Shortboard MKII & PodHD Desktop: Board reconfigures Pod -> ProTools crashes due to setting changes in audio device

Hi there,

I'v been using an Pod HD Bean together with ProTools 9 & 10 for more than a year now. A few days ago I bought an FBV Shortboard MK2 and configured the corresponding Midi-MMCs so that I can control ProTools' Transport Window with the Shortboard. So the Shortboard is connected to my PC via USB and the Pod Bean too. Both devices are connected to an USB-Port on my PC directly (not through an USB Hub).

I did some ProTools recordings through the Pod HD Bean and used the Shortboard for controlling the ProToosl' Transport Window. It works well as long as I do not have the Shortboard connected to the Pod Bean via the RJ45 cable during the recording session. If I connect the Shortboard and the Pod via the RJ45 too, ProTools crashes every time saying that the audio device has been reconfigured and that ProTools needs to be restarted. But right after the restart, the problems appears again. The problems stops as soon as I disconnect the Shortboard from my Pod Bean.

It seems that the Shortboard sends configuration data to the Pod although it is connected to my PC via USB where the Shortboard is used as the control device for ProTools' Tranport Window. I wouldn't have expected any data communication between the Shortboard and Pod as soon as the Shortbord is connected to the PC and used for the Midi-MMCs.

Is there a solution for this problem? I'm afraid that the RJ45 connectors will be damaged some day if the cable will be connected and disconnected very often.

i have had this amp almost 2 years

have read the manuall and followed the steps i believe to be correct

I created a patch of my own,stored it in a bank,however its giving 100% volume with the pedal ful forward but full back i want the volume to 0% but i would say full back its pulling the volume back to around 40%.

Tried....yes..i have tried to correct this via the edit but to no avail!

Anyone know how to tweak this so i get 100% forward and 0% pulled back on the pedal?

habe mein fbv Express an den Computer anschließen wollen.

Als ich dies tat leuchteten alle LED's auf und auf dem Computer erschien USB gerät wurde nicht erkannt.

Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir helfen.

Hello. I have a Spider Jam 75W amp and a FBV Express Mkii, and there's a instruction on the pilot's guide manual about a quick capture, but I tried and I couldn't get it done. Could you please help me? I don't know if there's a problem with one of the two equipments or it's just me not understanding exactly what I need to do. Sorry for my bad englis.

How do you TURN OFF Manual Mode on Shortbaord Mk II?

I have a Pod XT Pro with a FBV Shortboard Mk II and sometimes when I switch channels it goes into manual mode if I hit the button wrong.

This is a big problem because when it does this my amp volume jumps up really high and just irritates the rest of the band and me as well.

I'm not sure how exactly it does this, it just reads "MANUAL" on the pedalboard and everything goes haywire. I just want the buttons to do

the basic operations, up/down on the banks - turn on/off my Stomp, Modulation, Delay, Reverb - Work Channels A thu D - and the Volume/Wah pedal.

The tap button I don't even need to work really because I set all that up in my channels.

I would be nice if there were an explanation of what all the values mean and exactly what they do in the FBV Control Software, like MMC, and MIDI CC.

Some are strait forward, but others are a little confusing.

I also have the same problem if I accedently hit the Function 1 or 2 buttons. So I would like to disable those as well.

New to Shortboard MKII. Help please?

I am new to the "foot controler" thing first off. I want to know how I can use my Shortboard MKII to control podfarm 2.5. I know you cannot use "bank presets" or toggle between them. I basically want to use it when I record DI but first I need to find a way to use it with my computer. I have these things:

Line 6 UX1 (With included cable)

Shortboard MKII (With included computer cable)

Computer running Windows 8

Podfarm 2.5 (with all model packs)

Guitar.

Basically I want to use the UX1 and the MK together but I dont know how. The computer cable will work with my computer but the MKII only turns on when its hooked up via USB. How can I use both together and hear my guitar with headphones or am I going to have to buy another cable or a Spider Amp. I don't need the amp as that to much money just to use a pedal. I want to be able to use the wah and all that stuff too.Or did I waste $200. It says its compatable with podfarm 2.5.

Someone help me out here I'm lost.

Just bought new FBV Express MK II and the computer (windows 7) doesn't load the device. There is no signs of life on the FBV either (no lights)

Have I got a broken one?

I'm used to the slightly bizarre Line 6 monkey because I also use the Line 6 UX1. The monkey or FBV software can't 'see' the device either.

I've tried various USB cables.

Help!
