We want you to know that we’re changing how we provide you support.

Previously, our forums were used as the mechanism to ask the Line 6 tech support staff and the community at large a question. The forums are still a good place to find advice about tone, computer configuration, and subjective questions about sound and application from other Line 6 users. Before asking us a direct question, we ask that you please look at our Knowledge Base, video tutorials, forums and manuals, as the answer you are looking for is probably already there. Additionally, a search made in our forums may show that your question has previously been asked and answered.

Marking a post as a question tells the community that you’re looking for help. Doing so also gives other members the incentive to answer it for points you can award them for helpful and correct answers.

What is it?

POD HD v2.0 is a free firmware update for POD HD, POD HD500 and POD HD Pro multi-effect processors. Once downloaded and installed, POD HD v2.0 will fortify your POD HD an increased model set and enhanced integration with James Tyler® Variax® modeling guitars.

What are the new models?

V2.0 includes two brand-new HD guitar models based on* the Normal and Bright inputs of the legendary Marshall® “Plexi” 1959 Super Lead 100-watt head, the world’s first HD bass model based on* the immortal Ampeg® B-15NF Portaflex® (which includes eight incredible mic model choices!) and a new vintage-voiced mic preamp model based on* the Requisite Y7. What’s the enhanced James Tyler Variax integration?

If you use your POD HD with a James Tyler Variax (that is updated to v1.8 firmware), you can use the Variax knobs like expression pedals to control delay time, amp drive or up to 50 simultaneous POD HD parameters. You can also adjust the behavior of the pickup toggle switch; assign Variax alternate tunings, pickup configurations and Variax models to your POD HD presets; and assign Variax models and local control settings globally or on a per-preset basis. How do I download it?

Connect your POD HD to your computer, run Line 6 Monkey and follow the directions.
