Please could someone tell me the difference between the currently available Variax 300 (either steel string or nylon; I'm thinking of getting both) versus the discontinued Variax 700 series guitars. I wish to get a couple and have to decide whether to buy new or look around for the older model 700 series.

I'm also interested in anything else regarding the Variaxes (sp?) and will read this groups postings. Any tips and/or advise would be very welcome. Please reply here or to my mercurylake@gmail.com email.
