This tutorial will show you how to update the flash memory for your POD HD device using the Line 6 Monkey software. This is the only way to reset the POD HD back to its factory settings. This process works for all POD HD devices. We use an HD300 in this example. ***NOTE: If a Variax guitar is connected to the POD HD500 via VDI connection during the flash memory update for the POD, DO NOT DISCONNECT the Variax guitar from the POD until the update process is completed:

*After re-installing the flash memory on a POD HD500/HD Bean/HD Pro, perform a global reset on the unit by holding the LEFT ARROW (<) button as you plug-in the Power adapter. This will clear all global settings on the POD, reset the SETLIST names to NEW FACTORY SETLIST names, but it will NOT erase USER PRESETS.

**After performing the above procedures, make sure to CALIBRATE the EXPRESSION PEDAL of the POD HD500: POD HD500 Pedal Calibration.
