The Mobile In adapter can be used in place of the built in microphone to input audio for iOS video capture, here's how to do it:

 

1: Connect the Mobile In to your iPhone or iPad using the 30-pin

dock connector.

2: Connect your guitar or other audio source to Mobile In:

 

  • Connect the ¼” Tip Sleeve side of the cable into the output of your instrument, then Connect the 1/8" Stereo Male end of the cable to the ‘GUITAR IN’ on the Mobile In adaptor.

  • Connect both of the ¼” Tip Sleeve cable connections to the left and right outputs of your audio source, then connect the 1/8" Stereo Male end of the cable to the ‘LINE IN’ on the Mobile In adaptor.

3: Launch the Camera app.

 

4: Switch to the video camera by tapping the photo/video slider in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

 

5: Press red record button in the bottom center of the app to being recording video while capturing audio from the Mobile In. The audio input from the Mobile In will dry unprocessed audio.

  • Connect both of the ¼” Tip Sleeve cable connections to the left and right outputs of your audio source, then connect the 1/8" Stereo Male end of the cable to the ‘LINE IN’ on the Mobile In adaptor.

3: Launch the Camera app.

 

4: Switch to the video camera by tapping the photo/video slider in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

 

5: Press the red record button in the bottom center of the app to being begin recording video while capturing audio from the Mobile In. The audio input from the Mobile In will be dry unprocessed audio, the Mobile POD app will not be accessible to process the input of the Mobile In adapter while using the Camera app.
